Whispers of Truth

I recently became acquainted with the House of Sillage. Now I love fragrances and I am a bit addicted you could say. However, it is hard sometimes to purchase a Tom Ford or Amouage, as gorgeous as some of their fragrances are, there are some real misses for me. And the bottles look nice, but I would never buy one based on their bottles alone, so if the juice misses you are truly out of luck. I guess that is just fine with them, it is all about the complexity of their juice and it is a personal choice. Great. But I have read many reviews by what I would call fragrance snobs who see it as sacrilege to have an overly ornate bottle. I guess they feel in this most serious of subjects, it is silly or gimmicky and must be trying to cover up a lack luster fragrance. I believe those naysayers are completely missing the point. First off, anyone who disregards a fragrance before giving it a chance based on the fanciness of the bottle, is only denying themselves a most rewarding experience. Yes, experience. Because to me that is what these adorable little cupcakes provide. The excitement when you open the elegant white box, the gentle presentation as it sits in a velvet throne, then the GORGEOUS, CRYSTAL ENCRUSTED little treat, takes your breath away. If you are one of those girls who love to be girly, love gemstones, precious metals, perfect fitting lace dress, a bit of sparkle in your lipgloss, then you must give the HOS a chance! Now to this one fragrance in particular, which is one of my all time favorites, not just from the House of Sillage, but of all time! Whispers of Truth, what a perfect name, because after experiencing this fragrance you will see the truth, that an amazingly beautiful, sparkly cupcake can contain the nectar of the angels! Now let's get out of the way the magnificent opaque white cupcake that has a top enameled in white and gold flowers, covered in bright yet pastel colored Swarovski crystals! This bottle hits a note hard to find, bold yet truly feminine. It is breathtaking, I wake up in the middle of the night and take it with me to the powder room just to look at it sparkle. Now to the fragrance which is also amazing. To me it is similar Delina, that fragrance from Parfums de Marly that hit everyone by storm. You cannot watch a Fragrance YouTuber talk about their favorites without Delina being included. And like Delina, this fragrance hits a balance that is the same as the white cupcake that holds it, it is bold, memorable and yet exudes femininity! This is a very hard thing to achieve, which is why Delina hit big with all us girly girls who were not wall flowers. But this is not Delina, to me this is better. It thankfully omits the one thing I do not like about Delina, the sour turn of the lichee and rhubarb blend. I accidentally broke my bottle of Delina in my purse and that sour note was so strong I had to throw it away. Now I am not insulting Delina because I also like it, my point is this Whispers of Truth, has all the good and none of the sourness. Instead it uses a bit of citrus to keep it from being overly sweet. I love it. And the really big thing to me because I have trouble getting some fragrances to last on my skin, this lasts and lasts all night. I wake up the next morning and still can smell her. And the sillage is rockstar. All day I get whiffs and it immediately pops that beautiful bottle in my mind and I am happy. People compliment me all day. This Whispers of Truth is a knock out for me. I probably would have kept it for the bottle alone, but luckily didn't have to. It is like a gorgeous multicolored sapphire ring for my dresser and the fragrance is one in a million that lasts for a millions of minutes, and you get millions of compliments. Exaggerations aside, it is simply perfect for me.

This, along with Whispers of Admiration from HOS's 'Whispers' line, is among the more unique of the 7, because of its sweet, but never overly gourmand notes (Whispers of Admiration is another sweet/gourmand erring fragrance in the line, but that one has a different scent profile). This one is my absolute favorite of the 7, and from the get-go I didn't need to even spray this from its sample tube to already detect a uniqueness to it by sniffing the spray opening--it was already that beguiling. The notes that truly shine are the very natural-smelling grapefruit blended with the caramel. I couldn't really tell it was caramel at first, I just thought upon closer sniff this smelled like orange juice, but leaning a little Sunny D (a sweet orange-flavored drink) because of the background sweetness. I soon realized it was the caramel that grounds the citrus and prevents it from becoming too stereotypically citrus-fresh. The rose comes through a bit too during the drydown. This is a phenomenal fragrance if you like the smell of a real fresh and sweet grapefruit/orange but don't like something too 'citrusy' and sharp. For days after I received a sample of this, I could not stop smelling myself. I was perusing reviews of HOS fragrances, and one reviewer said it best: "Nearly all the HoS fragrances I got are better with a few wears, to give yourself time to appreciate their complexities". Superbly done!

This is very reminiscent of BR540, it could pass for like a summer/spring, even fall flanker to 540 with its own unique citrus, fruity (apple or pineapple) opening, but WOT has that sweet woody base, similar to MFK BR540, that more than likely comes from the caramel, moss, and musk combo. I do NOT get Delina in any way, shape or, form. Nor do I smell its Exclusif flanker. WOT has a little more depth in the drydown, to me. Its almost unisex, yet feminine leaning, due to the slightly gourmand quality, from the caramel. Delina however, is very gorgeous, fruity, powdery and airy (the original) and the Exclusif is sweeter, more creamy and I personally prefer The original over the Exclusif. WOT isn't a dupe or a clone or a substitute for BR540, they are different scents, but there is totally a reminiscent vibe going on here that cannot be denied. There is so much groupthink going on in the comments, it is unbelievable! One person says they don't smell BR540 that they smell Delina, Now EVERYONE doesn't smell BR540 and smells Delina. Give me a break. 🙄

I love this perfume. After receiving a sample I bought the full bottle. The grapefruit and orange really stood out for the first hour. The grapefruit was especially enjoyable and prominent. The caramel was in the background the whole time, from the first spray til dry down several hours later. It's not a sickeningly sweet caramel, but very smooth and creamy. The rose and jasmine mingled nicely with the citrus and caramel. Not at all a strong rose or indolic jasmine, these were very tame, but still had several hours of longevity. This is like a spring/summer version of Xerjoff Lira. Ten hours later and I can still smell the very feminine Vetiver/Musk blend on me, along with a touch of sweetness from the caramel. To me, the Vetiver wasn't masculine at all, and the musk wasn't too powdery. I'm a gourmand lover, but even non-gourmand lovers would like this fragrance. Overall, this is a very pleasant feminine blend that got my husbands attention in a good way, with constant compliments throughout the day.

I love love love this fragrance. Does anyone know of anything that smells like this that’s cheaper? Though I love it, I don’t really like their asking price. I love the opening of this.. first time I smelled it I was amazed. True it does smell like baccarat but that grapefruit is what gets me.. that’s what I smell for the rest of its life. Anyone had ideas of what else smells like it? I know baccarat but it’s that grapefruit orange note that I can’t get my mind off of. I bought a full bottle and feel like I would buy a backup. I would have to wait for them to go on sale. Beautiful fragrance. I don’t understand the bad reviews honestly.

I could bathe in this. Seriously. Please stop comparing every perfume to the basic 540, (face palm) REALLY? Perfumes can smell similar, have the same notes. Some people are so deep in, they no longer see the vision of a good perfume. This is LOVELY. I smell fresh orange, grapefruit, jasmine, caramel, musk, and milk. So YUMMY. Baby sister to Delina, I will say that, but this one is milky. Very feminine, fresh, warm and cozy. Perfect for cold snowy days, all covered up with a beautiful cold face. ELSA probably smells like this. Never wanting to let it go. BISOUS

This is a compliment getter! It was recommended by a vlogger I watch on YT. I keep getting stopped by strangers when I wear this. I didn't think it did but apparently it leaves the most amazing trail. I'm aware of the BR540 comparisons (one of the strangers even thought that I was wearing it), but to me they're nothing alike. I actually heavily dislike Baccarat Rouge. This is more citrusy and far from synthetic.

On my skin this is a sweet, citrusy, creamy rose floral fragrance with a heavenly scent trail. It is truly unique in a strange way. A lady had this on at a church event and I picked it up right away, it’s that distinct to my nose. Super happy I purchased a full bottle and can’t wait to wear it this spring!

Delina layered with BR540 is what I get. I often layered the two together but for the price of WOT you can get Delina from a reseller and BR540 from a reputable perfume shop in Paris that ships to the USA. I will definitely pass this one on to my daughter since she loves it. Great longevity and projection.

smells exquisite like nothing else. No delina, no BR540 (BS in my mind). Whoever said that bought a fake perfume. It is a refined citrus perfume. Perfect for summer and very classy. Dress-up attire.

Gorgeous fragrance! A nice balance of fruit/musk. One of my favorite fragrances from House of Sillage.

Agree with baccarat and lira description but I do really like this one .

Sillage says everything I knew House of Sillage from their previous creations. As soon as collection “Whispers in the Garden” hit the market, I purchased their samples. Most of them are very easy to wear and have light floral scents, but “Whispers of truth” is different story. It came few years ago, but right away it become absolute hit among company’s admirers. Prices for remaining collection can easily go down to $145-180 per cup cake, but this one stays the same $495 no matter what and I understand why. If you like Baccarat rouge 540, but can’t stand their medicinal, very heavy ambroxan notes, this composition have gorgeous citrusy-floral-caramel vibe. This one is luxury Baccarat dupe, that lasts all day. I love that it is truly stands to its name and literally whispers the truth about yourself, letting your personality shine, without being overwhelming hit to your surroundings. Amazingly done composition and it is a pleasure to see new cupcakes versions through out the years developing into series of scents. New perfume stands a part from remaining 6 bottles, with colorful pastel décor with original Swarovski Crystals. It could be beautiful gift for someone dear to your heart. It can be used for special occasions to stand out among the crowd without powerful dominance. When person leaves, sillage stays to whisper the truth.

I have read reviews saying it’s similar to BR 540, but I do not get that at all - not on my skin chemistry atleast. I get more Delina from Parfums de Marley only with out the sharpness of Delina or overly powderyness of Exclusiff. I love BR540 way more then Delina even tho Delina and exclusiff get way more compliments then my BR540 love. So I wear it for the compliments, lol. But for real if you like Delina but wish it wasnt so sharp - you’ll enjoy this fragrance. I do enjoy it. To me it’s sharp of citrus for the first hour and then I get a bit more rich ness with rose and Carmel popping in to say hi. I won’t buy a full bottle tho at the current price as it doesn’t go on sale like the others do. I will buy another 8ML travel size when it’s on sale tho. You can buy the whole whispers series in a 8ML travel spray kit for like $50 bucks which offers more then enough generous time to try before you buy. I recommend if you don’t have a lot of cash to blind buy things you might not enjoy - then go with the sample kits. You can get their signature collection which is 10 of the 8ML travel sizes on sale for $75 bucks during their 70% of sales. Definitely worth it as fragrances can sound good until you put them on and they smell nothing on your chemistry like they do from the bottle - or what the notes sound like they should smell like.

Citrus, bright, fresh, lil bit sweet. I can see where people draw the BR540 & Delina comparisons, but really this smells more like Cloud, but just more citrusy///a LITTLE more fresh/long lasting. Smells classy and fresh, but also could be considered cloying/medicinal (just like BR540 & Cloud). For the price the performance is abysmal, lasted maybe 5 hours on my skin with hardly any sillage (LOL @ the irony of it being named House of Sillage though) I will say that the citrus/lemon lasted pretty long, and i found that impressive. once the juicy citrus goes away though, youre left with a cloud dupe with a hint of lemon (yes i know there's no lemon note but the citrus medley comes together pretty well to replicate the lemon scent). It's not a linear perfume, but it does go from a juicy, fresh citrus scent to a Cloudy sharp death (the "latex gloves" & "medicinal" smell often attributed to BR540 & Cloud) The citrus is primarily the rind and zest, a little bit of juice but not much, especially in the drydown. Don't get me wrong HOS WOT is a good perfume, but horribly overpriced based off it's performance and scent.

I will try to keep it simple I have both MFK’s and Xerjoff lira and if you like all three you will most definitely like this one! It’s not the same at all it’s similar but not the same it does have the same medicinal 🩹 qualities to it and the same type of sweetness I would say this is the baby sister out of four kids type stuff but that’s about it. I would say it’s safe blind buy if you don’t like it you can always sell it on eBay or Mercari or trade with a trusted person. It remind me of D&G light blue intense the more I smell it lmao it’s becoming a sweet lemonade drink on me that medicinal/bandaid note is fading if you don’t feel comfortable buying this I would suggest you to get a decant asap it’s worth it but I don’t believe in decants especially when it’s a huge sale on their website but I must warn you once you buy a couple it’s over you will keep going back in the last 3 weeks I purchased 19 cupcakes from them and I’m considering buying more lol good luck 🍀

This perfume is a strong like, not a love for me. It smells absolutely nothing like BR540. Absolutely nothing in common. But the person who said this is similar to Delina is correct. It has the same sour fruity opening, rhubarb for Delina snd I guess it’s the grapefruit/ citrus here. This is a bit softer and easier to wear. That said neither are personal favorites, but my husband who has a magnificent sniffer (like a bloodhound he can pick out ppm level notes in a tornado) loves both Delina and this HoS offering. I have a huge collection and these are the only two perfumes that he has spontaneously and enthusiastically (wink) complimented. The bottle is gorgeous and I got it for a great sale price so I’m happy with this blind buy

I would compare this to Oriana from Parfums de Marly or Lira before the BR540 and Delina comparisons. Very sweet and citrusy. It’s nice, but can see it becoming cloying. Will never pay full price for this house. At this very moment this bottle is 50% off on the official HoS website. Don’t buy from a reseller when you can just wait for it to go on a substantial sale. Downside is the newly implemented $20 shipping charge per order.

Lovely, overpriced perfume with good sillage and longevity, but not very original. On me it wears as if I wore Delina and layered BR540 on top. Worthy of a buy if you love the bottle and have the money to burn. Edit: For the record, I wrote my review before I read any. I now see others are getting the same Delina/BR540 blend that I do when I wear it.
