L'Uomo di Pitti

This summer, on our trip in Tuscany, I and my husband went to Florence especially to visit again this small perfume house. The first time was in 2011, we bought 2 perfumes, and in all these 11 years, we hoped to visit again Spezierie Palazzo Vecchio. How impressed we are with the quality of their perfumes! And we finally did come back. Of course, we stayed in that small store for hours and I had to test all their creations, the vendor was terrified and bored in equal amounts. And I tried on my skin some few, on my husband's skin some, we went away for a few hours to visit the town and let the notes develop and come back to make the final purchase. And from all the man/unisex perfumes we tried, L'Uomo di Pitti was the most intriguing one. And the safest, strangely. It is warm and fresh, pleasing, and lavendery. (an easy crowd-pleaser, a safe blind buy). All that day, to me, seemed very familiar but I couldn't put the finger on it. It haunted me for hours and later that night I had the answer, my breakthrough moment. It was similar to Naxos Xerjoff. Creamy, soft, delicate, special, different. But, as a mention. When I tested Naxos in a duty-free shop it did not give me a very distinctive feeling. Only when I bought a vegan and cruelty-free dupe made by a Spanish house I did fall in love with Naxos. So, what I am comparing here is that dupe of Naxos and Pitti. And they are not completely the same, they evolve differently on the skin, however they share the DNA.

Omg love this. Rupaul's glamazon springs to mind. Amber styrax, with a punch of masculinity in the juniper. The lavender is not super present but it adds a sweet almost creamy touch. Something zesty in there too and super unisex. Big love, one of the best of this line so far. Drydown is a real smoky, rubbery styrax. I've owned a sample of this delightful fragrance for a bit over 2 years already, but now I'm wearing it again as it seems to fit the season (midst of autumn) so well, I can finally select this one. l'Uomo di Pitti was made to celebrate the yearly men's fashion fair in Pitti. It is quite a sweet scent, which explains why I like it. You'd think it contains tobacco, but it doesn't . Maybe the sweet scent is caused by the combination of styrax, iris and lavender. PS: he describes it as a fougère, not an oriental woody fragrance.. Good, solid, traditional mix of amber and floral notes, - maybe a little too heavy on the geranium,- providing an enduring Metrosexual/smart-casual vibe for the working day and beyond. That persistent, overly sweet floral note is holding me back from wearing this fragrance too often unfortunately. Expect it to be offered for resale soon! Edit: It's currently for sale on ebay!
