Eau de Iceberg Amber

I blind bought a bottle because I was impressed by the sandalwood one, so I'll update when I receive it. UPDATE: Wore two sprays to the chest. This is light, but quite pleasant. It has no "monster" notes, such as the boozy quality in Bentley Intense, and in fact it quickly settles down, with moderate projection. The blend, however, is excellent, and reminiscent of a very light version of Ambre Sultan by Lutens. In this one, though, you don't get anything syrupy, vanillic, blob-like, or similar to Play-Doh. It is the "office-friendly" version of an amber niche scent, only the rum makes it a bit more interesting. The quality seems well beyond what you would expect at this price point (less than $10 for 100 ml) - this "blind buy' was one of my best so far! Note that I get little if any wood note, and though a couple of people think it's similar to Ambre Gris, I would disagree, other than they both present a version of amber (AG had obvious tuberose, whereas Amber isn't floral). UPDATE #2: Wore it again and now I'm also thinking that it smells like a more natural and smoother version of Spark for Men. UPDATE #3: With yet another wearing, 4 sprays total, I get the strong herbal note at first, but after an hour or so, that's largely gone and a "masculine" powdery quality emerges, and the sweetness is more obvious. The spice is always present but never too strong. This does not smell synthetic, at least when it is sprayed on the chest. It may be that those who think it does are smelling it up close on the skin, and you can't expect miracles from a $10/100 ml fragrance! If you want to smell something totally natural up close, yes, go find a $100/50 ml scent and have at it! Also, this is more of a niche composition than a designer one, so if you are expecting the typical mall scent woody/amber, you may be disappointed.

Eau de Iceberg Amber- Iceberg is easily a unisex fragrance that is a soft, beautiful, woody-gray amber scent including notes of: Thyme, Rum, Cinnamon, Frankincense, Ebony, Clary sage, Ambergris, Opoponax and Benzoin. DONT THINK THAT THIS IS A STRONG SCENT BASED ON THE NOTE PROFILE. The scent isn’t going to takeover a room, or announce your impending arrival. It occupies only the space you are in and doesn’t trail behind you. It lasts how you spray it. If you spray it in a reserved manner it obviously doesn’t last near as long as a heavier spray of the fragrance. Please note that spraying too heavily can cause a nauseating headache. It’s a soft scent, over spraying will not make it easier to smell. Its sillage is intentionally elegant, professional and soft. Was sad to hear that it is discontinued as I just learned of this beauty a couple of months back from a Fragram friend. I purchased 3 backup bottles for my husband and I to share. I feel that it’s suitable for any season and occasion. It creates a beautifully contemplative, serene atmosphere around you. Blind buy safe if you read this review and don’t expect more from it than it was created to do.

This fragrance is far more complex and rich than the 3 simple notes in this page may make estimate. There is a strong presence of Amber Gris (not listed); I even consider this to be the main note, already present in the opening and dominating the dry down. I also detect a boozy note like rum or sweet brandy, and cinnamon giving a very pleasant sweetness to this EDT. It's quite a good fragrance and an astonishing selection for the price (13.5 euros in ShowroomPrivé). I want to try it a bit longer before having a more definite opinion on it.

Lovely opening and mid notes, reminds niche orientals. Base a bit too sweet, but still very nice for price. It's sweet in solid way, not screaming at all. Oriental, spicy, woody, boozy. A real surprise, and of course underrated. Longevity - 8 Sillage - 7 Scent - 8

Masculine, seductive, I feel like this is a mix between givenchy pi and armani code profumo, I might be totally wrong but this is a really nice scent, I only paid 10euros for this at the time of purchase, now it is around 20 euros
