Hugo Woman

Okay, here I come again! But, this time I won't talk about my nostalgic feelings, I'll talk about this precious jewel as it is. At first spray it comes out very fruity - melon. But, ever since the first time I smelled it (almost 20 years ago), what comes to my mind is watermelon instead of melon. I actually don't smell any apple. Right after the "watermelon" come the floral notes. A clean and refreshing floral that makes me feel calm and relaxed. But, never be mistaken by it's freshness! It's not a light scent. It's strong, extremely long lasting and with great projection. Don't worry, it's not a sickening strong, just a powerful fresh, if that exists! lol Anyway, it's gonna make you want to keep smelling it all the time. After 12 hours (yes! it lasts that much or even more on my skin, under my hair...) there's still that bit of watermelon, but calmed down and some light floral scent that reminds me of jasmine. Also some clean scent that I can't quite describe. It's not woody at all on me and to my nose, there's no vanilla. Just fruits and flowers!

Finally. I got myself another bottle of this precious jewel after years of search. The new version doesn't suit my taste at all. It's so different from this original one. I love this one with the red stripe at the side. I was lucky enough to get a bottle from 2013, so if it has been reformulated after that, I can't tell. My 2013 bottle smells exactly the same as the one I had in 2000. It immediately took me back to my 17 years old. Carefree and young me! Never ever in my life I'm going to give away this bottle like I did with my last one just because I thought I had too many perfumes at that time. I'm keeping this for the next 20 years (or more!) since I can't make myself to wear it abundantly in fear of its end, although my bottle is filled to the top. I'll just wear it whenever I miss the old days or want to feel rejuvenated. P.S. I don't know about other countries, but in Brazil it's really hard to find it.

I guess I'm the minority here... but I love this fragrance! I remember it was launched in 1997 when I was 14 years old (now you know my age). It has since been discontinued, but I was fortunate enough to find some extra bottles still on the shelves at a local drugstore, so it should last me a looooong time! It's obviously a very fun, girly scent, which is probably why it appealed to me so much at the age of 14. However years later, I still see the appeal... it's perfect for casual days, those days when you just want to smell nice and super feminine. It may have lost some of its popularity, but that's not a problem, it means that on days when I wear it, I won't smell like 99% of the population :) Cheers!

This is the most special perfume for me. First time I smelled it in the 90's magazine strip and fell in love with it but I knew that I could not afford it as it was very expensive for me when it first came out and was all the rage. Back than my bf now husband gifted me a full set with gel and perfume box from macy's. I still have leftovers from the 90's and it's smells just as it was but the bottle from 2010 went a little off. Sometimes the fruit smells like pear to me instead of apple but only for a first 5 min. I can see chanel 5 smelling old but this, my mind doesn't wrap around smelling old it's so good.

The initial burst of this is quite alcohol-y and fresh, but I am absolutely in love with the way this perfume develops an hour or so into wearing it. It's a very casual, feminine and comforting scent. Stays close to the skin and isn't sharp or aggressive. All the notes blend in well together and don't compete. I have been using this perfume on and off for 10 yrs, and my favourite thing to do is to spray a light mist on a top I will wear the next day. The scent lingers delicately for 1-2 days. Sadly, the newer Hugo Boss Woman doesn't compare to this original version.

This perfume has always been on my shelf since 2000s, and after taking a break from it I just ordered a new bottle with a new design and what a disappointment it is!! Personally, i think it barely smells like the original: the alcohol notes are obnoxiously loud and the rest of that wonderful smell is barely there. It literally feels like if someone added more alcohol into the bottle, watered it down and called it a redesign. I am so upset, I cant even describe - it was the smell of my youth and now I feel like I was robbed of it.

As I’ve mentioned before, this is one of my all-time favorites. While it didn’t turn many heads, it was a great casual scent for me during high school, through college, and during my entry into the working world. This would be a great choice for jobs where strong perfumes are discouraged! I used the last of this up not too long after I started at my old job and I miss its fresh clean fruitiness. I now have the EDP which is similar but with stronger fruity notes.

I have this perfume in 2007, I wore it every day for work, casual, dinner, party and shopping, I get so many compliments,and I'm glad to say this perfume is one of my favorite perfume from Boss line after Boss Femme, super amazing with excellent sillage and excellent longevity. I hope i could find 125ml the biggest bottle, but not sure if was discontinue for the biggest size. And for sure, it is reformulation now on days.

This had a chokehold on my teenage years I went through 5 bottles of this back in the late 90s/early 00s Then, I got this as a gift for my 30th bday and it was never the same. It felt like it had outlived it's best days. Summers were different back then and so were we. Almost like we're not cool enough to keep wearing this 20 years later. XD I still love it though. It's exactly my cup of tea

I loved this one! To Nancinha who posted above, I was told two years ago that this was discontinued and replaced by Boss Woman. To VogueBoy - if you would please repost what retailers in Europe might be carrying it that would be GREAT! To me it would be worth a shipping fee to try it again. I'm currently wearing Laila, which I LOVE, but switching among a few favorites can be nice.

I was skeptical about this but tried it anyway, I am very pleasantly surprised! It is light but full of flavour. Fruity floral but not at all samey like so many perfumes can be. This is something different. Longevity isn't great, but it would be ideal for work, and occasions where you don't want to draw too much attention, but still want to smell fresh and stylish.

This perfume is one of the best women's perfumes I have ever smelled. This is very suitable for a young lady who has not married. And looking for love. Actually this reminds me of true and innocent love. It smells like frangipani. Soft and delicate. It gives so many emotions. It is a beautiful fragrance. Perfect for dates. It is very unique. Not strong.

I wore this perfume as a young teenager and have recently started wearing it again. I love the fruity top notes and the vanilla notes that come through in the drydown keep the scent balanced. It's a good fragrance for work/school and in warmer weather.

A great fragrance for the office. I am in the military and this is a very clean, non-offensive scent to wear. Doesn't smell like I doused myself all over. Very versatile too if you want to wear this in the evening with more sprays.

I don't know why it has such a low rating. This is my to-go scent and to work. People around me love it! It's one of the refreshing scents that I grab for and prefer this way better than Ralph Lauren's Ralph.

I love this. It smells like the ocean (maybe a little bit spicy) but I get little, if any fruity notes.

This is a pretty clean and decent frag. Been wearing it several times but I'm not sure whether to like it or not. 1st attempt -- put couple of spritz on my arm. At the beginning, the aquatic & woodsy notes are dominant which i find ordinary. After 30 mins... the middle notes reminded me of a unisex perfume from CK line which made me think, must have purchased a men's cologne. After an hour, there's this wonderful whiff which I couldn't resist sniffing -- the floral notes turn to be more prominent, i could detect little hint of amber and it's really invigorating... HEAVENLY!! This magnificent drydown lasted up to 3 hours on me which made me hooked and wish it stays that way! Apparently, it sits very close to the skin and lasted for only abt 4 hrs on me. And being an enthusiast, for the 2nd time -- i put on single spritz on my arms, then a couple more on my clothes.. And guess I'm surprised that it didn't turn to have the same wonderful effect as compared with application on my skin alone. I was actually in the office and turned to be so uncomfy that entire day smelling a men's perfume on me it's cloying HOWEVER people around me kept asking, "Where is that wonderful smell coming from?" And it actually stayed on my coat for more than 24hrs, which isn't bad. Now everytime i wear it, I need to make up my mind -- whose nose should I satisfy? :)

It's more jasmine than fruits on me, a basic inoffensive scent that's easy to wear without being too generic. I haven't been wearing this in years but I wanted a basic inoffensive scent to take with me to a congress I took part in. So I just found the bottle I owned and started wearing it a few days prior to my trip. I got a compliment from my then boyfriend the first day I tried this on. He said this was nicer than my go to perfume and asked what this was (but I'll just dismiss his compliments as he also thought my jo malone star magnolia smelt like cheap cologne) Even though it's not long lasting I was carrying the small bottle with me to help me keep refreshed and energised throughout the day. I received several compliments and three more men asked what I was wearing. In the end of this three weeks experience when I'm finally about the finish the bottle I've had around for so long; I can confidently say this is a nice easy-to-wear fragrance, possibly a very good office scent. I don't think it's something special and I won't be in a hurry to replace the bottle once I'm out of it. I can see myself getting bored easily. BUT several people around me, coming from different parts of the world thought it was great. So I might get another one eventually, who knows.

Unlike most reviews i've read bellow, I acctually feel the fruity side of this perfume. I can definatelly smell the apple in top and also the middle notes, and i love that. Then after two hours I can smell the gorgeous vanilla and sandalwood, they are not to strong, but just in the right amount. I would say this perfume is recomended to younger women(under 30).It's a fresh fruty-flowery fragrance, great for the office and also for a walk in a sunny day.It smells better in autumn/winter. It does last for more than 5 hours , but I recomend applying a bit more, because this perfume stays very close to skin. I've first smelled it when I was in highschool, a coleague of mine had it. First I didn't knew what it was, I just knew that she smelled great all the time. Then when I found what it was , I became interested in all Hugo Boss perfumes. I think they are quite decent, not extraordinary, but fit for everyday use. I'm very sorry for any mistakes that I've made...my english is not that good:).

Some say it's easy forgettable but this is actually very special to me, I had roll-on version of this but didn't know the name and I couldn't forget the scent. When I finally found it I couldn't stop smelling it and always wore it before sleep and sprayed my clothes with it..so I do like it a lot because it brings back memories. The scent is fresh and floral, perfect for spring and summer..I've had mine for a couple of years now (I never manage to use up a bottle) and all of the sudden I feel the fruits in it, don't know if the scent has changed or if it's my perception of it, but I like it a lot! It's a clean and inoffensive scent, good if you want something subtle for daily use. I don't use it on myself anymore but like spraying my clothes with it, and sometimes I just feel I need to smell it so I do like to have a bottle of this in my wardrobe.

The girl next door in a bottle!!! I like Hugo Woman, but wish they had an EDP version. I find this EDT to light. After a few wears I realized that I probably need to apply this perfume with a heavy hand in the cooler months or save it for summer. How people perceive a fragrance is all too often influenced by its packaging. The image becomes the main ingredient of the perfume. Some people do not smell the fragrance, they smell the bottle. This is the case with Hugo Woman. The fragrance comes in the minimalistic, crude, uninspiring bottle of the shape of a hand-grenade, with no hint of color. And that is enough to block or even twist one's perception and imagination. In fact the perfume is very subtle, cozy, soft and feminine once it settles down on the skin. There is NOTHING masculine about it. It is quietly floral and a little bit powdery. It is fruity just enough to be friendly but not overly sweet. It is genteel, without distinct notes (which can make a fragrance intriguing for some people but irritating for others). Very universal.

This is a very crisp, soft, fresh fragrance that smells very womanly. I bought this on impulse because Hugo Boss is my favorite perfume brand and plus it was on sale. (I hadn't tested it before.) I'm a big fan of strong fruity/floral fragrances so this doesn't make it into my top favorites... but then again, I wasn't crazy about Pure Purple at first but now it's one of my absolute favorites. It might be one I grow into. It has a light fruity character at first (mmmmm melon!) but the woody, resin base is what I smell more strongly than anything. It is very pleasant hours after applying and instantly lifted your spirits when you catch a whiff. Perfect for a casual outing or someone who doesn't like to overwhelm themselves with a powerful scent.

Ahh, this perfume has a special place in my heart :) This was my first perfume ever, I was seven or eight-year old, and my mom got a mini and kept it in her purse. I was constantly sniffing the cute little round bottle, and she of course gave me to use it. I can still remember the smell clearly even though I haven't smelled it in years. Amazing how our senses are powerful and especially their correlation to memories. I would like to have a 30ml bottle of this someday even though I love completely different type of scents now, just so it could throw me back to my childhood from time to time. I remember it being very fresh and fruity, all in all nice and clean scent. Nothing special I suppose, but it is special to me :)

Ah! My scent back in high-school together with Miracle by Lancôme. Very clean, crips and green perfume. Perfect for summer and warm days. Moderate sillage and longevity, perfect for young girls or even women young in their minds. I know I still feel like I am 20. Casual fragrance. I would like to re-smell it and probably wear for when I stay at home and chill in a hammock during the summer but...I am scared. I don't want to be disappointed. I read somewhere that it was reformulated. I prefer to remember the good times. This definitely wasn't a perfume to be remembered by but it was still something nice to wear at school.

Simple, inoffensive scent which is suitable for work or school. I also think it could easily be sporty. If I had one sporty fragrance this could be it. Sadly, I can only afford some of them, so I need to choose my signature scents firstly. It's fresh, aquatic and clean. It could be serious and sophisticated and feminine at the same time. Mostly I can sense clean, fresh notes like apple, melon, and some fresh flowers. Also, some peach. It's not on my top favorites, but it's very likable and pleasant.

A very nice modern young office fragrance! The first 15 minutes manage to lift my spirits everytime. I get melon, then apple, a quick swift of papaya, black currant and finally cyclamen. It's refreshing, fruity-floral but not overwhelmingly sweet, it feels natural and not at all like a synthetic fruit bomb. Later it gets more floral-woody until in the end I get woody-vanilla with a fresh undertone. It's a simple yet recognizable happy scent that lasts 5+ hours on me.

WONDERFUL! Fresh, invigorating, green, intriguing! A perfume that does not tire and that transports you to more places: From the tropics to the Nordic forests! Beautiful fruit and flower arrangements. Melon and Peach, Apple, currant and aquatic hyacinth. Then a beautiful epic of wood begins! For women who let themselves be carried away by imagination. P.s. I use to own one of these back in the late 90's and that was in the tester format and I must say that it wasn't a real bad smelling scent. In fact, I really really liked it. Its Fresh with a hint of floral. Just enough to make you smell fresh even on a humid hot day.

It starts very nicely, like good, fresh cologne. However, when it develops middle notes, becomes very floral and unfortunately, sultry. What a pity! It would be a lot better if this scent was like its top notes, all the time. Being feminine does not mean flowery!

It's more floral smell than fruity. It's clean, young and mild. First time I smell this perfume I felt like I smell 5th Avenue that's why I bought it.It's pretty nice on my skin no offend to anyone kinda polite and feminine.I think this can be all year perfume.

Great for hot humid weather !!! Starts off fruity, with peach and orange blossom peaking through. Then it turns into a floral bouquet, with a dry down being a perfect blend of aromas. Love this a lot and so do many of my friends !!!

This was a great everyday scent that I used to enjoy in its day. Back when CK One ruled the scene and everybody was following suit. I liked it. It was good. I wouldn’t buy it today, but I have good memories of this one.

This is nothing fruity on my skin just outstanding jasmin and other flowers,freshy and feminine. long time perfume but I still like it,in my opinion this scent is rare because now a day have only sweet candy scent.

Hugo Woman is a modern scent. Perfect for young woman or me being in the office. I really like it. It smells fruity but fresh and definitely crisp and clean. It is not expensive and I will keep buying it.

One of my faves in my late teens early 20's. I still have it. Repurchased a second one at some point years ago and it's still stored in my closet.

This is simply a wierd scent. But I like it. I got it 10 years ago and when I occasionally use it nowdays I always think of me as a young teen...

To me, the top notes are fruity. Slightly later, it's floral, a little powdery. That lasts for several hours then it becomes fruity again.

It's a good fragrance, very casual not to fruity on me though. It's more floral and a little bitter to me but overall a good nice scent.

Its nice, but a very safe scent, I have just put it on to try and it just makes me feel indifferent to it.
