Boss The Scent Parfum Edition

Updated: 06/28/2020 Hey everyone, back again with another review. Today we're going to be talking about Hugo Boss The Scent Parfum Edition. Back when the original "The Scent" was released, it was such a nice year round kind of fragrance that was spicy/leathery enough to bring some warmth through the colder days. Yet, thanks to the Ginger and Maninka, brings a little cool weather your way on those warmer days. So, what happened here? Well, they kept that same DNA, but added some really clean, fresh, soapy Iris/Orris & some Patchouli into the mix to bring in some added depth. The thing about this one, is upon first sniff there is a blast of blizzard like cold. That frosted black glass is the incorrect color. This should be in a frosted white glass bottle. It's bright, fruity, with a hint of green freshness and something is in there to bring that tundra landscape into the mix. So because of that frozen facet to this Scent, it can be justified to wear in the coldest of days to the hottest of days. Longevity and sillage here this one is kind of a hit or miss. Generally, I can get about 5 hours, and past that it's only a skin scent. It will not fill a room, but does have some reach. However, no one has complained yet in the months I've worn this to work. I have received various compliments, but it's not a monster compliment getter. Which I'm fine with. With all the hype around Blue fragrances, it's nice to have a fragrance heading in a different direction. All in all, definitely one to wear on most occasions. It's such an easy to wear fragrance, but not boring. My only issue is the limited availability. Fantastic scent, but if it has a limited stock, that knocks it down a couple notches.

Beautifully blended. The Scent Parfum smells fantastic, but what certainly shouldn't be called a perfume? Within an hour, it's barely noticeable, a skin scent at best. Le Parfum performs considerably better, and has a strong, chewy opening that lasts over half an hour, which Parfum doesn't. If The Scent Parfum had a longer lasting scent, it would be the ultimate prize for me! - Prachtig gemengd. The Scent Parfum ruikt fantastisch, maar wat zeker niet parfum mag heten, binnen een uur is het nog nauwelijks waarneembaar, hooguit een huidgeur. Le Parfum presteert aanzienlijk beter, en heeft een sterke kauwgum opening van meer dan een half uur, die Parfum niet heeft. Als The Scent Parfum beter zou aanhouden was het voor mij de hoofdprijs!

The Scent Parfum Edition is a woody, slightly fruity and floral fragrance. It begins with a fruity and floral aroma that comes from the characteristic note of all The Scent line, the maninka, as well as the orris note that provides elegance. Once the opening passes, more woody notes such as patchouli and leather are perceived, but the maninka is maintained throughout the development. For me it is the best of the line The Scent by smell, although it projects less than Private Accord or Absolute. It's sad that it was a limited edition, because it could have been a signature fragrance for me.

The opening of it makes it saparete from the scent line little bit of Dior Homme iris mixed with and The Scent Orginal added leather it make it perfect for colder weather. It's not bad even it's not vastly available, but Hugo boss lover will surely got one because of that Matt beautifully black bottle. Alhamdulliah, Got the 1st batch 2017 just for the bottle honestly! عطر خاص و عجیبیه. وقتی اسپری میکنید حس میکنید بوش زود میره. اما با اینکه خودتون و کس دیگه رو آزار نمیده، تا ساعتها تو مشامتون حسش میکنید. بوی سنگین چوبی چرمی داره که من خیلی دوست دارم. Special and weird. When you spray you feel its scent going away. even though you don't disturb yourself or anyone else by wearing it, you will feel it for hours. It has a heavy woody leather smell which I love very much.

Saw this in stores in Germany today. The bottle looks fucking gorgeous.. and the smell? Its pretty much the original 'the scent' with less of the maninka fruit vibe and vamped up leather. I have both the original and the intense version but I like the DNA of this scent so I might buy it for the bottle!

I agree with afterdark this reminds me of Prada l'homme intense but not in the drydown, then it becomes more like its predecessor and tho i find it better than the previous ones i would recommend waiting to buy it until you can get it for half price or so, as its quite expensive at the moment.

I had only heard whispers of this Hugo Boss The Scent flanker within the community. Usually the ones talked about are Private Accord and Magnetic, and rightfully so because they're wonderful fragrances. This one was only mentioned in one or two videos, but left a good impression with the person reviewing it. I decided to blind buy it and find out on my own. Read on to see how it turned out for me; Scent: Opening is powdery leather and woods with that signature maninka fruit note. The leather and woody notes are the most prominent, made powdery from the orris root. The maninka fruit is in the background, but is unmistakeable. After about 10 minutes the leather starts overtaking and becoming the strongest note. The dry down is very similar to the opening, with the addition of some chocolate-y sweetness from the patchouli. The leather, woods, orris, maninka, and patchouli all attain a nice balance with each other. Performance: Initial projection is strong at about 6 feet. Sillage is strong as well, leaving a noticeable scent trail. After a few hours the projection was about 12 inches and there was a mild scent trail. At about the 6-7 hour mark, the projection and sillage was gone and the scent was barely noticeable on my skin. Not the best performance, especially for a parfum concentration. When to wear: This is a fall/winter fragrance. The maninka fruit note makes it versatile enough to be a day or night time scent. Blind buy: If I'm going solely off the scent, I would call this blind buy worthy provided you like the HBTS line or leather forward scents. BUT because of the performance, I'm going to say it's NOT blind buy worthy. Final verdict: It's a really nice fragrance, and a great addition to the HBTS line. The powdery leather and woods give a great spin on the DNA. I just wish the performance was better considering it's a parfum. I think I spent around $100 for a 100ml bottle, and I now feel that was a little too pricey. It also doesn't help that it's discontinued. But from what I've heard the new Le Parfum version is this same fragrance in a new bottle, and after looking at the note breakdown for Le Parfum, I can agree that's probably the case. Either way, I'd say you can probably pass on this one and just stick to Magnetic or Private Accord. If you really want to experience this fragrance, try the new Le Parfum I suppose. Maybe they fixed the performance issue in that release? Scent: 9/10 Longevity: 6/10 Sillage: 6/10

I got this at Ross on clearance and it is pretty good especially for the price I payed . It is powdery from the orris but not overboard . I get a hint of creamy Sandalwood, and a touch of sweetness along with the leather . This one is a good cold weather fragrance . It kinda gives me Valentino Uomo intense vibes but not as intense and definitely not as good . I think it is decent and will grow on me more over time .

I picked this up at a discounted rate. I was looking for a woody Apple pie. That’s the vibe I got when I sprayed it on paper. However... on skin and clothes.. it’s more of a makeup, sweet woody vibe. Projects pretty well. I had a few females compliment me on it.. but generally speaking it’s not my favorite.

Tested it and for the start it's nothing like boss scent intense, totaly different scent. In opening it's leathery woody notes after half an hour it changes intoa weak flowery scent. Not for me,very uninteresting perfume,I'll stick with my boss scent intense which is a good deal for me.

This one is the most different out of the The Scent line. It's still a fresh chocolatey scent, but here it is made smoother and classier. It's discontinued and hard to find right now but you can still sometimes buy it online. I see the "reminds me of" section here is all over the place. To me this still has recognizably the The Scent DNA so I think smelling those will give you the best idea how this smells since it's hard to get a chance to smell this discontinued one. I'd say out of that line it's closest to the new The Scent Le Parfum but it's not the same. It's definitely not at all similar to Dior Homme Parfum or to Prada L'Homme Intense. The Dior Homme Intense comparison is a bit more understandable but still, only kind of. DHI is chocolatey too, but classier and sweeter, whereas The Scent Parfum is still sporty, fresh and just overall "Hugo Bossy". Overall it's a more than decent release, I wonder why it got axed so quickly. It's probably my favorite from the The Scent line, but I wouldn't go crazy for it. You can get mostly the same scent in any of the other popular The Scents like Private Accord, Absolute and Le Parfum, so don't overpay for the Parfum just because it's discontinued.

It's good ? Yes it is Is it the best? no I'm a fan of the hugo boss the scent collection. And for me this perfume cannot overcome the scent absolute. I was disappointed because I expected something more similar to absolute. I expected something with more longevity that would last longer. The problem with this perfume is that for you to feel and to make yourself feel on the nose of others you will have to use it in a lot. In the minimum use 10 sprays and lasts me for 8 hours maximum and projects well in the first 3 hours. Is it in my Top? Yes, but not in the top 3 because if you use it every day, the 100ml perfume will last even 1 month. So for me Top 1 is Hugo boss the scent absloute

The opening is a complete 50/50 mix of Dior Homme and Boss The Scent orginal. It's really good. It has that iris (lipstick/cosmetic) vibe mixed with the original. It's great because its something different. BUT, as it dries down it becomes the original. Not much difference - maybe it's slightly more dimensional, and slightly higher quality, but very, very similar. It's good overall. The bottle is the selling point. The initial blast is the best thing about the scent. Im not saying it is bad, but I was a little disappointed it dried down to the original. Good, but not entirely great. Glad to have a bottle.

I'm with Nesho's review below. This is really uninteresting fragrance. I'm not saying it smells bad. Not at all, but it's like - hm, whatever. Leather feels plastic, citruses are quite nice actually there, but still. I would say it's a safe office fragrance, close to skin, on me it doesn't project well. I got that impression from the bottle and notes that this one should be raw, masculine killer. Not delivered. But if looking for really sexy and realistic masculine leather scent from newer releases, try to check JPG Le Male Essence de Parfum. There we are talking about sexy scent. To me 6/10.

This is discontinued and is going to be replaced with Hugo Boss The Scent Le Parfum. The note breakdown is the exact same but this time around Le Parfum will be here to stay whereas Parfum Edition here was a limited edition which is why it’s getting harder to find

An OK masculine designer leather. If you like or are intrigued by this instead of other designer fragrances out there, you should probably start exploring the niche world instead. Especially considering the price.

Very similar to Prada L'Homme but the longevity is so weak..The price and perfume It's not value..you should better buy Prada L'Homme is good than Hugo Boss Boss The Scent Parfum Edition for men instead.

The fragrance's packaging looks really "niche". This is a sui generis branding by Hugo Boss. I hope the juice inside resonates with its niche-y package!

@Robitnik19 I thought that too! I own the 100ML Parfum version. I’ve heard that The Scent Private Accord has been discontinued, I hope not :(
