Hugo Woman Eau de Parfum

Far from generic or ordinary, this doesn't smell anything like any other releases of the 2010's either which is refreshing, I've not smelt the original Hugo Woman with the red band on the cap so I cannot comment on the similarities/differences. Hugo Woman sits in a few scent categories for me; young/sporty, boss-like and fresh. It does this so seamlessly and perfectly that its quite a versatile, ageless scent, anyone from their teens upwards can easily pull this off, its easy to wear casually, to the office, but not so casual that you couldn't wear it to a meeting or any important events. The scent itself smells fruity but not in the typical juvinile way, boysenberry adds tart juiciness and the madarin and tea notes give some bright freshness and help to keep this airy and steer the boysenberry away from being thick and jammy, jasmine gives a light floral edge and the grass and cedar notes give it some full body during the dry down and I agree with the discription about the new Hugo Woman having an uncovenvtional boyish twist, I think the cedar and grass as well as the tea add a slightly masculine freshness to this. I cant smell any plum, iris or sandalwood however. Longevity is excellent lasting 7 hours from 3 sprays and the silage is moderate. I'm not too sure weather this suits my style or personality these days however, but I really do love and appriciate how it smells and that its something genuinely different, I also see this is often on offer for quite reasonable prices, but I am concerned that Hugo Boss may possibly be discontinuing this one and I really hope they dont, its a refreshing take on the typical fruity floral. How is it that decades can give off a scent? For my prime time 90’s babies out there...this shared the stage in the era of Tommy Girl, Perry Ellis 360, Hugo Red, Gucci Rush, Kenneth Cole reaction... Not to sound redundant with the contributions below, but as much as I love this, it’s unremarkable I’m sure to most. This was in rotation when I had a much smaller collection in high school. I purchased another bottle recently for the nostalgia. Nondescript fresh fruits, and a short lived burst of green at first blast. The fruits gradually become more saccharine- but the ripeness remains. I smell the cedar at the base which gives this a little more weight. Lasts suprisingly well for this house (usually my chemistry doesn’t get great performance from Hugo)

I just tested this and it's quite nice , very fruity ,very sweet and quite yummy ! A young fragrance in my opinion and very happy! I love plums and I adore iris and ceder as well as amber and sandalwood. ,,,and that's maybe why it speaks to me. For its price a nice scent that I think will do rather well. It's very sparky fruity in its opening. A little addictive almost like a burst of some summer punch by the poolside. Then it becomes more warm and sweet when it dries down less sparkly and less tart more rounded. I like it , I think really young girls will go crazy over it. I like it for days when I just want to smell like FUN! ;) The orig was more aquatic and fresh which I didn't really like as much.

Tried this the other day and i think its absolutely fantastic. Much more different than the original, fresh edt, which when i recall was a little unisex on me. This is fruitier and softer, and quite long lasting, although sillage stays close to the skin. I tried it during the week and got a sample, i will definitely be getting this, soon hopefully. IMO i actually feel this is rather unique, there is something very special about it if i compare it to a few other fruity greens, which i think could perhaps be due to the grass and tea notes. I'd say, this fragrance would be ideal for a night club, island beach holiday, and one i would wear during the day all year round. Love love love love love it.

This is my Christmas time at my parents house, after morning-shower chill freshie perfume :) it puts me into a festive, christmassy mood, without being spicy or sweet or heavy. It also smells a little bit like walking into a Douglas I guess. Nothing too special, but pretty and nostalgic :) The opening it so fresh and delicate, then it goes a bit sweeter, but also lotiony and creamy. Lasts about 3-4 hours on my skin max.

Take the original EDT and make it tart at the beginning with boysenberry and mandarin orange and you get this 😃 In fact, it reminds me of a more tart Valentino Donna Born in Roma minus the pink pepper and that odd baby wipe-like accord it has near the end. I heard that this was discontinued, but it’s worth a try if you like tart fruity scents and you happen to find it at a TJ Maxx or Marshall’s.

Hugo Boss got it right with this one. Perky, bright and uplifting, almost like a 'coming of age' perfume, when you are kind of transitioning from bubble-gum perfumes to slightly adult ones. Great for summer and spring, in fact all seasons, it has great longevity and sillage. Though I don't really use it much anymore, a whiff now and then always makes me happy!

Mmm, scent of a maturing young woman! This is fun, yet restrained enough to not go crazy with the fruity floral. It makes me feel confident and sweet and is a great gift for a young woman in her early twenties. Good for work or for drinks with friends, love it, could be a signature.

I bought this one because of nostalgic reasons since it Reminds me of the 90s version, as I remember there's a shared DNA but I don't remember how does that smell exactly! This one is grassy, sour and there's something in the drydown that makes me love it, I think it's elegant!

This perfume is like a piece of paradise , i smell the freshness of oceans, the power of flowers , free spirit , its full of memories for me...i am in love with this one

I think of this perfume as one of my tangy florals. The boysenberry, which is dominant, gives a syrupy quality to the perfume but I get lots of Jasmine for sure. A touch of powder from the iris too. Black tea? Yes! And I suspect that's what gives it a rather unusual aroma overall, but it's certainly sandalwood in the dry down and although not listed, I get some vanilla in the base of this one and I almost sense something salty here. Sounds odd but on my skin there is a light salty touch... like a spritz of sea spray. I prefer Woman edp in warmer weather. It's not a delicate scent but it just seems to bloom in spring or early / late summer. The Extreme version has the bosenberry amped right up and the vanillic dry down toned down, so it's a bit sharper and fresher. It isn't a strong perfume but I find that it works really nicely in cold weather for some reason! These both feel like they've got stronger since I first got them. they also both smell similar to Lacoste touch of Pink, but they're not as sickly as that one and are both somehow a bit more grown up! This is a really easy, everyday, office appropriate sort of perfume and it's so affordable - Floral Street brought out Electric Rhubarb and it smells very similar to this, but it costs WAY more!

I tested this today because it was elusive, nobody had a tester or they had it empty. Anyway, I sprayed it twice on my wrist and at first was like "woah, this is strong!" the boyfriend was standing like a meter away from me and I was kinda knealing (cause the bottle was at the bottom of a counter) when I sprayed it and he immediatly could smell it. It smelled a lot of alcohol. After a few minutes it settled and, it might be me, but the 3 fragrances by Hugo I have tried, smell kinda masculine in a way. Maybe the men and woman fragrances share a lot of notes? or maybe is one note on both? I'm not sure and again, it might only be me. It is okay, it does not bother me. At first it is citrucy and very fresh and clean. Then it fades to something more powdery and floral, but green is not something that comes to mind with this. It does last a while, but very close to the skin. I would not buy it because of that. But it is a nice scent.

Hugo Woman EDP opens a tad like Quizas, Quizas, Quizas Pasion (by Loewe). The opening is a bright, slightly tart berry with nothing syrupy nor cloying about it. I love green notes and get only a hint of them here. No plum comes through for me, but I do pick up subtle florals. The woods are very well blended and not heavy-hitters. The catch for me is that it doesn't really go anywhere from there. It dries down quickly and then seems to dissipate rapidly. I may be one of those whose skin devours this fragrance. It's innocuous and pretty, but not particularly multi-faceted to me. That said, Hugo Woman EDP is beautiful when blended with Loewe's Quizas, Quizas, Quizas Pasion. It's also nice blended with Chanel Chance and Coco Mademoiselle, and other fragrances. Its berry top notes make for lovely alchemy.

This is sticky sweet and dry pixie sticks rolled into one! It’s youthful and playful. It’s a fun fragrance, something I’d personally wear in spring and summer during the day. I don’t typical care for a sweet fragrance but this one doesn’t bother me. It has an ever so slight hairspray smell which is a scent profile that I definitely do not like either. However, it’s tolerable in this for me. It’s not my typical style but I like it and can see how other people would like it! I’ll have to revisit this come spring, but I’ll probably pass mine on. I’m getting better at letting go of scents I may like but know I’m not going to reach for and letting someone else enjoy them!

This is so pretty. I got Woman Extreme first, and loved it so much I needed to try this one. It ́s very similar to be honest, just luckily different enough to justify both. Opening feel similar, but I do get the mandarine here, which I enjoy, and the dry down is more woody but also lighter or airier than the extreme, but the tea is less distict here, but I do get it. This version is the spring one for me, probably too heavy for summer. The Extreme is the autumn version for me, more heavy in both opening and dry down, and the gorgeous osmanthus in the dry down, which feels more suiting for autumn to me. Great tea scents overall.

I agree with a previous reviewer that this smells similar to CH 212, which is one of my favourite perfumes. However, to my nose Hugo Woman is more on the fruity side whereas 212 is more floral. Personally I prefer 212 but Hugo Woman is very nice. Can't comment on the lasting power or sillage unfortunately as I only tested it on a card. I can still remember the original version from the 1990s, which I liked, but think I actually prefer this new one. This version is younger and more modern.

I think this is a very versatile fragrance. It’s light, uplifting, fruity and floral. It’s well blended and nothing stands out loudly or annoyingly. It has good longevity and it’s surprisingly strong considering how light the notes feel. It’s office appropriate but still pretty enough to wear on the weekend for brunch with family or a girly catch up. It’s very pleasant. Nice for spring and summer or office environment.

Woman walks the line between fruity and green/woody quite well. Good for causal wear on spring and summer days. When I sniff where I've applied it I think it's okay, nice everyday sort of thing. Kind of youthful and sporty. But here and there I get some of the scent wafting up while I'm driving or doing something and I think wow, that's nice. It sneaks up on you and charms you.

It surely holds the same DNA as the 1990's release - especially in the head and heart notes - but unfortunately it's much swerter and it lacks the fresh/green apple and lotis note. So YES if you want to bring back the memories but NO if you are expecting exactly the same fresh 90's sensation - it's a modern, sweet release.

Hugo woman vs extreme.. A couple hour in the extreme is the clean woody seminwarm floral, and the edp woman is woody fruity clean.. Woman is fruity green clean Extreme is quieter I think they're both kinda laundry smells ish.. clean and easy. Neither ground break. Both are nice overall

Nice, but too ordinary for my taste. Green and citrusy, a little sweet, a little spicy. Unfortunately I don't know how boysenberry smells. Quite fresh and natural, I would say neutral and modest. I guess I wouldn't be too excited about it. Nice, and that's it.

This is a pleasant and fresh scent. Fruity but not too much.

A fresh-fruity scent, this is a nice one for spring and summer days. It evokes a thought of sitting on the deck with some friends, drinking iced tea and having a laugh while a nice breeze blows. It's nothing earth-shattering, but it's a nice easy wear. Without looking at the notes, I smell a lot of grass and iris, with a light fruity touch (I can't pinpoint the exact fruit). Looking at the notes, I think it's plum I smell, and realise I also smell tea and (an approximation of) sandalwood. I received a rollerball decant of this from a friend, and I don't know if I applied too much, but the sillage is enormous!! Lasts for about four hours.

this doesn't match the notes at all, but first I smelled pineapple & vanilla and then I got a lot of pepper. I might just not know what things smell like though and have mislabeled the smells in my mind.

They have discontinued the 1997 version and re released, re imaged and re formulated it and came up with this. Needless to say I much prefer the previous version. This is a little citrusy, a little fruity and a little woody. Nothing special at all. I saddens me that all the superior 1990s fragrances are disappearing so we cannot smell them and remember the times we were young and carefree.

This perfume has a very prominent berry note, the boysenberry. That's pretty much the dominant note and what you will smell in the air when you have this on. It smells sort of like a tart blackberry. It's not bad, but it doesn't match my personality. This is also slightly synthetic, but most fruity perfumes are. If you generally like fragrances with berry notes, then give this one a try!

Totally synthetic smell. Not bad, but too artificial. Too generic. Very loud in a " I am wearing perfume!!!" way. Like in my childhood in Hungary there weren't a wide choice of fragrances and if you had the possibility ,you grabed what you could. And doused yourself in it. "Hey, it's a perfume, I have on !!!!"No matter your personality, this synthetic, youthfull water will wear you!

I have it. Too citrusy for me, and having a tad chemical note which reminds me of D&G's Light Blue, and it hits my liver. For swap. PM me.

I don’t like this smell on my skin. Bought it years ago... I use it as an air freshener. Don’t recommend at all. Boring fruity scent.

i find this a childish perfume and not for mature women it's too mainstream smells cheap i really dislike it

I get a really strong plasticky smell from this that I can't shake off. There's something in it which kind of smells nice, quite fruity and I can detect the amber as well. The plastic just overpowers it for me so I can't enjoy it.

Mandarin, jasmin, amber and sandalwood core in this is recognizable from other Hugo Boss scents - the same type of slightly floral, slightly fruity, soft, rounded woody mix. It is exactly what I expect from Hugo Boss, so no surprises (and that is boring). Some strong plum and mellow iris (definitely not an iris root) makes this scent kind of dated, I guess. There was this short lived trend of fruity or juicy scents with powdery crust (if it makes any sense), when taking a deep breath of the scent it was more than it seemed to be. For the release year it seems as a cheap trick, as it was not 2007 anymore (that's what I mean with dated). Overall tangy, yet sweet, juicy, woody fruit scent with powdery notes making it spicier and sharper and more present. Nice, but I'm underimpressed. Hugo Woman is as mundane as it gets. More suited for active jobs, casual, routine day in the office, running errands etc. Suitable for transitional weather to and from summer. It has slightly more than a soft sillage, however on skin it stays rather potent for some three to four hours, then as a soft trace for one more.

This is not ordinary in my opinion. At first sniff or from the bottle it smells like a ho hum fruity floral but it is so much more. I was recommended this on a recommendation thread I started a while ago. I was looking for a girly scent w/something special leaning on a masculine side. I found this finally at Burlington last week. I had always wondered about it anyway. What makes this stand out from other fruity florals are the dark notes, the black tea, the boysenberry and the sandalwood. It makes this stand out. It just smells yummy especially the dry down. For me this is more of a casual evening or early evening scent. It's along the lines of other scents like moschino culture, alaia edp, Abercrombie & Fitch first instinct blue. A fruity with cedar and creamy notes along with some freshness, from the grass note. The Tea or whatever the sweeter note is, is so refreshing. This is a gem for the right person. Now I'm wondering about the extreme version. Very affordable also.

tested this already. fell in love with one initial spray on the paper, so I decided to give it a try on my wrist. still smelt very lovely, and I was kinda hooked to buy it - the SA insisted, btw. saying it's going to last all day. I said no, and continued shopping after telling him I was going to see if the fragrance lasted because my skin loves to eat everything on it. I didn't regret leaving the counter with empty hands, though at first I did. after 3 hours it smelt EXACTLY like CH 212 woman on my skin. soft, powdery white floral scent with weaker projection and poorer longevity. I don't know if it really smells like 212, or it's just my skin and body chemistry.. indeed it smells lovely, but very generic. nothing too special. i prefer the hated-by-brother-and-BF CH 212 tho.

My first real perfume (not this one, the older version, the one from 1997). It reminds me of my youth when I was carefree and happy about everything. I know it is not a wow kind of perfume but I love it. I love the sensation it brings when I smell it, like I am a teen again like I could fly and touch the sky. Smell has a huge impact on our memories, so this perfume brings back my dear memories and the happiness of the young spirit. It is a common perfume with fruits and flowers, nothing ravishing but pretty. In the summer I wear it a lot because summer is a happy season and I need a happy mood. No matter how many perfumes I owned or smelled, this one will always stay close to me. It has a special place in my heart like the first kiss. You can try it as a scent for summer.

This is o so nice. It's really nice actually. More than I expected it to be. It's fresh, fruity, floral, soapy, clean, classy, sporty. All at the same time, in one package. Suitable for men, and it's just right for women. It's like Elizabeth Arden 5th Avenue, but this one is much more softer. It's inoffensive and light, yet it's potent and pleasant enough to be worn to a night out party, work or just hang out at the mall. I can't get the black tea and grass notes though, which is too bad, but If you want to blind buy and are looking for something safe this is one that you must try.

I love this fragrance. When I first tried it on I was hoping I’d get a few hours wear on my skin it lasted about 2 and after 5 hours on my clothing I could stil smell it. It’s sweet fruity fresh and for some reason reminds me of fairy floss. I don’t get much of the masculine in it as it’s very feminine on me but then again I can’t deal with very sweet fragrances. I do feel like Hugo fragrances are underrated because to me things like si and ysl Mon Paris that I paid much more for last a lot less then any of my Hugo and are way more sweeter which I don’t like.

I agree with Germany that Boss Woman is real pleasant, it smells very nice, and although the vibe is fresh, fruity, and youthful, it is also more interesting than most fruity florals out there...the drydown becomes more quiet, and warmer...it has a little something that makes you want to wear it!! It is young but I feel it could be worn easily by lots, like it is to my nose more interesting than Versace Bright Crystal Absolu, although the two are similar, the Boss adds a little touch of a nicely constructed perfume..

I recently recieved this in a sampler pack, the ones that you have a certificate to redeem the full size bottle of whichever fragrance you prefer. So while I really enjoy this scent, it's a huge waste of money. To buy a 50ml bottle where I am located is 90 dollars!!!! Yes 90 dollars, tell me that's not outrageous! The longevity on this is beyond poor, for me it's actually all but home immediately after spraying. It's too bad because it is a beautiful scent!

Love the initial (first 10 minutes) smell— citrus/orange and crisp, airy, green smells. It dries down into a light powdery-fresh smell. It doesn’t last long on me, maybe 3 hours. It is a generic smell; one you probably will not get complimented on because it’s just not unique. I can imagine it is a good perfume for a business woman at the office. Good, but nothing special.

Add something old like childhood memory on fancy perfume (in 1997 Hugo Boss was something unbeatable fancy), something new and a little bit of Hugo's easy to wear fragrance, and you'll get this. I must admit that i love the fact that it still smells like then, but they added more longevity. For me it is a scent for young business woman with attitude.

Its very common, generic smell, mix of at least 3 other scents, very floral that stand out as the sillage and strength is impressive, has a very sweet almost edible base and is a bit berryish and slightly woody. Pleasant to most men, but nobody's gonna ask you which perfume u're wearing, there's nothing great or unique about it. Meh.

I have yet to sample this. I remember the 1997 version and I wonder how this compares. If it's anything like the original, then it may be nice, but if it's anything like how I've evolved as a person since 1997, then I am sure it's nothing like the original,LOL. It's great to reminisce, but evolving is the truth to everlasting life!

Already smelled it (quickly) at the airport. As far as I can remember it does smell like the 1997 version of this fragrance. I've gone through a whole bottle of that one at the time. I think this one is a bit fresher and less fruity sweet than the old version. But I probably have to wear it on skin to really be sure.

I really dislike this. I used the original version and to me this smells nothing like this. To me it's headache inducing and it's not fresh at all. If you are looking for a substitute of the original version this is not the solution. Try to get the old one on ebay or something similar. The 90s version is way better.

I like this new version, but I like the 90's one better. I am really getting a completely different perfume, with much harsher notes. I guess it's the boysenberry. The original on ME, was so sweet. My take is a little of the same DNA, but the sharp boysenberry took over that soft wonderful peach.

Picked this one off a drug store. I find this a huge issue that the fragrance as is, smells amazing but fails to deliver on my skin! It is a lovely fragrance and I particularly love the rare whiff of tea that i get off of this. I would recommend it for sure!
