Boss The Scent Eau de Parfum Intense

I think the only Boss scents I like are Magnetic and Scent Elixir. This one falls in that ballpark. Resinous, nutty, sweet and effervescent. Reminds me of a rum cola first but with a thick smoky syrup touch? Not sure how to explain it. Like this lactonic feel sandalwood/musk can give. Then it transforms into spicy Werthers cream candies... Edit: Just checked and the perfumer also did Magnetic, so it makes a lot of sense. I don't fully remember how it smelled, but I'd say it's either a reformulation of that one, or, same idea, but more grown up or winter (less versatile). Edit 2: Magnetic is fresher, Elixir is darker/more alluring, this is more nutty/spicy. Intense should be called Magnetic Intense or Magnetic Night. If this had a decent atomizer, it would be a 10. Banger.

DFOTY Candidate. (Designer fragrance of the year). Fantastic addition to the 'Scent' lineup. I'm a fan of Boss stuff, so what can I say. I'm a bit biased. Even the ones no one likes, I like. Whatever. This stuff is great. Maninka combined with the light booze in the mid is so damn good. It comes off the skin initially bright, then slowly deepens up into a really enjoyable (and long lasting) ambery dry down. Unmistakably a Boss The Scent flanker. And very well done. My wife loved it immediately. That says it all, really. She did mention 'chocolate' but said it comes across mildly tropical to her. Either way, that's a win. She can be really picky...

Sort of sits in between Magnetic and the Elixir... I guess, which means I like it. But it doesn’t take The Scent in any bold nor interesting new directions. I prefer Magnetic’s maturity and the Elixir’s brighter and broader general appeal. EDIT: After several more wearings I’ve grown to like this more and more. Initially I rated this below Magnetic and Elixir but now I enjoy it just as much as the other two The Scents mentioned. The liquor and a very slight incense notes carry on for a surprising amount of time and give the “Intense” designation legitimacy.

Love this and worn it out few times since recently buying this and had loads compliments! Fragrantica is missing notes as usual it seems ! This has cardamom and leather ! Starts of almost fresh ginger and fruit then becomes thicker warmer from the amber cardamom leather in drydown nice stuff lasts quite good as well especially on clothes

Despite this line being rightly labelled as "tired", this is actually really nice. Sweet maninka, syrupy like something you'd put in a cocktail. Plenty of amber keeps it grounded, and citruses don't run away. Will be buying this soon - mass appealing and night out suitable.

Love at first sniff, not really anything new or groundbreaking, but it is so pleasant and nice, warm and cosy scent, it cuts through the cold winter air like a warm jacket that embraces you, i liked it a lot and will buy it for sure.

One of those fragrances I simply cannot get enough of! - Smooth - Rich - Easily worn - People pleaser Will be my signature sent for a long while that's for sure! 8.5/10

I tried it today in a store ; it is rather masculine leaning in the opening. They still put these aromatic accords in men fragrances. Fortunately, it tones down during the dry down (becoming unisexe) while still being there, giving it a « fresher » take, but the amber+sweetness of the fruit is amped up. Getting some sort of whiskey+ caramelized/ambery+cardamom (bitterness)-like addictive scent profile. I might still wear it myself as a woman. It’s very uncommon, while recognizable with the Boss scent dna and addictive.

Smells great. fruity with a soft amber. Mass appealing smells like most male mall perfumes. Good projection for the first hour. Definitely worth it for $50-60US.

I wonder if the scent might be unisexe? Can someone tell me please, or is too masculine leaning?

This is very nice, like a remastered version of the original. For the first time after a million flankers I get the maninka fruit distinctly, and I do not get hints of bruised apple at occasional whiffs, which happened all the time with previous iterations. The mandarin opening is also vastly improved, now very very close to Amyris Homme for a minute or two after spraying. It's like a bubblegummy version of only the sweetness of a mandarin, and will help move more units in store because it is a nose grabber. But it only lasts a few seconds, and gives place to the ginger, cardamon and the best version (yet) of the Scent's staple fruity accord. A very designer nondescript ambery base then starts to show up, the woody accord from the og is mostly missing, but you do get a tiny leathery nuance here and there. One hour in and the projection has stopped, four hours later you need to sniff intensely to find it on skin. So, yeah, not exactly intense, but much better than the original. I have never smelled Private Accord so I don't know about that. The rest of the flankers were interesting to me (the elixir was disappointing since the spicy lavender opening was deceiving and fleeting) but nothing in the line is a love. It's not designer slop, but it's a bit unremarkable. It could be worn anywhere apart from really hot days. So, I guess, yay for Hugo Boss.

First impressions test (5ml Decant) The fragrance opens with a sharp clarity. The core of the Maninka is enveloped in a nasal opening cloud with spicy crystals. As the fragrance blooms, the bright-spicy nuance of the opening disappears, and the Maninka is joined by the warm glow of that amber accord and has a slight gourmand edge. Between 30-45min the projection is heavy, but only for ±20min. In the dry-down the Amber-Maninka floats on a cloud of creamy vanilla. In the background, a ghost of a razor-thin leather accord shimmers through that gives the scent a slightly rough edge. Projection and sillage are moderate after 1.5hr (on my skin). Not tested on fabric yet. And as for the longevity, with 3 sprays on the back of my hand, is poor. After 2-3hrs it becomes a skin scent. And It doesn't smell even remotely like The Scent Magnetic, which I also have and which smells really nice. Is the scent special or groundbreaking? Not really. It’s a sub-35 age group fragrance, purely suited for a date night.

Nothing special, repeated designer perfume. Shame on Boss to launch this perfume after the legendary Boss Botteled Absolu

This scent opens subtly orangey, light, and nondescript. A bit on the synthetic side. Similar to Azzaro Wanted by Night in character but different texturally. The drydown is a dusty fruit accord that I do like. A lot of fruit fragrances on the market come across like gross cough syrup or lollipops (think Valentino Coral Fantasy) but this one is like a woody dusty powder. It gives a slight illusion of realism if you squint; it is kinda like putting your nose up to the dry skin of a dehydrated fruit. A dried old apricot from the expired bag of trail mix in your grandpa’s cupboard. I am smelling it side by side with the Elixir flanker and I notice a lot of similarities. Truly, I don’t think you would need both unless you have OCD. The Elixir is a little more vibrant in the opening and has a pleasant red berry-sandalwood note in the drydown. This EDP Intense one has a less impressive opening but the drydown is just 5% sweeter, more equatorial in feeling, and subtly ambery. I think they exist for roughly the same autumnal sweater weather. 8.1/10

Maninka is unmistakably present. Adds a very nice twist. It's way more interesting than some other from the scent line
