Boss In Motion Black

Boss in Motion Black opens with a very soft projection of mostly kumquat, bergamot, and ginger. The opening accords are very faint. The kumquat is a note that can be described as a combination of unsweet orange, with mild sour and green vegetable-like accord. The grapefruit, myrrh and sandalwood, and very faint accords. As the fragrance transitions to its dry-down, the faint bergamot accord dissipates leaving a combination of mostly kumquat and ginger. The opening is soft, the dry-down is even softer, projection is at its lowest. Once Boss in Motion Black has reached its full dry-down, it can be summarized as an ultra-soft, very low projection, kumquat and ginger fragrance with very faint bergamot and sandalwood accords. Great daytime smell for spring. Nice and subtle so someone needs to get close to smell it but very good smelling.

Man I don’t know why I hate it so much, smells like it had a hard time deciding what it wanted to be. It seems like it wants to be a soft pleasant frag, but the smell is anything but. I love the original in motion... this is awful. I’m glad I got a sample first... terrible. The dry down is tolerable, but other options are better.

Well, Hugo sure likes his oranges. Only this time he decided to throw one in Mount Doom, but then changed his mind. It's basically orange peel, ginger and cumin. To me it's rather foul and sticky sweet smelling (thanks to the myrrh?). Like I said, freshness thrown into a pile of dirt.

Found it in a closet, smells sour for some reason.

Agree with comments here by "tommy_girl". Very masculine, could not mess with modern "greenny unisex". Slightly mint. While is not "aquatic", it is rather "oceanic" than pure "woody". Very strong. But I feel the chemistry is *A BIT* lower than first-class french perfumes. Despite this it is much better than any of modern "italians". Reminds me Bvlgary "Aqua pour homme", but less complex, less sharp, for everyday wear. It is not that "black sweet" as Paco Rabanne "XS Black", but it is rather DARK BLUE. And yes, definitely under-priced and under-marketed as for its class. Lasts long without *any* changes.

This one & boss in motion blue are my favorite boss in motions.the black version is even more bossy enough sporty to make it suitable for young men who pursuit a professional carrier. fresh & full of citruses it's one of the best choices for summer wear.comparing to the other in motion colors,it's more elegant and official.the ginger is the only spicy note of this fragrance and enough to make it masculine. the long lasting power is fair but I don't see it much in markets very much nowadays.maybe that's why nobody has posted here.

i totally agree with snitchings that opening smells like some kind of detergent. it's so hard nowadays to make fresh, fruity perfume without automatic comparision them to detergents. that's because of all those synthetics ingredients in fragrances. we have the same problem in many good fragances like: allure homme blanche, one summer, eau de rochas etc. so the question is: are perfumes so weak or detergents are so good nowaday?

i have this perfume and it smells lovely on the drydown. it lasts way longer on cold days. the top notes, however, smell a bit like some sort of detergent from p&g. DAZ to be precise.

This 2006 edition is the best out of all of those "ball shaped" fragrances... For me it was rather, citrus and wood, very fresh fragrance indeed. 7/10

It's a bit citric and sharp. Not bad, but better for the younger. IT's a bit sporty, as well. OK, but not very mature.
