Primavera a Firenze

Primavera a Firenze is another high quality offering from I Profumi di Firenze. It has what appears to be a very gentle opening, a very pleasing opening but it takes five minutes to warm up before it starts to project. What you get at first is a general feeling of sweetness, gentle sweetness without any sugary nonsense. Then as the first few minutes tick by, the perfume unveils itself. The opening gives you rose, wisteria, cardamom with lemon, pineapple and a gentle rounded rhubarb on top. At this stage it's the top notes in combination with the cardamom sweetened rose that dominate. 45 minutes or so in and the rhubarb, pineapple and lemon are fading and the floral notes come through. Rose, wisteria and lily of the valley predominate and the perfume has become a floral one in the main. There is a hint of geranium and cardamom and the patchouli starts to come through and add a little green note to the colouring. It feels like the perfume is a moderate projector at this point but it's actually a strong projector and you won't notice unless you leave the room and come back in again. After another hour all the top notes have gone and you have a moderate to strong projector and a floral perfume. It continues to project moderately for about another three hours. Then it begins to fade. Five and a half hours in and it's a faint presence on your skin. The last wisps of it struggle through to just after the seven hour mark. Primavera a Firenze is a lovely chypre that is unisex. I think it works perfectly at any time of day and in all seasons. It's lovely and refined. A big like from me.

As I live in the center of Florence my spring usually smells -unfortunately- with cigarettes and diesel fumes, but this is really a lovely scent. I believe in the upper parts of the city (like Boboli or Giardino delle Rose) the smell is just like this perfume- sweet, fresh, a bit greenish, a bit ozonic- it is perfectly blended very uplifting and pleasant. Quality is amazing, lasting power is great.
