Superman

Even though I’ve had multiple bad experiences with house of sillage, this bottle pulled me in. So...took the jump. First spray is a pleasant surprise in that I’m not immediately reminded of something else. Generally speaking, it’s a fresh, warm aquatic. Warm meaning cardamom, cinnamon, etc. it’s not a piercing citrus or anything like that. More creamy than piercing. If I had to draw a comparison, I’d say it’s in the same family as Azzaro Chrome Pure. I’ve had my ups and downs with HOS - and really didn’t like the Batman release - but this one is very pleasing and will likely be received pretty well. If I didn’t see the notes, I’d swear there was melon in this. It’s way overpriced for what you get - but if I’m being honest...I just fell in love with the bottle. Overall I’m really pleased with the scent and think it’s something I’ll wear often. If price isn’t prohibitive, you’ll probably like it.

I really do like this one as I've sampled it from a 2ml that I was sent. I would say this leans closely towards being an aquatic fresh blue scent. Somewhat similar to YsL Y. It's light, it's fresh, and it almost smells like fresh linen. Superman is very designer-esque (spelling?) which is to say it will be liked by many. I can't really speak for the longevity or the projection being that I haven't worn it out during the day. Just a sample on my arm. I'd say it's a little crazy though for a full price bottle. I got the Batman fragrance on sale from HoS and that one is incredible and absolutely full bottle worthy. Edit: I actually got a full bottle on sale. My wife loves it and I always feel that it's a success when she likes what I buy. Anyway, the more time I've spent with it, the more I associate it with other fragrances like Versace Eros, Channel Allure Homme Sport, Gucci Guilty edt... I'm finding the vanilla to stand out a lot more with the fresh appeal, thus the association with Allure Homme Sport, Eros edt, and Gucci Guilty edt. (It's the Vanilla, Cedar, and Lavender- all 3 frags have Vanilla and Cedar, and 2 of them have Lavender- that's what's making them so similar). In fact, I just did a side by side- I can't believe it- Superman is nearly identical to Chanel Allure Homme Sport and VERY close to Eros edt.

From a 3ml decant. It's a very nice, light, fresh, optimistic springtime fragrance. Reminds me a lot of Dior Higher, but with the necessary added complexity. Both have pear, but this one has marigold and other blooming florals, like lavender, plus cassis. It's very nice, but it doesn't quite have the strength or virility I had assumed they'd reach for in a Superman release. I wish it had more oomph. This is $300 for a 3.4 as of now. I don't see myself paying that but it is a good, maybe even very good ( not quite great ) fragrance, and if I owned a bottle , or saw one for $220 or so, although I'm not normally a fan of having to reapply throughout the day , in this case I'd make an exception and I would spray away and make it a spring daily.

After getting a 2ml decant of Superman I am so glad I didn't blind buy a full bottle. It's literally a clone of Dolce & Gabanna's The One for men. It's not a bad fragrance but if you own The One or Paco Rabanne's Invictus you know this fragrance's vibe. It's a very grapefruit forward blue fragrance. Great for casual or formal occasions and it will probably be liked by most people but in a world The One is already popular Superman does not stand out. House Of Sillage's Batman fragrance 'Vengeance" puts this cologne to shame.

After looking up parfums by price highest to lowest on neiman marcus.com, I repeatedly kept stumbling on house of sillage and their fancy looking bottles which were really cool looking and expensive. I looked for a masculine scent directly on house of sillage. I spotted the superman bottle which looked really cool so I trusted it and bought it blindly.I figured it being an extrait, it's longevity would suffice for my needs. When it comes to purchasing colognes/parfums I have no budget as long as the longevity and strength are there. This is not the case for this cologne. It's longevity is extremely poor. The fragrance itself smells similar to laundry detergent, it has a clean floral scent but leans masculine.The strength is normal at the beginning but fades quickly.The dry down is undescribable due to the fact it disappears rather quickly. The presentation is there the product not so much. You get 75ml but do you really want to reapply throughout the day I know I don't. This is one of those colognes you can spray everywhere since it's weak.
