Hugo Jeans Man

If you're reading this you've already seen the reviews for this fragrance. This is why you don't trust anything or anyone when it comes to scent because it's highly subjective! You have to smell stuff for yourself. For example, despite the unusual hate, this is one of the best-smelling fragrances I own. I remember being at Macy's smelling this and thought omg! i sprayed it on my arm, took another fragrance that I was going to spray on a strip and approached a woman with her mom and daughter. Excuse me ladies, I wanted to get your advice on which...."whatever you have on is the winner!" she quipped. "We smelled you before you came over here" she said. It's such a clean, fresh, soapy smell. I kept sniffing the bottle when I got home for about a week like a drug addict. Now when it comes to performance this may be what dooms this fragrance. Still can't verify yet but I think it does about 3-4 hours, after that it's a Reynolds wrap! smell: 9.5/10 performance: 5/10

About as easy to wear as you can get. Smells like a really nice fabric softener or detergent to me, and I mean that in the absolute best way. Great casual scent for running errands or going to the gym. Doesn’t last very long on skin, maybe a solid 4-5 hours, but at this price point beast mode is not the intention. Feels perfect for a springtime day but you could easily wear this any season. Probably my favorite in the whole Hugo Boss canteen line. Worth a blind buy if you want something very pleasant with a youthful modern vibe that won’t break the bank.

The negative reviews are just people on fragrantica downvoting everything they don't think they'll like. I got a free sample of this at the bay, and honestly when it hit fragrancebuy I will purchase. It is a nice clean laundry fragrance and on my skin it lasted a full 10 hours with not so much projection all the way through. I think that not having too much projection is ok for this profile. I will wear this to the gym and maybe some hot days in school.

Straight up the safest daily fragrance, smells like my laundry detergant cost 100 per wash with extra fresh. Very surpised, very happy. I've never smelled anything like it in a fragrance, you could smash the bottle and pour it over yourself and people would think you've just put on wet clothes out of the washer.

Smelt a tester spray in a fragrance shop, it was a massive blast of cool fresh mint, in a good way. Smells like when someone is chewing spearmint gum. I wasn't able to experience a good dry down, so don't know what the experience would be like after a while.

Decent price. Smells like fresh laundry. I can see the fragrance community not liking this but that doesn't mean this is bad. Very wearable and likable. You don't always have to smell like a barnyard berry for a fragrance to be good.

Got 1.2ml/0.04oz sample with batch code 2293. I find this fragrance likable because of smell of lime opening and peppermint settledown. Projection is low which is bug downside, but its safe office friendly and intimate fragrance.

This is actually good. Fresh and nice smelling all day. Appropriate for office and casual all year round. Performance is solid and the scent is extremely mass pleasing. For the price, this is a real banger.

This smells like a perfume house had a thousand dollars to recreate the scent of Tide detergent and I love it. It does smell like laundry detergent and it rules. Juniper, mint, and grapefruit- quite cozy.

Not sure why this is rated so low. Between 200+ Niche and designer frags, this is easily a top 5 for me. I absolutely love it and my ugly old self gets compliments with it, then you know it's fire.

This deserves 0 hate. IMO this is a gem. Smells just like my cotton clothes when I take them out of the washing machine. Its so pleasant and comforting. Projection and longevity is also decent.

For me, this falls in the clean-clothes-&-dryer-sheets scent class along with YSL's MYSLF and Polo 67 edt. All three are easy to like and worth investigating if you haven't. However, while I enjoy this fragrance (and can't see why it doesn't have a least a 3.8 rating as opposed to a 3.52 at the time of this review), I do prefer both of the aforementioned fragrances in this category. MYSLF and Polo 67 are more expensive, so if you're on a budget and want to smell like clean laundry that was washed with dryer sheets, this one will do the trick. Performance is mediocre, so don't be afraid to spray liberally.

Hugo Jeans is, in my opinion, an excellent fragrance to wear to the office: soft lavender (like fabric softener), citrusy (slightly), clean, very good smell, simple, subtle projection, but present. The longevity is ok (7 hours). You can take on professional projects with Hugo Jeans, it gives confidence. But this fragrance can also be worn in everyday life. The fragrance is highly versatile in terms of seasons.

Very fresh fragrance, smells nothing like the Superman Boss. What it does smell like is freshly cleaned clothes or jeans straight out the laundry. Nice and clean smelling. Starts off super strong but dies down fairly quickly into a skin scent so definitely needs oversprayed Pro tip layer it with Boss Energize and thank me later

This fragrance reminds me of duty free, it's citrusy fresh, but it's kind of mixed, it's hard to put a finger on what exactly smells like. I put it to work every day got some good reviews from people that like this smell. overall it worth the price

A colour: Orange-Red. Someone said it smelled like a clinic or a dentist's office: spot on. Like an airport restroom: also true. Like apples dipped in amber: very, very fitting. Toothpaste: maybe around the edges but a sweet one for kids. Like someone was given hundreds of thousands of dollars to create a fragrance that smells like Tide: wow, they nailed it, and I chuckled! Now, let me tell you straight up, it has that undeclared sweetness of green apple, its synthetic opening isn't as appealing as the heart. It doesn't perform well with sweat or in warm weather, unlike Reversed. Projection: It doesn't even fill a car; it's better on clothes after more than 10 sprays. I think that sweetness needed something deeper than a disinfectant smell, and it would stop being a 2/5. After four hours of sweating, I'm left with a fruity vetiver that's not very fragrant but still interesting. Longevity: Skin scent after the first hour. Gender: Sporty Unisex. Completely free from dyes. Edit 1: Fruity Amber, because this can't be labelled as an aromatic in good conscience. +10 sprays.

Hugo Jeans Man is a fruity, aromatic and woody fragrance. When applied, it shows a fruity aroma, very close to that of some blue berries such as blackberries, and some citrus can also be perceived. This initial phase is attractive and original. As the minutes pass, the fruity aroma becomes slightly acidic and green, like the aroma of apple, and the juniper berries remain. Once it reaches the drying phase the base becomes a little woody, but it never stops being fresh and aromatic. The aroma of the fragrance is ideal for use during the day, on casual outings, with friends, at the movies or in closed places, because the smell is empathetic and friendly as it is not overpowering, it could be a fragrance for daily use. The longevity of the fragrance was 6 to 7 hours, with a regular sillage. The aroma is pleasant, it smells modern, clean and is versatile, but it is more for casual than formal situations. Of course, I don't recommend buying blindly, so if you can, go try it at a perfume store and decide if you like it.

Very fresh and clean fragrance, if you want to smell like laundry this is it. Performance is very weak though, no projection no silage and lasts only very close to the skin for 2-3 hours.

Take a shower, wash your clothes and save some money to buy something better. Synthetic mess, detergent like fragrance. It's pleasant but not something I would put my money on in a million years.

The fragrance was not a blind buy, but only a stupid one. Too synthetic, fresh but at the same time too sweet for hot weather. No compliments obtained. Not recommended.

At first I liked the smell. Then I realized what it's like. If you like the wet smell of freshly washed jeans on you, then buy it! 10/3

Had high hopes with this one,but it’s nothing special just detergent in a bottle.Would not recommend buying it.

Its a fresh and sweet synthetic fragrance, very non-offensive. Also, incredibly dull and boring.

Summary: Millennial aquatic-floral-woody effect with some twists. Might feel "not-so-special" at retail price, but as a blend I think it's very nice and the "coolness" and watery effect is successfully achieved by calone-citrus-iris-mint for the bigger part of the evaporation, no nose-raping woody ambers but instead a mellow fruity-floral-woody unisex drydown.Delivers the marketing promise (coolness, jeans & white tee, anytime/anywhere, laid back). Top: At the very first spray the Calone/Cascalone/Scentenal hit my face with that marine and egg whitey olfactory mass together with a minty freshness. This could be Ultrazur, a fragrance ingredient that carries both eggy and minty facets at the same time, similar to Nishane Ege, where my nose tells me it is used in significant amounts. However for Hugo Jeans, the second your nose adjusts and in few minutes the scent turns into what I can only call as a "potential future summer cheapie" that smells quite clean with undistinguishable citric top notes. I liked the fact that it doesn't abuse you with nuclear woody ambers and I'm a strong believer the last decades amber-wood overdose trend will die out soon and men's fragrances will do a flashback to millennial era, known as floral aquatics. Mid: So here the transformation goes in the direction of iris, though not listed in the notes but you'll notice this carrot seed, musty iris rhizome effect that provides a peculiar coolness which fits the marketing story of this perfume especially when combined with the obvious mint freshness. I surely get a slight non-gourmandy, more-fruity/floral sweetness which I can only assume violet/pear notes (ionones and esters) in combination with muguet/cyclamen type transparent fresh and watery sweet florals (hello 2000s) and also popular in laundry detergents forever. I think I get the vetiver here too but really not distinct. Base: After 20 hours on test strip the scent is more floral-sweet (clean fresh laundry muguet/cyclamen and violets), honeyed orange blossom, even lavender, almost feminine/unisex, right out of 90s-00s, will feel familiar to those perfume heads since 90s. The effect of woods must be there but honestly I can't "pick out" individually the sandalwood or vetiver again but it doesn't mean they don't play an important role in the effect overall.

Tried it today at a Sephora, on paper, not on my skin. It's fresh and fruity, feels very airy and only has a bit of sweetness. A casual day scent to put on and forget quickly. There's nothing wrong with it but I can't say that I plan to buy it or even try it again on my skin. A very forgettable release for me.

Tried this in store today. Not a bad smell by any means, but I really do see what others mean when they say it smells like laundry detergent. If you blasted 20 sprays of this into the washing machine before washing your clothes, nobody would be able to identify that your clothes were washed with cologne.

Another nice one, easy reach kinda. It's a bit like just different but different enough, this one is a bit more powdery, just slightly. I'm sniffing my top the next day, the dar dry and that's left on my top is similar to JD. When spraying it's not the same, thiugh it shares some notes. Female here

Smells like the most common fabric softener or dryer sheets, it is very closely resembling that smell. You know that smell. Not offensive, clean. But in the end, I can barely even call this a cologne. Just not enough substance or complexity in it to be considered a perfume. Maybe a deodorant???

In case of overspraying Hugo Jeans goes similar to Axe deodorant. If you take care, it smells like fresh laundry. Working class fragrance, not bad, not very good. Jeans clothes, post office, hard stuff. P.S. Very pleasant vetiver in the end, very short longevity - "a time before coffee break"

I don’t quite get the scent profile listed here - I like this fragrance but I get Powdery, Sweet and Fresh before anything woodsy or spicy Very clean uncomplicated fragrance, I do enjoy it in the summer as a work friendly scent

Smells clean and pleasant, I tried a sample, I have to say I enjoyed it. There’s nothing to hate about it, is it anything really unique and special? No, but it’s quite nice to smell.

A very nice fragance for young men. Safe blind buy and decent longevity. You can't go wrong with this one, trust me. Dry down is sweeter than I tought but still pleasant.
