Mantrap

This is one of my favorite scents! It is spicy and resinous, but soft and feminine. It is a quintessential oriental. As a lover of vintage perfumes, I always do my perfume research. I believe that this perfume may have been inspired by Vigny's Beau Catcher, which came out a bit before Mantrap and smells almost completely identical. Notice any similarities in the names? It isn't hard to believe considering Vigny's popularity in the early 20th century. A modern scent that is somewhat similar would be Dana's Tabu.

got this on my trip to New Orleans for the National College Media Convention. Very spicey and dusty. Smells like old people, but sweet old people who have lived a long life full of love. Despite being a college media convention, I spent most of my time getting shitfaced with my now girlfriend. We barely went on a first date before this and then we had a 4-day vacation in New Orleans together. Oh yeah it was also Halloween. So, I don't really smell the dusty spicy old people. I smell the nervousness of a crush, the beginnings of lasting love, and peeing on bourbon street with my Clark Kent costume on and the most beautiful Catwoman you have ever seen on my side.

This is very nice! I'm new to Hove and I've been exploring some of the brand. This is warm, spicy and resinous. I can't pick out individual notes, but it's along the lines of Tabu's Dana or CK's Obsession. If you love either of those, you'll easily love this one as well. It's like a warm, enveloping hug on a cool fall day. Longevity was most of the day on me with moderate sillage.
