Boss In Motion (2022)

This fragrance is a crowd pleaser. It's got nice citrus notes, without being too sweet, and has musky, woody undertones. This is my first ever review, long time reader and fragrance addict though. The only reason I'm posting this review is that I wore it today in 45 degree Celsius heat. I applied it around 8am. I wear a suit for work and ride a motorbike. After a long day of walking around and sweating plenty, I parked up at the shops around 7pm, and a lady walking past said: "Wow you smell nice!" Like I said, crowd pleaser, and lasts on clothing for a long time. On skin I would say a decent 6 hours. However to get that kind of performance you do need to apply a fair bit, so you may get through a bottle quickly. It does project but not aggressively, and is well balanced. For the price, and being EDT, it is really punching above its weight. Personally I also feel this is a scent that could be pulled off by any age group, because as I say IMHO the notes are well balanced, though it does have a certain maturity about it.

Someone mentioned this reminds them of Lynx/Axe I think it might be the legendary Inca you are thinking of because I think this has some of that sandalwoody freshness that Inca had. Not a dupe or so but that vibe knowwhatimsayin'?

I love this so much i wish they released the parfume version of this. This is like a creamy, sweet orange with a very realistic sandalwood note, it's so sexy its almost drinkable and I'd prolly bathe in it if I could tbh.

Yes, this does smell creamy, and beautifully citrusy, but it’s gone in no time. Sillage and longevity suck! A major disappointment from the Boss’s house.

This smells exactly the same as the original Boss in Motion from 2002. Don’t let anyone tell you different! Long lasting and great sillage.

i love orang-ey perfumes. To my nose this one smells delicious ! Glad i bought it on a blind buy, excellent value.

Seems fragrantica hasn’t added Hugo Boss Man, which is in the same type bottle?

It's a fragrance I wore as a teenager (in its spherical bottle) and which I've recently had the pleasure of rediscovering at a very good price in a new, more basic bottle, but the scent seems to me to have remained the same, and that's the main thing. Big orange Fruit-tella candy vibe at first (sweet, juicy orange with cream). It then becomes a little "Hollywood chlorophyll chewing gum" and the sandalwood begins to appear after 1H but remains creamy and without smelling of pickle. On the dry down, a gourmand nutmeg gives the fragrance a twist, making it suddenly more mature and deeper. Useful details : english is not my mother tongue and my opinions are copied and pasted from my personal notes, written on the fly after several phases of testing (in the case of this one, I have it in my collection so I wear it regularly).

I bought the original fragrance when it was released in 2002 and have repurchased it several times since. This is a scent I am very familiar with and have many scent memories from wearing. The opening and mid of the newer version smell almost identical to the original; you can hardly tell them apart. However, the drydowns are quite different. The original is more orange and creamier, whereas the newer version is harsher and drier. The drydowns don't smell similar at all. The performance of both the original and the newer version is good on my skin, with the drydown lasting a long time so you can tell the difference when you smell them side by side. I am very unhappy with the changes in the new version, as this scent holds a lot of nostalgia for me. The new bottle looks good though.

The perfume itself smells pretty sweet, although it does have to dry out for it to smell like that sweetness because on first spray it is very much alcohol. Although it isn't that strong it is still a nice perfume to have in ur collection. The spray is okay at most, its a nice atomize but it also gets on the bottle when u spray normally and also sometimes little droplets come out which is lesser nice. Overall Its a pretty okay every day perfume, just not really for winter and maybe for fall since its very sweet. For like 38 dollars on amazon i'd say its a decent fragrance. 7/10

Back in the day when 'In Motion' was introduced it was one of the best fragrances in my opinion. I was introduced to this site and to my suprise I found the 2022 version. It has the same awesome scent as the original one and I'm excited to finally have it. I recommend it for outside use from spring through early autumn-especially if you want to stand out from the crowd since nobody wears it these days. I advice you to hold back on the number of sprays you use as this one has a powerful scent

Creamy lovely orange. I really like this fragrance, specially on warm spring evenings. The only downside for me is its really, really poor longevity. It becomes literally non-existent after three hours which is really sad considering how amazing this smells. Currently, this is my bedtime fragrance because of how soothing and refreshing I find it. 6.5/10.

I found a tester for $22 and it's quite worth it. Upon spraying, I find an orange creamsicle vibe with this fragrance. Cream with some woods and this slight basil note, Longevity is lacking but if you want something casual that you can throw on whenever and not smell super loud this is a great pick up. 7.5/10 Overall with a 10/10 Price

The smell is really good as others say, but longevity and projection is really weak even for an EDT. Projects nicely for 30 minutes on skin and 1 hour on clothes. After that it becomes pretty much non-existent :(

I like the smell of it, and it's a good pick for the gym,or walk in the park, but the longevity is non existant. It dissapears after half an hour on my skin. Not even the skin scent is there.

A nice sweet creamy orange, very pleasant, warm and comforting scent that's suitable for any occasions. Slightly underrated fragrance in my opinion.

A smooth creamy essence. Although not stated it reminds me of like a creamy orange with some. Good stuff for daily use.

Just been given a full bottle of this that my mam found in her house, no idea where it came from, and she thought it was a woman's perfume. I sprayed it and thought it was a bit masculine for my taste then quickly realised it is a blokes aftershave. It's okay I suppose. Very typical sort of 90s smelling, fresh, citrusy, slightly herbal aftershave smell. Smells a bit orangey even though it's not listed as a note and the juice is orange. I can't smell any cinnamon or nutmeg, nor any woody notes tbh. Once it dries down all I can really pick out is the basil. Nothing of any great note, but not a horrible smell either. I feel like I've smelled this 100 times before and it vaguely reminds me of when my dad would be going out to the pub and he'd put his aftershave on then give me a kiss goodbye. I don't think he ever wore the original of this, and obviously not this version from 2022 but similar sort of things except his weren't as fresh and had more of a spicy kick. I have no idea what I'll do with this, it'll probably be kept for when my son starts wearing fragrances. I actually do know what it reminds me of and it's Lynx, not sure which one, just a combo of all of them except the chocolate one. That's Axe for people in the US. I remember my dad having some of the actual aftershaves and not just the deodorants and this is pretty much how they smelled.

Gone is the orange creamsicle replaced with a burst of bergamot kissed with basil and pink pepper, then warms into a cozy chai-like spice blend that feels like slipping on a favorite hoodie. The dry down smooths out with creamy sandalwood, a soft powdery musk, and just enough backbone to feel put together, even if you’re not. Without the orange the scent stays true to the original—creamy, warm spices, and a smooth woody base—just with a slightly drier edge and a quick alcohol pop up top. It’s familiar, wearable, and still earns compliments without trying too hard. Perfect for gym bags, office drawers, or your “I just want to smell good” days, Boss In Motion 2022 is a laid-back all-rounder with a spark creamy powdery charm. Great for spring, fall, or whenever you want to smell like effort without actually making any.

Smells really good, the dry down is my favourite. Turns into a really nice orange, creamy and warm scent. But unfortunately it become almost unnoticable after maybe 30-40 minutes, people would have to put their face right next to your skin if they want to smell it. Reallly bad longevity. Projection is fine, nothing special. Even after desperately spraying 8-10 times on skin and clothes, only people within an arms length from you can smell it, and that being for a few minutes before it pretty much disappears. if you're going out, i'd reccomend carrying a decant so that you can reapply it throughout the day when it dies down.

Smells very nice, though a bit perfumy. Warm, soft, creamy orange. Almost Fougère-ish. My bottle needed to macerate about two months. It’s smoother better blended than the original formulation w/ less of the 90’s vibe. It’s not nearly as ‘fruity’ as others say. I don’t get bergamot here, it’s orange & it’s subtle. Nutmeg & sandalwood are smooth, providing a lovely aura of warmth. It’s missing something though.. like neroli/ orange blossom.

On skin, opening notes are strong plastically scent of Tutti Fruity bubblegum and ISO-E Super, which later becomes very sharp musky note with sandalwood and nutmeg. Overall it smells like teens during late 90's/ early 2000s. it reminds me of STR8 fragrances, almost identical to STR8 Ahead.

Maybe you guys have a clever guy in your company who is trustworthy enough to convince management that EDT concentration is horsesht and doesnt last more than 30mins And for this remarkable yet simple frag to bring back old design and go for parfume version

Like others said, the current squared bottle presentation is a nice OJ for the summer, just crippled by bad performance. Compared to other orange strong products, Terre D ́Hermés is stronger, less fizzy and dirtier, Rabanne ́s Ultrared is sweeter and longer lasting, Concentré d'orange by Hermés is stronger and realistic, etc. So this is a watery mandarin that's a skin scent and a tad better on fabrics but doesn't really grant a buy by no standards. My regret is 30€ worth.

Sandalwood a la Allure Homme, but with Hugo freshness that’s found in many of their millenial-origin releases. Also deep down it is reminiscent of CK Truth probably with Basil x Adoxal combo. This one has the same freshness combining with orange and a touch of violet leaf, it’s just hard to dislike, and a big like for me because I’m a fan of 90’s and 00’s era perfumery + the sandalwood used here. Banana Republic M is my go-to orange scent but for summer, this could do well in other seasons.

Read the reviews on the previous version and trusted that the new presentation is exactly the same...it absolutely is the same..exactly the same. An original and mysterious cologne with a creamy orange vanilla envelope and spicy musk layers...most likely not popular in the contemporary market but those who know about this one all love it for the same reasons...a vibrant modern cologne with a classic twist...

To me it was fruity. Like really fruity. Mainly stuff like oranges but like weaker oranges like maybe tangerine, but it's really fresh and nice. The bergamot can be noticed though. It's just fruity to me. Another thing I noticed about this is the bottle looks better in person, more vibrant. Smell 8/10 Performance 6.5/10 Value 9/10 Overall 7.5/10
