#006 Boxer

(12/17/25 rewritten for clarity--my stance is the same) Light spices, metallic, some kind of leather leaning, can't quite point it out--not immediately clear. It smells much like a new boxing glove leather, but more subtle. This is just on paper....on skin? You guessed it, less spicy, and the smell of fresh, lightly spiced leather (not cumin leaning, light citrus and light lavender, linalool is in the ingredients after all) combined with the metallic notes show. I would say this is NOT traditionally "spice clean" as it drives to accentuate the metallic/faint leather notes in a dirty bias. IMO, surprisingly wearable, not cloying, not generic, with decent sillage. The metallic note is not the same as the Secretions Magnifique, which was really a no-no for me, it's really subtle. This is definitely among of my few "endgame" fragrances, it's mysteriously clean, while being dirty in some aspects, like pure sweat, even urinous if you let your guard down from being noseblind (on purpose)--I can kind of see the "animalic" distinction, but maybe I have a better tolerance to such, I'm not getting this sort of impression. Also, even after slightly abating from the profile, this fragrance lasts FOREVER on garment (can smell after a few days still even) After a while, the spices mostly drift away into what's probably the MOST addicting sharp, fresh leather smell. LOVE IT! Would wear everyday, but definitely not the end of my search. But really, a breathtaking work of art with all the notes considered! As a side note, this is probably the most efficient atomizer I've ever seen in a perfume to date [2/10/26]. Why other perfumes don't use this kind of atomizer baffles me (you lose out on product by the lateral overspray). UPDATE: DS&D Leatherize is the neutral cousin of this!

For me, it's undeniably the scent of a new basketball or football including the chemical smell of factory coatings over the leather (could also be the smell of boxer's gloves but I don't have any experience or memories with those). It renders its concept relatively effectively as it immediately transports me to a sporting goods store or gym. Not overly sweaty or animalic to me, rather nostalgic as it recalls middle school gym class. Surprisingly super wearable. A great leather for warm spring and hot summer days.

Thankfully, for me, I detect nothing animalic on the strip. I really dig it. But maybe that would change on skin.

Like a good boxer, he is a macho man from the 80s and will hit you in the face and knock you down. This is a herbal one, potent, loud and pungent and lasts a good while. I get the rosemary and petitgrain in the top, then the cumin shows and this part I don't like. It settles into a vetiver, pine and sage base. Not an easy wear.

Hmm to my nose this is just full of spice but no gym smell, no sweaty smell, no boxer, no underwear, no leather gloves.. I only tired on a paper strip but will try in on skin also in a few days since I got a sample of it For now there nothing dirty about it's only a blend of all kind of different spices.

Really, really wanted to like this one, but it does not agree with me at all. Much closer to the smell of removing a new pair of vinyl boxing gloves from their packaging than the smell of sweat, leather and canvas that I had been hoping for. That saturated, plasticky smell DOMINATES for a long time, then the woodier base notes emerge in the final rounds. Boxer's woods bring to mind a sweeter, younger, less refined Gucci Guilty Absolute. The plastic/vinyl note recalls the latex machismo of ELDO's Tom of Finland, but without that fragrance's high level of campy self-possession. My experience with Boxer is an uneasy floating between these two poles of masculinity - one classic, one mischievous. This one's got plenty of staying power and is pretty idiosyncratic, so if you like the sample it'd be worth a purchase. Absolutely not a blind buy.

Why would you want to smell like this???

I love this. I’m not a fan of rubber/plastic smells but I really don’t mind it in this one, plus to me it’s mostly sweaty and funky. Fav from the brand together with #005 MECHANIC

There is something sooooooo dirty about this! Like pungent boxer briefs. Yuck
