Freak

The Bottle: I love Freak's bottle in that its design is sleek and edgy. The cute little silvery snail at the top adds a playful pop to the otherwise femme fatale look. As another user mentioned, the box it came in has a gorgeous backdrop of a full moon, which looks even more wonderful when the bottle is placed inside. The Scent: The initial notes are a sweet and dramatically floral mix of opium poppy and gardenia. I also smell hints of rose and orange blossom as others have pointed out. While the first notes are dramatic, they aren't overpowering in the bad, headache inducing sense and they cool down after a minute. In the heart notes, I immediately pick out the datura and hemlock, which gives it a beautiful flowery, musty-sweet smell. The scent of hemlock is quite unique in this perfume as it the source of sweet, decaying earthy smell that seems to play out for most of wear period. The datura is the warm, flowery fragrance similar to a mix of jasmine and vanilla orchid. The opium poppy from the first note has also carried over a little bit from the top note, but mingles well with the hemlock and datura. The only part I cannot pick out is the Queen of the Night, mainly because I have never smelled it before. The drydown reminds me of stepping into one of those quaint little Tibetan shops you find every so often in college towns or urban areas. The warm, soft, and smoky incense-like scents play well with the Myrhh. Though I can't pick it out, I suspect the Oud might be a part of the overall incense experience in this perfume considering it is most commonly used for incense sticks and cones. At this stage, it has an aftershave-like quality as another reviewer mentioned, which I personally enjoy quite a bit. Overall Impression: It has mysterious, almost shy quality to it, much like the nocturnal plants and animals this scent is based off. It is a very unusual, but strikingly gorgeous scent in that most of it's charm lies in the mix of balmy florals and smoky, sweet incense. I wouldn't call this a dramatic perfume, as it is soft enough to be worn in the daytime. It would probably work best as an summer and autumn perfume though it can be worn year round. What I like most about Freak is how it balances its exotic, oriental notes with the delicate, but earthy floral ones. Neither one overpowers the other, which is refreshing after trying so many other oriental-floral perfumes. Instead of the florals playing second number to the orientals, both the floral and oriental elements in Freak work together in an almost harmonious manner. For me, this is what I look for when I want an oriental-floral fragrance (If I wanted a mostly oriental scent, I wouldn't bother throwing in florals in the first place!). I am very happy that I went out on a limb and pre-ordered this as it is exactly what I was looking for.

I really wanted this perfume to be "above average" . The adverts "spoke" to me , i expected a strong , dark and mysterious fragrance of good quality. I set out to get hold of a sample , and told myself i would save up for this treat....The bottle is adorable and if it had been a bit cheaper i may have bought it "blind". Ive loved and worn Poison ( the vintage , not the weak wishy - washy reformulation) for a lot of years. A lot of my friends hate it and it makes them sneeze or feel sick. Hence "Poison" is mostly worn indoors , alone , for myself. I was hoping "Freak" may be a modern substitute Poison - Something as strong and unique , without been "too 80s" or sneeze inducing :) I was very kindly sent some samples by a fellow fragrantican - Thankyou ! XXX 3 weeks since receiving the samples i waited to test , as i had a bad case of flu and wanted to wait until my sense of smell was back to 100%. During those 3 weeks i was very tempted to spray , but thought these testers are to rare to waste! Well i finally tested it and yes , its a nice fragrance. But just "Nice". A little bit floral , a little bit Oriental , nothing out of the ordinary at all. I agree with others that are disappointed. The juice does not live up to the image the advertising campaign and the bottle project. Nothing Gothic , different , noir , night , dark or poisonous , or "Freaky" here ...at least not to my nose. I think with the price and limited distribution , this scent is aiming for the "Niche" market. 2nd disappointment - The scent doesn't last. Id expect better at Niche prices. Ive got Bog Standard high street frags that last longer So , to sum up - A "Nice" scent , but nothing special at all. I could get a 1000 other "just nice" scents on the high street for a 1/3 of the price of "Freak". Out of interest i got a few friends ( who are not fragrance mad) to look at the advertising , then sniff. The feedback i got was they were expecting something - "stronger" " more seductive" " more unusual". Hmmm. SUCH A Shame this is a negative review , as i wanted this to be something special and to treat myself. Also its a shame as another member had gone out of there way to send me the testers . ( there not impressed with the scent either BTW) FYI -The make up from the same brand is very good BTW. ( i still want that bottle , but ill get a empty one of ebay n save my £££s for s better frag). ****Next on my list to try is CoutureGuru's recommendation of " If you want something really freaky - try "Stephen Jones" ****

Well I finally received my long awaited sample of this today from surrender to chance...&& well I don't hate it I actually quite like the juice...it hints at that vintage-esque perfume smell but with a modern edge...but agreed this stuff is sooo weak to be EDP! I'm hoping that this isn't some watered down crap from this site && what I'm smelling is the true scent I don't think it is but I'd hate to be judging it from what I'm getting if its not... anyways from what I am getting is a fairly nice/ safe light floriental yeah I do kinda get that men's aftershave smell but IMPO I think it hints more to the fem. side && it actually reminds me of...ok I'm Italian (big family) that scent like one of my great aunts would smell like when I hug them at a family gathering..hence the vintage type smell...hey I'm glad I got to try it. Will I be springing to purchase a bottle...probably not..would I mind receiving it as a gift...not at all :) In all quite a nice scent, the expected dark && freaky meh...not so so much but it's still something different to experience, what's funny is on me it smells more fem., but on my mom it smells more manly (the a/s smell) maybe that's what makes makes it freaky?! haha idk.., like a previous user stated a little decant is about all I can recommend too though due to its weak longevity && poor sillage, unless you can't resist not owning the adorable slanted snail bottle! :) UPDATE: (9*20*12) I think this works really well if you layer it with something, currently I've been layering it with my burberry touch && I just love the combo I think it might be changing my mind && I might have to get a full bottle now! :)

Freak is fascinatingly dark, smoky, floral scent, however not potent enough to single you out as the nature of the name of the scent. I was hoping for a little freak makeover in this scent but then again how do you freak out a scent? The mix of ingredients did create something freakishly pleasant that I love to smell. It is sort of a beatnik form of reality as this is how I envision the scent, a scent for those who dare to wear black clothes with red lipstick everyday as a form of expression; not a scent for the masses but for a select few to enjoy. From the reviews I was expecting a really heavy, strong, potent type of scent...the type of scent that gives you a headache if overly sprayed. I timidly sprayed this on my wrist and prepped myself for an olfactory overload. Freak was not like that at all for me. Upon the first spray the scent is a sweet floral scent. As it settles the incense and myrrh start to appear with hints of spiciness. I sprayed the perfumes a few more times and had some on my hair as well. It is now night (9 hours later) time and I still pick up some light hints on my hair, very lovely scent. Longevity is medium on my skin...longer on hair and for me sillage seems to be between soft and medium. I ordered the 75ml from Illamasque directly because it was on sale. As hulalulu1234 already pointed out it is Made in China.

This is a gorgeous, sexy, evocative perfume without being too in your face. If you like perfumes that will last all day then this will be your baby and the best thing is also that hour by hour there is a subtle but noticeable change in the fragrance on yourself so you never forget you are wearing it. It is subtle enough to wear during the day in the office due to the floral undertones but also not so in your face to offend and the musk overtones waft in a sensual but ladylike way and will make people ask what you are wearing. TBH I can't really see many males wearing this perfume but at the same time can (if that makes sense?) The fragrance almost makes you feel like you have a spell and are enticing people to notice you and say "wow that smell is just amazing what is it can I sniff/smell you? Lol" It is not a cheap smelling perfume and after about 6hrs you are left with a soft, sweet expensive smelling musk. If you are quite shy this will make you feel so sensual and will make you smile and feel more confident. If you are already quite confident then all I can say is watch out men because you will be enticed into her lair if she is single! Lol xxx

This is new love of my man. Yes, it is definitely suitable for men, because of these night flowers and "poisonous ingredients" which make this perfume really bitter through some time. We like the fact that it is volatile and not boring and that opium together with oud are subtle, not harsh. Oud there reminds me musk in a certain way. Base of it is really balsamic which we love, and yes, aftershave is detectable, too through some time (its good that not all the time, haha). If you want imagine it and want to know better what it is, so it reminds us Strip from AP, only Strip is more sweet and feminine and this could be imagined as Strip version for men :) I love Strip so much, it is my signature for many years, because I can't find better perfume and as my man fell in love with Freak so much and we found them both similar, so we now will make a really fancy and refined couple: Freaky Strip :) Just don't copy us or we will put a poisonous spell on you :P

The beautifully sinister dark purple bottle with the silver snail inching up the asymmetric side whilst leaving a trail of ooze, the name FREAK, and the deadly flowers that make up its content, immediately evokes the expectation of a dark, thick, ambery elixir. In actuality, FREAK is only freaky in that it is nothing like you would expect... This perfume is very green. It is a fresh, dewy bouquet of white spring flowers that eventually deepens ever so slightly at its heart with frankincense and myrrh. This heart brings a little lemon and resin to the predominating top that carries this perfume through to its end, some 5 hours later. FREAK leaves a small, pleasant clean smelling trail that stays close to the body. And, even though this is a "clean" smelling perfume, it doesn't smell soapy. Which, I think is not an easy feat to achieve. Truly a lovely perfume that is more feminine than masculine or Morticia Addams like :)

I love everything about this scent aside from longevity. The bottle is different in that it's slanted and has that cute little silver snail! The scent, to me, is drama in a bottle. That smokey incense is so beautiful, you leave this intoxicating trail of fragrance behind you. I've gotten so many compliments and questions about what I'm wearing and where they can get it. Scent wise this is tied for first, the other being Alien by Thierry Mugler. The lasting power is where I get a bit upset, it last about 3 hours on me at most. So if I'm going out I have to spray myself just as I'm going out the door. None the less I'm so happy my brother got me this for Christmas last year!

I heard about this fragrance on different beauty blogs and so on, and to me it seemed like a perfect perfume. I went to London, and I finally found it, tried it on and bought it right away! I love it so much. It's not a sweet perfume, it's herbal, spicy and earthy. Smells really mysterious. It lasts on me for a pretty long time. I also love the bottle, it's gorgeous! The price is like any designer perfume. Edit: And also I want to call this a unisex perfume, because I thinks it's pretty much as gender neutral as perfumes can be.

Freak reminds me at first a cologne, it starts off "manly". I love it, but I might imagine not all will like it as much. Some have also said Freak is not that original or anything special or even dark, but I must disagree: Freak is interesting, yet safe. It's not so weird you couldn't actually wear it, but not your avarage juice, atleast for me experience is different from anything else I've tried. Maybe it's the lovely bottle! Freak lasts on my skin pretty well and isn't overly strong, yet not anywhere near "weak". I love it.

Smoke and spice and everything nice. Humid, introspective florals, a dense, overgrown glade at midnight...it has somewhat of a nostalgic feel to it, and a presence approaching masculinity, without actually crossing the line (there are, however, men out there who could certainly pull this one off). Perfect for the strong, silent type. Nothing outrageous here. The scent stays faithfully close to the skin throughout the day; only those you let close will also be able to enjoy the privilege of experiencing this understated beauty.

Absolutely loved this one, it's very long lasting too (I could smell it on my bedsheets for days afterwards). Not entirely sure why it's had so much hate, yes there are even nicer smelling perfumes out there but this one isn't bad in the slightest. Love the fact that all the flowers are poisonous, that gave it that darker edge for me (but then I am a dark kinda girl!) Hope that they start making it again one day...

I find nothing 'freakish' about Freak, perfumes with interesting names rarely live up to them in my experience. Aside from that, this is a lovely fragrance. White flowers that aren't overly sweet on an incense base - I get myrrh and frankincense with a hint of oud. It's a 'floriental' on the lighter side, nice for our cold New England winter. Longevity and sillage are both moderate on me.

I see this as totally unisex. It's been a while since I can say a fragrance has knocked my socks off, this did. What a amazing, fabulous, intelligent blend this is. Seriously well made, develops brilliantly and lasts an age. Incense, oud, but predominantly dark flowers belonging to some enchanted forest. A dark, powdery, imaginative deep floral. LOVE IT

Hmm , witchy , gothic , poisonous , fatal brew.Love the bottle ... I have a feeling this will be hard to find in my neck of the woods but i will track it down anyway to test. I love the bottle too !! The way the model is styled in the ad , WOW , very "Lovercraftian" . Anyone who knows H.P.Lovecraft and Ctlthulu wil know what im talking about

Freak is unlike any other fragrance I have used before. Its a very dark and unconventional scent and is probably more appropriate to be worn in the evening. However as this is Illamasqua we are talking about, why stop there when you can wear it your way and express yourself however you wish?

I’m shocked at how many people don’t love this! It’s beautiful! This juice gets better and better with aging, if stored correctly too! It’s dark but subtle. It’s really addictive. I feel the bottle fits the smell of the juice perfectly too. I really love this one so much!

Absolutely addicting. A perfectly robust, gorgeous and exquisite evening fragrance. A dark floral with opium notes. Lasts beautifully through the evening, no headache issues at all. Perfection for a night on the town.

I fell in love with the bottle but stayed in the relationship for the perfume. I love the darkly scent it has and it smells so hypnotic. If I could bottle up the essence of goth, this is what it would smell like.

I just bought myself a 30ml version, Love the scent, very pleasant with great silage and longivity on my skin. However I was quite surprised to find out it was Made in China???

I love how it smells. Kinda mysterious but not dark. The bottle is really artistic itself. Leaves a little "snail trail" when you open it.

Beautiful, mysterious floral and incense scent. I keep getting wafts of it as I move. Smells like the edge of sleep feels, love it.

FREAK applies with a slightly salty, almost coppery, undertone to it. I suspect that the perfumers are trying to mimic blood and I have to say the result, though it sounds iffy, is actually enjoyable. This effect lasts for about ten minutes at most, after which it sweetens up with something that I can't place, but reminds me slightly of coke. The 'coke' leads to the floral heart of FREAK, where I'm not overly familiar with any of the floral notes so I'm not sure which is which, but everything gradually becomes warm, peppery and reminds me overall of white floral blends like those found in Michael Kors Very Hollywood. After the dramatic opening notes I was surprised by the sweeter warmness in the heart scent notes and was initially disappointed, but quickly came to appreciate that the softer heart does make FREAK more wearable. After a hour or so a faint wisp of smoked woods and musky spices develop, and hides the sweeter jammy notes. The star note in the base of FREAK is rich and earthy, which I believe is the hemlock. The hemlock seems similar to patchouli, but I find patchouli too heavy and cloying, whereas I don't have this problem when wearing FREAK. The hemlock gradually overtakes the floral notes one one, so after a few hours the base notes are all I can detect. You're getting what you pay for here; even FREAK isn't as heavy as I had been expecting, it does wear well. I apply it in the morning and can still smell it at the end of the day. I sprayed some on a scarf, which I then used to line a drawer and I get a nice draft of fragrance whenever I open it a month later. FREAK was made for evening wear, but I did happily wear it during the day over the colder months, as although it is a noticeable fragrance I don't find it cloying or irritating. But admittedly now that it is lighter and starting to warm up, I stick to using it for special occasions because I find it a 'statement' fragrance and a bit too much for day to day wear.

Firewood and orange blossom is what I get from the start, a very interesting combination. Cool but warm in a way, and totally unisex. It's got some kind of aftershave thing going on which I like. The drydown is more flowery, but not flowery in a flirty or girly way. It resembles nature in its true form, something rots while something else blooms. I definitely sense the opium/poppy, if you've smelled the white liquid that seeps from the seed pods you know exactly what I'm talking about. I also get a light whiff of something thick and honeylike, intensively animalistic but still flowery. It reminds me of lilies but it isn't, I'm not really sure what it is. I'm not familiar with some of the notes in this perfume, so here I've got a blank space. You're so welcome to fill this one in for me in case you understand what I'm reaching for. It all wraps up in an elegant humming of incense. All in all, the scent is airy and nocturnal, a bit melancholic and very beautiful. It definitely resembles Illamasqua. I can't think of anything similar, at least from what I've ever smelled. Fantastic!

When I first tried this not long after it was launched I couldn't stretch to a like. I could barely smell it! It does indeed come alive with your body warmth. Incense is very evident followed shortly by the datura and opium. A drug induced sleepiness. Then you gradually pick out the myrhh and other resin notes. There is a sweetness at the back which is from the queen of the night cactus flower. Further down the timeline and I get the dry slightly bitter green wormwood note. It's actually quite a dramatic olfactory creature of the night. It finishes developing as a fresh, bitter green, slightly smoky resinous scent. Its perfectly named. Im glad I tried it again. Ok so the sillage I'd not good in a cold room but the longevity is not bad. I'm going to wear this 12 degree temps upwards as I'm sure it will come alive then. ps wearing it today in 24 degree warmth. It really does come alive in the warmth. A shame the longevity is poor. I like it though. It's definitely a bit different.

I just received this one and tried it on. It's definetely not a solo pour homme, but what did I expect? I guess it just IS unisex, but I feel this would be very suitable on most women and some guys. If you're a guy, I recomend trying it out first, or be prepared to smell... Unisex ;) The biggest surprise is the sweet, playful smell that I really didn't expect. From the note breakdown of poisonous flowers one might expect something wicked, dark and sinister - but it smells beautiful and playful. I think that it fits well with the idea of a poisonous flower: It's looks beautiful and smells devine to attract its prey. And then.... :p Guys out there smelling this on a woman, beware - you might be up for a rough night. If you smell it on a guy... It's a special yet very safe fragrance that I can't imagine offending anyone. I think it is very wearable in daytime - despite its dark "night" campaign. Scent 8/10 Longevity 5/10 Sillage 6/10 Design 10/10

This is indeed a floral chypre, a sweet one and not spicy or smoky at all to me, although with a masculine undertone due to the oud and bitter myrrh right from the start - at the initial spray, a little cologne like, this gives a very different impression than in the drydown. Starting with bitter neroli and woods, it dries down, it becomes sweeter and more floral, becoming the older gender neutral sibling to original sweet patchouli Miss Dior Cherie, without losing the sweaty and earthy base. Unique in a way, yet wearable and not freaky or ground breaking, especially not if you're used to spicy and woody unisex scents. If you're looking for a sweet yet grown up woody floral, you should try it.

After reading mixed reviews of this fragrance, I decided to take the plunge anyway. I was determined that this fragrance would be for me, I'd find the darkness in it and make it my new signature........ Oh boy was I disappointed. For the short amount of time it lasts on my skin I found it weak and non descript. It's floral, it's subtle, it's...it's.... no, that's it. Usually, if a fragrance scores highly in 'night' and 'winter' it'll be for me. Even morso if it scores highly in sillage and longevity. But unfortunately, Freak failed to hit any of the spots. My search for a new signature scent continues

I do like this perfume. It's not overpowering, quite floral for such a "darkly" advertised perfume but I still get the incense theme/slight gothy going on here. I also get a little soapy smell too which isn't unpleasant. I bought the first bottle blind in the sale with illams make up & wasn't disapointed. The slanted bottle and box is a lovely design, not that i'm a fan of snails I must say & mine broke off! Dissaponted to read it's made in China. Duh, I never read the label!! I've bought another bottle in the sale but I would only buy it on offer. It doesn't last very long. About four hours on me.

i did own "Freak" by Illamasqua. But swapped it. Amazingly cool bottle indeed. But I still much more prefer this "Champaca" by SPACE NK. Both Freak & this scent is made by the same nose: AZZI GLASSER. The scents are very similar, but this one from space nk smells, in my own humble opinion, much better. PLUS it lasts longer. Is more unique. And best of all = is cheaper. If you haven't got the ££-money for Freak. Try this for less. :) PS: i'm not *in any way* trashing FREAK. I just happen to prefer this one, by the same nose, amazingly talented Miss Glasser <3 .

I chose this as I was curious about Oud and also wanted something darker, richer and more powerful than I normally go for. This did not disappoint. It is a smooth, rich, mellow blend of darkness and spice without some of the bitter harsh, overpowering or sickly tones you often get with these sorts of fragrances. I agree the longevity is not amazing but the drydown still smells great and the reason I can wear this without a headache or feeling overwhelmed is because it isn't one of those really aggressive scents that fills a whole room and annoys people.

I really do like this fragrance although I can't wear it directly on my skin, as it is too much and can give me a headache easily. A tiny bit of this perfume will last all day, and no I don't think it's necessarily a nighttime perfume. It's just on the dark side based on its ingredients and name, but so is genereally its wearer? I suppose so. At least it's a bit edge and rock'n'roll amongst all these boring generic "floral" scents.

It's spicy, musky and smokey and more oriental than floral for me. I think this is a fragrance that radically changes it's smell depending on who is wearing it. The incense a strong smell on my skin with not many of the florals coming through. No sweetness at all. On me, it lasts all day. It reminds me of a lighter version of Habanita and I love it. It's definitely a try before you buy though.

Wow - I've been coveting this for so long, and then just happened to walk past the Illamasqua shop today and was so excited to finally get to test it out! I was ready to go all in on a big bottle, completely unplanned - and then I smelled it. And it's fine. But it's nothing too special. It's balsamic, incense-y, smoky, a bit spicy...and yet somehow, not that interesting.

I was intrigued with this perfume because of the reviews I had read on here and elsewhere. Sadly, the top notes smelt foul on me and my first reaction was to wash it off my wrists asap. I took a deep breath and then thought I would wait and see if it developed into at least a tolerable scent. It did dry down much better but still it did not make me really love it.

I've regretted getting rid of this for years. What was I thinking? I've got the other version (Scarab, not Elixir) of it but it's totally different. What, no blue star balloon to make me feel unwelcome? (That's what it was put there for, isn't it?) What must I be doing wrong? 🙄😘 Oh, there it is. A-holes prevail.

Got a sample of this and loved it so I bought a 30ml for myself. Now I find it a tad overpowering verging on headache inducing and nausea. Sad because it smells so good!

This is not an incense, oud or myrrh scent. It borders on a chypre or floral aldehyde. At the open it has a hint of leather and dries down to a dry mossy floral.

I didn't expect it to be soo floral, but I like it - it's something special. Narcotic, cold bublegummy flowers. It's very very elegant but in a edgy way.

I really like this! The bottle is lovely and the perfume is not "freaky" at all its a lovely incense/smoky smell.It's certainly different but lovely.

Clean and fresh as spring on me, fresh flowers whit a tiny bit of sweetness, no incense to my nose! Def unisex!

It is a really nice white floral, with some deeper and headier undertones. While Freak did not turn out to be the super sultry, toxic sex-bomb I expected her to be, there is subtle darkness, depth and headiness in this perfume. Freak is not a freak, a.k.a. a quirky gothic monster a la John Galliano, but rather it is a pleasant concoction of white flowers, orange peel, candied poppyseed and faint incense and myrrh. The headiness is especially prominent in the first couple of minutes, when the orangey sweet poppyseed paste is dominating the scent, reminding me of my homeland's Christmas cakes filled with thick citrus-flavoured poppyseed and walnut paste. After these delicious first minutes Freak becomes a much tamer floral scent, but the sweet and dangerous poppy undertone remains, maintaining the depth, sweetness and darkness of the scent. It is definitely a sexy and sophisticated scent with a certain aura of darkness, even if it doesn't turn you into Bellatrix Lestrange.

I gave my decant away to my brother. It was very light and masculine smelling. It had very soft edges. I was not impressed. The note list sounded pleasantly poisonous, but to my nose it was boring.

On my skin, Illamasqua Freak is a rather amorphous fruity floral with a noticeable woody backbone. There are occasional whiffs of sweet tuberose and jammy abricot, and the woody note sometimes shares a few common traits with synthetic oud, but most of the time, it's an abstract clean creamy woody floral with a surprisingly restrained sweetness in today's mainstream market. The sillage is moderate to low and the longevity is around 8 hours on my skin. I was initially very disappointed by Freak, as it's anything but freak or dark suggested by its cheeky marketing prose. However, if put into its context being a fragrance marketed to appeal to a young clientele, Freak is indeed very "alternative" compared to most sugary gourmand fragrances put out by major designer brands. Besides its low level of sweetness, its perceptible woody undertone can make it seem more masculine and "darker" than its competitors, but at the same time, its clean floralcy would still provide a relatively easy access and its abstract nature could also be interpreted as "mysterious" and coherent to its "poisonous flower" theme. While I don't find it a remarkable fragrance, it's certainly a cleverly constructed one befitting to its marketing strategy. If you happen to be looking for a clean woody floral fragrance in a cute bottle, Freak might worth consideration.

So far with any perfume I've wanted to try because of desiring the beautiful bottle—I have ended up really disliking the juice inside—and this is no different. Amazing bottle but the scent leaves very much to be desired. I'm so so sad this bottle was not graced with a better juice. First of all it is not potent enough. I sprayed my sample on myself about five times in various places but was almost immediately struggling to smell it. It has practically no staying power. And what I do smell is a bland men's aftershave with a hint of plum. It feels rather masculine. It's not making me feel mysterious or freaky. The dry-down is better but still not floral enough; and at this point it is barely there anyways. The bottle is extremely "me" but the perfume definitely is not. Very disappointed I'll have to pass. I guess I should have known I would not like it because I really dislike l'Agent too. Oh well.

I really wanted to like this fragrance. The notes sounded so intriguing. I bought it without trying it, which goes against my own rules of perfume buying. Oh well, I know better. The opening reminded me a lot of Chanel No. 5. On the drydown, this fragrance reminded me of another fragrance, that I couldn't quite place. It just didn't work with my body chemistry, but I'm sure it will be lovely on those that can wear it well. The longevity and sillage of this fragrance is poor. It stays very close to the skin, so if you like skin scents, it may actually be a good, safe choice. For the price you pay, this just seems watered down to me. I can say I love the bottle, but that isn't what is important to me. I ended up returning it for a refund and bought two bottles of other frags.

Men's cologne with Lots of datura and jasmine. Oud and incense are so precious notes but wasted here. They add nothing to this perfume. I don't think oud is real here. It smells synthetic and cloying. This perfume needs a fresh breath of air. Even it's overly sweet it doesn't last more than 2-3 hours. Bottle is exquisite but scent itself is nothing special infact boring and stealth. I won't recommend this to anyone. If men want barbershop cologne there are better choices and for women who want dark floral again better scents are out there. It clearly shows how the bottle design is more important these days than the scent itself. Yes it makes a great display if that's what you want. Verdict: 3/10

I wanted SO badly to love this fragrance. Alas, I did not. The initial notes are spicy and interesting; they last only moments. What stays is a cloying dry down that is, at best, reminiscent of Dior's "Pure Poison", and at worst, Britney Spear's "Curious": so cloying that I became nauseous, and knew that I could not wear it-- this is what other reviews have referred to as the "aftershave". BOTTOM LINE: A fragrance I was DETERMINED to like because of a genius marketing campaign, and a novel assortment of scents went straight back to Sephora :{

This is exactly as I was anticipating it would be: not freaky. I got a 30 ml bottle for very cheap so no disapoinment for me. The perfume.... wait... what perfume? where did the smell go? Sprayed about two hrs ago, oh well. Some flowers, some incense that is barely there. Decent opening, cheap cheap juice. What is this "Eau de eau".. wait it says eau de parfum... huh?! Ok lets take a look at the packaging. wait whaaa? !the bottle is cheap too, cool design but.. ok You know what I'll stop there.
