Boss Woman

As far as I remember, this was my first perfume. I must have been around 15 years old. I couldn't wear it, and I didn't know what attracted me to the scent. Nevertheless, I asked for it and wore it about 3 times, then I simply had the bottle until it turned. Ages later, I remembered this. I enjoy having it wafting around me so much. Boss Woman is absolutely not in the range of what I'd expect to like, but to my nose it's a really distinct scent, one I remember, and one which I surprisingly still like. The heart notes come through right from the start, and it stays on me for about six hours. On my scarf this lasts for 2-3 days. So the longevity really isn't bad at all! Sillage is about arm's length. This is really fresh. I like that it's not vanilla-y, and still warm. The sandalwood doesn't give me a headache, but it keeps me on my toes. It doesn't cry 'clean' to me because of the wood notes. Neither do I notice any sour citruses, and I agree, the mango in this is not a fully ripened mango, but something younger, greener. That may also be linked to the freesia, which has a peppery fresh, sometimes green odour profile. Boss Woman is almost spicy, but mostly fresh and a little sweet. It's a quite light musky fruity scent to me. A friend smelled it on me and noted that it was a really "feminine" scent to her. Awesome, feminine but not heavy. Perfect for spring. I just ordered the 90ml bottle, and will wear this whenever I need a contemporary trip down memory lane. The only drawbacks for me are the bottle and the name. Let's just not speak about it. Other than that, something I really enjoy! Edited to say that this is now my signature. I love this so much.

Boss Woman is my ultimate choice for summer and spring. It oozes with crispiness, freshness and cleanliness. It is no good to classify it as floral fruity as there is hardly anything fruity about it. Not to my nose, that is. I definitely see that fragrance matching a winter white ruffled shirt with a string of red coral necklace, fitted cropped trousers and red heels. This fragrance is feminine and, unlike some reviewers, I actually cannot sense any similarity to masculine fragrances. Boss Woman is a universal fragrance; perfect when worn to office as well as a casual party with friends at the local karaoke pub. Lasting power and silage are decent; it only needs reapplying every 5 hours or so. The bottle is simple and reflects the nature of the fragrance. 9/10

I cannot say that this fragrance is featureless and generic. It has it's own character. Simply this character is a quit and a calm one not screeching and drawing too much attention. There are no dominant notes, no bitchiness and everything is gently ballasted. It's an universal fragrance without a hint of chemical note. Usually Hugo boss fragrancies sit at me in quite strong and sweet way. This one is the first light and fresh version among Hugo boss fragrances (any case with my skin chemistry). But in no way short lasting. It lasts all the day and even a little bit a day after. I have very gentle whiffs of the white cedar with juicy mango and fresh freesia during all the day. A real all time classic! Good work Hugo Boss!

I love this perfume. Out of my 180 bottle collection, this is the best one to wear at work. It has just the right amount of freshness, it's fruity without being too sweet (green mango is the fruit here), smart, businesslike and helps me to focus. Moreover, there's that "Je ne sais quoi" which makes it interesting and unique. The only perfume it reminds me of, is Givenchy Organza, but Boss woman is more subtle and wearable on a daily basis. On the other hand I feel sorry that this beauty has fallen into oblivion, but since nobody else seems to wear it these days, I feel like I can call it my own.

Freesia is being described as a “fresh spicy powdery floral note” and this is it for me! Pure freesia in a bottle, with some woody undertone! I can only enjoy it from mid october onwards, for me during the warmer months it has a funny insect spray smell (🤷🏻♀️) but during the winter it smells sublime: pure effortless sophistication. The cool girl that never had to try hard in anything to succeed. But always remained untouched by it all. ...Also one that can’t laugh full heartedly cuz she never had to cry bottomless tears...

After trying a few others, I have to revise my review of this one. At first, this struck me as a typical overly sweet fruity floral, common and in no way unique. I still think it smells like alot of other scents but it is not as syrupy as I first thought. It does have a redeeming maturity after awhile that keeps it from being a tosser. Better than some, not as good as others.

Instantly recognizable but nowhere near as sexy as the original Boss for men. Its very warm and sexy BUT unfortunately no notes in particular jump out. You wont smell it and think 'ohh mango' or anything. It does smell like a generic, synthetic blend.. but not in a bad 'supermarket' way. Nice, worth owning and trying but too common to be a signature scent.

Lovely!Nice, clean and elegant. It's also longlasting. I would like to have smell this perfume within the office. But if you are looking for something sexy then it's wrong address. The most dominant note is freesia to me. Well balanced!I love this! You feel calm if you use it in the fall and you feel cheerful if you use it in the spring!

Wonderfully shower fresh and wet. Smooth and cool. I would think hyacinth is in this, might be the freesia. Its a little 90s but very nice, todays freshies are usually morr aquatic, green or woody and dry. This one is cool shower steam. Fab. I think if you like ck fragrances this one is less woody than those usually might like this

I remember years ago my mother and I got a tester of this fragrance, and I totally fell in love with it! After that, it became my first perfume. Now that I'm in my early twenties, I still love Boss Woman! To me, this fragrance is like an embodiment of woman! Can't wait to get it and wear it at work and university!

I got this recently and I'm TOTALLY in love with it. It's so balanced as a smell, bearable to wear it, soft and mild yet it shows your personality and strongness. Perfect for office wear and it could be sexy and intoxicating to wear at night too.

It's very refreshing thanks to the fruity opening, then freesia and violets make it more feminine. Crisp, light and comfortable. It makes a great office perfume, lasts all day, stays close the skin.

When I had it still emember people saying all the time...you smell so good...even those who I didnt know, in bus, underground. I love it, because this smell is for a girl who knows what she wants.

It's a great fragrance, fresh and sexy at the same time - perfect for night wear. Cons: it doesn't hold on my skin... Suggestion: try it out before u get it!

I was transported back to the freesia laden early 2000’s with this perfume! Crisp, clean and classy, it’s perfect for the daytime.

BOSS WOMAN is a fresh, clean floral-fruity fragrance similar in structure and attitude to Victoria's Secret DREAM ANGELS DESIRE, BODY, and SEXY LITTLE THING. Also somewhat similar to Creed SPRING FLOWER. Also somewhat similar to x, y, z... It's good to know that those seeking a safe office scent that makes people take note, at most, of their having recently showered, need not worry: they are in ample supply! I'm not saying that there are no distinctions to be drawn between the large selection of such floral fruity fragrances on the market. I'm simply saying that all of them occupy a relatively small plot of perfumeland dedicated to this specific genre. But the primary distinctions inhere in the openings, which are evanescent anyway, so comparing them is rather like a Guinness Stout drinker attempting to identify the fine distinctions between various light beers. An exercise in futility, since the beverage of choice lies rather far from all of them! That said: BOSS WOMAN is a high-quality fruity floral with just a smidgeon of soapiness in the drydown and good staying power in the edp. Very nice, if that's the sort of juice you're looking for!

The EdP smells like just about any other generic commercial fragrance that’s out there, with the usual mix of aldehydic-citrus top notes, nondescript floral stuff in the midsection, and some very synthetic-smelling woody notes and musks in the base. It seems strong at first, but the top notes quickly dissipate, leaving behind a surprisingly mild scent for a commercial EdP. At this point there’s a little bit of generic fruitiness along with the slightly aquatic florals and light woody-musky base. Boss Woman is not bad for what it is, but it really has nothing to distinguish it from thousands of other commercial scents except, perhaps, the fact that the sillage is not overpoweringly strong.

After reading everybody's reviews here, I want to test this perfume again, as until some years ago I found it rather boring. I remember it as a plain, soft, refreshing and elegant scent, and recently I've been quite into such scents, trying to discover hidden beauty that is inoffensive - the beauty of floral-fruity-aquatic notes that don't always have to be boring, just require a bit more sniffing to fully appreciate them;)

Such an appropriate office scent. It does project quite a bit though, so don't over-spray! It smells really clean, fresh and professional. Its fruity and floral without being too girly. The mango is definitely the dominant note in this for me, which is a plus. I find springtime perfumes to be the most challenging of all seasons, because I love crisp, tart or spicy scents in winter, warm gourmands in fall and light aquatic scents in summer, all three don't really hit the mark in spring. I think fruity florals like Boss Woman will be my go-to for spring!

I have had this for at least 5+ years and it hasn't gone off or changed colour. This was my first proper grown up perfume that I wore to my first 'real job' in an office so will always remind me of that time in my life when I was just starting out! I would class this as more a fruity/woodsy perfume! I love to wear it to work as it's not too over powering or sweet. Sounds cheesy but this perfume embodies a woman who knows what she wants and how to get it!

A very simple floral-fruity with the most perfect heart. It starts out citrus-sweet with mandarin, orange and mango and it has a faint musky-woody dry down. What I love love love about this scent is its floral heart: passion flower and freesia - an absolutely amazing combination. To me it feels so very feminine, elegant and clean, I simply can't get enough. In my eyes it's an ideal daytime/office fragrance that lasts 6+ hours.

This is a must-have perfume for every woman. Perfect for hot summer days. The smell is very light, uplifling, fresh and clean but still keeps its sweetnes. "Woman" is very well balanced fragrance and as I said, every girl and woman should have it or at least try it. You will not regret and maybe you will fall in love the same way I did. ultra femine, reminds me of a floral femme-fatale. Sure is the reaction i get. FRresh yet intriguing and sensual ; I see a very confident woman wearing this (mabye because i associate it with a friend who has got her stuff together in the most delighful way . Not offensive in any way, a genlle floral that brings a smiet to my face and a zip in my heart xxx

YEK YEK YEK !! like i opened an old rotten botanic glass house , just rotten crappy roots of violet; how ever i expected something sweet and fruity,light brightly touch, i've got a sample of t yesterday and i just hated it too much boyish ,sharp and on my nose i can define aldehyde note somewhere on the dry down that i dislike ..

I can't really understand the hate on this one. I used to wear this fragrance quite a bit in early 2000s. I dont get any toothpaste or cleaning product smells with it. To my nose its a nice fresh clean smell. White t shirt, jeans and your good to go. I think its a safe blind buy to throw on for a casual day or from the gym.

I couldn't get on good terms with this perfume until today - on a freezing and sunny winter morning. The beautiful dominant green mango note - otherwise too loud - today just rocks it! I don't get any cedar from it whatsoever, maybe just a tiny bit of white freesia in the background. It's all about green mango!

A Clean Minimalistic scent that is devoid of flamboyance bright garish colors and Overpowering oriental Incense & spices. it has a soapy scent reminiscent of FCUK and what makes this an odd smell i think it's the Violet Leaf or the Mango but whatever it is i'm not a fan.

recognizable, clean, for a contemporary bright woman who doesn't want to draw attention too much, could be a good choice for a person who works in an office or meets a lot of people at work. surely no one will be offended by this one. not overpowering, very discreet.

Typical floral-fruity aura for the Boss perfumes. I like it even though im not a huge fan of violet smells, here it's surpressed by the fruits and makes it more playful and uplifting. A safe office scent.

I remember this was one of my first good perfumes I had when I was 16 or 17. I loved it and it was my signature perfume for some time. I would love to smell it once again to remember the old times.

I had this perfume offered to me as a gift in my early 20's. I was not that fond of it, but I was receiving compliments about how nice I smelled when I wore it.

Boss Woman is a clean, fresh, young, modern and sexy scent. Perfect for office wear, but perfect for spritzing it on after the evening shower or bath, too!

A very laid-back, not too 'out there' scent. Perfect for the office as it shouldn't offend anyone. I've had it before, but I've since moved on.

Simple and nice perfume for summer. I like to wear it under Frosty Couture Shimmering from Juicy Couture to make it a little sweeter.

Mom gifted me her unused bottle of this perfume and i wore it for about a year before switching. I can confidently say it's not really my style, but i can see why people might like it. It's clean, crisp, fresh scent. I'd agree it's good for a work space/school and has this professional aura around it. Nothing too fancy or memorable but it does okay.

Hmmm, nail polish remover followed by eye makeup remover topped off with an extremely artificial white flower which may be the freesia. Just enough cedar to keep the moths away, and a touching demonstration of a commitment to ecology demonstrated by the jarring proof that there's no actual sandalwood to be found here. This makes me feel young by transporting me back to college Organic Chemistry but I always left those labs with a headache. It's odd that a company that makes such elegant clothes makes such grubby juice. Eau d' tooth paste in a bottle!!! I found Boss Woman very boring. It is fresh, but more minty than I would like it to be (this is probably the white cedar extract). Somehow it smells a bit like toothpaste on me hence the Eau d' tooth paste reference. I was excited for the mango in this, but honestly, there's only a whisper of a light fresh fruit in the beginning, which I can only presume is all the mango I'm going to get. Then, a nondescript, slightly sweet and fresh floral emerges, that has a kind of squeaky clean feel, which I'm guessing is from the freesias. The scent gets progressively cleaner as it dries down. Boss Woman is just nice and safe and simple, and would probably make a good staple for someone, but unfortunately it was giving me a headache so I couldn't really enjoy it much. Otherwise, it's very modern and office appropriate. Lasts for about 3-4 hours; soft sillage.

Ick. The first time I sampled this, I was so sure the tester had gone off. Which evil mastermind at Hugo Boss would bottle headache and set it loose on the general public? The tester must have gone bad. Then I got a sample vial as a swap throw-in, and it looks like the tester wasn't off after all. Medicinal bitter citruses, spoiled rotten at the bottom of the fruit basket. Stale violets distintegrating in the torpid vase water. Some poor landlady trying to mask the decay with nasty acrid chemical room "freshener." Sour and crass. Absolutely never again. Reminded me a little of Chanel's Allure EDT, another at the top of my ick list.

Years ago I was given a sample. Because I really enjoyed it, I decided to buy a bottle. And because my husband wasn't happy with my growing collection, I bought used bottle off ebay. I liked it then and when I found Gillette shaving gel smelling exactly the same I was even more happy to smell this fragrance more often. I must have been buying this gel for too long because now when I smell Boss I can see a can of shaving gel! I find this perfume too boring and I am not that fond of it. I cannot smell any notes listed here, only Gillette gel...ok, there's a peach and fresia, the same I can find in that mentioned shaving product.

I can't believe how Sophie Labbe created this one. For my nostrils the combination of the notes leaves a dark rum effect or a rum coctail. I'm so disappointed! Cause yesterday i found a 2000 half full tester bottle and i thought i would like it. That would be more exotic, more fresh but no.Just rum... The first blast comes really pungent, almost suffocating. On the top...the sillage is moderate and lasts very long...sorry hugo!

I am sorry but this one smells like menthol chewing gum to me. Really unpleasant scent. I am actually surprised there aren ́t any minty notes in it. Maybe it ́s just my nose that is broken. IDK And yes,I agree that the naming on HB fragrances is just frustrating. HELLO! Try to be a little more creative and don ́t confuse us. Same with bottles, especially men side. All look the same and half of them are BOTTLED. Jeesh.

I sampled this scent a couple of days ago being drawn by a stand of reduced perfume in a local supermarket. This had a tester and I instantly sprayed it on my hand/arm/shirt. Very bad idea! Without any disrespect to anyone who likes it.... I only smell washing up liquid. Sort of Fruity, sporty and fresh, but not interesting enough to cost that much. It might have been the tester, but... 100% never again

Unfortunately, this is not nearly as good as Hugo Woman. Mango smells like it's rotting and in some fragrances freesia smells just wrong. It was fresh at first, but the freshness was deceitful, just when someone wants to cover up rotten food with chemicals. If I had it, I wouldn't spray it even in the toilet.
