Boss The Scent Intense

Hugo and Bruce Springsteen were the bosses during my twenties. I remember more than a couple of friends of mine that consumed every product carrying the Hugo Boss brand name. Even if Hugo Boss clothing was kind of difficult to reach by youngsters with small pockets, perfumes were easier to get and everybody was hooked on the striped bottle of the original Number One.This iconic perfume was - it still is - alluring, performant and with an unmistakable manly woodiness and honey sweetness that captivated everyone's attention. This scent was so good that outshined the launching of Boss Bottled (Boss Number Six) in 1998. Boss Bottled has always been an uninteresting fragrance, nice but boring. It became more lively with the Intense versions. The Intense EDP version has a good acceptance nowadays but it is a bit pricey and appeared "only" 18 years after the original version. The original "The Scent" EDT showed up in 20015 with an expensive fanfare launching, promising that fragrance to be the next Boss upscale mainstream hit. Unfortunately for Coty that has not been the case. If "Bottled" was to common, "The Scent" is just to different. Being different does not always ensure success and the new strong maninka note, that no competitor uses, has a major market trial for this very nice amber coloured juice bottled in a very beautiful flask. Hugo Boss (probably Coty) did not take the same amount of time to react to the market passivity. This Intense version was launched in 2017 along with the very good and more expensive and exclusive Parfum Edition, and in 2018 was launched the "Private Accord" version. Even if the Parfumo and Fragrantica elite active users don't reward the new Boss perfumes with top votings, well known youtubers - like Redolessence - gained high marks for both Intense and Private Accord when confronting them with a vast number of competitors, specially when using women noses for the tests. As far as I am concerned I like this Intense version a lot. The Scent Intense is a woody, seductive and addictive Eau De Parfum available in a large 100ml or small 50 ml bottle. It opens with spicy notes of ginger and cardamom that frame an exotic maninka fruit during the heart evolution. Sweet dark vanilla and woody smoky strong leather are disclosed in the bottom and are combined to reveal the scent drydown strength. On my skin (3 sprays) it lasted for 7~8 hours from which almost 4 hours as a projecting scent that people around me could at least notice, and more than 3 hours as a strong skin scent. I got spontaneous compliments from women while wearing it, with adjectifs such as "strong" and "sexy" scent. For the first couple of hours the maninka note prevails together with ginger, and, in the drydown, you get a pleasant sweet leather woody scent. Value for money is above average if you like the different maninka note. Always choose this version over the original. You may also decide for the more aromatic "Private Acord" version (mocha and cocoa notes) or for the even more intense and iris scented "Parfum Edition". Both are very masculine and suitable for any user looking for a manly scent. Recommended? Yes due to its looks, quality and uniqueness. Blind buy worthy? No, you better try it first. I recommend this fragrance. It is an almost inexpensive niche quality unique fragrance. But you may reject the maninka scent, so do try it first.

Hit Or Miss, Who Knows? I still remember when I tested The Scent for Him EAU DE TOILETTE for the very first time. It fascinated me straightforwardly and I liked it a lot. Well, The Scent Intense is even better. To be honest, I don't understand the controversial rating, Love and Dislike roughly have the same rating. I don’t comprehend all the hate for this fragrance. Though, the mode is a solid 7, which is not bad at all. The Scent Intense is a classic cologne, not groundbreaking, but it deserves more than 7. Besides, I find it something that transmits me strength, confidence, elegance, and style. If you have never come across The Scent Intense, you must know that it is a perfume full of cool spicy, aromatic, semi-sweet, and slightly leathery accords, with smoky and powdery undertones. Compared to the original, it has lifted and amplified the more aphrodisiac ingredients. And the Hugo Boss DNA is there; like Guerlain’s “Guerlinade”, Hugo Boss fragrances also have a secret formula present in each perfume, recognizable as a trademark. While it has a core built around the Maninka fruit, which delivers the sweet and fruity edges of this essence, the key players in the opening are the spices. There is a profound cool breeze coming from the spicy ginger root that tingles in my nose, along with a minty and balsamic undertone of cardamom, so green, resinous, and aromatic. The bitter freshness lasts for about ten minutes, and it’s on my face, energetic, bright fresh, and crisp, before revealing a fruity and aromatic heart, full of intriguing hints. The opening pleases me. In the heart, therefore, the aphrodisiac fruit Maninka awaits me, already used in its predecessor, but here it has been intensified, amplified, and appears even more powerful. Its facets are rich and complex, magnetic, with a dried fruit aroma and strawberries dipped in chocolate. But I like the fruity component and it doesn’t disturb at all. The exotic and unknown fruit blends with the aromatic facets of lavender, a soothing and grooming aroma from the bluish blossoms stolen from the fougére family. The middle notes of this perfume stay with me for a long before the leather jumps in. The dry-down reveals a massive dose of wood, with a tone of powdery vanilla and smoky leather shades. The leathery notes are sophisticated, soothing, and not too raw or animalic. However, it gives strength to the scent with wet dampness. The sweet vanilla is spicy, cosy, and inviting to cuddle. The fresh opening settles down into a refined, warm, and sensual caress. There is more bitterness than sweetness despite the fruits. This perfume is ideal for parties, dates, and romantic evenings, and is best worn in cold weather evenings and nights. It is intense from a redolence point of view. Indeed, the performances are moderate, the projection is not obnoxious and the scent moves close to the skin after an hour or so. It lasts a good nearly five hours, but it works fine for evening or night events. Bottom line, a lot of people say it is ordinary, though, it features the Maninka fruit that has not been used in any other fragrances before, other that The Scent series. I'm basing my feelings and review on a bottle I've owned since December 2021.

I really don't get all the hate about this fragrance. I almost overlooked this one and tried due to the salesperson's suggestion, and instantly loved it! It has a fresh and fruity opening due to ginger and maninka, but I can smell the leather right from the beginning and tell that it will dry down into a leathery scent. After 10 minutes, the freshness decreases but is still kept in place by the lavender note stepping in. At this point, I must say that it becomes somewhat of a generic man's fragrance, which I do not really like at this price point. After 1 hour, it dries down into a leathery vanilla scent with a hint of fruit, which is very nice in my opinion. I bought an 50 ml bottle because it was on discount, and I would suggest everyone to do so. Not sure if it is worth the full price though. Overall, this one has very safe and pleasant smell and is a crowd pleaser. Pros: - Easily Likeable - Safe and versatile - Smells beautiful - Lasts long - Great dry down Cons: - Not quite unique - Sillage is moderate at most - Becomes a skin scent in dry down

The Scent Intense is a woody, spicy and leathery fragrance. Its opening is fruity and spicy, where the aroma of ginger is perceptible in a sweet way. A few minutes later the fragrance settles into an aroma of vanilla, maninka and leather, and no longer changes in its development. The aroma of its drying phase is quite attractive, especially if the aroma of the maninka is to your liking. The Scent Intense is a fragrance that lives up to its name of "Intense" compared to the regular version, because its duration is much longer (with me it lasted almost 10 hours and a good sillage the first hour, then it drops to regular). It is suitable for use on cold days, especially in autumn and winter, for casual, romantic use or family parties. I had not used the Intense version for a long time and I liked it almost as much as the Private Accord version. Even so, my favorite version is still the Parfum Edition, which is the most formal and elegant, but this Intense can be used as a complement in more casual situations. I'm lovin 'it.

Hello to you all! I ve been reading reviews from fragrantica for some time and learned a lot so thank you all for reviews. I am wearing boss scent intense for a couple of months now and this is my humble opinion. When I put it on my skin(3 sprays) it smells for good 7 hours from which 5 as a scent that people around me notice strong and 2 as a skin scent but strong one. I got compliments from women for it like strong and sexy scent. Maninka note is prevailing in it with ginger for long time and in drydown its a pleasant leather woody scent. Its not the best scent out there but its a decent one. I tried boss the scent and its pretty the same but softer then intense. Its more night time fragrance but it can pass as a work and everyday scent if not applied to much. Scent 8/10 Longevity 9/10 Sillage 8/10 Versatility 7/10 Overall 8

"The Scent Intense" is so beautiful !! The whole scent line is all about the 'Maninka' fruit DNA. Very unique. And the Intense version(EDP) I feel is the best in the whole 'Scent' line. This EDP version especially has the perfect combination of Ginger and Maninka and the right blend of leather making it the finest in that line. (The Maninka + leather combination in the "Intense" may not be a mass pleaser though.) The Maninka them intensity is best expressed in this "Intense" version. Much better than the OG 'Scent', Private Accord(more gourmand/chocolatey), or the 'Scent Absolute' version. "Le Parfum" is more feminine/uni with iris/powdery touch. "Magnetic" is a smoother and beautiful version of Le Parfum but far far from the OG Scent or this "Intense" version. Longevity, projection and sillage of all are great (5~6 hrs).

I have /the scent intense/ and /the scent private accord/ and I love them both. Woody, leathery, green apple...ly, I just love it. Don't understand the hate. Yes it's a leather, but very classy. Like a leather interior in your Merc. Not like a leather biker jacket (such as JV dark rebel). The apple is a nice touch. I got an unsolicited compliment from a girl. Definitely for cooler days and nights. Don't risk the scent in the summer, or you might not like it. I prefer this immensely over Boss Bottled. I had a Boss Bottled clone from LIDL a while back, so it makes me sick, although people seem to like it. But THE SCENT is where I'm at now. And Private accord... oh yes. Cup O Coffee please.

In short Hugo Boss The Scent Intense is a pleasant aromatic and warm smelling fragrance. I was surprised to discover the longevity has improved on my skin. When I first bought it I was getting about 5-6 hours at most. Now it seems I'm getting around 9-10 hours. I guess it's down to the time of day and season or my nose has atuned to it over time!? Anyway, I've come to enjoy and appreciate this one and a definite upgrade on the original "The Scent"! Absolute is really good too, but my real favourite is the "Private Accord" addition! Out of 10 I give Intense 7.5 and is well worth having it in a collection.

Maar jongen wat mag ik hopen dat deze herfst de hele "The Scent' lijn van Hugo Boss dat gaat overnemen, stel je toch eens voor hoe heerlijk dat zou zijn ...Oh als dat toch eens mag zijn. Hoe lekker. - Fed up with the current scent profile in public spaces, all those synthetic variations of amber and vanilla. But boy, I hope that starting this fall, Hugo Boss's entire "The Scent" line will adopt that. Just imagine how wonderful that would be... Oh, if only that were possible. How wonderful.

I searched like crazy for a while for Boss The Scent Intense and finally found a new, sealed 50ml bottle. I was under the impression that this 2017 Eau de Parfum Intense had been discontinued for a while, but upon unpacking it, I discovered it had the new hexagonal bottle and the batch code 5272 with a production date of September 29, 2025. Miracles still happen, I guess! And yet it's so hard to find; I don't understand a thing about it. - I have them all and love them, but of course as you might expect this is the best! Everything in this one is familiar, but mixed at best.

Beautiful scent. I have to admit that I was not very fond of it when I bought it like a year ago. Actually I bought it by mistake. I was trying to get boss bottled instead. But now, I enjoy so much it spicy freshness/ boozy leathery style. At the same time it does has an unusual fruity vibe that may cause an initial rejection. Nevertheless, I think it has the same vibe of Dior Fahrenheit le Parfum or Man in Black by Bvlgari. Really nice fragrance to wear on the right time.

THE SCENT INTENSE by the GERMAN Fashion house HUGO BOSS 💼🪵🍊 This fragrance is the WARMER and SPICIER version of the OG. The opening is a little SOUR because of the GINGER note. The MANINKA (a plant from AFRICA) provides a pleasant SWEET FRUITY accord. Then, it gets a “chameleonic transformation”... it feels LEATHERY and WOODY. it’s a 4x4 smell to be wore any time of the year, formal or casual attire, office friendly and business men. Rate: 🥈 Note: the OG is still my fav.

Hugo Boss is known to put out a lot of fragrances, too many to keep up with. But every now and then they release one that stands out as a very good scent. This is one of them. Nice, rich, smooth, full of flavor and a slightly mature vibe, but not too mature, just enough to be taken serious. Sometimes they are hit or miss with their fragrances but this one is a hit in my opinion. I dig it, my wife loves it, she actually was the one who wanted me to buy it. Good stuff.

Typical, moronic people already started rating/voting just from clouds. If you do not like it, which is not really possible without trying, there is no need to spread this imaginary hate on things in life with false/incorrect ratings on fragrances performance, or something like "I do not like this bottle, or this specific note lets rate the longevity and sillage as low as possible, that is just absurd. Other thing, fragrantica needs an anti-bot system.

This is worse than edc" As you should know, the performance is different on every skin, i share my experience with this frag, if you don't like it, it is not my problem. Great scent, great performance, but it is my opinion, that's why Fragrantica is, to share our experience and personal opinions about tested fragrances.

Opens with the spicy, leather notes and I get the cardamon ok. The spices fade away over 1-2 hours. Leaves a very balanced spicy stronger deeper version of The Scent with the sweet base evident throughout but not overpowering. Nice scent IMO as more complex, long-lasting and interesting than the original and I was looking for something different and this fitted the bill (for me anyway).

Having the original batch (if that means anything) and coming back to it after 7 years or so, this stuff is still super sexy, almost safe as in shower gel, but a bit of gourmand as well. Strange, but really really nice. This scent will make a women a bit more attracted to you for sure. Not that it really matters, but it's a unique vanilla, slightly dark, relatively fresh too!

Cardamom is a note that works really well on my skin, and it`s my favourite note, so obviously I love this scent. On my skin, it doesn't project at all, it's a skin scent from start ot end. But for a daily driver, it is pretty damn good. I love this scent, but wish it had more projection and longevity. If you get it at a discount, it is good value for money, I`d say.

...while the original Scent was still too weak, now this one is perfect on me. It is still very expensive to buy, but i really had to get this, after i tried in the store. This Scent makes me feel comfortable, thats why i can recommend it. Forget about the bad ratings here, just go and try it yourself

Like the other reviews !dont try on blotter as smells too pungent and offensive ,smells amazing on the skin ! At fragrance training we learnt about maninka fruit not being used in other perfumes and very new to being extracted as a scent!gives a richer and nuttier heart to the fragrance

Loved the original "The Scent" even when it had so much hate, for me it was unique enough scent with above average performance. This probably will be more smooth and rich with added Cardamom and Vanilla, hopefully will have an amazing performance just like Bottled Intense Parfum.

Team Hugo Boss, It is time! I want a summer version of The Scent. One that is a worthy addition to The Scent line, and works for at least 5 hours. And it’s not coming in without Maninka! I don't demand much!

Was very skeptical but I just tested almost every frag at my local Macy's and this one blew some of the more famous houses out of the water. Great leather and spice. This and GGA best releases of the year

Best version of the scent line. So it has been discontinued and were released another two or three version that are not that good by far. You ask why? Because it is Hugo Boss :(

Absolutely love this frag, almost beast performance. I've used it about half an year, performance - close to Eros by my opinion. Best for winter nights.

Guys if you haven't tried the intense version than why do you rate or review it.Looking foward to try this one and I hope that it won't disappoint me.

The hugo boss scent intense is so great, it's one of my favourite fragrances really and I loved it. Well done Hugo Boss.

Really good. But I prefer Bottled fragrance line. People who dislike this perfume have no sense of taste.

******************************************* the SCENT vs The SCENT INTENSE ******************************************* I think people get confuse because the bottles LOOK ALIKE: Light Silver Top = The SCENT (gone in 2hrs) Dark Silver Top = The SCENT INTENSE (last much longer) Copper Top = the SCENT private accord (Beast) ********************************* How they different in SCENT ********************************* the SCENT poor performance lasting only 2~3hrs. This is a freshie due to its heavy concentration of peppery Ginger + Lavendar. Sadly bad reputation hurt the entire SCENT line :-( the SCENT INTENSE is a completely different scent that lasted over 6hrs on me due to its heavy Vanilla drydown. This is not a Freshie but an gorgeous ORIENTAL. I can describe this scent intense in 4 words as: Spicy Fruity Vanilla Leather . Performance is quite good, as good as my Versace Eros with similar Vanilla drydown. If you like Versace Eros, then you'll like the SCENT INTENSE as well. Both are Fruity Vanilla. The newest SCENT PRIVATE ACCORD has dense Chocolate syrup vibe from the beginning to the end. This is a beastly performance and borderlining Gourmandish. I hope that clarify the differnces. I think Hugo Boss marketing share the blame; stop making bottle that look so closed to one another.

I do not understand what is going on here I tried this frag which is simply perfect great unique scent Of course long lasting In comparison to other many scents here with very poor performance which have great overhyped reviews Please do not buy any frag depending on any youtube review esp Jeremy frag which overhyped la nuit and made me bought it and it gives very bad performance lower than water and soap and to smell it you must stuck your nose into skin Even mostly all the rewiers on youtube saying not only the same jeremy opnions but also saying his exact words Today i was at big annual expo for perfumes held in my countery and nearly all brands was there I went to hugo boss and he gave me 2 spary over my hand and i continued there for 3 hours smelling more than 20 other frags At the end the only unique one there was boss scent intense And i tried all la nuit ysl and simply the 4 flankers with the original was like water Many thanks for hugo boss on this master unique frag EDIT: After using it for one week now it is very similar to D&G The One Edp nearly the same smell with much better performance and longivity So i think it is better choice and surrogate for anyone loving the one and disappointed because of its bad performance

The New INTENSE is much improve over the original the SCENT but didn't get any attention since Hater just jump on a Hate Train without smelling it. This is a very different fragrances. 【La Nuit de L'Homme + CH MAN Prive + EROS = New INTENSE】 You take the • Spicy CARDAMON from (YSL La Nuit de L'homme) + Soothing VANILLA from (Versace Eros) + punch up LEATHER from (CH Man Prive) = the New Boss Scent INTENSE 10/10 on the SCENT - best of everything in one bottle 7/10 on Longevity - last about 5~6 hrs as skin scent 5/10 on Projection- it sits closed, best for office or as date scent 7/10 on Value I'm on my 4th sample bottles from Macy (shy, I'll buy it when price comes down). I ♥ the way it smell, and I ♥ the way it dry down with interesting transition. What I'm trying to say is that don't criticize this frag without testing it. It is so much improved from the boring original. Give it a shot!

stupidly heavy at first, no way near the stated 'fresh and energetic'. probably that spice and alcohol makes it disturbing. after 1-2 hours,i fell in love with it. it settles to some nice -but still spicy- maninka and vanilla tones. it smells great for the next 8-10 hours. longevity on skin is a tough pill to swallow since it's nearly non existent for an eau de parfum that's this heavy, but on clothes it's the exact opposite. definitely a night fragrance, you only get the boss dna at night. sillage is one of the worst of its kind. even though i was about to puke with that overwhelming heaviness at the start, no one noticed till they actually smelled it from the bottle. since the start is too heavy, you can't really put too much on, that might be the reason for this. overall, huge potential with the drydown and the performance in cold. don't blind buy, and also spray and wait for the drydown before you buy.

I have seen so much disrespect about this perfume so i wanna give my opinion. As the OG 2015 is my signature fragnance , i wanted to try this. The opening is so sweet and i can smell leather from the beggining honestly. Personally i liked the OG because i like Agrumes in the opening and the direction vers Maninka. So for this Intense only the opening is not so good for me personally but im still smelling it after 2 hours and i really like it and remind me of the original but right here i understood the why its called “Intense” , its when the Maninka stucks with the leather’s charm and persistence of delicious vanilla. I like the OG more only for the personnal choices i mentioned and i have souvenirs with it but if you love sweet notes and try the Maninka , this will go so good with you and will give you compliments , also girls gonna love it.

The opening is a mess but once you pass initial 5-10 min the drydown is very unique and original. In a blind test you will never tell this is Hugo Boss (Coty). This is quite deep, rich frutty-leathery-dusty-sweet fragrance with decent but still average performance 4-6hours with 1h projection. If you are lucky and conditions are fine you will be able to achieve 8h (workday) in the office within 5-8 sprays. Not worth the current price thou but if this drops below 50 euros this could be quite affordable. Its hard to smell something similar in the mainstream nowadays. Reminds me a bit of Red Polo. Overall I dig it !

Intense, expensive but not unique! Actually a nice winter fragrance that smells sweet, syrupy and weird fruity. To be honest this is not a bad smell but if you apply too much it can be a bit nauseous. You will smell maninka which is the main ingredient in this perfume. A bit smells like grape juice. If you like sweet, fruity, modern and slightly feminine scents, highly recommended. Longevity and sillage are moderate to heavy. I liked it but i won't buy a bottle. *Best Hugo Boss still 'Soul' for me!

Quick Update: I got my nose on the new SCENT: Private Accord , and it smell AMAZING. Take the SCENT INTENSE then pour a Melted Hot Chocolate over it. The Performance and Projection is outstanding. The new BLACK PEPPER added to the spicy Ginger give it some serious projection. The newly added BENZOIN + PATCHOULI make it last. Check it out.

In short: its less sweeter, less complex Boss version of SWY Intensely. I dont think there is anything special with this perfume. I think it was Azzaro with similar scent profile. Another similar one would be a Boss Parfum. This one last quite long. Project well too. Its not overly sweet and still got Boss DNA somewhere in background.

It is very fresh and very spicy which gives it its masculinity, it does smell a lot like that maninka fruit and leather. it is very strong so I do not think it is an office fragrance. Im going to give this an 8/10. Also it is way better than the original. It is more well balanced

This is pleasantly excellent. Performance on this is very good. I would say this is nearly niche quality with the darkness of the frag. I didn't love the original, but this one is real nice and the Maninka fruit is very good. Finally - Hugo Boss has a nice release

I have been wearing this one a couple days now and this is actually a decent secent by boss, This is everything i wanted the original to be stronger better longer lasting and overall of a better quality than its predecessor, i actually enjoy this one a lot more,

Had a sample that I tried for a number of days. I really enjoyed this warm, aromatic, spiced scent with a touch of smokiness. The dominant scents were the cardamon and ginger. Definitely a masculine scent that suites the fall and winter.

Very elegant aroma created from the fruitiness mixed with warm spice and clean lavender. Drydown is somewhat masculine but still playful simultaneously. A shame it doesn’t last long on my skin, definitely would have to overspray a lot.

I don't get how 80% of these reviews are dislikes. All the new releases from designer houses are spammed dislikes recently, and I don't understand how fragrantica is allowing that before a fragrance is even out.

I have to agree. Not sure about the hate. This is one of the best smelling colognes I've sniffed in a while. Smelled it at ULTA today and was highly impressed. Going to grab this one soon.
