Hugo XX

I had this fragrance in my early 20-ies and I adored it. My friend even borrowed it for her wedding day scent, that's how good it was 🥰🥰🥰 It's so soft, so delicate, yet long lasting and great silage. Finally, I decided to purchase this forgotten gem in my late 30-ies. I don't know why it took me so long to do so. It's amazing.Better than I remember. So many memories with it.I would absolutely buy couple of more bottles just to have, as I know I will be finishing my bottle soon. My favourite scent from Hugo Boss for sure. Suitable for any occasion, any season. Very inoffensive👌 10/10 ❤️❤️❤️

Thought it had disappeared on me a few hours after testing yesterday. Oddly again like with Chloe, its the middle notes that stay with me at the drydown, though that's a good thing for me! It's as if the bottom notes disappeared and resurrected as the florals, then lasted on me till next morning! Pleasant scent -- warm and fresh at the same time. First time testing a Hugo Boss scent and I must say, am not disappointed!

A great perfume for spring and summer. I got this as a present from my mum. No regrets. It`s a good choice if you want to give as a present and don`t know very well what to buy. On the bad side it spells unremarkable. I sense the generic hugo boss scent in here, but it`s kind of mediocre and the projection remains the same however much you spray. It`s typical of boss. I am usually attracted to bold fragrances such as thierry mugler`s and lilita lempicka`s... but this is still hugo boss we`re talking about! The bottle attracted me. Well, I still have to try on the masculine scent because this would be good if shared by a couple. Hugo xx and Hugo xy are a perfect combo, even if not a harmonious one. but to me xx is very plain and docile. maybe that`s a perfect she? I am sorry, but the basmati rice makes this an even more neutral and powdery one. as if the woman wearing it should be afraid to step in a crowd. it`s kind of the scent deffining a goody two shoes. It`s sweet and not dramatic at all. the black currant gives it a mild grasp. It`s sweet and deep. The mandarin is overpowered by the mixture of lychee, jasmin and amber. it`s as if the scent is restrained. it`s limiting itself. I imagine a woman full of potential but who is afraid to dress smart for once in her life. she still goes for pearly white nails, always the same length. and she claims she needs to feel loved and dramatic and windstruck! also, the projection is low. I could barely feel it on my wrist. But this happens with a lot of hugo boss perfumes, they keep to the wearer and probably a few inches further, but that`s all. the lasting is ok. It even gets better as hours go by. The longevity is also very low- 4 hours. that`s a pity! BUT!!! as I tried to accomodate myself with this one I discovered something. This can be innocent and wearable. It`s feminine, very nice and happy. It induces well being and tranquility. You just have to be very open in order to like it and introduce it in your daily routine. It is non intrusive and I believe that one can wear it day and night with ATTITUDE AND ANYTHING, EXCEPT sweatshirts and track pants or extremely ugly clothes. That is just wrong. It doesn`t evoke anything active, it`s just calm and cosy. The cholris rose is a beautiful flower- it`s scent is evanescent and etheral, adding mystery, the arabian jasmine is sensuous and feisty, but somehow tempered. So... Cannot be a fovorite, but is deffinitely wearable. It is nondescript but still classy, if you want! classy because it follows the correct line of perfume making.It is correct but not outstanding. If I were to give it a mark, I would say a 5/10. Still, I want to point out that the combination of xx and xy would be a very nice present for a couple! maybe the scents would make together an even better atmosphere than the xx alone. And, being a 2007 scent I can`t be but unsurprised at the lytchi ingredient! somehow this one is, just like the jasmine, a favorite. all in all, is not pretentious but OK. maybe it`s the woman that needs to be smart enough to rule the prefume, don`t you think? about the season~ well... it might be destined for summer but I don`t think this would last! It`s too weak. better try it in a cold spring or winter! I save mine for these two seasons. it should deffinitely warm me a bit with it`s sweetness and agreeableness.

I too blind bought Hugo XX from Ross but from reading reviews I see I have had a very different experience with this EDT than many other reviewers. My experience being more positive than most. For an EDT Hugo XX has incredible sillage and staying power on my skin (depsite having skin that eats perfume and projects poorly). I get moderate projection for about six hours and then the fragrance gets close and lasts subtley for another four or five hours. Overall I'm very impressed with the quality of this very affordable and long lasting fume. The notes that really stand out on me are black currant and mandarin in the top with the mandarin lasting into the midnotes where jasmine reigns supreme with only a wisp of rose. I also notice a slight spice like pink pepper at this stage although that might just be my chemistry. The base is a warm and creamy mix of amber and basmati rice which I absolutely love and is really my favorite stage of this fragrance. If I strain to smell them I also get the musk and sandalwood. My advice is to try this perfume on your skin and preferably more than once as Hugo XX is the type of fragrance that changes by chemistry and weather. If you already own it and aren't sure about it, try it several times in different weather (or times of the month) and see if you like it better at certain times. I feel this scent does well in cool weather and day or night. This perfume is very much casual and classy, it just depends on what you are wearing! 7/10 for packaging 9/10 for lasting power and sillage 8/10 for scent

Beautiful, feminine and soft! Was my signature scent for 2-3 years.. Still love it! It's a soft, lovely and ladylike perfume. I'd use it for any occasion - from a business meeting to an intimate dinner. It's strange, I know, but I'm just like under a spell of how nicely it's been composed. :) It already starts in a sparkling and moodlifting way; and this is just a beginning! Soon it develops into something grown-up, elegant and rich... which according to the notes list is simply rose and jasmine... but oh my, how much joy in it! The dry down is also nice and delicate. The scent gets milder, warmer, sensual, yet not too sweet. :) On me it lasts long - can still smell it on my clothes next morning or even later. Having a hard time to believe the previous reviews, honestly... PS. My admiration goes as far as EdP only!!! I'm so horribly disappointed in the EdT - it's raw and unfinished, it's like creaking door compared to the sound of viola. When it comes to the "smell".. Well, it's sort of fresh, citrussy, soapy... and above all it's unfinished. An unbalanced thing. Therefore I dare to say that EdT is just a very different scent to my opinion. Starts off high and stays there, never gets to the sophisticated warmth of the EdP. Which I LOVE about XX in the first place!!!

It was my another blind buy, based on the trust to the Hugo Boss sense of style. Received this week and wasn't disappointed. In fact, I like all perfumes by Hugo Boss, more or less - they have style, own recognizable aroma. This one is not exception. It opens with a massive attack of jasmine and amber to me, but I like those notes. The second note I feel is mandarin, it opens not in acidic way, but in light and gentle. The base notes to me are musk and sandalwood, which I think are yummy. The whole aroma is very pleasant and elegant. It's good for those girls and women who are confident and ready to sign herself in the crowd, but not in a freaky way to sabotage people. I wear "XX" casually, but my daily style is quiet formal and classy. Classy - is a good word to describe this fragrance. But it's not elderly. I think it fits girls in the range of 22 to 40 years old. Brings feminine, sophisticated hint to a younger person and do not make too serious older owner of this aroma. I'm wearing this perfume during the spring and autumn, because it's very warm scent. It can be warn in summer, too. I live in Latvia and we have rainy summer days. Longevity is not bad, but could be better. I apply it on my hair, that's how it lasts longer. Generally about 4-4.5 hours.

This was my signature scent 6 years ago..I bought the EDP version...this one was my 2nd best perfume, after hugo boss deep red.whenever I sniff at the nozzle spray,the scent that is left bring back the good old times when I was in college..I received compliments from friends that I smell nice whenever I put on this perfume..I love to spray it on shirt,as the smell stays longer n continously scented for days,and even after I have washed my clothes. I can easily pick up the notes of fresh citrusy-sweet mandarin orange n also juicy,a bit powdery-orientally like scent of litchi from its initial spray..then comes the jasmine n a little bit of rose scent..the unique part of hugo XX is,it has basmathi rice (I got this composition in hugo boss official website)...perhaps,the basmathi rice ingredient used,makes hugo XX very special n memorable in my heart.. Then it dries down to be warm n sensual scent..I love to wear it during day n night time...for me,I just want to be scented all day...it is neither seasonal nor weather appropriate kinda perfume..it can be worn at anytime n as long as u feel comfortable with hugo XX,you will wear it unconditionally....just like me-

I first received this as a gift back in 2009, I had a 100ml bottle and I immediately fell in love with it. It was my first ”expensive” perfume and back then everyone was in love with it. I loved it so much that it became my nostalgia, so when I found it again years later I bought it without hesitation. Although I'm no longer as in love with it as I used to be, I still believe it has a nice, pleasant smell, but it's the kind of smell that everyone smells like, if that makes sense? It's very common now. It smells really lovely, fruity and sweet, perfect for summer. I like it but I no longer LOVE it. It lasts a lot on skin and clothes. And it brings back lovely memories, which I think makes it all worth it.

XX is a fragrance that all the modern working women could easily wear. The mixture of white florals and fruit it's great and it creates a really femminine musky scent that is not offensive but still leaves a statement. But because there's something sexy going on too, you can easily wear this one for a night out. Definetly for classy women who like too have some fun too.

The EDP is so much better than the EDT & it is so long lasting with great sillage. At first its refreshingly fruity but soon it settles into a more floral base with subtle fruit hints & the dry down is so warm, feminine & pleasurable. The EDT does not do the EDP any justice so try the EDP & review it.

When I got the fragrance I really loved it and could'nt get enough of it. I wear it occasionally now. It's a bit of a heavy fragrance. The fruits are quite strong. That's the reason I don't wear it every day, but it's a nice warm fragrance. I have the edp and that one got a great lasting power.

ok. i've buy a tester. And this is so feminin, warm, sweet. I like hugo. i agree with chaosmotion. flirtly fragrance. rate it 7/10 longevity: poor. (3-4hours)

I don't like jasmine neither litchi but they mix well in these perfume and give new great scent a classy fresh smell suitable for work really like it

Agree, it smells nice but doesn't last long ....less than 3 hrs. Probably just doesn't work wel with my chemistry.

Definitivamente aburrido y desagradable. I'm sorry but I do not like. When I tried it in the store caught my attention, a friend gave me his half-used bottle to try it and return it so sorry. Definitely boring and unpleasant

I was very disappointed with this perfume. I had high expectations from Hugo Boss because I own Deep Red and love it a lot. This on is so synthetic and NOT appealing. Kinda sweet musk scent to my nose. I hate lychee in here too. So, unfortunately, this one is not for me.... But I ll stick with Deep Red:)

For me XX is one of the most awful perfume ever! Unfortunately I haven't tried it before I bought it, that was a mistake. It has such a heavy stickly smell and gives me headache. But the lasting power is huge, once I used it I can feel it everywhere all day long.

Sorry, but this creation is not worth to be called a Fragrance. It smelles cheap, synthetic and has no flowery and fruity notes to me. If it disgusts other people while wearing it, I am not suprised... .

Fresh and simple, but also a little boring and unimpressive. Generic. People might like it for it's simplicity, I guess. It's not terrible or disgusting, but I just wouldn't want it. Not even for free.

I was given as a gift from my uncle.It is too old for me to use it.This perfume is not for young girls and the scent is too boring.I gave it to my mom cause she likes the jasmine scent.

I have this perfumes. Sexy and good to wear but this scent make me headache. Maybe it not suitable to me.

This is not a bad perfume but it smells cheap and generic fruity floral in a shampoo style.

On my skin it's exactly the same as Nina Ricci's Premier Jour.

Too soft and weak, the smell is nothing special

Not groundbreaking and perhaps everyone has smelled something similar before, but Boss XX has some of my favorite notes, so I cannot be indifferent to it. At different stages of wear I can detect similarities with many favorites, but the blend opens fluently and balanced, so this subjectively is a like from me. Objectively Boss XX has a very solid, tested and often used core of mandarin orange, jasmine and amber. This recognizable mix is dominant in early and later drydown (embellished with the rest of notes). Opening has strong black currant, rose, lychee and some rice – the whole impression is slightly powdery, soft, somewhat bitter and somewhat fresh floral. It quickly changes to a slightly musky soft rose with a heavy dose of watery lychee. Later lychee calms giving place for jasmine on a soft amber base. The floral powdery notes of rose and rice are also quite present even later. This bitter floral, muskiness and sweet fruit mix stays and develops for a good three hours with moderate sillage and some two more hours as a skin scent.

This one took me by surprise, literally! Based on the modern ad campaign and bottle design I expected a fruity fresh crowd-pleaser. But when I sampled this I was blown away at the almost vintage beauty this scent unfolds on my skin! It's definitely in the league of Fragile and Sensi. On me, the rose, jasmine and something sweet but not cloying (black currant?) is making this a beautiful and elegant perfume with a velveteen smooth amber base that only enhances it. The bottle is misleading, this darling is elegant with a vintage vibe and should be in an elegant and feminine looking flacon, not in a modern sporty bottle. But the bigger your surprise when you test it! Silage is: "wonderful whiffs of slightly sweet flowers and sensual yum" -- Longevity is: an amazing 8+ hours in which it dries down to a warmer version of the fresh opening and the rich smelling middle stage. YUM!

Predictable, pleasant but boring, Hugo XX won't be getting any rave reviews from me. This fragrance is so light that it takes a lot of sniffing and inhaling to even be able to describe what it smells like. Hugo XX has quite a simple opening with blackcurrant being its most dominant note. It's fruity yet it lacks that fruity punch which would've given this scent more character. The heart is just as bland and boring as its opening, with the jasmine and rose creating a scent which has been done and re-done many times before. The floral combination is soft and pretty, yet it has that all-to-familiar soapy quality which I really dislike. I never got to the drydown because this fragrance disappeared in only 30 minutes. It's possibly the worst lasting scent I've come across so far. I don't recommend this fragrance unless you like to be ordinary.

Took some time to really get a feel for this fragrance. I only spritz a tiny bit on my wrist at first - in caution, but it seemed rather dull and similar to alot of other scents. Curiosity got the better of me and I gave it a good few big sprays all over. What a difference! I need to be heavy handed with this one to appreciate it. The fruity opening is quite same old same old, but as it develops and the jasmine and rose come through it really becomes beautiful! There is a touch of sweetness and I think I am getting the rice in the background which gives a new dimension to the perfume - this is what makes it something special. Lasts fairly well for me, 3-4 hours then I re-apply. Think maybe the lotion will help too. Im on the look out for the EDP version now!

It is a soft, uncomplicated scent. I think the notes are really well blended in this, none of them stood out. I feel it is more white floral than fruity, and somehow reminded me of the drydown of Nina Ricci Love in Paris. Suitable for office wear, has only a soft sillage. About the longevity... now that's a problem here, it lasted only 1-2 hours on me. Okay, let's see. Am I impressed? Absolutely not, it's not my kind of scent at all. If I would have choose one word to describe it, it would be "proper". It's an unoffensive, light, discrete scent, especially for spring and summer, suitable for a young girl or a woman, who likes rather feminine and sweet scents, but doesn't want to jump on the candy-floss bandwagon.

I like it,I really do!maybe that's because I like litchi and it's got plenty of this sour fruit.it's so fruity and refreshing and it's well blended with jasmine and woody notes.I also smell something like pink pepper that I don't find in the notes. I can't say it's the most unique perfume in the world,but it's definitely not boring.it can be perfect for spring and summer,not as rich as most of golden bottles,it more likely transfers the freshness of a transparent bottle. the name's cool.it seems like it's more about sexuality,not gender or personality.though the scent alone doesn't reach the idea of the name. by the way I like XY too.both are modern perfumes with great smelling.

I found this at Ross's and it was a blind buy(since all their perfumes are in these hard plastic containers and you can't smell it). Ok, there is no way this is a gormand-I would describe this is as citrusy floral. I definately get mandarin and lichi and middle notes I mostly get jasmin and a bit of a musk on the drydown. Its a very pleasant scent(I do like it because I like jasmin) The smell is mostly florals, the fruit is only slightly there in the beginning. Its a nice scent and not generic however, lasting power is very poor as some of the other reviewers noticed. I don't think I would repurchase this because of that

This fragrance can be described as clean and uncomlicated aswell as soft and pretty. I wouldnt say each note is very distinct, however the overall effect is nice. I would imagine this would be best worn at work as it is not very aggresive and wont annoy others. I would suggest it be worn during the say in the summer. Overall this frangrance isnt something amazing but it isnt bad. Its just a nice day to day fragrance. The staying power of this fragrance could be better, you would probably have to spray yourself again half way through the day, that may be because i have the eau de toilette.

UPDATE I bought this one because I got curious about the basmati rice notes. The lasting is ok, depends on the weather: the very first time I tried it, I applied at noon and 5 hours later, it completely disappeared. But today 6 hours passed since I applied it and I can still smell it. The smell is very nice, I thought it would be powdery because of the rice, but it is floral and sweet. A good EDT to use at work or doing casual things (and also smells nice). It is very different (in a good way), I don ́t know any perfume similar. Maybe I ́ll buy other bottle when mine ends.

This was up for free in our local sports store if you bought over a certain amount of money. I took a whiff and well, I'd say XX is pretty average. It's nice, fruity and appley, which is a surprise considering the bottle and Boss's fragrances in general. And the previous statement was not meant in a negative way towards Boss fragrances, since I like them. :) XX isn't something spectacular, it's nice and easy to wear, perfect for everyday use. I would have hoped for something a bit more hmm "mysterious" perhaps. But overall, nice-smelling, non-offensive, simple fragrance.:)

The opening is fruity, very refreshingly sweet and delicate. The Jasmine brings a soapy cleanness to it. I don't really smell the woods, musk or amber, the fruit and floral just kind of fade, but still smell nice. Soft. Overall I really like this. Its a very comforting scent. Sparkly, and sweet in a good way (I usually don't go for sweet.....ever). My only complaint is its pretty weak. I can see spraying this MANY times to get any sort of projection and longevity. I will definitely enjoy this bottle, but not buy again because of the lack of strength.

This perfume changes completely according to one's skin. On me, it becomes all but banal. It's fresh and sensual at the same time. It's light, sweet, and I wouldn't classify it as floral fruity at all. More as a light floral oriental. Being middle eastern myself, I can tell that Jasmine/Rose/Amber is a must for our scents. You can feel it in the wind, in every corner.. All the notes in this perfume can be felt so clearly. After a couple of hours, the Jasmine/Rose and Amber/Sandalwood are dominant. Don't dismiss it unless you tried it on your skin.
