I discovered this perfumerie on my first trip to New Orleans. I am a huge fan of Tom Robbins, and his book, "Jitterbug Perfume," is my favorite book. I wasn't even aware of this house, but I had to go inside because the adorable little Hove store reminded me immediately of the description of the little perfume store in the book, and I couldn't resist going in. I was really surprised to see that behind the counter is a signed copy of the book Jitterbug Perfume. I was told by the woman at the counter that Tom Robbins himself had purchased Radiance. There was nothing more to be said; a full bottle went home with me. When I wore it, I discovered something that hadn't even crossed my mind before. This house, a true New Orleans original, designs all of its formulas to withstand humidity. I come from Los Angeles in which there is very little humidity and all of the perfumes I had brought with me to wear did not last longer than a few minutes, but Radiance was with me almost all day, plus they are sold in the cutest, tiniest bottles that fit in your purse so you can touch up. All of the fragrances that I have tried from this house have a touch of powder, which comes from the old-school perfume formulas they still use. Honestly, in an old city like New Orleans, it's hard for me to imagine wearing anything else.

A very light version of Joy, the old school Joy though imo. "Poor woman's Joy" is also apt.
