Zagara Neroli Flor

This is an ethereal orange blossom fragrance elevated with tuberose and rose facets. My mom brought the oil format of this perfume back from Italy when I was young and I would sneak into her room to steal it. I tried the spray format many years later and was disappointed that the complexity of the florals was subsumed by the citrus and petitgrain. The oil format clearly contained real floral absolutes and had an angelic otherworldly quality that was magnetic, but also a richness and depth inexplicably evocative of the old world. While primarily suggestive of innocence with bright citrus and florals, the faint musk trail from this perfume educes deviance. After smelling real tuberose absolute many years later, I believe the musk I was smelling was the trail of tuberose absolute. Despite being an orange blossom and citrus forward perfume, this perfume conceals the less pleasant mothball and BO opening of tuberose while highlighting its rich waxy floral dry down. Petitgrain is listed as the base note but I smell it in the opening with the citrus and noticed that the perfume dries down to an orange blossom, tuberose, and may rose trio. This is one of the most complemented perfumes I have ever worn. Most people haven’t smelled real tuberose absolute before so they are stunned and say they have’t smelled anything like it before. It’s interesting that people often describe it as angelic just like my first impression of this scent as a child. I would suggest getting the oil format of this perfume just to experience the otherworldly power of real floral that is lost in the modern inundation of suffocating synthetics. Natural perfumes don’t need to have 20+ notes to have their evocative power. They can be simple but high quality just like this.

pleasant easy to wear. orange blossoms wafting with hints of summer garden flowers. to dislike this signals to me a mean spirit because even if it is not something super complex or sophisticated, it is merely a sunny moment which may not be enough for some.
