Boss Alive Eau de Toilette

I've got a sample of this beautiful fragrance. Honestly I didn't expect to like it so much, because of the negative reviews here. It's feminine, warm and elegant, not to mention how confident I feel wearing this. ❤️

Unbelievable feminine and innocent sexy 💗💗💗, fresh floral, fortunatelly finally I have caught the vibes of Boss XX eau de toilette, which has been discontinued

This EdT is so different from the EdP, its like a whole new fragrance. I love it, it is so fresh and floral-fruity and its as longlasting as the EdP.

After spraying: This EDT has two layers: gourmand sweetness + mens cologne background (almost fougere). So it is built similar to Olympea Eau Legere or Libre YSL. First impression: Christmas market! Candied almonds note - burned sugar, syrup, cinnamon - that kind of sweetness. Some kind of indian incense stick (with cinnamon with sage, I don't remember the name, not Nag Champa but it had its own name). So after 5 minutes it smells like being on a Christmas market, where spicy incense burns close to sweet candied almonds and you are happy and can scent hint of fougere cologney from your man. After half an hour: sweet, a little cologney, with cinnamon + fresh green apple. Apple note is fresh, airy, "alive", trapped with cinnamon between those sticky sweetness and cologne. Alive EDT is not bad fragrance for spring, office friendly, "happy". I used it once before sleeping and the scent is very comforting. I had Olympea Eau Legere and Alive smells like her fruity sister with apples instead orange flowers. I've found on a website that Magnolia yunnanensis smells like lemon (there is indeed a trace of citrus there).

It's nice... it's ok... not "wow" but a nice smell. I'm not that crazy about it but my husband loves it on me ^^. It has a very strong flower scent in the biggining that over powers everything. Then comes the apple... rose and jasmine... very powerfull flowers... it tones down quickly with a definite sage and more earthy smell. Edit : 12/08/2025 my original comment was two years ago. I've kept this perfume in a dark cool closet, where all my perfumes are actually. The juice has not changed colour, so I thought should be fine. I don't know what has happened but now at first spray... it smells like glue. Really strange... and after I can hardly smell anything anymore. I mean I have to put the paper strip on my nose to smell even a little bit of it. Have any of you had this issue ?

Kind of confused with what I'm smelling here. I have a sample of the EDT and I'm sniffing it rn while I look at those notes and I would have never guessed this is what this would smell like from the list here. Does anyone else get some kind of sweet orange dessert vibes? Like this almost leans lightly gourmand to me. I've smelled a lot of perfumes and I actually don't find this "boring" or "lazy" or that bad at all. It's a normal everyday uplifting kind of creamy and sweet scent. I cannot distinct notes here at all or break them down by smelling this so I'd say not a safe blind buy. This also smells different on paper vs my skin. Medium sillage/performance. Rating: 7/10

Unremarkable rather light fruity-floral. It will for sure not offend anyone but is totally non-descript. Definitely office friendly. If you are looking for a scent in this genre then there are better ones out there in my opinion.

This is beautiful and so creamy!! Love it, it's cosy,bed time smell( the name is so wrong!). I really enjoy this after shower,with some body vanilla lotion,perfect for sleeping, I really like it! It's light by the way.

Ok, What can I say. Its Ok. Warm, feminine, cloudy. Wouldnt buy it but do wear it happily from the sample that i've received.

Stop it with the Sambac already! I am tired of that pervasive note of soggy stale brown bread ruining otherwise delectable fragrances. There are so many kinds of jasmine out there. Here's a wild thought: let's try them!

This may not be the most exciting choice if you already have a rather well rounded collection of perfumes on your shelves as you will for sure find similar and more poignant flower/fruit iterations in your stash if such notes are your thing. But I still think there is a place for The eau de toilette version of Alive, (albeit I might have gone for a more bashful or budding name than the bold “Alive” as there really is nothing bold about this fragrance. But instead it is mild and soothing and young and delicate and such flowers are beautiful too in my opinion. The mixture here also is interesting as it is not as sweet or sour as one might think when one hears fruity along with flowers. But there is more of a freshness to this without falling into the greener side of the spectrum. It is in a way very balanced and also very young. And very feminine. And for me this is perfect for a young girl just getting to experience scents for the first time in her life when the taste buds and scent ability also is still very strong and many things just smell too cloying or too sweet or too old lady or too everything... This lighthearted but still beautiful scent is perfect for that. One important thing though. The eau de toilette version is very different from the eau de parfum, so don’t go for that if it is the lightness and the fruity bloomy freshness you are after as the eau de parfum is a lot less interesting if you ask me as there vanilla and amber and woodyness takes over and covers the delicate ness of the flowers and the airy ness completely and it becomes a completely different gourmandesque scent and a lot less interesting and dupeable... if you ask me. ❣️

It is interesting that everyone is describing this as a fruity floral because Boss doesn’t mention any fruit on the card my sample came in. According to Boss, this is “a light-hearted fragrance, capturing the positive energy and the authenticity of the Boss woman. Delicate jasmine, addictive magnolia and vibrant sandalwood notes exude joy and femininity.” No mention of the apple, mandarin or lemon. And that is what brought me to Fragrantica. I was sure from the first moment that what I was smelling had a considerable amount of fruit in it and so, it seems, is everyone else. It’s quite pleasant, but has nothing to recommend it and if I never smell it again I won’t miss it. There is no need to say any more than that as other contributors have said it already.

Barely Alive? In intensive care? On it's death bed? I really wanted to like this so I wouldn't have to make the obvious jokes, but here they are. This was ace for five minutes. Bright, pretty, fresh, young, sparkley, summery, all the adjectives. Then it all disappeared into a faint woody rose. I shall prepare it's funeral. RIP.

I was always told that eau de toilette is a weaker version of the EDP. But I have noticed now with several perfumes that some EDT smell completely different than the EDP. Here's an example of the Alive. Totally different. The EDP has plum and more warmth to it.

Can't recognize any of the notes, but not because it is so perfectly blended. It is just perfumey, but in a very boring and unremarkable way. While writing this text, I already forgot how it smells...:(
