Vaniglia del Madagascar

This is simply the most amazing vanilla I have ever had the pleasure of smelling. I have smelled raw vanilla/vanilla bean from madagascar, and the comparison is truly incredible. I saved, and bought a large bottle. I am SO happy I invested! Whenever I am craving sweets, or feel a little down, I just break it out and take a long breath. It is completely blissful. I cannot reccommend it enough! If you like the run-of-the-mill synthetic vanillas, or bottled vanilla extract/vanillin, you may not like this. It has a sharpness which I note as lily-of-the-valley, but it is the sharpness that makes it so realistic! Also, it has a delightful powdery and chocolate note. When I put it on, my roommates say I smell like cocoa powder. It is rich, and full, and round. It is bright enough to wear in the summer, and warm enough to wear through the colder months. The longevity is AMAZING. It will last a full 24 hours, and longer if I don't shower and it stays on my clothes for days! (for me this is quite fantastic).

Original review below, but I'm here to say I was wrong about this perfume! Not sure what it was those first couple of days I tried it - maybe the perfume had to settle after shipping? - but now I can't get enough of this vanilla. It layers so well with everything and just adds such a beautiful whipped cream vanilla note. Cookies and cream but more cream than cookies, and its addictive. Don't know *what* i was going through to think this was mediocre, but I have now seen the light and its really unlike most vanillas because its not the woody kind, and though its gourmand its not cupcake either - its whipped cream. also, a compliment getter and crowd pleaser, even TSA was complimenting me! OG review: Its a good vanilla, but not great. I get the oreo filling vibe, but the novelty wears off and you're left with an okay vanilla. Its very easy to wear because its so mediocre its wont be offensive to most noses, so there's that. Not a bad purchase, but certainly not a repurchase.

Vanilla lover here and I am so glad I took a risk on this blind buy. The honeysuckle/lily of the valley (I read different white flowers depending on the site - maybe it's both) is a unique take on a vanilla fragrance, unlike any other I currently own, and it dries down to the most beautiful, rich, sweet, creamy, comforting vanilla. I pulled on a sweatshirt this morning and could smell something so delicious (agree with another reviewer who said it lasts well on clothing). I was wearing a different fragrance, but decided I wanted to smell like THIS today instead. Took me a few seconds to realize which of the many vanillas I own this was - the vanilla itself was the identifying factor. Slightly green, white floral in the opening, drying down to whipped cream, fluffy and yet rich, deep vanilla. I'm surprised this one doesn't get more love, I sure love it.

I handle exotic vanilla beans on a semi-regular basis and I love infusing them into my desserts. Really great and high quality beans have a sexy woodiness to them. I saw a YouTuber list this fragrance under scents a fairy would wear. For me, there is something luxurious, gorgeous, and a little magical about this scent that channels a wood nymph or a woodland fairy. That's the woody depth of the Madagascar vanilla in this scent. There's also just a touch of a pretty green essence, in addition to the creamy depth of whipped cream. This is not a scent that's incredibly complex but it's very cozy and feminine and I adore wearing this to bed. It's the perfect companion to a silk or lace night gown. And once this fragrance heats up from the warmth of freshly showered skin, it becomes truly intoxicating.

★★★★★ WOW! That was my first word after spraying it on me for the first time this morning. This perfume is everything you can expect from a true, round, sophisticated and pure vanilla. The opening is a mix of cocoa and boozy notes. After a minute the boozy note settle down, turning into something round and perfect to my nose. I love how the lilly adds that extra sharpness to this elixir. Five minutes into the development you can no longer separate the notes. It's just one note complementing each other in the most beautiful way. If you have never tried a true vanilla, this is the one you should try. :-) It smells nothing like the generic, synthetic, super sweet vanilla you get in the market today. Boozy/ cocoa/ lily/ soft, expensive powdery/ purest vanilla.

I’m in love with the opening of this, it smells green and cold I suppose from the lily of the valley. It smells like a cold spring or summer evening after you’ve spent the day outside in the sun, you’ve put on a cashmere sweater and are eating vanilla ice cream, but there’s something slightly nostalgic and melancholic about it. It reminds me of Wild Bluebell by Jo Malone not because they smell similar per se but because they both smell like melancholic, cold spring air to me. Then sadly this morphs into a creamy vanilla scent upon dry down which isn’t really anything special. It reminds me of a cleaner, less synthetic and cloying version of choco musk oil. But that opening is so beautiful I will always repurchase.

This is not your mama's Vanilla Fields. Vaniglia del Madagascar is the purest vanilla I've smelled, a true reference vanilla that is as gourmand as I ever get, and even so, it is balanced out by a lily of the valley, with its green/white floral quality preventing it from being 100% edible smelling. This suggests a custard cream vanilla, nothing boozy, nothing floozy, nothing gussied up with 31 flavors from the sweet shop. It is a natural smelling, straight from the bean vanilla in its dry down, lightly frosted and low in sugar. There are intermittent moments of tasty toasted marshmallows, too, but the lily of the valley overtones linger on my skin, which is a lovely contrast to it all.

Do NOT sleep on this if you are team Vanilla! Smells exactly like the Oreo cookie cream filling🫠🫠🫠 In the first 10-15 minutes you do get lily of the valley mixed with vanilla. When I first tested this I was turned off by the lily of the valley (you can smell the greenness and white floral) mixed with vanilla BUT just wait for the dry down... holy toledo... all I smell is a creamy yummy vanilla, exactlyyy like the cream filling in Oreo cookies. The lily of the valley mixed with vanilla is so unique and I wouldn’t want to change this fragrance in any way. This is the best vanilla fragrance I bought this year. PERIOD! Back up bottle approved!

Hah, I can totally see the Oreo filling vibe. This is a nice and light, heavy on the vanilla, floral vanilla scent. There’s lots of sweet vanilla frosting, though not overly sugary, lots of yummy cake-like vanilla poured over some delicate flower petals. But hiding underneath it all is a little lemon drop candy, I get the faintest hint of something sugary citrus in there. I really enjoyed the scent as a vanilla lover, I found it quite wearable and the floral aspect keeps it on the more interesting side for a straight up vanilla fragrance. I don’t find the quality of the ingredients to be knock out, but it’s quite nice for what it is.

I received a sample of indie brand Cocoapink's Heavenly Vanilla and it smells nearly identical to this one. I don't believe it was intended as a dupe but it definitely ended up that way and it's GOOD!! I think they're about the same price (depending on size of bottle). Worth trying if you love VDM. 💜 Edit: if anyone is looking to extend the wear time and projection of this beautiful perfume...Palmer's Cocoa Butter & Tahitian Vanilla lotion smells nearly identical to VDM. And for a large size bottle, it's less than $10 on Amazon in the USA. You're welcome 😁 Lol.

Friends, if you can get your hands on the Rinascimento collection version, it is exactly the same scent but way more concentrated! I's POTENT!! The spezieriepalazzovecchio.it website describes it as: "the Rinascimento collection contains a selection of our most loved perfumes with a greater concentration of fragrance that makes them more intense and persistent. To enclose these special perfumes we have chosen a high quality French glass whose shape recalls our herbal tradition and a wengè wood cap that testifies to our passion for nature."

What can I say about this simply perfect fragrance? Simply perfect, because it has a disarming simplicity, yet at the same time evokes very intense and nostalgic emotions. It opens sweet, but green. Fresh, yet creamy. It smells of vanilla, cream, freshness, and lightness. Perfectly balanced. You can detect the lily of the valley, but it’s absolutely not a heavy, retro floral. Simply perfect. For me, it’s an innocence that’s super, super sexy. Very feminine. Worn in the evening with an elegant, daring outfit... it’s absolutely captivating.

Holy balls. I sprayed this once and almost fainted. Ok, a little bit of hyperbole. . . This is THE BEST vanilla perfume I've ever experienced. It's light, it's sweet, it's pure. It makes every other vanilla I've tried seem like cloying nonsense. This one feels like the very distillation of vanilla - like the careful scraping of a vanilla pod with a silver spoon - with the slightest warmth from lily of the valley. The whipped cream is a more of a kiss than a hug. Instant love.

I don’t know why this is so slept on, considering everyone is so into vanilla at the moment. It’s a lovely vanilla forward fragrance that is creamy and classy. It’s not synthetic smelling like other popular fragrances. It really does smell like a fancy cookie, but manages to be sophisticated at the same time. It is a linear scent, however, so that could be what you are into or not. I also agree with others that I wish it lasted longer and it’s great to layer. Just gorgeous.

Delectable floral vanilla. Sweet, lovely Lily-of-the-Valley perfectly blended w/ creamy vanilla. Airy, whipped cream frothy masterful composition. Delicious, yet only mildly gourmand. Feminine, at once innocent in its simplicity & sensuous in its blend. Having experienced Bourbon vanilla beans in a few forms while in Madagascar, I am wholly impressed with the accuracy in this composition.

This vanilla fragrance is so simple yet AMAZING! To me, the lily of the valley is giving more green vibes than white florals which I ✨love✨! It becomes, on my skin at least, a green and creamy vanilla, but honestly, the BEST vanilla scent to wear as a signature scent. The only down side to this perfume for me, is the fact it doesn’t last on my skin as much as I would like it to.

This is such a warm and cozy realistic vanilla. It reminds me of a glazed donut with loads of sweet whipped cream on top and while I adore this aroma while at home, I don’t wear it while out and about. It’s heavenly while relaxing when reading, or sitting by the fire, perfect for winter and for the holiday season!

Was looking for the perfect vanilla scent and found this when I was visiting the shop and Im in love. Its not too overly sweet and i can lowkey wear this on hot summer days. Excited to wear this when it gets colder! Its not too sticky of a vanilla either and would also be a perfect bedtime perfume.

Creamy beautiful vanilla comes out after that first minute of strong doll like perfume. Subtle sweetness. I love this perfume for layering, which I do with my favorite masculine perfumes. I usually layer this one with Frederic Malle Monsieur and also with Frederic Malle Bois D'Orage.

This is a very nice vanilla orchid perfume. I love what the scent fades into which is a a sweet chocolatey vanilla. It's very strong at first spray so it's best sprayed at a distance. I love layering this perfume over Victoria's Secret vanilla lace body lotion.

A pleasant, soft, and unobtrusive vanilla, unlike many others. It lacks a cloying, gourmand sweetness and stays on the skin for a long time—almost all day for me. The scent maintains a perfect balance between freshness and depth without becoming overly sweet.

I personally love this fragrance. There was a comment made, saying that it smells like Oreo filling. And I agree. It's light, airy, and if you spray enough you'll smell it projecting off you like crazy. I dont any of the green notes with this.

Vaniglia Del Madagascar is not talked about, however this is a simply beautiful vanilla. This lasted over 8 hours on my skin. 9 out of 10 rating for me. Definitely full bottle worthy. Whipped cream dream. You'll like this.

Toasted marshmallow and burnt sugar with warm vanilla caramel poured on top! Too sweet and gourmand for my taste,I will stick with my Farmacia Arunziata VDM,sweet but will not cause tooth decay!

Absolutely love this fragrance ! If you like tihota by insult Paris this one is very similar in the dry down after an hour ! Very creamy vanilla in the gourmand family

2-1-2019: Full bottle purchased from beautyhabit.com. This is my go-to vanilla for the fall. It smells like vanilla flavored whip cream, with a dense smokiness. I don’t know where the smoky note comes from (I assume lily of the valley isn’t the source), but it’s been there since day one. This doesn’t smell like a lot of mainstream vanillas but it also isn’t all that adventurous. It lasts for about eight to ten hours on me, with the first half of that time having a projection of 10 inches. (Note about the packaging: The bottle is on the plain side but isn’t too unseemly and the cap is plastic.) I bought this when I had 15% off my purchase, so it ended up being $93 for 100 ml. For the scent and quality, I was ok with that but I don’t think I would repurchase it at full-price. Edit 2-22-2020: Have worn this many times this winter at my new job (I work in a school.) I only spray this once and it usually lasts all day, but is especially strong in the morning. The smokiness I originally noticed has not shown up lately, perhaps because I'm using it in the winter? I've heard many comments from the kids when they walk into the room saying that it smells like cookies, cupcakes, frosting. It seems to be a universally appealing scent. In my original review, I wasn't overly impressed with this fragrance. It has grown a lot on me over time and, now that I am almost halfway through the bottle, I am planning on buying another when I get closer to running out.

I've long heard good things about Il Profumi di Firenze Vaniglia del Madagascar, Madagascar vanilla being, in my understanding, perhaps the sweetest type of vanilla, and the experience of smelling it a couple occasions on skin (finally) does not disappoint. The fragrance both has distinction of both being unusually tip-of-the-tongue sweet but also somewhat floral as well, but subtly, via lily-of-the-valley; usually floral vanillas back off on the sweetness somewhat, at least in my recollection. Despite its sweetness, though—not usually a problem for me—it’s very smooth and I regard it was one of the easier-to-wear floral vanilla fragrances out there, a little less strident than, say, Dame Perfumery Black Flower Mexican Vanilla, another great example of a floral vanilla fragrance, and more modestly priced, in fairness. It performs quite well, so there’s no value lost in that respect. The retail price ($190 for 100ml at Barney’s) is a bit higher than I’d pay for it but if there are grey market deals to be had, I’d certainly recommend checking this one out or at least procuring a decant. Vanilla lovers should find this to be pretty effortless wear, but it may not dazzle or stand out enough to merit acquiring a bottle. That’s more or less my stance. Still, it’s very nice and I’ll enjoy the decant that I have. 7 out of 10

My quest for and experimentation with lovely, vanilla-forward fragrances continues. I've been searching for a lovely, cozy, vanilla-centric fragrance that I can (afford to) liberally apply at bedtime. I find certain cozy fragrances help me sleep at nighttime. I was REALLY looking forward to trying this fragrance. And while lovely, this is just a no-go. Not sure what I expected. But upon application, a distinct, relatively heavy dose of floral (lily-of-the-valley) emerges. This floral note quickly disappears and within 5-10 minutes, a pale, thin, barely detectable vanilla scent note emerges. And the vanilla develops as a barely-there, skin scent. The opening floral notes dissipate within 10-15 minutes and vanilla appears. That's about it. Said and done. And some vanilla remains. And within 30 minutes of this skin scent, I can barely detect any perfume even after over-spraying... I'm happy I discovered and purchased Jovoy Fire At Will, Mazzolari Vaniglia and Ligne St Barth Vanille West Indies. All three of these perfumes offer a realistic, creamy, fragrant, vanilla-centric note with florals (mimosa, orchid and vanilla orchid respectively). Each one is a beauty. Vaniglia del Madagascar is okay, I suppose. But with its hype and at its price-point, I imagine I expected something more.

Vaniglia del Madagascar feels intensely Italian, as I suppose it should considering the house’s heritage. It’s a shockingly strange combination of notes which at first I found a little weird and off putting if I’m honest, but the longer it’s been on my skin the more it’s growing on me. Lily of the valley is a note I love and adore, a flower which provides no natural raw material to use in perfumery, and so synthetic accords vary drastically in accuracy. This doesn’t smell like the lily of the valleys I know and love, but that’s not a bad thing. Instead it comes across intensely soapy, like sudsy white bars of soap in a sparkling garden of flowers. The creamy vanilla brings a much needed sweetness to the party, but doesn’t dominate, they mingle with each other in perfect harmony. To me, this smells like an expensive bar of soap in a fancy Italian hotel. Glorious, but I’m not sure I’d buy a bottle.

How are there no reviews for this yet ? This a sweet pretty syrupy vanilla. Not really cupcakey but sweet nonetheless. Compared to farmacia anunziata's vdm, that could totally be worn by a man with it's dry smoky vanilllic scent where's this is totally girly. A bit too sweet for warm weather though I feel it will fare better on me or anyone, in colder weather. Update: 6 months later- even in cold weather this is toothachingly sweet- really sugary vanilla with some floral touches, from the orchid. I like this but can't make up my mind as to whether I like it enough to buy a fb...

I bought this based on many reviews stating this was THE best vanilla. I was also expecting something a bit fresher with the addition of lily of the valley, but this is just a basic, short lasting vanilla. Nothing special. It’s very good quality for the price in that it smells nice, but disappears on me pretty much within minutes. Maybe it’s better suited to summer. I really love the company and if you’re looking for a cheap, nice smelling vanilla this might be a good option. As for best vanilla though, this isn’t it. Sadly this won’t be a repurchase for me.

Beautiful whipped cream vanilla, with just a dollop of sweetness. A realistic floral sings in the chorus. Everything smells natural and fresh, and I’m really enjoying the in store sample I’m wearing. The price for 50ml is right in line at $110. The only slight is that this is placed in a crowded vanilla gourmand field, and I like others a bit more. Still, Vaniglia del Madagascar is a fun scent, and would make a great straight forward sweet vanilla or layering perfume companion.

This is very different from a lot of the vanilla fragrances out there. It is a true vanilla. My only complaint is that instead of using lily of the valley they should have used a different type of flower something that would have blended better with the vanilla. But the vanilla in this fragrance is very warm and caramelized. It's hard to describe but it's a very beautiful vanilla. I definitely want to get the bigger bottle. I currently have the small one.

Been wearing this all day- with my skin it turns into a sweet sugar cookie vanilla. It is very lovely, but teetering on a bit too sweet for me. My mom was standing next to me while I wearing this and asked me if I was baking something? lol. I will probably get a decant of this, but a full bottle would be a bit too much. If you're on the hunt for the perfect vanilla, this is one you must try :)

This smells like rich vanilla ice cream but it’s well balanced, fresh (slightly soapy in a good way) and has a slight powder finish on the dry down. I spray my sheets at night and fall into a vanilla cocoon. Unfortunately, this gorgeous scent has little to no sillage. It is a true skin scent that will stay close to the skin all day and night.

This is the cleanest floral-vanilla that I own. I was shocked at how powdery, yet still vanillic, this fragrance is! (Update) And then the drydown is creamy!! How in the heck did they pull this off!?!?!?! Whoa...that Lily-of-the-Valley is really pushing after it dries down. Might pass this along to the wife...

Simple, floral vanilla (orchid note I suspect), pretty, but not exactly what I was expecting. Suppose I was hoping for a more foody vanilla. Not sure about this one yet...

This is a sweet vanilla with a huge dose of whipped cream and a tiny hint of floral trying to peep out.

Beautiful vanilla scent. Unusual creamy vanilla, nothing more than that. Very round and comforting; I don't recommend it if you are looking for a sexy or a vanillin vanilla. Two sprays are enough for the entire day.

To me this is not a "true vanilla" (but I guess that could mean different things to different folks), in my opinion, it smells "as advertised" and is more a floral vanilla whipped cream. If you want a slightly deeper more root beer barrel type of floral vanilla I'd go for Van Cleef & Arpels Orchidee Vanille over this one. Vaniglia does have that natural vanilla bean-ish note which I've always thought has a very floral quality compared to a more foody, boozy, or vanilla extract type of note. I wouldn't call them dupes but in my collection Vaniglia has a very similar vibe to Tokyomilk/Dark Tainted Love which is yet another vanilla/orchid scent. I'd say Vaniglia del Madagascar is simpler, smoother, and more refined than Tainted Love and has something that my brain interprets as a slightly more "masculine" note especially in the opening. Really lovely scent - worth a sniff if you're a lover of all things vanilla/orchid.

Vaniglia del Madagascar is a versatile vanilla that "blooms" quite nicely on my skin. This fragrance is a liquer-like, sugary vanilla in the opening, but it settles quickly. There is a strong chocolately-floral note present at first, which is beautifully effective as certian fragrant orchids can emit a chocolate scent. Though the drydown of this fragrance smells like the finest vanilla cake on my skin, I continue to envision the orchids with each whiff. I am wearing Vaniglia del Madagascar today, on the first snow of the season, in a dry, high-altitude climate. I can smell it when my nose is 4 inches from my wrist; it doesn't project very far, but might cast out farther in warmer, humid weather. VdM never feels cloying or annoying to me - It is sweetly comforting and I decidedly LOVE it!

I was anosomic to the top notes of this, but after about an hour, it began to warm on my skin and now I can't seem to stop sniffing it. I had been trying on some other scents but this one kept overpowering all of them. It's not that it's strong really, but it's got a purity to it that the other scents I was trying didn't have. It's got the dusty quality that I've found in other of their scents, leading me to believe that perhaps there is a bit of ambergris, a sort of salty, vanilla dust. I don't find this to be a sweet scent at all but it is soft and cuddly. Very nice vanilla, sexy and approachable but different to most of what is mainline.

Testing next to Vanilla Zenzero of the same line....to be honest I prefer the zenzero it is a more warm vanilla. More depth to it, this one is nice also but it's more of a "plain" vanilla. I'm also not in love with this lily of the valley green / white floral feel to it. But as a vanilla lover I still like it. Now that I have both on next to one another the herbs of the zenzero are more pronounced (it is also at a later stage of the drydown.) *Bit later on in the drydown I am loving this one more as the Madagascar vanilla stats to shine as the lily note dissipates. Both are a journey and will confuse your nose for sure!

I’m going to politely disagree with the review below mine. Dua’s Vaniglia del Madagascar does not resemble this perfume. Dua’s is a dry vanilla extract scent with a slight woodiness. This is creamer and a little bit musky, but has absolutely no woodiness. I get a nice bright, but not golden or dark vanilla with whipped cream. I’ve seen it compared to the oreo cream filling and would say that’s accurate, this has more pronounced vanilla. Compared to Mazzolari Vaniglia, that one is a bit more sugary, and not as creamy. This has great longevity and projection. C.O. Bigelow and Beautyhabit are currently selling this.

I agree with so many reviews! Spot on folks! Spot on. Kudos. Sweetest, lovely vanilla...but dum de dum- Crash-LILY! The lily is whiny here. Metallic. I adore lily, but the two mix moshed together forms an unpleasant and to be honest, nauseating blend. But thankfully the nasty lily vanishes in the dry down and after a few hours the vanilla bursts through to be all alone, save for a squeeze of cream from a can. Whipped cream? Yup. Vanille? Yup. I prefer Tihota, Memoire Amour, even Body Fantasies Vanilla Fantasy. however I will probably use up my generous sample. Never, ever would I buy a full size.

A most talented artist and seller online made an imitation or "dupe" of this perfume for me. I really enjoy it. I have never smelled the original,but the one I have is warm,soft,powdery,gentle. I can smell slightly spicy orchid, and creamy,airy vanilla. And as others probably already know,vanilla does come from orchids,so they are very much family.They pair quite well together in one perfume. This one is more of a skin scent, with a very soft throw. Also,this sometimes sends me wafts of those candy hearts for Valentine's Day, (you know,that "chalky',powder sweetness) This is lovely to me.

What a charming vanilla! Imagine all the Comptoir Sud Pacifique Vanillas, NOT:) This is natural, yes gourmand of course, but without any of the plastic, synthetic notes of many modern vanillas. It is like a soft cloudy cuddly vanilla, with a drydown identical to the drydown of Guerlain Spiritueuse DoubleVanille (not similar top notes though). My twin two year old daughters apparently love this on me,and run to me for extra cuddles while pretending they are smelling me, whenever I wear it, so cute:) Recommended to all vanilla lovers out there:)

It took me a while to figure out what smelled familiar about this and why it was literally triggering an appetite response in my brain. To me, this mostly smells like the way the filling of an Oreo tastes, in the drydown. I think my favorite aspect of this frag is the opening of lemony/slightly green notes mixed with light floral. I was reading on here that it was lily of the valley, though through my research, I'm under the impression that it's actually honeysuckle. Regardless, this has become my favorite vanilla-dominant fragrance.

This one has a slightly powdery-doughy note to me. It reminds me of the vanilla scent of my Tom Ford lipsticks, which I like in small dosages but find a bit over whelming in the potency of VDM. Nevertheless, I encourage more to try this scent because it is fairly unique and of high quality. Since I live in California, there's maybe two days each year cool enough to justify its use, but I'm sure many others would get great use out of it.
