UPDATE: I couldn't help myself and purchased a full cupcake. The more I wear it the more I love it. If you like Replica's By the Fireplace, I think you would like this one. But it is a tad softer on my skin, which I prefer. A Smokey Sweet Hug! Pure coziness. This is a smokey fragrance. I pick up on the pepper, slight fruitiness and a musky tea at opening. It gets more vanilla with dry down, which adds the touch of femininity needed. I liked this more than I thought I would. It actually gives me Gryffindor common room vibes, warm, cozy fireplace crackling. Good for fall or winter. Also reminds me of a the Hogwarts library in the evening. I was surprised at how much I liked this scent based on the profile. There is something sexy about this fragrance. Someone said 'Dark academia' and that does describe this well.

I've tried all four and, contrary to popular opinion, I found Hufflepuff to the the "generic" one of the bunch. Just a standard sugar/sweet. It's nice, but totally unmemorable. Gryffindor, though, oh it was an immediate love for me! Even though there is Ambroxan, it doesn't read synthetic. I have a lot of fragrances that have that in it and this was done very well, and very softly. I agree with Yalamdd, it's Hogwarts in a nutshell. Slightly sweet but not in the sugar cube Hufflepuff way. It's warm and inviting (which I attribute to the orris) and feminine but not in the traditional sense. Coco Mad has NOTHING on this! Not every fragrance that has patchouli in it is a clone of CM. I found Slytherin and Ravenclaw to be heavy on the masculine side. Slytherin to me, was OG Good Girl Gone Bad but more manly.

Dark academia, sexy, sweet, making out in a cozy library type vibes. I love it. It smells like a black, lavender MILK tea. With a baby shot of musk, full shot of espresso and creamy ambroxan whipped cream. My second favorite from the collection. A night time cold weather, DATE night perfume. Very feminine, but I can see a guy wearing this. He has to be smart though. Another Sugar, Spice & Everything Nice perfume. A darker, more intense version of Black Opium (Le Parfum) I need it. Accio! BISOUS

Completely re-writing my review now that I have a full bottle and given a full wear. This is indeed quite sweet (especially in the dry down) so I can see how this can be compared to a generic sweet designer scent, although this is a very light scent. I also totally get the patchouli here. Patchouli is not my favorite but it doesn't annoy me here but its a LOT of patchouli. TBH, totally bought this for the bottle and also when I found out I was Gryffindor, but I am pleased with the scent (suitable for date night).

I get spicy powdery medicinal, slightly feminine leaning side of unisex I love powdered scents so this is good for me. Got a sale price, also good. I did do the samples, this and huffinpuff ( or whatever - probably confusing the name with a ‘70s kids show) were my favorites with the other two leaning masculine but still nice, I’m not enough into Harry Potter to know what each house scent profile would be. It’s a nice scent - a 7/10

This is going to be a useless review but it smells like Gryffindor. If Gryffindor were to have a smell it would be this. Reminds me of a clean fragrant library in the loveliest of ways. Initial opening leans masculine but then it dries down and has a light fruity citrus. Not sweet, per day, but totally different than initial spray.

I smell Rum, bergamot and honey. It's fruity, and leans a bit feminine but could be unisex.

This reminds me a lot of Lancome's La Vie est Belle, but darker, more grown up and sophisticated with more character. I get the fruitiness, as well as the soft veil of patchouli that gives it a nice edge. The overall composition smells very smooth and no single note sticks out more than the others. I'd say if you're curious about it, get the discovery set so you can try all four scents of the collection for yourself and see what you do or don't like. Gryffindor is nice, but reminds me too much of LVEB. I have the Absolu flanker so it's just redundant for me personally, but it's still a very beautiful scent. And if you ended up liking any of the scents, I'd highly recommend waiting on a sale. This collection is still pretty new so it might be a minute until they go on sale, but it's worth it to get 50% off. I'm sure it'll go on sale for 30% off first, but I'll be sticking to my guns and waiting for that 50% because it'll inevitably come.

Musky, warm and cozy with a soft patchouli and vanilla in the dry down. This is beautifully blended and reminds me of bath and body works “Musk” body spray although it’s a fancy sophisticated version of it. I can’t detect other notes by themselves because it is so well blended it is just a masterpiece ! If you like musky patchouli fragrances this is one worth having in your collection.

The only thing this Fragrance line has against it is it's price. I would definitely say around the $100USD range would be fair, but $320 is quite a heavy tag. All of them seem so interesting to me, i actually believe that many "Potter heads" would actually buy one of each for collecting if it didn't come in that expensive.

MeadowHill you are right I would buy all of them if they were cheaper .I didn't try any yet, but Hufflepuff seems like the one I would like the best. And if I am correct, there has never been made any fragrance HP line till this one and all the bottles are so beautiful! The price is probably due to Swarovski crystals.

I bought the sample set. I also got the candles from the Homesick collab, all of which are good. This fragrance though... I should have liked it because I like all the individual notes aside from the floral which I am not sure I had smelled before. I don't like the floral and its heavy nature. Not for me.

Genuinely outraged that my Hogwarts house gives it’s name to a perfume with Ambroxan and Patchouli in it 🤣
