Pioggia Salata

I go easy with this as I love it so much and don't want to run out. When I close my eyes this fragrance makes me smile and takes me to the coast which I love so much. It's not necessarily the salt water smell with this it's the salt air on a windy day. Not tropical just clean salty air and wet green gardens. It's calming. A more personal spa fragrance for the soul, and the SELF. A must try for anyone who likes true ocean scents, not all that marine fruity tootle stuff.

I live on Mediterranean coast (South Italy) where oleanders, eucalyptus, pitosporum, palm trees and sea lilies are everywhere. This intoxicating perfume smells just like the air on a fresh summer morning I use to smell here. It me makes me fell like I’m walking through the gardens, still wet by sea water. Magistrally created, well balanced, this long lasting, great fragrance let me bring my olfactive world wherever I go ! Brava Silvana !!!

One of my favorites for the summer. Beach Beach Beach but without the sun lotion. Very well made. Imagine the end of a warm day at the beach. You take a shower and wash with olive soap. Put on a cotton dress and take a walk along the seaside to your fav restaurant and as soon a cool breeze touches your skin..... That is Pioggia Salata!

Love love love. I’m really in love with this scent. If you can imagine hot day in the Mediterranean coast, salty wind from the sea and wonderful oleanders blooming around... there you are. Must have for happy scents lovers.

What a marvelous creation! It's a marine fragrance, but its peculiarity is that aquatic notes are not the prevailing accord. Pioggia Salata has a dense, rich and warm odor, like the one that you can smell when you are walking around the paths of the coasts of many mediterranean places, when the sky is filled of rainy clouds before a sea storm. The soil is parched by the sun, and the shrubby plants, the aromatic herbs, the colorful blooming of buganville, hibiscus and oleanders, surround you with their wild beauty and their astonishing fragrances. You can sniff in the air the salty smell of the sea, but the balsamic scent of the flora overwhelms you and all your senses. Pioggia Salata even has some powdery accords, maybe for the presence of hibiscus and sand notes (mentioned in the official site as "hints of sand"), that give to the perfume a velvety sensation. And yes, I can feel a soothing, sensual scent that reminds to me the salty and ambery perfume of the purest, golden sand of Sardegna! Pioggia Salata has an interesting development on my skin: the opening is full of salty and seaweed notes, blended with a very strong balsamic accord (eucalyptus, of course). Then the balsamic accord decreases, while the salty notes keep to walk alongside the sweetness of ylang ylang, hibiscus, pitosporum and sand. The drydown is ambery and a little musky, the salty and seaweed notes leave a slight trace, like a mild, beautiful remembrance. I'd like its sillage a little more heavy (it's very soft, close to my skin), but the lasting power is definitely long lasting (about 8-9 hours). Pioggia Salata is an intense perfume, very sensual, refined and unusual... next to Womanity (audacious, oceanic, misunderstood) and Citrus (simple, clean, crisp), it's one of my favorite fragrances for the summer: a little jewel of italian niche perfumery, a great discovery! Edit: yesterday I applied Pioggia Salata on both sides of my wrists, and then I went out without taking the bottle with me: I found that the sillage is better, it radiates within arm lenghts! Great!

I bought this a while ago, realizing I never wear it i sprayed this on me this evening. Wow, this is perfect for spring and summer. This smells Italian to me! I guess it reminds me of Venice one of my favorite cities. It’s a salty floral aquatic fragrance that can be gender neutral. it’s such a great fragrance and I am surprised no one talks about this house. It doesn’t smell masculine at all which you think you might get with the marine description in the breakdown above. It’s starts out salty right of the bat and then on me the floral notes show up in drydown I get a bit of a tropical feel from it. It really brings out the vacation vibe but not in a coconut way at all more so in a beachy way. Longevity is not great probably about 4 hours but I have a 100ml bottle so I don’t mind spraying generously. Sillage is about an arms length away. Great for spring and definitely the heat of summer! Recommended 8/10

Here we find ourselves in front of a Bipolar perfume. That's right, it's like this perfume loves you and then you want to leave. I consider it absolutely unisex. The peculiarity of this fragrance lies in its composition which is nothing short of revolutionary as I do not think I have heard perfumes similar to this. I can therefore say that it is a unique, Spring / Summer fragrance. It is a pleasant fragrance: The salt on the skin after an intense rain, in the heart of spring. The dew on a flower, the hoarfrost on the grass, a flower floating on a pond. This scent recalls everything but in my nose it is a rather clumsy mix of floral and aquatic notes that converge in talcate notes. complex? YES. NOT TO BE USED IN WINTER / AUTUMN SINCE 'SEEMS ANOTHER FRAGRANCE. Rating: 7/10 Persistence: 8/10

This is rather lovely: clean, soapy, fresh (as in "fresh air on the seaside"), somehow lightly romantic scent I would say. Salty and green (again - it is more of a marine greenery than a forest), just nice. I do not see where the "balmy" comes from (in the description above), but I agree with the "ozone-floral" (and marine!) statement. In the description on my sample, it says that it is "supported by six different kinds of perfumed salts and seaweeds" and yes...you can feel that. :-) Nice one, really.

I bought a 15ml bottle years ago and was delighted by this perfume. I wore it again a few days ago and something sounds strange to me. I liked the first notes as they did then, but later I began to dislike dry down. Too powdery, with that strong note of eucalyptus that reminds me of Vix Vaporub that my mother smeared when I was a child I had a cold. Talcum powder plus vix vaporub ... I couldn't wait to go home to wash it off my skin. I'm very sorry, also because it's not that cheap!

A very gentle marine/aquatic fragrance, for me purely feminine due to large doses of gentle, breezy flowers, mostly lily. There was the first blast of saltiness that gave me a reason to think this is a bit masculine, but as this develops, it slides to being more aquatic than marine-like + the gentle sweetness of flowers form a very feminine feeling. Nicely done with gentle silage and good lasting power (6-7 hours).

This is greener and sharper than Acqua di Sale. The salt is there but it doesnt feel as natural and as linear as it is in Acqua di Sale.

This perfume is tame little chameleon on my skin. The definition of how a unisex perfume should be done in my opinion. It is not particularly floral, more so aromatic. Starts out quite fresh masculine aquatic, salty, fresh ocean breeze. (As a feminine fragrance wearer, I was taken aback, how could this ever be unisex...?) Second phase is woody, like dried driftwood, reminds me of sandalwood, even though it's not in the notes. Third phase, 2.5 hours in. This is where it stays for me for the rest of the longevity. Going into the aromatic territory. Very well blended, I can smell the freshness of eucalyptus, slight floral, saltiness. Absolutely agree with a previous comment about Womanity, they are in the same realm. This is where I fall in love with this perfume, and I think this would be suited not just for men but women too. I have a scent memory of a wooden cabin, early autumn when the sun is still shining during the day, but the mornings are dewy, a bit chill. Therefore to me this is not only a great summer but fall perfume too.

IMO Pioggia Salata smells like a rainy warm summer day in a smogy town. I wish I could like it because the previous reviews made me interested in this frag. My chemistry works better with Profumum ADS.

More and more I fall in love with the works of this niche house, namely the works. This fragrance is beautiful. I would take it to fresh fragrances, but not to luxurious fresh ones, no, this is exactly the fragrance of a fresh, moist wind and most likely there is a sea wind. In the pyramid, only one note scared me — algae. It was her that I felt, but how beautiful it sounds here! This scent reminded me a lot of things, and I remembered, eau D'Italie - they are similar in autumn, although in my opinion they do not have a cross note, this is a paradox of course. Aroma tested now - December-Moscow-rather cold outside. I sent the parcel at the post office and I had to fill in the customs declaration (for the international parcel), I wrote 'perfumery'. The girl operator looked and asked: "it smells like that from a parcel ???", I say no, it smells like me!;)) From which I made a conclusion - quite a loop! And lastly I asked the operator, but does it smell good or ....? To which she replied, sooo well, from you breathed freshness! ;) it is damn nice when you make sincere compliments to the perfume, do you agree? I do not know what the fragrance is in spring and summer, but now he is really handsome. I would also like to add - for me absolutely no powder in it, and I have not powdered the skin, it is very surprising that it gives powder on different people .. Although why it is surprising, because it is selective, and perfume selection is real Art. My rating for this fragrance is the highest 10

This is interesting but not my kind. I was curious anyway, so I tried it both on paper and my skin. Honestly I wish I didn't put it on my skin, because I had to endure the scent for at least 2 hours. Not bad, but not really the way I like to smell. Yes, it's synthetic, but I doubt that anyone on this earth ever managed to capture the sea smell and put it in a perfume bottle. Since marine/ozonic/acquatic was invented it was always by lab stuff. I'm not much into that family, unless they really show beautiful flowers together. Unfortunately this is not the case. I don't care much for flowers here. I like the salty edge, because it's fun to smell, yet the wood and marine together smell like... well, you know what happens to a wood trunk kept in salt water. It smells a little putrid, not stinky, but not very appealing as a perfume on your body. If I want a mixture of soapy amber sligthly marine, I'll stick to old L'Artisan L'Eau d'Ambre.

“Tears are ice that melts in the soul” -H.Hesse- Pioggia Salata wants to represent the journey of a drop of water, which takes on increasingly characteristic scents: I saw in it what a tear does. A crystalline, almost understated start, which then takes on initially flowery tones (when it falls from our eyes) and then becomes salty (I see it as it falls on the lips, and we feel the flavour). Everything goes out and becomes flowery, clean again, representing a sort of redemption. A liberating cry, which cleanses the soul of pain, which cleans us. Beautiful fragrance, I would really love to wear it. Medium sillage and persistence, to be worn on any occasion, it gives me peace of mind. “ Larmes d’or” painted by Anne Marie Zilberman.

I can feel salt on my lips, as after having been swimming in the Mediterranean Sea, and a hot wind is drying the remaining drops to small salty circles on my skin...The minty eucalyptus enhances the thurst sensation I feel... Well, OK, I stopp dreaming, is hard winter in Central Europe where I live... The perfume was actually created with Atlantic components, but in winter it's nicer to dream about warm sea. Another picture would be Atlantic coast with stones and rather cold wind high waves and rain, dead weed and wood floated ashore, let's better go in some Galletterie and have some cidre and crepes (Bretagne)!! Very well blended scent, where the seaweed is enhancing perfectly the marine salty feeling!

That’s Italy. Mrs. Casoli’s Pioggia Salata is a delightful painting of the Mediterranean breeze. Her unique sensitiveness describes something untouchable but so true. A summer scent that’s really elegant and perfect for many occasions. Every note lives in a garden near the sea. It’s not an oceanic and wild wind, this is the Mediterranean sea. This is Sardinia but also Liguria. I totally agree with the other positive and beautiful reviews. I’ve tested and I own many marine fragrances, but this is the most charming one. A precious gem! I'm speachles, simply dreaming!
