Whispers of Temptation

Clearly it's a bunch of amateur noses hating on this fragrance and that is the main problem with fragrantica. Temptation is a beautifully crafted rose/oud but not your typical middle eastern rose/oud done at nauseum by so many companies. Although lighter than I had hoped there is definitely a unique scent profile inherent. Is there real oud being used here? Probably not but the accord is very well done. This smells expensive and mysterious. Why do all women want to smell the same? I don't get it. Ladies whip this out on a club/bar night and I gurentee you will have men following you around as you're emitting this cloud of raw sex appeal! I wear this and think it's perfectly unisex

Looking at the notes for this, you would think this would be a heavy fragrance. It’s actually surprisingly airy. I waited until the weather cooled down to wear it, but I think you could probably wear it in any season. The opening is rose and saffron, with a light Oud and slight smokiness. The smoky note fades fairly quickly. The dry down brings a less airy Oud and suede or leather note. This is a very wearable Oud rose scent. It’s both sexy and sophisticated, with a presence that doesn’t overwhelm. Edit: Lately, I am only detecting the oud. It's a very dry oud and may be what is causing a slight medicinal opening. I like it, but I wish it had a touch of sweetness or more rose to make it feel more feminine. It's definitely a unisex fragrance, but I would test first, especially if you usually gravitate towards feminine leaning scents. After all, there are many beautiful oud and rose combinations out there for less money.

I agree with the review below, this is very light considering the notes. Singular oud/wet suede, not much of the floral aspect, or the sweetness you’d expect from black current/plum. For the price I’d expect more depth, more wow, but this is pretty meh.

Guess I’m one of those amateur noses mentioned by the below reviewer. Nothing but “singular oud/wet suede” for me as well. No men followed entranced in the wake of my scent trail (and this definitely boasts some sillage), but my friend (M) asked why I smelled like a new car. His nose must be amateur, too. Or, y’know, maybe this scent just doesn’t appeal to everyone or react identically with all body chemistry.

I smell nothing but leather/suede in this...and it’s nauseating. There’s no sweetness or depth, just leather. I wore this 2 days in a row and I couldn’t wait to shower it off. This is one scent that I wish didn’t last that long. Glad I only had a sample, would have been pretty upset if I purchased a full bottle.

The first impression I get is the scent of a medicated Band-Aid when it’s first opened. It dries down to a mediocre resemblance of MFK Oud Silk Mood. It isn’t an outstanding fragrance by any means and even discounted, the high price tag isn’t justified.

Whispers of Temptation is perfect. It has so many different offerings in one. The black currant and plum in this fragrance provide a succulent and sweet opening. However, the saffron is the key player. It cuts through all the layers of this fragrance with an ever-present elegance. The dry down transforms into an alluring leather with a soft, honey-oud that keeps it airy. As for comparisons, Whispers of Temptation is what I expected More Sex by Charlotte Tilbury to smell like. The leathery, spicy musk in More Sex is incredibly heady, but the fragrance itself is linear. Whispers of Temptation has the same leather base with an added sweet seduction. Additionally, this scent profile is different from Baccarat Rouge 540, and Whispers of Temptation leans more feminine in my opinion. Keep in mind that just because a fragrance has a saffron note does not mean it smells like BR540. This is a winner for me from House of Sillage, and I wish it lasted a bit longer. This fragrance is sexy enough to wear on a hot date, while also being elegant enough to wear to a wedding or fancy event. Not suitable for everyday wear or a night out to the lounge or club.

I love to do reviews on fragrance I didn’t originally like. I got Whispers of Temptation in a mystery box like a year ago. It smelled like the inside my grandmothers purse. Albeit a big expensive genuine leather purse mixed with perfumed lotions and candy. Now the suede is lighter and sweeter, I get a whiff of it while walking and it makes me slow down and be more conscious of my body language. It’s sexy, should be worn with something black or red and backless.

I'm on the fence w/this one. I like it. It was reminding me of something and I couldn't put my finger on it, and then I read the reviews - the person who said "new car" lol... yes, it does kinda' smell like new car smell. But a pretty, luxurious new car. (if that's your thing) 😅 Oddly enough I still like it. I probably wouldn't come off that kind of cash for this, though, but if you enjoy leather fragrances, I would recommend this.

Let me tell you I did not like this one when I first got it. But I’ll let it sit macerate over maybe six months and now I get the sexiness from the scent. It’s on my February perfume tray, and I plan on wearing her a lot.

This is a huge NO for me, smells disgusting 🤢 I just gets tons of leather and band aid smells like an old hospital just nasty... my husband sprayed this on and had to scrub it off. Not a safe blind buy !!!

All I smell is oud and slightly rose water notes.. reminds of Wisal which is waaaaay cheaper
