Musc Bleu Absolu

Musc Bleu Absolu is the oil version of Musc Bleu and it is a skin scent. It is a clean, freshly showered, fresh linen, type of fragrance. Some people may call it a "hairspray" white musk. While light, it is very long lasting and by no means wimpy. To my nose this smells nothing like Bonnie Bell. Most pure white musks smell somewhat similar as they share a similar white musk note but they also smell as different as, say, rose fragrances can smell different from each other. Yes, you can tell both contain white musk but the difference in the two fragrances is very apparent (to me at least). Musc Bleu Absolu isn't supposed to be sillage monster. Most people who wear musc oil are generally not looking to blast out a room. They just want to smell nice when in close parameters with others, like when receiving a hug. MBA is pretty pricey for a clean white musk so unless you have money to burn there are other white musk options on the market that smell similar for quite a bit less. There are also others that smell similar but cost about the same or even more. If money is a factor, I would suggest trying the old faithful Jovan Musk oil or Alyssa Ashley musk oil. Both have a similar white musk note and crisp, clean, classic feel. Musc Bleu Absolu is more of a clean musc than sensuous though. The others are a little more sensuous.

Absolutely incredible and so different than my other muscs. It’s cooler and wetter, like the dew from a petal, and not a marine note. Not soapy or powdery, just a light clean freshness with a hint of ylang ylang. It’s like wearing your favorite white tee when your hair is just wet from a shower. So perfect for warm weather, for bedtime or daytime scent. Longevity is 3-4 hours on me. I will cherish Musc Bleu.

Usually I have a nose like a bloodhound, but I am anosmic to something huge in this fragrance. I can tell it has a beautiful smell, and I love musks, but something in my brain cannot really capture this one. I've been testing it periodically for the last 5 years, and I have yet to be able to grasp what I sense when I smell it. It's like being numb after the dentist and being able to chew on your skin and having no idea you're wounding yourself. I "think" I sense water orange blossom, and mossy sandalwood, but I know there's more. The Absolu formula didn't help, sadly.

Got this in Venice after trying on over a dozen scents from the line. Soft, sweet musk that is comforting and understated. Hints of sandalwood but I don't get the flowers. Since it is an absolute, it stays very close to the skin and does not project, although it lasts over 10 hours on my skin. This tops my old fav Narciso Rodriguez Musk oil as this smells more pure and bright.

I have a full bottle (minus just under 5 spritzes to get the feel for it) or the normal Musc Bleu. $75 if anyone wants it in the US. Too spicy for me. Was told this was a nice white musk but the dry down just seems off and not what the sample i tried smelled like

it smells like a baby ́s head yummy , i don ́t love it i don ́t want to smell like a baby but i get it and like the concept so yeah a very lovely musk just not for me
