White Regent Diamond

An absolutely brilliant fragrance...... After several months of maceration/maturation! Not quite beast mode but it's close, maybe it will be in time! But for this kind of profile it's spot on. Creamy base, with the iris and a gentle smokey vetiver in the mid supports a really lovely range of top notes consisting of sandalwood, fig, cardamom and tea. It really works! No need to buy gris charnel and the like in my opinion. This has good quality and the performance is above and beyond those far more expensive offerings, for me! It's possibly a little rougher, not by a lot though. You'd have to have the fragrances side by side and a good nose, even then you'd only be able to detect White regent diamond within a few minutes as this is far more robust, in a good way. Having this profile at this strength for a fraction of the price, I'm very happy. It's well blended, all the notes are there. It's a scent profile that doesn't really have gender and age limitations in my experience, it's one of those that if you like it then you wear it regardless! All year and any setting this will offer something distinctive and pleasantly noticeable. It'll stand out, especially when so many others are wearing blue, gourmand or modern sweet perfumery, no snobbery as i enjoy those scents also! It's just great to have this as an alternative option. Ok, so it's got solid all round performance, cuts through heat and cooler weather. The scent profile is both soft but persistent. Leaving to mature over many months is the key to this and many other fragrances from IAQ and similar brands! (I also have black carbon diamond, it was pure alcohol at purchase, again after many months is now a high strength, beautiful fragrance that deserves it's own review soon!) If you can find it, buy it, spray it several times, put it away for a bit and forget about it. You won't be sorry....... eventually! 😆 IAQ have always produced high quality, reasonably priced products. This is no exception, another great value offering.

I have a 200 ml bottle and just ordered a 150 ml, bottle as a backup from IBRAQ USA for $65 shipped. Finally back in stock. I also have Liam, a decant of Gris Charnel, and a decant of Gris Charnel Extrait. Of the 4, White Regent Diamond is my favorite by far. Liam second, then Gris Charnel Extrait, then Gris Charnel. White Regent Diamond is Gris Charnel without the realistic lipstick note from the iris in Gris Charnel, and to a lesser extent Gris Charnel Extrait. The iris in White Regent Diamond has a slight lipstick vibe but is more of a creamy milk, really well blended with the other notes. Gris Charnel smells like a lady's cosmetic bag to me. Of the 4 mentioned, I would wear White Regent Diamond (preferred) and Liam. For me, White Regent Diamond is the best of the 4 by far. Very high-quality ingredients and blend. Will need a maturation period of a month or so for the oils and carrier oils to blend and mix. When I first got White Regent Diamond, it smelled like realistic black tea. With very little of the other notes, which lasted 14+ hours on my skin. Placed the bottle on a slow-rotating shaker (lightly swirling the contents to encourage mixing) for 48 hours. After the shaker, I got to experience the full scent profile. A little over a month later, much richer, better blended, with improved projection and longevity. Easily top 3 in my 50+ fragrance collection. To my nose, on my skin, Gris Charnel leans very feminine because of the lipstick iris. White Regent Diamond is unisex. Liam is unisex, leaning a bit masculine. Gris Charnel Extrait is unisex, leaning a tad feminine. For the money, quality of the ingredients and blend, uniqueness of the DNA, and size of the bottle, White Regent Diamond is an absolute steal. Easily replaces Gris Charnel or Liam.

I started this fragrance dna with Liam Grey and that one is FANTASTIC, highly recommended at the price point. Next, I wanted to try White Regent Diamond as a clone for the extrait BDK version. I tested the original Gris Charnel and the extrait Gris Charnel and I don't think White Regent Diamond is the extrait Gris Charnel at all. It's beastmode original Gris Charnel and Liam Grey. Fantastic quality and blend. I did one spray of White Regent Diamond on my hand to test. Over the course of several hours I washed my hands multiple times... it took forever for the scent to finally disappear! BDK Gris Charnel is great but not worth it when Liam Grey and this exist. I have French Avenue 63.55 and Lattafa Antique to test as well but they need to mature. Out of the box those two are synthetic and harsh. I'll update after a few weeks. As of now my personal ranking: 1. White Regent Diamond 2. Liam Grey 3. Gris Charnel 4. Gris Charnel extrait Update: French Avenue Francique 63.55 is my least favorite. Not a bad scent on its own but it's the furthest from the original Gris Charnel. Maybe 70% similar. Lattafa Antique is very close to the OG. About 85% similar but lacks the sweetness to my nose. So, my updated rankings: 1. White Regent Diamond still my favorite, 2. Liam Grey, 3. Gris Charnel, 4. Lattafa Antique, 5. French Avenue Francique 63.55, and 6. Gris Charnel extrait (I'm just not a fan).

Man I've had this for a couple of months, just wow. The best way to describe this perfume is cozy, I know it's slightly overplayed but it's the best way to describe it. It is the PERFECT scent for just sitting down with someone (or yourself) and chilling, it feels like you're sitting inside on a cold, rainy night watching. It opens up quite green (a bit tea heavy for like 10 minutes or so) and just evolves into a beautiful vanilla, not a gourmand, sickly vanilla, but a really creamy one in the best way possible along w/ a tinge of iris that just enhances it. When I first got it, it was very airy. I couldn't even pick it up on my skin after an hour, and just smelt like a PG tips teabag. Now after a couple months it's genuinely in my top 3 fragrances of all time. If you don't like it at first, listen to me and let it sit. Performance wise, on my skin the longevity's good, ranges about 8-11hrs depending on the temperature. Projection is decent in the first hour or so, but after that it just forms an intimate scent bubble. Could be a lot better compared to IBRAQ's other perfumes in the line, but to be honest it's one of those fragrances that don't need to be beast mode, and its beauty arises when you catch whiffs of it periodically when moving or smell it on someone else in close proximity.

I stumbled upon WRD by complete accident at the bottom of a Reddit post while searching for a good dupe for Gris Charnel. It's strange; I usually do a good amount of background checking before I go ahead and blind-buy a bottle. Especially in this case, WRD isn't talked about as much as it should be, so I was skeptical. However, with the price being so affordable, I thought it wouldn't hurt to take a shot in the dark—and boy, was it a good shot. I've sampled Gris Charnel at my local Neiman Marcus and loved it the moment it hit my skin, but the problem was that I could only smell it if my nose was stuck right into it. For the price and the performance, I couldn't justify it. That DNA, though, is so good that I wanted it even if I had to get a dupe. Now, my nose isn't as well-trained as a professional perfumer's, but from what I remember Gris Charnel smelling like at the store and what WRD smells like right in front of me, I'd say it's 1:1. What sets them apart, though, is the projection. With just two sprays, I got comments from people around me about what I was wearing, which was quite surprising. Maybe it's a good thing that WRD isn't talked about as much; it leaves more for me, lol.
