Whispers of Admiration

I’m a huge HOS fan; owning a large selection from this house. What I’m not is a gardenia fan by any stretch of the imagination and have steered clear of this fragrance based on it being the most highly rated note in the ingredients. That said, I got a sample and to my surprise I absolutely love this scent!!! It makes me feel so pretty and feminine. It does open with fresh gardenia and apple, but it’s not overpowering and settles to this soft sexy coconut and Sandalwood. The longevity is good. I wouldn’t say as long as some of the other HOS fragrances I have, but definitely in the 3-5 hours range. Projection is not as strong either, but with it having gardenia in it, I’m ok with it being more subtle. My fave is still Whispers of Seduction, but this is definitely one I will be grabbing for often.

Edit: The more I smell this the more I actually really love this fragrance. I think I like it even better when sprayed on clothing (it smells a tad bit less warm on clothing than on skin) I originally thought that it was just a tad too sweet for my taste to wear day-to-day, though still very alluring, but I change my mind--it wears nicely as the day goes on. It reminds me of a girl's sleepover night, but much more sophisticated, not at all like a little girl.The candy apple is definitely the most dominant note, but it's not that gourmand. I am very pleasantly surprised I like this a LOT. I was perusing reviews of HOS fragrances, and one reviewer said it best: "Nearly all the HoS fragrances I got are better with a few wears, to give yourself time to appreciate their complexities".

This is Dior Absolutely Blooming minus some of the patchouli...A beautiful perfume, but nothing that hasn’t been done already. Update to my review: Now that I’ve worn this a few times, I’ve really come to appreciate it. Imo it’s much better than Dior’s Absolutely Blooming. Dior’s AB has something screechy about it, probably the large amount of patchouli. This fragrance is more well rounded without that jarring, screechy, patchouli. Also, the description of this includes Gardenia and peach Which my nose doesnt Pick up. To my nose, and I know it’s not supposed to have these ingredients, it makes me think of roses, berries and vanilla. A sweet, delicious scent that is very well crafted and, for me, has replaced Dior’s Absolutely Blooming.

This is almost identical to whatever the Crystals shopping mall in LV pumps through their air. Expensive, girly and fun while still smelling unique. I really love this one and so happy to have this cupcake. Sillage and longevity are both great. I can smell this for days if sprayed on the back of my neck.

This smells like cherry cough syrup but in the nicest way. Like candy cherries? My guess is it's the candy apple coming through. Pretty much all I smell maybe with a hint of powder but that just makes it smooth vs crisp, and I'm here for it. Longevity isn't much which is a shame.

Definitely reminds me a lot of a more toned down Black Opium. It's a beautiful fragrance but too similar to me for the price tag.

I collect perfumes mostly for the bottles, and I love the House of Sillages jeweled Cupcakes as I'm sure many others do aswell. I have a small DIY walk-in closet just to house my tiny collection of miscellaneous bottles. On that note, for the price of some of these it would be nice if the juice inside those beauties or rather, any other pretty bottle would match right? Its funny bc I have some plain ol' bottles with to die for fragrance inside. I also have some glorious gems of bottles that smell downright hideous. <-to my nose anyway because scent like much else is subjective. I guess that could be said for people aswell. Some come in nice packaging and hideous inside, and some of us not so fortunate with our packaging but can be a true gem on the inside. Anyway... This one, Whispers of Admiration, I would place in the: ~Soft, pretty, calm, confident, and relaxed category~ My review on the scent: It is a soft creamy and sweet-ish citrus scent. To me, the creaminess comes from the smooth and well blended coconut and the white flower(s) (in this case gardenia petals). However, I don't pick up Coconut or Gardenia on their own at all. So no tropical vibe. The combination of the two (coconut & gardenia) are meant to play a supportive role throughout the entire performance. The clementine obviously plays a harmonious non selfish Solo but it is the main protagonist. A tiny bit of sharp leafy green makes a cameo every now and then; ever so politely giving way to the sturdy friendly sandalwood. The musk in here seems to be the silent conductor guiding each note in the entire orchestra. It is definitely there and playing a major role. However, it is simply doing its job already knowing he is (<-yes, its a dude in my story) a badass that doesn't need to be front and center blocking the audience grabbing the lime light because at the end of the symphony when all parts receive its applause, he will take a polite and graceful bow with a hidden smirk of proudness and be the last to retrieve as the curtains close. Like the bottle, she (<-it's my story) is: •Pastel Pink for being a Pretty scent. She's not a romantic wedding day spotlight beautiful, its not her day. Nevertheless she is a pretty bridesmaid. •Yellow Gold for being a chilled, carefree, cheerful sort of mood. •Pastel White (flowers) for the innocent, sweet, soft spoken, and courteous projection. •And White Rhinestones because she's already a Princess and is just taking a day off enjoying nature. She has endearing child like characteristics, but not in an unrefined immature way. She isn't necessarily "UNDERWHELMING", its that as a princess should be, she is prudent in behaving like a traditional lady. She isn't insecure, and annoyingly "thirsty" for attention. You certainly won't find her behaving obnoxiously loud and/or vulgar. On the contrary, most will generally like her and find her pleasantly agreeable as she is easy to get along with. You might even hear some 'Whispers of Admiration'. ^_~

Pretty and Feminine! Sweet and girly, I like this one. Sweet sugared candies (apple, grape, orange), but apple is the strongest fruit for me, and white floral. I can not smell specific gardenia or coconut notes. Something about this reminds me of Viva La Juicy, but it is softer smell. Very nice.

Wow! Totally wasn't expecting this. It's a really pretty fragrance, BUT I'm trying to figure out how this damn near smells identical to Black Opium Le Parfum???

Very nice but the drydown is nearly identical to La Belle by JPG.

I see resemblences to both Viva La Juicy and Black Opium Le Parfum. This is not full bottle worthy for me, despite it smelling really pretty on the sample card they included in one of my orders. I bought the set of 7 x 8ml purse sprays of the entire Whispers in the Garden collection, and now that I have this one on, it is just okay. I thought I would have liked this more, and almost blind bought a full bottle. Very glad I didn't! To me there is nothing about this that seems unique or interesting, it's just a bit boring? If you want something that smells like a cross between the two aforementioned perfumes, then you may really like this. None of the notes really stand out, it's more of a blend of everything to me, with slight emphasis on the apple.

Looking at the notes for Whispers of Admiration, you wouldn’t be blamed for expecting a very sweet, but rather unique gourmand perfume. Disappointingly, you’d only be correct on the first front - for there is not a shred of individuality here. It’s definitely sweet, almost overwhelmingly so, but not because of anything in particular. It almost smells like sugared white florals, vague soapy musks, and that’s about it. No candy apple, no clementine, no coconut. If you want to save yourself time and money finding a decant, go and smell 100 cheap designer fragrances marketed towards teenage girls, 90 of them will smell like this.

Finally, one I like from the Whispers collection! I guess third time’s the charm in my sample box. Something about this scent makes me think of fairgrounds, but specifically daytime fairgrounds. Candy apples; lines of people, plenty of them wearing summer-themed coconut body mists; the general sweetness in the air. I actually dislike Black Opium (it smells grape-y/like Garnier shampoo on my skin), and I can VERY slightly see the comparison here, as both of these are sweet and fruity with my body chemistry. The difference is that Black Opium wears aggressively, while WoA is gentle. Great daytime date option. Think this one will be joining my wish list.

This is great, to me. Instant like as soon as it's sprayed. I love the crisp apple mixed with sweet floral. You don't pick up on the coconut like you do with HoS Disney. It's there more for support. I have a theory about House of Sillage's owner. It seems to me that the owner of the company takes inspiration from her favorite fragrances that have already been released from other companies. Fragrances like Love Don't, Baccarat Rouge 540 etc. All of these were released years before hers have been. Has she taken the liberty of copying her favorite fragrances and reproducing them to make money?

This was a blind buy and I don’t recommend doing so for this one. I own several fragrances from HOS, but this one is not my favorite. It’s really sweet and reminds me of Dior Absolutely blooming. Just smells cheap to me. I would be more than happy to trade if someone is interested.

This smells almost exactly like Black Opium! I had such high hopes from the notes, but it just smells like a softer, more refined, less 'in your face' version of Black Opium. But the scent itself is the same.

This smells exactly almost like black opium, but house of sillage just has absolute talent in making all the fragrances smell on the whole another luxurious level.

I dont think I ever read such confusing reviews on this site ... smells absolutely like Miss Dior , like opium like la belle ?!!! Complete different scents

ok, this smells only a bit like black opium, not exactly. it is quite delicious but there's something i don't love might be the gardenia or coconut?
