Dignified

I was going through my collection and realized I never left a review for this beauty. Similar to what a couple others mentioned below, I have always had a problem with any fragrance that contains oud (other than TF Oud Wood which realistically must just be a name for some kind of skies and clouds, fantasy type of oud he imagined or something), cloves are a tough note for me as well if it isn't subtle, and even Vetivers have always been a very hit or miss note for me. Strangely enough, the 1st time I smelled this in Bloomingdale's I immediately could tell that it had both of these notes along with the saffron which also can be polarizing, YET I was enamored with it and went back the next day to buy it. It still is a shock to me how the overall composition of a fragrance which has so many notes that I don't normally spring for can create such a unique aura and scent bubble. I have received MANY compliments from this one as well, and surprisingly from men and women of all ages. I originally thought this might be one of those fragrances I wear for me in my alone time, BUT for me just one spray on my chest under my shirt in the morning and it is a perfect office scent. On cool evenings, the cloves and saffron seem to come out a little more, and almost have a warming effect. And on warm summer days I somehow notice the Vetiver and Cloves working together to create a seemingly fuzzy, nutty type of feel that is somehow cooling. Kind of a chameleon of a scent really. I agree with another review below that this is almost like a mix of Guerlain's Original Vetiver, Versace Man (the AMAZING "Purple Szrp" version they sadly discontinued), and ELdO's Fat Electrician, which even saying that surprises me how much more I like this scent than each of those individually. Every time I wear this I get about 6-10 hours of Longevity and a pretty consistent 3-6 foot bubble, I love catching wafts of this throughout the day or night and interestingly it's one of the first scents that almost doesn't end with just a skin scent like everything else. After the mid and into the dry-down it really maintains a great Sillage and doesn't evolve much from there, which is perfect cause it is not overbearing, it is enjoyable to many people, and is just persistent enough that you always know it's there. I guess that sounds like a pretty good description of the word Dignified to me. 🧐

I am not a fan of oud at all. Maybe cause Im young, but to me Oud smells the same as a Michaels craft store. Thats not a bad thing but just not a fan of smelling that way. I like woody scents not my first choices but I like me a good woody or wood resin type scent here and there!! I got the House of sillage sample pack cause I wanted to test the numbered scents. I had no idea this was included and tried this one out of the bunch first and wow was I caught off guard cause I looked at the note breakdown on here first and I was already thinking, “Yo Im gonna hate this”. Not a fan of middle eastern type scents at allllllllllllllll and this looked like one to me, Saffron, Oud, Cloves?! I read all the comments and the ones that actually broke down the scent (cause I didn’t bother looking on the site) And it still scared me a little. But this one my gosh, I sprayed some on and jeeze is all I can say, this is the first time I enjoyed Oud in a scent!! Honestly Im a huge Bergamot and Cardamom fan and the way this is made my goodness its so good!! Im still sort of a noob in the scent world, but I can honestly appreciate how this was made. The Bergamot, the Cardamom, the Vetiver, and the Oud are the ones that shine in this scent here! It’s a classy scent that can be pulled off at either a nice dinner or in an office. This is bright but not too bright at the same time, it wont choke anyone out. Its just so nice, and it can be worn year round in my opinion. Now the power on this one wasn’t too big on my skin, and once it gets to the dry down you only get wood resin with a slight coolness to it. Over all this is a winner in my eyes fam. The price tho?! Im not too sure, I’ve bought only 2 expensive scents before Elysium from Roja and Sedley from PDM those 2 preform for me on my skin, this one not so much, I love it, but I can’t justify the price, if someone can suggest something super almost clone like similar to this please let me know. Shoot if push comes to shove tho, I may splash for this one (yes I liked it that much haha) Long story short this is a cool, sort of fresh Oud. If you’re young under 30 and haven’t liked Oud, then I would say this one can change your mind.

Back with an updated review of dignified. So I'd say this one has a lot more backbone than encre noir extreme, it's more noticeable, robust and you can easily smell it. I know this shouldn't matter but I was surprised to be complimented on this one by people who don't know that I am into fragrances. So to kind of sum up, it is a better, improved version of encre noir extreme but the price gap is still the price gap, one of the bigger ones when comparing a original classic to an improved version. I would say this, if you love the original DNA of encre noir, but are yearning for more quality in presentation and performance than this can be the answer IF you find it at a good price which I would say is under 200 euro/USD, about 180 is what I ended up paying and it didn't feel wrong. I hope this series of long reviews is helpful to anyone hunting for this, because it took me a long time to find one in the EU and more details sometimes can be helpful. Cheers! Gorgeous scent. Vetiver bomb. VERY remarkably close to Parfum De Marly Byerley - one of my faves. This is deeper slightly more resinous especially on the dry down where as Byerley has a brighter citrus in the dry down with a smoky incense feel ala Guerlain Vetiver Extreme. I now own 2 HOS and this is the fifth HOS I’ve tried that I want to buy - a definite winner however I already own Byerley and I find it hard to justify - having said that it took me two weeks of samples to make up my mind. None the less if you want a stinker(in a good sense) and a great example of a Vetiver this is one you will HAVE to try along with Guerlain Vetiver Extreme and Byerley - best of luck if you can settle on just one...

Better Encre Noir. Seriously, to deny the similarity is ludicrous, Dignified is built on Encre Noir. However, like EN, this smells good, it is more warm spicy, stronger, has decent sillage in the first two hours. It's not a bad frag and I wouldn't call it a clone, I would literally say this is an improvement on the original. I appreciate but don't particularly like EN so this won't be finding a home in my collection but the quality is good and on the brand website I frequently see it discounted do around 145 usd which I feel is a fair price for this. If something classy and minimalistic with a punch is your thing or you are a fan of Lalique's Encre Noir you will probably enjoy this.

I hate to admit it but this is quite amazing...actually smells dignified lol. The best vetiver-oud I've tried, but doesn't beat some standalone vetivers. I'm comparing it to Montale Greyland and Dior Eau Sauvage Parfum right now because they all give off the same vibe--sophisticated & collected late-20s to middle aged men in fitted suits (or at least button-up shirts)--even though they don't smell alike (yet are connected by vetiver). Verdict: This is the most formal, but I think Eau Sauvage Parfum suits me better.

Omg I absolutely want to swim in this stuff. It's so unique & lasts for days. Yes it's a bit pricey but you get what you pay for. Want the best? Be prepared to pay for it. I get an incredible smoky vetiver wth some clove & oud dancing around in the background.... SEXY AS IT GETS!

Later edit: I ended up buying it for a good price, around 180 euros. I think it's good for that price, I like it, the presentation is novel and I will update the scent impressions, full wear and the rest in the autumn.

Simply the best. Can't think of any other way to describe it. 11 on a 10 scale. Excellent longevity and very solid projection.

Notes from their official website: • Top: Bergamont, Cardamom, Saffron • Heart: Clove, Rose • Base: Agarwood, Cedar Wood, Vetyvier Haiti Dignified starts with a blast of vetiver, that at the opening, it is almost identical to Lalique's Encre Noire. As it dries down, the vetiver dials down, & a soft woody scent that very mildly sweet & spicy takes center stage. This woody scent is the combination of cardamom, oud, & saffron, in that order of dominance. It immediately clicked to me what this smells like, from the first few minutes: Maison Francis Kurkdjian Oud. Very similar! I prefer Dignified because it doesn't have the harsh opening Oud has. Also, there is an Omani (country of Amouage) niche house called Raydan. They have a gorgeous fragrance also similar to this called Cardamom Forest. More affordable & about similar quality. The smell of Dignified is really beautiful. It's soft, warm, woody. Friendly yet mysterious in a way. Is it worth the asking price? No. Maybe if you are utterly in love with the smell. Per millilitre, Dignified is as expensive as MFK Oud, & more expensive than Amouage. Mature, cooler weather wear. Overall, big "Like" but pass due to the price.

Delightful Initial blast of woody saffron and faint peppery spice. It's not mentioned in the notes but I get some patchouli in this as well although perhaps that's the vetiver; those notes read very similar to my nose sometimes. Not much evolution in the dry down.. it basically ends up the same as it started which is not meant as a criticism, its just what it is. Great performance.

Opens with a typical, stale oud accord. Gets nice as it balances out with a strong, wonderful damp vetiver. Really drives down an earthy, rooty, soily feel. Interchangeable, perfectly spicy clove and sweet saffron under/overtone. Very nice, niche and super earthy. Great blend. On par with N.001 in terms of quality, if not better.

Smelled on a paper strip: The note most prominent to me in this is the vetiver, but there is also a smoky note, making this a sort of second cousin to Encre Noire. I like it... but bang for the buck is questionable.

Definitely good, smells of quality and attractive. It gives me a somewhat similar vibe as 212 for men, particularly in the air. When smell up close you can pick up on the oud. Opens better than it evolves.

If you are thinking about buying this fragrance, don’t. Encre noir a l’extreme smells almost identical for $30 instead of dignified which is $285. To be fair HOS often has half off deals. Regardless encre noir is so much cheaper for a fragrance that smells almost identical. The only difference between the two is that EN has more depth than dignified. The only redeeming factor of dignified is the bottle. I love being able to push a button and the cap slide out of the way. Something about it makes me feel good about myself. However that feeling goes away when I realize that I spent $285 dollars for a fragrance that can be replaced so easily. If you can somehow justify spending an extra $255 just so that you can have some fancy bottle, then go for it. Not to mention dignified is only 75ml while encre noir is 100ml!

المبجل او الرجل المبجل Dignified الحقيقة كان لدي انطباع غير جيد بعد تجربة عطور هذه الدار بعطورها النسائية ولكن بعد تجربة هذا الرجالي بامتياز تغيرت وجهة النظر عطر يرتكز على على نجيل الهند بشخصيات متعددة بدء من بداية العطر الى نهايته الرائعه البداية تواجد كثيف لنجيل الهند ذو لمحة خشبية بلمسية مدخنه ولمحات ليمونة خافته بداية فيها تلك الجرأه والثقل الشيئ الكثير المرحلة الثانية ستجد ان وطأت نجيل بدات تخف تدريجيا لتظهر لمحات سويتيه من القرنل ولكن ليس بذلك الطابع الحاد الحار مع لمحات من العود الاقرب قي شكلها للدهن بطابع فخم عميق مع لمحات حلوه بفضل الزعفران ملاحظة دهن عود هنا ليس فيه تلك اللمحة التي لايفضلها او يركهاا الكثيرين (الرائحة الغير محببه المرحلة الاخيرة وهي المرحلة التي ستجعلك تسأل مرتدي العطر عن عطره اذا كنت رفضت العطر من بدايته لان نهاية العطر مختلفة تماما وجذريا عن بدايته التي كأنها تلك الاشراقة الصبحاية الجميلة بعد ليل مهيب فخم صاخب في نهاية العطر يصبح نجيل الهند اكثر نعومة ويشابة نجيل الهند في تلك العطور التي قدمته بقالب عشبي ارضي ليموني مع لمحات خشبية باردة ولمحات ذات طابع سكري او حلو بفضل الزعفران نهاية العطر ذكرتني كثيرا بعطر ستريكس من اورتو باريسي اما البداية ذكرتني بتلك الاجواء في عطور الفتيفر الرائعه مثل انكر نوار وسيكومور من شانيل وحتى عطر الفيتفير من ديور. وان كنت افضل هذا كثيرا على عطر ديور ثبات وفوحان العطر ممتاز النقطة الايجابية في هذا العطر تتويج الفتيفر بعدة شخصيات والاهم خاتمته بمثابة القرار الذي تحتاجه حول العطر والذي يقول لك اشتر العطر :) هذا مالدي صل على النبي ولاتنس ذكر الله دائما.

Created by Mark Buxton , Dignified for most people can be considered a hidden gem. Classy captivating scent that envelopes you in an aura of warm sophistication, it has the kind of smell which captures your attention even if you have smelled hundreds of fragrances before. Considering the premium price and the 75ml of juice most people will save this for special occasions only , fortunately the longevity and projection are in line with the premium price this scent has. There Is a fancier edition of this fragrance, it has the same juice inside with a different bottle. Worn this a few times. Top notes are classic earthy soily Vetiver and a tobacco accord that I think comes from the addition of clove. Vetiver becomes dominant as it does in many other perfumes with Vetiver & then it kinda calms down and you can smell the saffron. Dry down is a leathery, saffron Vetiver but I don’t get any oud at all.

Went to get samples from House of Sillage, $50 for 5 small samples including this. Not great, but not bad...$20 to ship it lol. On principle....no. I do want to sample this so I will check elsewhere but just a heads up about House of Sillage’s website.

Based on a decant, I can say that the fragrance per se is fine. However, after testing it on skin and on fabrics, I don't get the sillage other did find. It lacks longevity as well. If you are looking for sillage, test it before purchasing.

This juice goes for about $295 in my country. Dunno if it's the notes or aesthetics involved that makes it a "hauté parfumerié"! Sadly, it's available in a meagre 75ml luxe flacon. Still thinking about owning this. But...

Extremely good signature scent worthy formal fragrance.The oud lifts the vetiver and the added spices makes it float.Not heavy or cloying at all and can be worn any season. Good stuff.

This is a cross between Lalique Encre Noir and ELDO Fat Electrician. If you have either or, you don't need this, and they are way more "dignified" cheaper.

Yes, but think of all the sillage you'll get for $285! A housefull!
