Oxford Street

How is this under the radar so much? I don't remember what possessed me to try this, but I really enjoy it. This smells like other fragrances yet is completely unique at the same time. I agree that this fragrance is a lot like Jaipur, yet where Jaipur smells like a grandmother to me, this is more like a sophisticated guy. It's got a barbershop vibe, but I get a lot of the citrus swirling around in the middle of the cloud of spices and powder. It's one of the most complex and dynamic openings I've smelled so far. Sillage is never huge which is surprising with this kind of scent. But that to me just makes Oxford Street that much more interesting. Drys down warm, woody, with a hint of gourmand. This is a very intriguing fragrance. It's a quiet beast, not loud, but last long. It doesn't scream to get your attention. No. Rather Oxford Street just stands in the corner while being the most interesting cologne in the room. 30+ male for sure.

If someone asked me which fragrance I associate most with Britain, Oxford Street would be my answer without hesitation. The blend of fresh green notes, anise, ivy, basil, and caraway is simply stunning. It smells elegant and restrained, like a classic aftershave from the last century. In the drydown, it starts to develop a soapy quality reminiscent of Bond Street, another masterpiece by Maurizio Cerizza. It doesn’t come across as an “old man’s fragrance” at all - I can easily imagine a young guy wearing it. That said, I should mention that some people may find it slightly old-fashioned. 10/10.

Ancak, anason burnuma gelmedi.Biber ise bu markanin diger parfumlerinde oldugu gibi çok başarılı. Orta yaş için, yaz ayları dışında son derece uygun bir parfüm.

Got a sample of this from The Different Scent in Berlin when purchasing a Penhaligon's. I've never heard of Parsons, but if this is to be taken as an expression of their perfume quality, it seems promising. Starts out with a barbershop clean vibe, and during the drydown the sandalwood takes over. Lots of sandalwood, some labdanum and very Little cinnamon is what I get. Somehow it reminds me of Jaipur without the spices, making it less oriental. A nice, clean and inoffensive scent - could imagine an accountant wearing this. I'll be interested in trying other scents from this label.

Oxford Street by Hugh Parsons in my opinion is a hidden gem. Very unique in it’s own way. The opening is this medicinal oud (sort of syrupy), truffle and sandalwood combo. Definitely not gourmand but the truffle is noticeable. After maybe an hour or so, the oud cools down a little bit and the sandalwood really takes over. The mid to drydown is this clean (almost barbershop) sandalwood. Longevity is decent, I spray my clothes so around 6-7 hours. Sillage is nothing to boast about but gets the job done. Definitely want to dress this fragrance up, in my opinion, probably best paired with a well tailored suit in the fall.

Oxford Street is a super great value,if you want a real fragrance for men.
