HoS N.001

I actually put this on yesterday at 4pm and today I woke up at 9am (so I’m going on 18 hours so far) for work and it’s still so potent that I don’t even have to reapply after showering. The craziest part is that 18 hours later I can’t smell it on my arm (must have rubbed off while sleeping) but I can still smell it projecting off my neck and I asked my girlfriend and she said she can smell it from about an arms length. Now this is the first time that it did perform this well. It usually only last about 15 hours, at least from what I can tell. It’s so delicious and almost creamy. It’s far from being synthetic, it’s noticeably high in quality and becomes extremely smooth after the dry down, although it can be harsh in the opening if over sprayed.I had about four compliments yesterday from a couple ladies at Saks while shopping with my girlfriend. She complimented it as well but she always does because she bought it for me because she loves it. I had one interesting compliment though, one of the ladies said I smelled like a delicious hot, cinnamon chai latte, something I have never really thought of and on my skin it actually does smell like that and I love it even more now. Warning, don’t over spray! By the way I honestly hated this fragrance when my girlfriend gave it to me. I didn’t tell her of course, but the top notes reminded me of those cinnamon scented pine cones that actually make me sick but after I gave it a shot I realized it’s not that at all. Anyway here’s my review. Scent: 9.5/10 gorgeous scent. The opening is nice but the dry down is where this shines. Sillage: 10/10 excellent without ever being cloying projection: 10/10 a little more than arms length for the first 6 hours for me and a little less than arms length after that but for me it never becomes a skin scent. Longevity: 10/10 15+ hours Overall: 9.9/10

It has cherry accord in the opening, together with cinnamon and a little bit of clove. Very jammy, candy like opening. In about half an hour the overly-sweet smell transform into a more seductive, warm, spicy woody aroma (I can get a very elegant Mohogany touch in the background). I am not into gourmands, but this one loses it's eatable nature in the dry down, where I think it's where this perfume shines. Very elegant, comforting, high-class scent, perfect for night outs, and formal occasions. I can see this one being complimented (not my case so far...), and taking some attention in the short distances. Not a beast in projection, but it provides a good scent bauble around you for quite long time, and in the clothes stays for days. The biggest problem here, in my opinion, is the high price tag for what you get. Bottle is really nice, so I can see this more in the shelf of a collector rather than a casual perfume aficionado. I'm surprised almonds aren't listed as a note because comparing this side by side with an almond extract, you can clearly smell the similarities. The opening reminds me of a cherry coke I used to drink as a kid. A sweet, syrupy, slightly medicinal cherry. Then as it mellows out a bit that cherry note becomes less medicinal and smoother. As it dries down the smell of cherry/almonds, sugar, cinnamon, vanilla, and an underlying creaminess undoubtedly remind me of baking fresh almond croissants. I agree with others that this is definitely not something everyone can wear and pull off, but it is something that everyone will probably enjoy smelling.

The opening reminds me of the exact cherry cough syrup smell I got from YSL M7 when it first came out. I can see why people are relating it to Side Effect, Tobacco Vanille, and Herod, because it has that thick resinous cinnamon spice going for it. I still can't get the original M7 out of my head on this one though. Worth a smell if you get a chance. Edit: in the later hours of the drydown it turns into the smell of of a cinnamon cookie.

This is one of those fragrances that not everyone can ( or should) wear. This is not for a wallflower. It has personality and it will bring attention to you like it or not. The notes are warm, yet they stay subtle, restraining their power. I'm guessing 001 can be cloying if over sprayed but if you are careful this is a delightful fragrance. Attractive and oh so masculine. A wonderful discovery.

I get enigma vibes in the initial opening but it goes in a different direction. It’s hard for me not to believe there isn’t tobacco in here because I swear I can smell it. It maintains a cherry cola vibe of the skin. I get the cinnamon, vanilla, tonka and amber with some clove. It’s sweet, spicy gourmand. It’s a love for me. Performance is above average but not nuclear. 9/10

Oh my... a little heavy on the cinnamon but my god what a unique fragrance. By far one of my favorites. The projection is through the roof & longevity is a stellar performance at roughly 10+ hours on my skin. Doesn't take much so go easy but at this price, it's what should be expected... ABSOLUTELY ADORE THIS FRAG!

Smooth, creamy, sweet, winter spices and cherry. Such an agreeable, crowd pleasing, unisex gourmand fragrance. Nothing revolutionary or too different, but a very pleasing scent none the less.

Beautiful Gourmandish Cherry Oud. Liqueur Cherry bon-bon. Do not overspray it. Let your nose get use to it and you're just gonna love it. My shirt is still screaming HOS 001 from the laundry

At the office it unanimously slayed Tom Ford's Tobacco Vanille. Gourmand woody cherry vanilla whipped cream. Stellar performance, excellent choice for a sweet gourmand-ish scent.

I did not get the tobacco at the initial projection. Dry down definitely tobacco vanille. The cinnamon that I get from Angel Share comes through. Love it.

Considering the notes this is deceptively, if not exceptionally smooth. Ive been meaning to try this since it came out, but looking at the notes I was a little worried that maybe it might be a little harsh/funky/or to masculine.. And even reading some of the reviews some people talking about that it was to strong, or even to sweet.... Well I don't think that should be a problem for anyone. I don't think its to sweet at all, only thing I can say is, it is thick and rich, so I can see if you don't like sweet scents at all, or don't want something thick, than maybe it might irk you. But in terms of actual sweetness it isnt very high on that scale. Speaking of the notes again I don't like to use the term "well blended" really that you see so often used by some reviewers because honestly it feels disingenuous to me. I don't care how many fragrances ive smelled, I don't make perfume so who am I to say how something is made. And certainly at the same time something overly synthetic as well can smell just as good as something "well blended" so what does that even really mean at the end of the day? But my point is though again looking at the notes anything that potentially could seem harsh, i get nothing of, its just extremely smooth, maybe there is a slight kick at the beginning but really nothing. No sharp edges to this at all. Because of that even perhaps the performance is sadly only decent because there really isn't much to tickle your nose to really catch others attention. Anyway what does it smell like, im having trouble pin pointing anything. I do agree maybe its kinda a cherry liquer sorta smell, a vanilla cherry coke. Maybe even something like a cherry wood incense stick that is giving off a slight tobacco, woody, cherry, aura. And again i say aura, not a smoke, or incense it self because the fragrance is just so damn smooth I feel like calling it any kinda smoke would not be doing it justice, and therefor even this thought is not correct... Maybe a dark wooden room, theres some vanilla candles in the air. The only thing that is bringing light to it as its night. Theres a red hue in the room from the light reflecting your surroundings. There might be a fireplace because its warm inside, but you can't smell anything harsh, all you smell is this comfortable aura that makes you want to close your eyes and cuddle. Or well depending on how many hot girls you are with you probably wanna smash all night too... So ya I struggle to say what it smells like or what it calls to mind specifically but it is a very nice snuggly, potentially sexy and even a little tasty aura to it. Very wearable again, not particularly masculine either in my mind. Just a nice smell. Can't justify the price with my disposable income for fragrances as it is, but maybe when the time comes ill get a decant of it.

This sampling of the house of House of Sillage, HOS N.001, a sweet and spicy mix that immediately strikes me as a sort of cherried tobacco, an exaggerated variation of Mugler A*Men Pure Havane, though it lacks both cherry and tobacco in the note breakdown. Rather, it’s a mix of sweets (vanilla, tonka), spices (cinnamon, ginger, clove), and resins/woods (cedar, mahogany, amber, oud), the overall effective of which is largely more sweet than spicy or woody. I wouldn’t say it’s a sweetness overload, however, as it feels reasonably refined, and reminds me also of Acqua di Parma Mandorlo di Sicilia along the lines of smelling like effervescent root beer a bit. There’s something nutty, surely the tonka, in the way that that the almond features in the almond-named Mandorlo di Sicilia. The oud feels undetectable, however, as I do not get any of its animalic or medicinal twinges when wearing, and the spices are relatively tame—neither the cinnamon nor ginger nor clove stand out very much, though I could imagine each being part of the mix. Overall, HOS N.001 is easy to wear for fans of sweet fragrances like me, I imagine, and is reasonably versatile to that effect in that it’s not so heavy to be overbearing on a summer evening but certainly strong enough for the winter cold. And while some might regard it as masculine, I could see it being unisex, particularly given many of its foody notes . Sold at Saks Fifth Avenue, Neiman Marcus, Bloomingdale’s, and the house site, HOS N.001 retails for $285 for 75ml, though it’s currently on sale on the house site for $213.75, though I’ve recently seen it as low as $142.50 (50% off). At the lowest price (under $2/ml), it’s quite a good deal, albeit a bit more of a stretch at retail. For me, personally, it’s a bit more of a “like” than a “love” and I feel it’s well-executed overall but a couple notches below Mugler Pure Havane, which it initially reminded me of, albeit comparable to Acqua di Parma Mandorlo di Sicilia, which might be a better analogy for what it does best, the sort of unrelenting, nutty, almost candied sweetness. 7 out of 10

Little bit of a re-visiting re-review since ive gotten to wear this a bit more... I agree with the general idea I first said in my original review. Something like a vanilla whip cream with cherry on top, on a sorta wooden incense stick. That is giving off a comfortable non harsh aura of tobacco. The boozyness of it would be the tinge and tingle of the perhaps cherry liquor or a vanilla cherry coke. I do agree there is a very slight tobacco vanillish aspect to it, more particularly in the opening when the spices are stronger. But lets get to what id like to add to my original review. I think this one wearing this more in the very cold weather actually smells a little better when its a little hotter out. The colder weather really makes the cold whip cream, the juiciness of the cherry, the cinnamon mix, and that tingle and tinge on the nose from the varnished oud note really come out more. The "cold" tickle if you will thought comes out more, and its a little less snuggly to me I think. I would say as well to add more to what I said about despite the notes this is not a harsh fragrance at all so they can be misleading. And indeed not only not harsh, although I havnt worn this a lot as is, around girls and other people I was getting a lot of comments that they found it to sweet, hell I got multiple comments that I was way to masculine to wear anything this sweet. lol Dont get me wrong I did have some girls tell me they liked it, and heard some unsolicited comments to that effect. But again adding to what I said strangely despite the notes is not harsh, and potentially even to SWEET if anything it seems for some. Its not to me but take that as you will. Also deceptive performance at first.. Just 2 sprays to my neck nearly chocked me out for the first couple hours lol.

A friend of mine sent me a discovery set. I've heard a lot of bad things about this house like they're massively overpriced, they pay for positive reviews, they have no sillage, their Glassdoor reviews are terrible etc 😂. But I'm going to test a handful of these with an open mind and let the fragrances speak for themselves. First Impression: it's very nice. It's not stunning, or going through radical niche transitions, but I'd certainly wear this if I had a bottle, although it remains to be seen if I'd buy one. But the cinnamon is well done (I'm picky about cinnamon) and I'm getting the cloves, tonka, ginger, a cherry or berry note, and some wood. It's not oud and doesn't read as cedar, but it's not bad. Overall, this is a solid composition that I'll happily wear again. Scent 7.9/10 Performance TBD

Spiced amber and vanillac cinnamon. The vanilla compound is a touch synthetic for my taste. Cloying, especially side by side with sweet amber. This one is very wearable. Strong and out of the ordinary. A touch of tonka. I don’t smell much else. I can see N.001 being a signature scent, if you don’t have other expensive-smelling options. Semi-safe blind buy. I’m happy about sampling this first and I don’t need a full bottle. Seems like more of an entry level option in the niche market, despite the price. Not bad!

Wearing this the day after wearing Naxos and there are some similarities but Naxos clearly the superior fragerence in terms of nuance. This is a slightly dryer but not quite as pretty tobacco note, more vanilla and less chocolate. I do detect some oud but its not super dominant. There is a pretty intense boozyness here especially in the opening which is really nice; almost a brandy soaked Christmas cake. This and No 4 are my favorites from the No series from HoS.

The opening can be very harsh, reminds me of cough syrup or some kind of medicine, but the drydown is amazing, very sophisticated and rich, like some very creamy, gourmand pastry. The only downside is that is very pricey. I got myself a decant and I don't think I will go for a fb.

- Buy it - Try it - Bye bye it ** This opens very, very sweet. I can't remember wearing anything with such a sweet opening. Maybe you all can remind me of something comparable. It's not a sugar-sweet (like a CH Men) and I don't get a gourmand cherry. Just dense & super sweet is the best I can do. I see why community members voted on notes the way they did... all the sweet stuff gets top billing. This opening not for me & I find the first one/two hours off-putting. After a couple hours some of the spiciness comes through, making it better, but not that great. However... Once when wearing 001, a few hours in, when I thought the spice was coming through, I asked a friend who hadn't been around me all all day what she though. She said it was way too sweet. I may have been able to notice any spice or woods at all later on only because the opening blew out my olfactory receptors. In the deep dry down I do get more of the wood notes listed here. This one's not for me and I'd say it's not a blind buy unless you're someone who really loves the uber-sweet ones.

What a weak and okish scent, just list most of the house's scents. I have now tried them all several times and none really catch my attention. Very banal, weak, common scents. Nice but nothing to write home about IMO.

Huge disappointment! It doesn't smell natural, it has a plasticky vibe like low quality fragrances. It reminds me a lot of well known fragrances but the cheap version of them. All the hype it got from some youtubers was paid promotion in my opinion.. Try before you buy!!

I very rarely ever outright dislike a fragrance. I can see why some would like this scent, but to me it just smells like medicinal hubba bubba bubble gum.

Synthetic smelling vanilla with a clove bomb. I don’t get any wood in this, let alone oud. To me it smells like tabacoo. Cloying af. 2/10

I wanted to love this I really did. It has a beautiful woodsy tonka cherry vibe that if I didn't know better I would assume is meant to compete with Feve Deliciuse. It falls flat on performance though. I have since tried my own bottle, a tester in a store, and an official sprayer sample from HOS (not a decant or luckyscent sample) just to make sure and all of them just fall flat on their face. Mit races to the drydown in under 30 minutes and stops projecting after 10. Seriously. I have thisty skin but come on this is unacceptable. Dior Prive has historically poor projection on me but when Feve Deliciuse is outperforming a House of Sillage? Back to the drawing board folks. I wanted to love this. I really did. Scent: 8/10 gorgeous woodsy slightly powdery gourmand. Could have easily been a signature. Projection: 2/10 weaksauce. Sillage: 1/10 it leaves no train. Longevity: 3/10 it's only detectable as a point-blank skin scent after the first hour and pretty much fades entirely after the third hour post-application. Would I buy another bottle? No. At HOS prices and with their reputation I expected way more. A disappointing showing.

I chose "all" as to the time to wear, but don't really mean it literally...what I mean is that it's definitely more of a night-out, cooler weather (if worn in the daytime) type of fragrance. Right away, it can be clawing...the cinnamon and spiciness of the clove DOMINATE the opening, for about the first 10-15 minutes. But hold on....when the initial shock wears off, this stuff is gorgeous! the amber and Tonka really start to show their proverbial faces, with the cinnamon sticking around, just reminding you that it's there, but in a much more toned-down way. I've heard of there being a cherry/vanilla soda feel to this, and I get that a little bit, but not in any negative way (as in, "this is too sweet") but in a complementary manner to the ever-present spiciness. Further dry-down brings a nice smooth creaminess that makes me keep wanting to smell my points of contact (arms) to keep enjoying it as much as I can. Great stuff!

A sweet take on the original Dignified. N.001 is a lightly woody, spicy vanilla scent. It smells like a gourmand flanker of the original HoS Dignified. N.001 is a sweet, smooth vanilla scent with bit of soft spiciness from the cinnamon & touch of woodiness. Not a unique smell. I feel as if smelled something like it before. Also, it remimds me a bit of Tom Ford Noir Extreme. Both share the sweet, spicy vanilla accord. Is it worth the price? In my opinion "no". But again, if you really love the smell to the point of obsession, then it's worth it for you. Cool weather gourmand wear for all ages. "Like"

Some notes of it remind me of Amouage Epic Woman, can’t put my finger on them, but it’s definitely there. Heavy-ish, balsamic accord, but just a tad less feminine than it is in the Epic Woman. Overall interesting, feels quite deep, but still linear scent, as it seems to be the trend with this house. Though exceptional longevity and sillage, as usual. Works in winter, but should work well in spring, also. I can’t imagine buying whole 75ml of it, but 20-30ml would be great for occasional wear (as someone who loves wearing unusual scents daily, can’t fathom wearing this one daily).

Five stars for the bottle and packaging presentation. Love the way you push a button and the nozzle protector slides away. Spicy and sweet. The ginger, oud and clove dominate for the first 10-20 minutes. After an hour or so, the amber and cinnamon notes are there, giving it a very intense heart. Two hours out and the vanilla keeps it very creamy and rich. It has absolutely incredible longevity, 12 hours and I'm still getting a whiff every now and then. Sillage is very good, and never cloying. Top notch.

As others have noted, the opening is almost sickly sweet, I dare say...Invictus bubblegumish? In a similar vein to the candy smell that persists in Dolce Amalfi. From there it settles into a more woody and cherry-pipe tobacco smell. The spices and woods create this coca-cola almost cherry dr. pepper smell; not as intense as RJ Engima, but reminiscent. Performance is great and the bottle is kind of neat. Not worth retail, though. Find a partial or decant.

Here we go again, Lol. This is why I sample EVERYTHING first. You can NEVER rely on people's reviews. It just blows my mind how it can go from "still smell it the next day, after a shower". "Careful! 2 sprays, and I was good all day". To... "What a waste! "Projects for 10 min., gone after 30". Really??? Please do yourself a favor, and get a decant/sample of whatever frag you are interested in. Well worth the little investment.

i really like the cherry opening in this. sweet plasticky marachino cherry. reminds me of hints of side effect. maybe some oils used in this scent could be the some of the ones used in side effect. the crafmanship of the bottle is 10/10 with its red ruby glass bottle and gold upper case with a button. you can get this on offer for £120. shipping is the same as the price of the fragrance.

I am not a fan: sweetness does not scare me but one-dimensional cherry note mixed with one-dimensional synthetic oud does!! :) This fragrance lacks depth and complexity to my taste but if you like cherry note as a dominant note (like alternative to TF Lost Cherry) - you should check this one out. I would get a sample first though...

It has tremendous performance/silage ! I also get the cherry ... like cherry popsicle. I can smell it on the test strip 1week later strongly . I have a feeling it’s a pretty linear scent , ... seems common with many of the performance beast though . It’s good and gourmand , but at this price a no go for me a pass

Seriously potently sweet. I'm a gourmand lover but this is a NO GO for me. That sweet medicinal hit is like a hard punch to the gut. You can't even tone this fragrance down. If I remember HOS did have others in their line that I liked. But 001 is a monster, it's IT the clown, don't stare into its deadlights.

Cinnamon bomb, almost like a Christmas potpourri candle (I can't stand the smell of potpourri). In the dry down I get the same wood note as a $8/bottle from Kanon Norwegian Wood. I was excited about this, but it's too much on the candied cinnamon, plus the mundane cheap woody dry down. Pass.

Smelled on a paper strip: This is a strong, boozy, cherry liquor scent. The oud in it is near the medicinal, cough syrup quality of the original YSL M7... My first take on it was that I liked this, but I'm not sure I could smell it on myself all day. Big WOW Factor.

This smells really good and high quality.. But i dont wanna smell like it! Sparkling Coca cola, champagne, cherry, ginger. My girlfriend loves it, so I gave my decant to her.. not loud scent but it last a good time. I love gourmands but not this. 6.5/10

Yuck. In the vial smells like hua lu shui, ie perfumed mosquito repellent. Iykyk. On the skin... powdery clove with a resin that gives fuel. Not a good smell, got that pungent perfumey quality about it. Price is hilarious.

Beautiful unique cherry fragrance for men. High quality but fleeting. In my top 10 rotation. Highly recommended. Best blind buy ever!
