Boss Bottled Marine

This juice here is really good and it’s finally available once again, this time at a couple of online discounters. It reminds me more of Versace Eros Parfum with a touch of cinnamon instead of vanilla. The apple and mint opening is so good! Almost no resemblance at all here to Boss Bottled Infinite or PDM Sedley, not even close really, nor is it a marine scent. I can say that it’s super versatile and enjoyable to wear, definitely leans more casual. Somehow it just has an early autumn vibe to me, but would be great on any mild to cooler weather type of day. Above average longevity for a fresh scent in the Boss Bottled line, it lasts me a good 6-7 hours with a pleasant and noticeable scent bubble. This was at Macy’s for just under a year back in 2022 and then stock just vanished, until now. As of this review it has made a comeback at a couple of discounters and if you do a quick google search you can find it easily. Great release and one worth having in any collection as a casual grab-n-go dumb reach fragrance.

Really nice, it's better than Boss Bottled Infinite imo, this has this aquatic , mineral, slightly green feel to it...and I am stoked to wear this in the spring and summer. Really awesome, if you're a fan of Boss Bottled and especially Infinite you'll love it. Got a 6.7 and I absolutely love this release 👍 What a shame how great releases just get down voted by people who haven't even worn it.

This is really good. I think l found again the lost Dunhill X Centric. Fresh, green, spicy, woody perfume only for men. All year around and compliment catcher. Very satisfied with its projection and longevity. Some people said that it's hard to find it because is discontinued.

It's ok typical boss DNA with a metallic smelling note they did a good job creating a aquatic smell with notes not commonly found in aquatic fragrances good job lower the price now we know this is made in the same room as Aspen in the coty factory

I really liked this. A soapy, clean interpretation of what the ocean smells like. I also pick up some lavender and the classic Boss Bottled DNA lurking in subtly in the background.

Love how pathetic people are to downvote on fragrances they haven't even tried yet.

Having tried a few of the Boss lineup (Bottled, Intense EDP, Oud), I like how they softened the cinnamon apple DNA up with notes to give it a more mass-appealing (but unique) vibe. It's weird though because looking at the note breakdown, you would think that the marketing people were out of their minds naming it 'marine', but I can see where they got that. It's definitely not aquatic, and the spice in here goes in a different direction than say, the spice in some more well known colognes that are best sellers in this scent category. On my skin, the Boss Bottled DNA is immediately apparent upon initial spray. However, as it dries down on my skin, I find that it softens up that spice and actually sweetens up a little bit (cue the sweetness of the frosted apple and freshness of the mint). Not as sweet as say, Versace Eros or 1 Million Lucky (I own both), but a few pegs down. Unlike the other two I just mentioned, I can hose myself down with this stuff and not feel like I'm going to choke everyone in the elevator with my scent bubble. My girlfriend likes it upon initial spray, but loves it on the dry-down, and said she feels like this is something that I could wear year-round in places that have a consistent temperature like the office, etc. It doesn't project loudly, and after about an hour you'll find the scent bubble is relatively small. For me, I applied liberally (about 8 sprays) after my evening shower and went to bed about an hour and a half later. I could still smell it on my skin after a full night's sleep (7-8 hours) but it was definitely a skin scent. That being said, for me, it should be fine considering it's not meant to really break through the cold. For a standard EDT concentration I think it has held up well, and doesn't have that very alcohol-y vibe that some other well known lines have when applying liberally at initial spray. I could see myself using this in my regular office scent rotation, and feel that the cinnamon apple scent profile that the Boss Bottled lineup is known for has been toned down enough to where you can smell more notes, and not just the Boss Bottled DNA itself. Bottom Line: Easy-going, safe buy for beginners, those who want to keep a small set of fragrances that can work in different scenarios, or those looking for an addition to their office-friendly scent lineup. Longevity is decent for being an EDT concentration, but don't expect solid projection unless in high heat situations. It's likely limited edition as they are testing the market, but I'd see this at discounters fairly quickly due to Hugo Boss not having a very large USA presence as opposed to in Europe. YMMV but I personally like it. Love it? Maybe not. But it's a solid 6-7/10 for me, and something I'd be perfectly fine wearing. People hating on this must be really trying hard to get noticed - keep spending those big bills on Aventus while they keep neutering it. In the meantime, I'm perfectly fine with designer offerings like stuff from the Hugo Boss lineup.

This is my first time trying a "Boss Bottled" fragrance, so I can't compare it to the other ones. I received a full bottle of Marine from Influenster. I'm normally not a big fan of the oceanic/light fragrances. This one starts off a little sweeter and fruity, smelling almost like Versace Eros (but not as strong). I didn't notice much Cinnamon or Spice to it, it goes from smelling like eros at the start to smelling like a slightly sweet "light oceanic" smell after it dries down. This one doesn't seem to last very long and smells pretty light even from the beginning. This is probably for someone who wants something very light, not too sweet, not too strong and not too acquatic.

I tried this today, actually pretty nice, opens very bright with some citrus, what reminds me of juniper (could be the mint & cinnamon) and a slight 'marine' accord. It becomes warmer after a short while, there's surely a vanilla note/amber accord in there somewhere. Reminds me a bit of Riflesso Blue Vibe by Trussardi although not as strong and perhaps Boss Bottled Infinite. Decent, will try again some time.

BOSS bottled DNA with a dark Eros core. The whole thing is coated in a translucent candy coating that takes a while to melt away giving way to more depth. I get the sense of walking along a dock on a lake. Not anything to do with the ocean or beach. A cozy marine scent. Seems to adapt well to cold temps and high temps respectively. 7.7/10

Surprisingly good. I was handed a sample walking through the store. Apart from the excellent Bottled Night, I have never been a fan of Bottled or any of the flankers, so this was a pleasant surprise. Fresh with just the right amount of sweetness. Nicely balanced and blended IMO.

Smells like Paul Smith extreme but lasts a lot longer. Just a great daily wear for anyone, I can't imagine anyone disliking it. I don't get the frozen notes but it has a lot of freshness to it. The performance is good. Easy blind buy

Yeah like Zebra said, there's nothing marine about this in the notes, or smell either actually. It's deodorant like ( the white kind ) soapy, a bit sweet, sage and slightly green minty. Strange name but it smells really good

I like it. Very nice and safe scent for men. Fresh cinnamon scent. Great for daily use at the office. Pleasant. Better suited for spring and summer.

This smells very very similar to Boss Bottled Infinite. At least to my nose it does. Both are very good, clean and soapy fragrances.

A great Marine Fragrance with a wonderful smell. This feels strong and luxurious and I can really recommend it!

Tried this in a store yesterday and was really surprised both in a good and a bad way. The fragrance itself was a nice fresh take of the bottled dna but sadly as with most of the bottled range I’ve owned it didn’t project well at all and turned to a skin scent very quickly. I sprayed then walked around and got on with my day then after approx 1 1/2 hours it was barley noticeable. Real shame as I was considering getting it but the longevity really swung it for me. Just wish they had kept Bottled intense as it was always a winner for me

A watery berry smell. You could get the same effect if you spilled a fruitshoot on your t-shirt

Sampled this for the second time today since it got my attention the first time I tried it in store. It initially has a blue shower gel/fabric softener vibe. It’s not a head turner fragrance by any means but it’s very calming and pleasant from the beginning. The performance is not so good so if that’s what you want look elsewhere. However, if you wear this in warm-high heat it will project smoothly and relax you and everyone else around you. This kind of smells like the best parts of Versace’s “blue jeans” and “Eros” mixed together. I also get a little Bleu de Chanel edt as well. It’s not a loud fragrance it’s pretty subdued. It’s super inoffensive and light. You could wear this anytime anywhere. Worth a buy if you can find it on discounters and want something that is chill & will sort of “float” around you giving you a calming sensation. Very melancholy fragrance. I like it but can’t test it on a full wear so I’ll just rate the scent alone: 7.3/10

Dirty and earthy blueberries, its a sweet one, sugary and syrupy nectar, darker and deeper, not much aquatic or marine, freshness level medium to low, its pleasant but more casual feel. Update: After wearing this a few times I am very confused what this cologne is trying to be, its neither marine nor aquatic in any way, neither freshie, neither fall or winter vibes. It starts sort of dark blue appearing sweet and casual vibes but then it turns very dense and dirty which makes absolutely no sense. Those are two opposite aspects that do not mix here well at all, they clash. After few hours in the dry down I became revolted to this vomit like mix of these notes. Dont be fooled by the nice opening, you must experience this to the end to decide if this is for you. The cashmere and patchouli is very strong here and it will completely change what you smell in the opening, not in a good way.

Perfect office wear that won’t offend your co workers and definitely will get compliments from the ladies.I love the opening to dry down but imho the dry down is to die for.The dry down to me....OMG doesn’t smell like a designer fragrance at all but a expensive niche fragrance.If I were to blind buy and not knowing this is Boss.I swear this really smells so good and I don’t normally expect that from boss.This is easy to wear all year round and really perfect for summer.I don’t get the Eros comparisons tho.Longevity on my skin easily goes 8 hours with decent projections.Gonna get a 2nd bottle for back up soon in case this gets reformulated and I do hope this will gets an EDP version soon.

Ppl downvote for millions of reasons.... The minority will vote AFTER they have actually tried it. The majority will vote because... 1. They love or hate the BRAND (label loosers) 2. They prefer rancid vintage scents 3. They believe that they are better ppl and only buy niche 4. They hate Hugo Boss 5. They complain somehow about synthetic ingredients 6. They complain in some way or another about Boss being part of a multinational corporation 7. They have to make a statement of some sort of reformulations 8. They might have accidentally sniffed it ......and so on and so forth

I'm a little disappointed that based on the note breakdown this doesn't seem to be very 'Marine' which would've been an interesting twist on the Boss Bottled dna however, the notes seem interesting enough to grab my attention. I have high hopes for this one. Why is people bashing on it when it just came out? at least test it first before complaining about it.

@Mothfirefly92 I don't buy fragrances based on the color of a bottle, I buy them based on how they smell, and yeah, if they call it marine, the least they could do is make the actual fragrance smell like it, because I suspect a lot of people buy fragrances based on how they smell as well, couldn't care less if the bottle is purple or yellow.

This one is actually pretty good. Fresh and sweet. As others have said this is not marine, salty or sea-like at all. It's modern sweet-woody-fresh fragrance. It's definitely nothing new or ground breaking but it smells competent. A good gift for your dad or something like that. Don't pay too much for it though.

Wow, a boss bottled fragrance that is discontinued and actually not available anywhere to buy after being discontinued. That's super rare considering how hugo boss mass produce their boss bottled fragrances like rabbits and mice reproduce. I'd like to smell this but it's discontinued and not available anywhere

Finally got around to smelling this, and as I suspected the name marine has no place here whatsoever, this is fruity, sweet, synthetic, smells like everything else, suitable for men aged between 18 & 22. I suspect this will hit the dicounters soon, very soon.

This stuff is divine. It’s extremely mass appealing, long lasting, and straight up fun to wear. The opening is a brighter take on Eros EDT, and the dry down is sweet yet fresh and and transparent.

Tried this in a store. Seemed to me it was a pleasant citrus/marine. No wow factor though. I remember thinking, "not worth buying" - for me anyway.

@MM98 I said there isn't any thing remotely marine when the fragrance is called so, I did not say I smelled it, besides nobody asked you.

Do Hugo Boss have a different definition for the word "marine" in their dictionary ?

Typical Boss, but has that certain "oh" factor and in a good way.

This is available at Macys stateside. I have not sampled it yet.

Anybody knows when this fragrance will be released in Canada?
