BOSS The Collection Wool & Musk

Simple scent. This is Hugo Boss firing off a rushed and arguably unfinished fragrance to cash in designers launching niche lines at the time of it's creation. Reminds me a bit of a mix of Platinum Egoiste (without the platinum) mixed with Musc Ravageur (without the ravageur 😂) I like this one for what I paid. It's a warm musk with a soft sandalwood backbone, and a faint touch of cinnamon. This really does smell like clean wool from your favorite sweater. Similar to Parfums de Nicolai Amber Cashmere in that regard. Performance is below average, but it it does smell good, and can be used for layering. Appropriate for all occasions except night out situations. Scent 7/10 Performance 3/10 P.S. Don't pay big money for this. I've seen this being sold for 150. I got 2 bottles around 22 dollars each and it's really good for that price. Don't pay over 35 dollars.

This could have been one of the nicest fragrances in Hugo Boss line but it disappears in an hour or so and silage is not there. The scent profile is amazing! I don't get why though the power was not given to it?! I picked my bottle for $15. If you find one at that price it might worth it but definitely not more than that. Update: This is such a beautiful scent and shame on you Hugo Boss for not giving it more punch. They went all the way through the process of making such a beautiful scent but then decided to dial it back for production. Shame on you! You did the same to all the fragrances from this line at least the ones I have. All very nice and beautifully blended but no power.

The cinnamon and musk stand out with the sandalwood being less prominent. The scent stays very close to the skin. The dry down is reminiscent of Calvin's Klein's Obsession For Men with a bit of musk added.

Ore components, nothing new but that doesn't mean its not worthy to wear, you wont be wearing it for long !

While I get where you are coming from Dorjee (comment/review below) the general critique of musk perfumes (which really could be extended to other forms of non creative perfume) another part of me thinks....you don't know what the hell you're talking about LOL. Minimal and musky perfumes like this are actually really hard to get right, because there's nowhere to hide, it's hard to stamp your mark on a 'musk blend' this is why the good ones are sublime and the okay ones are just okay and the bad ones don't really exist as such because you'd have to really fuck it up to make a 'bad' one. This falls into the okay set so I guess ya man Dorjee has a point here? (from 6 years ago, jesus maybe I should've just let Boss musk lie without review?) Anywho, this is not your warm ambrette, angelica musk, at least not at first. It's quite a clean, laundered smell which I don't find very interesting, it doesn't really have the twinkling facets that should appear out of the musk to dazzle and make you go....ahhh this is a bit of a composition. If I had to compare to another musk I do like I'd say Essential parfums The Musc, but that is many orders of magnitude better and more interesting. This is not a bad perfume, in fact it's very nice and gets better as it dries down (as expected) because the musks warm up and it's cozy with your skin, and stylistically it's right in the midst of my taste, but it's a BOSS. It's from a line that just doesn't need to exist, I don't mean that in a harsh way and these actually came out around the time many other well known designers thought, I know we'll have an 'EXCLUSIVE/PRIVATE' line too! No they didn't.

Not sure about this! Very overpowering! It needs toning down!

The saler assistant was convincing me this range of fragrances is unisex. I'm so surprised this range is only for men. I just tried this in a paper strip & it smells nothing much but clean & innocent musk. I don't think this one is overpowering or anything like that as I can hardly smell it now after a few hours. This one is perfectly a unisex despite the range is dedicated for gentlemen only. I know scents like this wool musk id not meant to last, it's like a cool splash in a hot summer day. You can also mix it with anything else like a flowery fragrance or woody or anything you like. It's in my wish list now after I tried it & I'm so glad I did.

I've tried it and tried it, but something's just not right in this... I don't sense any cinnamon but a tremendous volume of musk. The sandalwood is apparent. It's not offensive, but I get the urge to mix it with something else. Like it's just not finished. It's almost more like an incense than a fragrance for personal wear.
