The Collection Magnetic Musk

I know I might upset some people, but here is what I think of Magnetic Musk. This is Dior Homme Intense (not Parfum old or new formulations - I don't get any strong leather or oud) mixed with Musk Ravageur, mixed with Under my Skin by Francesca Bianci, but almost better than all of them. It is heavier than DHI, less challenging than either Musk Ravegeur and Under my Skin, yet still substantial. If you like that combination of iris, honey, slightly animalic musk, on a bed of woods and tonka you will definitely like this one. This is for the evening on a crip spring day, but all day and evening in fall and winter. It is expensive at retail, but between this and some of the latest silly designer fragrances, there is no contest. Mark my words, for those who try it, the sadness of losing the OG DHP will be mellowed, and the feeling of "I wish this was easier to wear" for those who try Musk Ravageur, will also be forgotten. Wear this to your second/third date (not the first) and if you get a chance at a nightcap, have a tiny decant of Under my Skin to reup...get it? Gloves off at that point lol. This is a strong fragrance so don't go trigger happy with it, or should I say spray happy, well if you do in this case it is a trigger happy situation where you suffocate everyone and yourself in the process...trigger is more appropriate. If you don't like iris, or musk, or honey or all of them combined stay away...and please dress well for this one, it's not a hoody/errand/fast food joint type of thing. BTW I have four from the line, and they are all amazing. Courageous Rose, Elegant Vetiver, Vigorous Cologne, and Magnetic Musk. I can't pick a favorite, seasons and occasions will decide for me.

Except for the last three releases from "the collection" series, I have tried them all, and Magnetic Musk is by far the best. Of the three fragrances it is most often compared to, it reminds me most of Musc Ravageur, but with a greater emphasis on honey (yes, I can smell honey in Musc Ravageur) and iris, while also being much more powdery and clean. Unlike Homme Intense, it is not as suffocating and heavy, so it is much more versatile and can be worn on a daily basis in cold weather. The projection and longevity are above average - on average, the scent will be noticeable within an arm's length for 2 to 3 hours, and it will still be noticeable close to the skin for another 3 hours. It's a shame that the bottle is so simple and doesn't look premium at all. The atomizer is average and the packaging is quite boring. I bought the fragrance on sale for around 150 euros, which is a price that suits the product better. I probably wouldn't have bought it for the 215 euros it normally sells for.

If you love DHP, DHI, or Dior Homme Original (pre-2020), then you will really love this. It's absolutely fantastic. It's basically DHI with a honey note—not exactly honey, but like a honeycomb where you can tell it's honey, but not quite. It wears really thick, lasts a very long time, and the projection is moderate. I absolutely love this scent. It's not on the same level as DHP or DHI, but it could definitely be a honey flanker. Those are absolute masterpieces to me, so this is just one step below them. For the price, it's 100% worth it; if you love those other two and don't really want to be wearing them every day, it's a good change-up. As far as storytelling or transitions, it's pretty linear, but at the same time, it's complex with plenty of things going on in that linearity. 10 out of 10, bottle worthy.

An incredibly soft, appealing and versatile scent that will literally caress your senses with every breath. The first time I wore it, I was worried about its durability for the first hour. "A scent that combines powder and beeswax? It smells nice, but I don't think it's even gonna make it home with me." However, I was totally wrong, as the scent blooms over time and curls into vanilla and sandalwood, and it will last at least another four hours smelling like that until it starts to fade. Up to this point I've only bought clone fragrances and thought "why would I ever spend money on unnecessarily expensive perfume when I can get the same thing for a tenth of the price?", but it's going to be very hard to replicate this and I have absolutely no regrets that I succumbed. 9/10!

MM by BOSS Collection is one of those designer scents that feels niche in character - a smooth blend of powdery musk, creamy iris, and a subtle beeswax sweetness resting on warm woods. It gives a refined, cozy vibe that reminds me of a softer Dior Homme Intense and a hint of Musc Ravageur too, with impressive longevity and elegant projection. Not your typical crowd-pleasing cologne, this is for someone who appreciates musky, powdery sophistication and wants to smell different without being loud. Definitely sample-worthy if you enjoy warm, comforting, skin-like fragrances. For me it’s definitely backup worthy.

DHI only in the open. Smaller elements of DHI in the mid and full on MM in the dry down. So unique. Unicorn! It’s crazy because I chew on honeycomb(God’s bubblegum) often. I love it. The crazy thing is while I get a honey note it has what feels like honey on a bread like an airy croissant. I’m thinking it’s the honeycomb I’m smelling that I’m usually tasting. Way more comb than honey though, which is trippy. Dig this dry down in a weird sensual way. Like Garth said in Wayne’s World, she makes me feel all funny inside.

A beautiful offering from Boss’ The Collection, their niche-adjacent unisex line. This is a unique combination of iris and honey; just think Dior Homme Intense sprayed on a rich, oozing honeycomb. Iris is not my favorite note for men, but when it is blended well with another major accord (like in Givenchy Gentleman Reserve Privee), it can make for a gorgeous fragrance. Medium projection and good longevity. This leans slightly masculine. This iris-honey accord combination is probably exclusive to Magnetic Musk.

This. Is. Something. Else. I don’t smell the DPH comparison at all. I smell something animalic at the top, not dissimilar to pre-reformulated Antaeus or kouros. This is 30 min to 1 hour. And the dry down is the trail of Angel for men pre-reformulation. Powdery, musky and honeyed without being cloying or sweet. Absolutely stunning fragrance. This is something all the niche brands have tried to do for years but failed. Michel Girard is my new perfume hero.

Tried just 30 mins ago and definitely keep as a wishlist together with vigorous cologne. To me this is yummy, sexy, but powdery.. not screaming and not too loud. Subtle smell but so elegant. Smell like actual beehive with bee pollen all over which resonate the picture of thick juicy honey in my head. PS. To me it's not made me think of any DH what so ever.

I'd describe this as DHP (2014) in the opening and a bit of Musc Ravageur in the drydown with some honey and clary sage in the background. It's really good! This is my third bottle from this collection. All of them were blind buys, and they've all been amazing so far. I can't wait to get more from this line! Scent: 9/10 Projection: 8/10 Longevity: 9/10

Cozy, enveloping fall/winter evening scent. It's my favorite one from the 5 fragrances that were available at the store from this line. Although, it's marketed towards men, I'd purchase it for myself. It's a similar category of a scent as Dior Homme Intense (without vetiver) or Zara Rich Warm Addictive (without tobacco and coconut).

holy fuck this is good. Instantly bought this, period. Smells like Dior Homme Intense + Farmers Market / Organic honey. Sort of a sweet beeswax, lipsticky Iris and musky vanilla fragrance Scent: 10/10 Longevity: 8/10 Projection: 10/10 - date-night-like projection, and this is definitely a date night scent Price per ml: 6/10 10/10.

Yeah this is amazing... Take the best parts of Dior Homme Intense, Zoologist Bee, Musc Ravageur, and Musk Therapy, and blend them into a masterpiece. Michel Girard absolutely nailed this one. I just wish the performance was a tad bit better. I swear, BOSS is responsible for both the best scents and the biggest flops.

Definitely similarities with DHI and Givenchy EDP. The honey is clearly emphasized though, making this unique in comparison to both. A real gem if you're a fan of Iris, and preferably if you want it towards the sweeter side. Always take this when I want to stand out

Love it! If you've ever smelled real beeswax fresh from the hive you'd recognize the note. The iris meshes well with the beeswax and add in the other notes and you have very interesting and unique fragrance. Scent 9/10 Perfromance 9/10

this is a fantastic fragrance and well worth it if you can get it with some discount. Definitely a better offering than your typical boss scent. This is dhi meets musc ravegeur meets kilian gold knight.

The offspring of Musc Ravageour and Dior Homme Intense with a strong dose of beeswax (not honey). Musky and kinda unique. Purchase worthy. Available in Madrid Duty Free, as is YSL Babycat.

Smells like beeswax candles, reminds me of church. Quite sweet and soft, yet still has a unique character. Unisex. Is not overpowering. Dark academia vibes.

Best discovery of 2023 for me.

Rich beeswax sweetness, soft iris, clean musk character. At first it felt a bit heavy, layered, but it grew on me. Now I would call it more “velvet honey and iris” than just “honey.” The beeswax lends a warm, cozy sweetness, while the iris brings softness and a powdery touch. It does not wander much: a focused honey and iris core with musk grounding it. If it seems linear, that is fair, it stays in its lane without wild shifts. Yet it is surprisingly versatile. In a work setting it is neither intrusive nor undetectable, it sits well. If you do not fall in love immediately, give it time. It blossoms, settles, and can become a dependable signature.

A very interesting honey/beeswax fragrance. Very musky and has a lot of potential in use for layering with other fragrance. The notes make it appropriate for a lot of weather conditions except for very hot days so I would stay away from using this in the summer as it can be very cloying and harsh to the nose. I would not say this is not a blind buy safe fragrance and would recommend that you buy a decant and get it on your skin to see how it reacts. Definitely worth it though if you can find it on a discounter store of your choice for under $100.

This is intriguingly unique—a bold mix of 50 % cough syrup and 50 % freshly waxed boots. Depending on your experience with regional cough syrups (herbal or sweet), the level to which you agree may vary. It’s impressive but challenging. After drying down, it reveals lovely musky undertones, reminiscent of Musc Ravageur. Definitely worth a try!

very nice beautiful musk smell ..... less intense than Musk Ravageur by FM and less anamalik than Filthy Musk by BORNTOSTANDOUT yet similar to both ...

On me this is weird I have no idea if it’s the badge or anything else. The first 5 minutes it’s strong lipsticky iris with honey (but not too sweet) and I love it ten something bitter and green comes forward and it’s not the sage I love sage! There is almost something Bergamote like and tea leaves like. I swear there is tea in this one.. and then it becomes this fresh green bitter musk with a bit ob iris and a bit of honey.. somewhere around the second hour it smells like a cheap synthetic Zara perfume like freshly sliced cucumber that has stayed in water for a few hours. No warmth, I can’t smell any Tonka or any sandalwood just clean airy fresh musk with a bit of iris and a bit of honey and a bit of 🥒... Blindbought this based on the notes I love iris in all its forms: lipsticky, floral, fresh, powdery, makeup like, old grandma’s makeup bag all of them.. but the lipsticky iris in this one is so short-lived 😭. I like honey which this one has. I like musk too. I’m not a freshie perfume lover all though I have a few that I like but they are not the typical freshies.. what really bothers me in this one is this green bitterness that comes out past minute 10 on my skin. To me this is a spring-summer scent but I’m a bit weird with scents.. I’ll try to war it a bit more and see if my nose gets used to it or if it grows on me.. definitely not worth the high price for me. Longevity is good and silage is moderate on me.. P.s. I don’t get the comparison with musk ravageur.. the are ways apart at least to my nose..

On my skinn the clary sage overthrows everything.. selling my 90% full bottle of someone is interested dm me. Wanted to love this one so much as an iris lover but it just doesn’t get along with my skinn.

Very very iris forward. Anything but sweet. Not for me at all, smells too medicinal kinda. The honey does not add any sweetness to my disappointment.

On the first wearing it smelled like hot cinnamon candy stored in moth balls but the dry down was nice. On second wearing I enjoyed the powdery iris I was wanting but my mind kept getting interrupted by that synthetic candy note lurking just underneath. It took me four wearings to have that cloying note settle in my nose more as a musk. I didn’t have to work for MR or DHI. Either my nose is broken or it needed to be trained in this set of chemicals. All that effort for a somewhat decent reward. 7/10

had dior homme 2011 this is the same with better quality got it at discount for 140 euro have to say best purchase in years it would have been the perfect scent if the honey was like the one in tobacolor 8.5/10 to resume this is dhi minus lipstick . the lipsticky note was the only thing why i coudn't wear dhi in summer this is fix everthing in dhi 2011 the only scent i have in my collection that surpass this is radical rose extrait de parfum .

Finally got my nose on this. It's decent if you're into that androgynous Dior iris DNA type of world. In all honesty, though, it reminds me of the smell of a woman's beauty product you'd find at Sephora, like a cream or lotion. Not saying that to be a dick at all, it just genuinely reminds me of that type of smell. Not my kind of thing, but it's good if you're into those sweeter, softer unisex-type fragrances. 7/10

Believe the hype. The bees wax does not go animatic. I get it in the opening and then it lingers faintly in the background. It’s more of a Dior Homme Intense style fragrance than a honey fragrance. It’s less sweet than DHI. The bees wax is there, but it does not dominate and is not sweet or pissy. Nothing really to complain about. Solid release.

This is absolutely stunning! In the dry down it reminds me of the greatest Fleur DU Male from JPG. The same sage-bitter-green and powdery touches! In the opening shares similarities with Dior Homme intense and Bee. All in all, superb Fragrance but ugly bottle.

Powdery iris, deep fuzzy mohair-ish musk and a really far away dusting of lip balm and dark cocoa dust. The hidden accord of sexy glossy face/hand creams. Has a dampness to it, nice enough for a rainy afternoon.

The herbal clary sage and honeycomb combo is inspired and the iris doesn’t take over everything. Delightful and consistent autumn scent.

Feeling like hybrid perfume. Opening smell like Dior Homme Intense. Yet drydown is like FM Musc Ravaguer.

As already mentioned here, the opening smells a lot like DHI. Maybe DHI mixed with DH Original.

I put 7 sprays. No one can smell me 3 hours later.. Just saying...
