Passion de l’Amour

I ordered a House of Sillage discovery set and when I initially started wearing the different scents, I was underwhelmed. When I first sprayed this on I didn't love it. It opens strong and a bit sour and I screwed my nose up a bit. And then the sweetness hit. And oh my, the heady spice mix, the sweet and fruity and smooth oud goodness. I cannot stop smelling myself when I wear it, it is delicious on skin. It gets very hot and humid here in the summer and I think this will be too heavy then but it is perfect for the cool autumn nights were having now. I ordered the full bottle despite the heavy price tag because I plan to wear this all winter. I'm finding that nearly all the HoS fragrances I got are better with a few wears, to give yourself time to appreciate their complexities. I kind of wish I hadn't discovered this because now I want Benevolence and Hauts Bijoux and Chevaux D'Or too, and lordy those cupcake bottles are expensive.

Absolutely in love with! I get the tartness of the raspberry, the saffron and the oud mainly. No vanilla comes to my nose and I am not familiar enough with amyris, lily of the valley or liatris to say that I can smell them individually. BUTTTT this fragrance is so beautiful, in one layer the fruits make it light airy summery and flirty and in the under layer the oud gives it this dark nuance. Its like a beautiful woman who has terrible secrets haha. The oud in it is not heavy nor animalic, but comes off more like a dark woody scent. It is not a safe blind buy (even though i did) because of the oud. projection for me was a little more than arm's length and this fragrance lasted on me for over 12 hrs! which is amazing because my skin is typically dry and eats up fragrances quickly. Very glad i liked it, especially seeing that price tag, but I bought at a 40% discount from the site.

I love this frag, BUT I will say, as I've said on other HOS reviews...IMHO the "male" counterpart to MOST of their frags lean more "fem" than the actual feminine version. This is unisex...BUT the "male" version has more vanilla, fresh, sweet woodsy smell...while this version is more Oud, amyris, Saffron, & liatris, with hints and waves from, a light rasberry(not overly sweet at all), and patchouli. Just much more masc than the male version of this, same goes for the Ruby reign line, and batman BOTH frags are perfectly unisex imo. So keep that in mind. The ruby reign is SUPER masc, while the male version is much much much more fem. I traded with my fiance he agreed 100% on with opinion and wad happy to trade. But I still enjoy this fragrance very much. It's unique imo, an oud, forrest, fresh, spicy scent blended and done very well.

Wow, this house is seriously pretentious with its boring perfumes and cheap notes and unnecessarily high price tag. What you’re paying for is the cupcake bottle. That’s where 75% of the money goes to and I’m too much of a true scent lover to fall for a weak, generic perfume in a fancy bottle. Out of the ten samples I tried in the discovery kit, only one actually stood out as pretty decent. The rest are nothing special and not worth the high price tag. Save your money and buy two very well made perfumes. You have to remember , when the juice is gone u will be left with a useless cupcake perfume bottle. Cute but useless nevertheless.

I'm always looking for fragrances that have aoud as a background note without it taking over the entire fragrance. House of Sillage has created that in Passion de l'amour. This is a beautiful fruity perfume where the bergamot and raspberry really balance out the aoud and vanilla. It's very sweet, but the woody notes keep it from being too cloying. This is definitely going on my list of fragrances to purchase.

Now let me give you an honest review. This is amazing. Doesn't smell like anything in my collection which is rather large. It does start off a little citrusie and then the fruit and Vanilla comes through. You hardly can smell the oud. I believe it's only here to give the perfume a little debt. My husband keeps complimenting me on this one. Try it and you will like it. This fragrance has definitely wowed me.

Very nice, I’m getting all the notes at once. I only have a 10ml decant but it’s ok. I can’t wear the other hundreds of perfumes I already have. Although....I would love a pretty bottle. But this one is crazy expensive and I just don’t love it that much. For the money I’d rather buy a Roja

Thank goodness they used Oud and carmel, however, I can not smell the vanilla. Because of the Oud and carmel makes it last over an hour.This is an all year round day But, I will purchase Carnal Flower by Frederic Malle because it is better for me.

Sweet,warm and fudgelike at first, and after a while you detect the agarwood.It is really a scent up my alley.. I think it is a fragrance which reminds me of Angel in a good way.. The pricetag on this is not my cup of tea, though.

I am so in love with this fragrance! It smell absolutely wonderful! I can't believe a soft fruity floral gourmand oud scent exist! The scent last all day which is unbelievable! It's a beautiful addition to my fragrance collection!

You must enjoy oud to rock with this one. It is a fruity saffron cloaked in the most Oud. It’s an evening only fragrance for me, in heat or cold weather. Think of bond’s nomad or Xerjoff’s la capital elevated for a ballgown.

I feel the same as the previous reviewer. Initially, this was awful. Just a loud screeching mess, but I gave it some time and the dry down is beautiful. Great longevity and silage.

Love it! Was my first favorite from the house. Top 5 for sure. Unique, interesting and seductive are what this fragrance makes me feel.

PdlA is my first try-out from this house and I have to say, I'm impressed! It's a sweet, fruity oud with a soft, come hither sillage. Perfect date-night option. Other sweet ouds I have can be loud and dense which relegates their use in "cold weather" (CA) only but the oud here is subtle; lending an understated elegance to an otherwise sweet (maybe typical?) gourmand. Seems to be great quality too. Projection is not quite arm's length but it lasts and lasts. That said, the sillage is where it's at! I'd be compelled to stop someone to ask what they're wearing with this on. It's absolutely alluring. I've heard lots of chatter about HoS being overpriced scents, where the bottle is attributed to the high price tag rather than the quality of the juice, which was why I was hesitant to try. I have to say though, this offering makes me want to try more from the house. Yes, those cupcakes are fabulously bougie but, without knowledge of other offerings, this is so wearable which may justify cost per wear. I'd certainly pick up a bottle on a discount. A wearable sweet oud for summer nights? Yes, please!

I really love how this smells! I agree with the previous reviewer about it smelling like cardamom and raspberry cake, and I also get the hint of saffron and oud. This perfume seriously takes the cake for projection and longevity. Two sprays on my forearm last week was too much of a good thing, I was in a thick dizzying cloud of scent. A tiny bit got on the sleeve of my robe, and the smell was still going extremely strong on that sleeve five days later! I learned my lesson. The next time I used Passion de l’Amour, I only sprayed one spray onto the bottom edge of my shirt. That was perfect, I got consistent wafts of the scent for hours, without it being overwhelming. I think this one smells better on fabric than skin. Super beautiful fragrance, would be a great date night option!

get a woody warm scent , a bit different from the other frags. A fall-time fragrance. I get a bit of Amyris. I don't get the Raspberry, not that unique still. after 15 minutes, its still oudy and balsamic, no sweetness. This is more for older aged women and smells like it doesn't belong in HOS category of fragrances. id give it an 8/10, its not unique but not bad.

This is luxe. I mostly pick up on raspberry, caramel, and a nice smooth oud. It's sweet and sexy, but not too sweet. This would pair perfectly with a little black dress, it's the perfect special occasion fragrance.

To me, it smells very similar to Bvlgari Jasmin Noir! It's also reminiscent of mystical places where they have incense on and such. It's good, I would say elegant and for the sophisticated older crowd.

Blind bought the pocket spray samples in hopes the top notes would come through and that the patchouli wouldn't be present. Any patchouli, cedar, sandalwood, musk get pulled out fragrances on my skin as a heads up. I have a few perfumes which have one of those things on them and they're OK, but they much be outliers. Extremely strong patchouli, very "perfumey" smelling like fake floral? And it has a hint of something I can't put my finger on. Methanol maybe vs gasoline? As it dried down, I think the powdery oud started to come out, which I could tolerate if the patchouli didn't hit me in the face so dramatically. Not a lick of any fruit. Clearly based on the other reviews I'm definitely atypical in my feelings. I so wish the actual pleasant notes came out. Update: drydown an hour later on my clothing is more pleasant. I get whiffs of a clean laundry smell. Still smells awful on my skin, which is a bummer. Update 2: been trying to wear this bc I've determined despite the "old lady" hit you in the face gasoline noxious nauseating opening, if I suck it up for an hour or so i think the clean laundry whiff is the liatris and lily of the valley? Still can't determine if I actually like this, or if it ages me. I think both and I wish I could neutralize the patchouli. I need someone else to sniff me, or tell me how to neutralize that one smell.

It's a beast mode fragrance at first, but it does shift gears as you wear it... I get a fruity oud opening before the saffron becomes noticeable. A little more masculine than I like personally, however the vanilla does help to smooth & soften the scent midwear. After a while it becomes a soft, spicy blend of vanilla & oud. I can definitely see why people have voted "unisex" because the oud is the star of this show. For me, it's not a favorite, but I can appreciate the beauty in this fragrance. For layering, Mugler Angel Nova comes to mind..✨️

Sweet, but somehow tumultuous. An afternoon jaunt for high tea in a posh vintage car that ends with a tire puncture on the side of the road. Starts with Earl Grey and cardamom and some raspberry cake, but oddly (oud-ly?) finishes with ice cream melting on asphalt. I like it, but not enough to buy it.

This is an Oud and patchouli tapestry of a perfume. I like it but the earthiness of the patchouli seems to be taking over on my skin. It makes the whole blend unbalanced and too masculine on me 😔 Ironically enough, the men’s version smells d i v i n e on my skin 😂 Go figure!!! 🖤💚❤️

The bottle is a cupcake for a reason. This is just WAY way too sweet for me. Think pink sugar or that marshmallow kilian love one except multiply it by 100. I also detect some odd sort of plastic note that is really hindering my enjoyment of this. This would probably be good for those who like very sweet celeb fragrances (and I actually don't mind those, and even like some very sweet frags) but the price tag is just extreme.

Literally smells like burnt rubber/gasoline/kerosene on me. Do not blind buy this one!

Why did I try this? I have yet to find a fragrance with "Oud" I've liked. I had to break down the olfactory and note composition to find out what in this is bothering me so much. Notes from the HOS website (different then fragrantica) - Top Notes: Saffron, Raspberry - Heart Notes: Caramel, Amyris Oil - Base Notes: Oud, Liatrix Absolute Liatrix absolute scent is described as: spicy, sweet, coumarin, herbal, tobacco. Oud scent depends on the tree that produces the resin, ranging from woody to sweet, earthy with notes of leather and spices... oud to me always smells like a barnyard. I think it's the oud and liatrix absolute combination that is punching me in the face. When I really hate a fragrance it seems to never wash off. Enter beast mode. The longevity and sillage is top notch with this scent.

This had so much promise. Starts out fresh with the saffron and bergamot, a little screechy but mellows out into a soft raspberry cake but not too sweet as the amyris makes an appearance and you're digging the party. You're walking off the dancefloor to get a drink and just sit back and enjoy the vibe for a moment when suddenly there's a soaked in sweat stranger, grabbing you by the arm, trying to pull you back to the dancefloor. You're trying to shake out of his grasp, but he's not having it. He wraps you up in his arms and pulls you up tightly into his body. You feel the wetness of his wet soaked tshirt as your nostrils fill with his rancid smell. Oh no! It's Mr. wet patchouli. Way to ruin my vibe and the party dude.

It's a fruity sticky sweet oud. yuck. The House of Sillage bottles are so darling but have not found one fragrance I like. This brand leans too heavily into the vanilla for me. I understand it fits the brand cupcake theme but it is just tooo much.

This is the juice in a, House of Sillage Passion de l’Amour Edition Privée, 344.000 EUR bottle (normal bottle is around 285,- EUR, still a heavy price tag). The most expensive in the world right now. Gorgeous to see, a masterpiece crafted in France. Colombian emeralds, solid gold, marquís diamond, mother of pearl, platinum and more diamonds. Now this is eyecandy. The first thing that stands out is the cosmetic kind of body, which makes it smell like a high end face wash, very refreshing! Then comes the sweetness. Oh my, this one and Tiara are both the sweetest scents in range of HoS. A vibrant bitter citrus, probably the bergamot, combined with the candy like raspberry give a good 'crossroad' to the skin. On one it turns more to the bitter and elegant side (on my friend), and on my skin the sweetness blooms more. That being said, it makes a difference on the weather type wearing it. If too cold outside (first tested in march) it tends to become sour. If tested in warmer weather (july) she's a lot more friendly and sweetly indulging. Underneath there lies a musky or animalic tone, which I cannot really identify clearly. On the strip she becomes a little off-putting (zesty bitter citrus), but this one must be tested on skin and not on strip is my advice. She dries down and a wonderful combination of oudh and patchoeli rises above. The patchoeli is wet-earthy, like in JS's Fancy Nights. Clean and true to nature, not synthetic at all. On the background a very soft hint of vanilla and the brightness of lily-of-the-valley. Over time she keeps developing and is able to change it's form in many ways it's weird that this is all in one perfume. The sillage is very friendly, but only one spray is recommended, she can hold for easily a day. All in all not my personal favourite, but honestly said the quality is outstanding.

I avoided sampling anything from this house for a while, but finally broke down and got my hands on both discovery sets of the Signature line and the Whispers in the Garden collection. Passion de l'Amour is one of the very few that stood out to me. The rest either smelled like something that I already have, or something that I've sampled and know I don't like. But it's undeniable that this house certainly takes inspiration from other scents to create theirs. I will say that if you already have a pretty extensive collection or have gotten your nose on a LOT of scents to date, you might find yourself not very impressed with the offerings from this house. All the more reason why I would highly recommend sampling rather than blind buying. This fragrance is predominantly a fruity oud with a massive helping of caramel which I personally love. It's light enough (due to the bergamot and the airy fruitiness from the raspberry) that it can be worn in the warmer months, but still has enough depth and weight to hold its own in the cooler months. I really do adore this scent, but I don't think I'd pay full retail price for a bottle. I'm hoping it'll be included in one of their many sales at some point.

NO! I have several fragrances from the House of Sillage, and this one is my least favorite. First of all, I don't understand why such a heavy gourmand oud would not project... like it's almost too heavy and oily to project. Even freshies from this house have a better performance. Oud is not skanky or animalic, it's warm and woody. However, on my skin it smells like gasoline. It smells nice from the bottle and a cap, so maybe just my luck. Raspberry and saffron are definitely present. On me it's a little bit better than a skin scent, but long-lasting. I was expecting a raspberry cake with Angel vibes, but it is more like woody raspberry with gasoline vibes. Not so gourmand. Similar to Xerjoff Soprano, especially in the opening, but that one is rose dominant and performs well. Disappointing! Try before you buy. I had high hopes, because it's the most popular one from the house. At first I wasn't interested because I have other fragrances with similar profile. Purchased as a part of a gift set. The fragrance I wanted was not in stock, unless you buy 2 cupcakes as a set, buy one get one free. Not a safe blind buy.

I finally caved and blind bought this a few months ago, and super glad that I did - but I can understand why some might not care for it; it’s not for everyone. I have smelled this scent profile before, it’s quite familiar to me, but a long time ago. (Think 80-90’s) Having a tough time placing it tho. Highly recommend you try it if you like classic scent profiles with a modern twist, but I would not suggest you blind buy this. Get a sample. It does take some getting used to, but the dry down! Stunning.

From what I can see Sinotah wrote that the House of Sillage Passion de l’Amour Edition Privée is 344 THOUSAND euros, and that the normal bottle is around 285 euros. They're talking about the expensive decorated bottle as is evident in the text. I don't know if that's true but that's literally what is written. Do you read much? And maybe you could be less aggressive to people next time.

I have 3 & 3/4 of 8ml travel sizes of this perfume straight from the HoS if anyone wants to buy it. I bought the refill travel spray set and sprayed it a couple times only to realize it’s not for me. It’s on sale on the website now for $51 so I’ll sell mine for $40. Message if interested and I only have venmo.

This has to be the sexiest fruity Oud fragrance I've ever tried. The oud is very strong and a little bit overwhelming in the beginning but after a couple of minutes the fruityness is kicking in and the oud becomes softer. a very sensual warm scent. Im in love!

@zimmer73 Definitely reminds me of Angel after about 30-45 minutes. Not right at first. At first it's all sweet raspberries and oud, but once that patchouli/vanilla kicks in, CRIMINY. Like a white chocolate version of Angel. Could be great in winter.

I tried a sample for passion de amour. I pretty much finished it. It’s very deep raspberry powdery. I didn’t like it. I am more of a sweet floral,kind of guy. This one just gave me old rich grandma. Projects really well tho!

Goes on like a spoiled vintage, but softens to a dusty raspberry saffron like a headshop incense with sweet caramel notes to lighten it. It’s actually very nice but the sweetness isn’t my vibe.

This is not really a true review, but I had some papers sprayed with a few from this house. Days later I kept smelling this one and it was so good.

All I get is leather! Even though it is not in the notes. Must be oud and patchouli. Don’t like this perfume at all. Hard pass for me.

Just way too much oud for me. I really wish I got more of the raspberry and other notes, because the bottle is stunning.
