I took out a small sample to keep, about 5-8mL. Trust me- there is enough juice left to last you YEARS!*** The strongest animalistic fragrance I own. I really wanted it to work for me, but sadly, on my skin, it just doesn’t work. My skin tends to pull fragrances into spicy territory and amplifies animalic notes, so this is just too strong on me with its cumin-animalic combo. This little cowgirl couldn’t stay on this bronco’s back. I’m not going to hate on this fragrance at all. It’s fascinating! It truly is untamable from open in to dry down, and it’s so strong that *one* spray will last you all day. I recommend spraying it low on the body... in fact, I spray on my lower legs and that gives me enough distance to actually enjoy it for what it is. I used to own a horse, and in the opening, I get strong horse, but not just any horse. This horse has been put through its paces and has worked up a lather. I can smell the leather, and it makes me think of an old, well-loved saddle that has had many applications of saddle soap and leather conditioner. Cumin is apparent but does take a second to develop. To me it really shines about three hours in- I gets hints of dry greens and indolic white flowers mixed with the eternally present animatic elements. Sadly for me, this is not a dusty or dry fragrance. There’s something that gives the fragrance a juicy quality, but the kind of juice I imagine would flow out of a cactus if you cut it.

First proper wearing of the latest release from Imaginary Authors, Untamable, a dry, semi-animalic, leather-led blend with notes of tonka resin, saguaro blossom, Texas yellow star, and cumin. It’s fittingly a bit spicy and floral, which keeps it from leaning too animalic, I dare say, somewhat less animalic than Bull’s Blood, its closest logical comp, in my opinion. Still it’s quite intense, the sort-of-dry, sueded leather rather sharply pairing with the smoother floral and spicy components, making for a nice ensemble, a pungent experience that’s not overdone, in my opinion, and I generally regard myself as pretty selective when it comes to leathers than lean animalic. I’d argue that Untamable is the line’s most daring fragrance since Whispered Myths and Bull’s Blood before, not entirely uncharted territory in perfumery but certainly in some respects it is very new for Imaginary Authors. I really like that despite its provocations, it feels sophisticated and balanced among its contributing accords and ideas. And even though I might find a sweeter leather easier to wear most of the time, I think Untamable is an awesome achievement, something I would wear occasionally, particularly with the approaching cooler weather. Untamable is in EDP concentration with the current standard brand pricing of $105/42 for 50/14ml, still an outstanding value in the current market and one that makes it possible to own so much of this storied house without breaking the bank, relative to other companies. 8 out of 10

i don't want to respond so directly to other reviews of this but i do think if the only thing you can come up with to describe the opening of untamable is "piss", maybe you just don't know what flowers smell like. it smells more like putting your nose directly into a flower lesser-known for its fragrance, maybe not fully in bloom just yet. utilitarian florals. up front i get what must be the animalic notes. i've not spent a lot of time around horses but certainly greater than zero. i would describe it as probably a pretty clean horse. some dust, some once-verdant underbrush, some sweat. as it dries a little bit more, the heaviness of that falls away and the dried florals linger more prominently along with the sweetness of sweat and sun. it does seem to project quite a lot. i haven't gone totally noseblind to it but as i sit with it i need to pull my arm closer to smell it but i doubt that would be the case for anyone near me, honestly. i agree with others in the reviews who say it might skew a little older. unfortunately, i don't think this one is wearable *for me*, despite my liking it quite a lot. if i smelled this on someone else, i'd be really into it i think. if you want an adventurous take on warm, spicy florals while still maintaining some lightness and movement, if any of that means anything to you, this could be a great scent for you.

Scorching sun, red dirt, horse hair, worn leather saddle, resinous chewing tobacco. It all comes together in what at first smells like deliciously warm and filthy vanilla, but quickly expands into a story as you take it in. This scent rings extremely masculine to me and those who I asked to sniff it on me. If testosterone had a scent, I imagine it would smell like this. Although given its "dirty vanilla" quality, it would certainly appeal to feminine wearers too. After testing this fragrance in store with only one spray per skin and arm, I was amazed at how long it lasted. The cowboy endures, immune to soap and laundry liquid. Took about two days to come off my skin, and on my coat, it remains strong even after a solid week. Only 50ml in the bottle, but I can see why, you'd only need about two sprays a week at most. I can understand what people mean when they refer to a "piss" smell, but in all honesty, I never thought of piss until I read the reviews here. It is, however, a dirty smell, the scent of sweat and saddle. Someone who's returned home after a long day's work under the scorching sun. But it's dirty in the most sophisticated and pleasant way. I am in love with the immortal cowboy.

Untamable is an apt description of this fragrance. On first spray I literally said outloud "Wild". This fragrance is undeniably animalic. When I first sprayed this fragrance I was excited to wear it. Then I became a little afraid. Once I decided to wear it to work, there was no coming back from this. I have never gotten more complaints with any other fragrance. I was told it smelled like dried urine and old musty clothes. One person was astonishingly correct and said that it smelled like horses in spring. He said he was like being in a horse stable and a mare peed on the floor. I was banned from being near him for the day. Another coworker said it smelled like racoon urine. I was also given the description of some wild animal. One person said it choked them when they smelled it. I absolutely love this fragrance. To me it smells strongly of indole and tonquitone. At first there is a beautiful sweet and soft floral/fruity smell. Then you smell the cumin and tonquitone. Once the cumin dries down you get a very strong indole smell that mixes with everything else. This is strong, artistic, unforgiving, and unforgettable.

The previous reviews make me wonder if they’ve ever smelled leather-centered fragrances before. This is BEAUTIFUL. I’ve been searching for an upscale (but not fussy) western-centered leather scent for years and found hope in wonderfully skanky ones like Boadicea “Complex”, IA’s own “Cobra and the Canary”, Smell Bent’s discontinued “Fashion”, Etat Libre’s “Tom of Finland” and “Rien.” But reduce the bite, add in more purse and open desert and you get “Untamable.” You get a golden hay-leather upon spritz followed swiftly by a small but indeterminate bouquet of florals. These aren’t juicy. Many people aren’t used to hay notes in scents, so it could be this that triggers them. The horse and bridle roll up at a fast trot (cumin, animatic notes, leather) and then stay through the length of the fragrance, but they’re equestrian- not mustangs. This smells like what I’d imagine Hermes could have wanted in purse perfumes back in the early days of the brand. It’s very unisex and wonderful for both day and night, white tee or dressed up. I’ve easily worn this on public transport and to dates and received compliments.

everyone who says this stinks is lying to you <3 i've been on the hunt for something that smells like the southwestern deserts where i grew up, and untamable doesn't have the parched-sunbaked-creosote-and-dust realism that i'm looking for, but it bottles up the *idea* of the american southwest like nothing i've ever smelled. it's like the olfactory equivalent of a mark maggiori painting. intoxicating, delicious, heady cumin and strong cactus florals and hot, sweet hay with a hint of musky horse undercurrent. none of the piss & balls stink that everyone else seems to pick up on. i think maybe you just have to have the right body chemistry for animalics to be able to wear this. but watch out: it's STRONG, the projection is immense, and it'll last through a shower. i apply it a full 12-24 hours before i'm gonna go somewhere to give it the chance to settle down. (personally, i think it smells best sprayed on clothing that's left to sit in a corner for 3 days before wearing.)

Absolutely filthy. Sweet like sweat and dirt and dehydrated piss fucking lord. I love it. The only leather I'd imagine smelling like this are beat to shit, needs replacing, chaps. An old friend of mine got lost in the desert riding his mules for over a week and this is just about what he smelled like at my doorstep. There is some dry, green, brush like florals blooming in here it's so comforting as a desert dweller. I really dislike cumin in fragrance but this musty, human, bodily facet it has is incredible. On open, so vividly, I see clumps of red dirt mud caked onto horse hooves and boots. It dries off quite a bit but retains some damp heat. Some sweaty, gross humidity that I find so alluring. Love love love. IA surprises me again. Also! Note of caution. This stuff projects like nothing I've tried in the past. I had to step out and away from the spot I sprayed it in for fear of choking. How fun is that.

I will defend this slightly gross perfume to my dying breath. Is it a bit too strong? Does it smell like you rolled in a lot of mud and a tiny bit of urine? Yes and yes, but it's got soul. It's like the movie Spirit: Stallion of the Cimarron in a bottle. The scent of freedom and hard work, as cheesy and patriotic as that sounds. At first you smell the leather, then the cactus a while later, and then it dries spicy. The cactus fruit is my favorite part, being something I don't smell often. It also resonates pretty far, while you need to be closer to smell the leather and spice. thesuperultra (a handful of reviews below this) put it perfectly; "it’s a very dirty horse fragrance and it’s not to be confused with cowboy. you’re getting the horse, the whole horse and nothing but the horse." And I LOVE being the horse. Neigh. 🐎

i have no idea what the people who say it smells awful are smelling, this is one of my favorite fragrances. and i've gotten compliments wearing this fragrance so i know it's not just me. it's sweet and vanilla-y without being overly so, and there are undertones of honey. it leans masculine and is definitely on the older side but it's tasteful, mature but not grandpa vibes. it is strong and very long lasting, one spray will last a full day easily and you can still smell it on the skin into the next day. for me this makes it a good value since you don't need to use much to get good coverage. it leans fall/winter to me but i think it is versatile enough to be a good year-round scent, and i would recommend it to anyone who likes a classic vintage scent, or anyone looking for a rich fragrance that's not too sweet.

Great scent, versatile, different - buying a bottle. It was that simple! 22/1/25 - I'll add a post-edit .... wore it to the supermarket, twice, in our Summer. Absolutely no problems, quite the contrary. Differentiating, statement making, but in a subtle, dare I say understated, and steadying way; without over the top animalics (care with the sprays of course). Don't bother leaving a review on this if you haven't experience in animalic scents, spent time with them, or aren't prepared to fess up to that first if you haven't. Love the interplay of spice and florals around that earthy , leather base. Grounding alternative to tobacco in the Autumn/Fall. POST EDIT - the more I wear this the more I agree with Patric's take, in his review, that this is in essence a floral expose. Well spotted. Incredible.

pungent, dusty, and extremely raunchy. starts powdery and spicy, and settled to a very animalistic skin scent that stuck to me for days. i showered twice, and was still smelling this on me after over 48 hours. the dry down is very musky and piss-adjacent, like a dirty horse stable that had been baking in the hot sun. it conjured memories of my time at girl scout camp, trefoil ranch in northern utah. i was transported to hiking to the stables on dirt roads, affixing the tackle and saddles, gossiping with my camp mates using made up names, and of course, riding the beautiful animal. i still don’t know if i love it, but it intrigues me enough that it is worth wresting with. this fragrance harnesses raw power, beauty, and disgust, and for that, it feels a very honest and apt homage to the horse.

I guess I'm lucky with how my skin chemistry works with this one? It was definitely more "pissy" on the paper tester but that also might be the alcohol + top notes to my nose. It didn't smell that pungent on my skin. I did one spray and it stayed close to my skin - after the immediate floral drydown, it settled into the leather and floral for an hour or two, and then it got to leather + tonka bean giving it a smell like sweet tobacco. I love it on me but after the reviews I made my partner double-check I wasn't just noseblind and Secretly Pissman all day... confirmed that I was safe, thankfully. This definitely feels like more of an "old cowboy" smell after the first couple hours. The dudes in your life who have strong opinions about denim and country music will like it.

I agree with the many reviews, it does smell like piss in the opening. There is a powdery sweetness from a distance. The animalic opening stays around for quite a while, as in several hours. It has tremendous longevity and the sillage is definitely strong. That said, the long dry down, as it begins to fade, the funk goes away and you are left with a very powdery floral sweetness that reminds me very much of Amouage Gold Man. I have to laugh though, I have a dried down spray on my left hand, and I sprayed Amouage Gold on my left forearm for comparison, and then a fresh spay of Untamable on my right hand. After smelling Gold and how similar it is to the dry down, I smelled the fresh spray of Untamable and the straight up piss smell was a shock! OMG. Lol.

everyone saying this smells like piss or whatever is so overdramatic, sorry 😭😭 another one i smelled in toronto and became obsessed with!! ordered a sample along with everything else they had to offer at the same and i still love it just as much as i did the first time i smelled it!! the floral notes and tonka help give what would possibly be a very stinky, dirty frag such a beautiful, sweet, well-balanced depth. i’ve been told this smells less like horses and more like grandma, which i love to hear. :)

To be honest the opening on Untamable could be a little off putting to some, but to me this is a fragrance that you really need to give that 15-20 minutes to settle down with that said the opening does have a sharp herbaceous and ammonia-like smell. When it dries down it's warm, spicy, very rich and musky. You'll get a slight woody undertone with herbaceous notes in the background. Overall I think it's a really nice masculine fragrance, with great longevity 12+ hours and moderate-strong sillage

Cumin doesn't read as entirely spicy or pissy to me; it's warm body that leans spicy. I do get some florals but it's light and not sweet. Weirdly a little powdery. Very leathery! Like if G&B Purple Suede rode into a dusty, sweaty sunset with its rough and tumble cowboy lover.

I've gone through the whole Imaginary Authors Collected Works set and this is the one that stuck in my mind the most. Animalic but in a very approachable way, floral, spicy, and musty - like the settling of dust from the trail at the end of a long day. Lasts and projects well, which is good because it's addictive - I keep going back to sniffing my wrists. Straight to the top of my shopping list from their collection, along with Cape Heartache and Every Storm A Serenade.

Oh wow. I didn’t think I was going to like this. The reviews didn’t sound like my cup of tea. But I love this house so I bought a sample. It’s delightful!!! It’s a very dry, honey-floral sitting on hay and I’m here for the almost creamy leather dry down!!! Very much an autumn scent. Can’t wait to wear it for all the fall festivities!! Another brilliant work of art by Josh Meyer. I will update about longevity tomorrow.

Im genuinely shocked at how many people dislike this scent. This is easily one of my top five scents. For me this smells like hard work in the summer and the American southwest. It definitely sprays on strong but after a while calms down into something floral and musky. Very wearable in my opinion I wear this almost daily and do get compliments on it.

The cumin & leather are quite prominent. It does have a pissy, dry grass, sweet hay mixture & the drydown feels a bit vintage. Quite strong & long lasting but it does sweeten & get less harsh as you wear it. It's not for everyone. There's something addicting, wild & free in this combination & i love it.

i feel like maybe IA’s more animalic perfumes don’t work for y’all because they don’t fuck with your vibe! bad bitches can appreciate that the musky affect of this scent beholds this very sweet and rare floralness and it’s devastating and delicious

Untamable is a quite good animalic fragrance. I did get some evolution of the scent as it dried down but in general, it basically starts out strong and then gradually gets milder as the hours pass by. In Untamable's case, "animalic" does not mean poopy or manure stink. Instead, there's a definite urine scent that is quite strong at the start but as that quickly diminishes, I detected more of a fur or hair type of scent - horse hair, I assume - along with the cumin. The cumin here is not the sweaty armpit sort but more of a musky funk that makes the fragrance warmer while still remaining dry and light - almost fresh. As the horsey and cumin scents became milder there also seemed to be a patchouli scent that I detected, even though it's not listed in the notes. The leather was blended in more - I wouldn't call Untamable a leather fragrance with animalic aspects but the opposite - an animalic fragrance with leather aspects. To my nose, I did not find Untamable to be terribly challenging and it was quite wearable after it settled down in 15 to 30 minutes. The best bet would be to apply Untamable about a half hour before going out. Longevity was quite good for me - I still had a good skin scent after 10 hours. Projection was more moderate. Would I buy a bottle? Not sure at this point. While I did like it, I have many more scents on my shopping list that I like better. So, for now, probably not.

This was a really interesting perfume to experience. At first spray, I get the cumin, leather, yellow star and horsehair notes. It's leathery, spicy, floral and very animalic. None of the notes are particularly overbearing and there is a very good blend of the spice, leather animalic accords with the floral aspect providing the perfect compliment to soften the strength of the other notes. This smells like walking into a well-kept barn—the animals are in their stalls, everything has been recently mucked and there's fresh hay and feed for grazing. The horsehair note is so realistic and smells like farm animal (without the usual, off-putting poopy aspect). The scent remained largely the same from the open to the close. The only noticeable change for me was the cumin note slowly fading throughout the wear. This lasted on my skin for over ten hours. Overall, I really liked Untamable. This is a pretty strong fragrance and someone told me I was giving them a headache when I was wearing this. It's definitely not for every day but I enjoyed it as I'm becoming a bit more interested in leathery scents. I was surprised by how much I appreciated the animalic qualities of this. If you like either of those qualities, I'd say this is worth trying—just wear with caution.

full disclaimer: i would never spray this and go out. no way. i dont wanna smell like a horse mixed with a beat-up leather saddle and piss. however, i still think this is a great fragrance. its evocative. interesting. lives up to the name. imaginary authors as a house can be summed up in those words, i think. untamable is an unpleasant, sickly little thing, yet it keeps me coming back to experience it. honeyed haybales, sweaty skin, damp fur, dirty leather, a hint of a dry flower bush that this cowboy decided to take a leak over. has the strangely addictive quality of any well-done animalic scent, but with layers of "what the fuck am i smelling" mixed in. now, is it the worst thing ive ever smelled? absolutely not. i think that'd be a bit of an overreaction. its relatively tamer than most fragrances so graciously filed under the *disgusting* category. is it wearable? like i said, i dont think so. but it keeps me highly intrigued, and thats what i love about it.

This reminds me of a perfume that you would find from Zoologist. Animalic in a good way. I really like it. Imaginary Authors perfumes always give me a case of the "feels"...they take me somewhere I've never been before. A floral, leather, with an outdoor vibe.. I'm thinking a ranch in Texas, fields for days, with the blooming cacti and the occasional stand of trees, under a bright blue sky, dotted with clouds... I'm a cowgirl, leaning on a wooden fence, in my favorite worn down shit-kicking boots, feeling so good just to be alive. I REALLY didn't think I would like it at all, but it works. Good projection and longevity. The drydown is where you get that touch of funk and tobacco leaves? Something I haven't smelled before. I'm leaving the house wearing this..not sure how it will be received, tbh.🤷 I don't think I will be buying another FB but I'm enjoying this while I have it. Definitely, sample it first.

Anyone who has been around horses will recognize this as the smell of a hot, sweaty horse standing in a pissy stall. It's an amazing reproduction. Would I smell like a cowboy if I wore a dab of this? Not sure, but my wife made me wash it off, so it would have to be a small dab. I'm not sure what the designer was thinking, but it feels like a big FU to cowboy culture. Does he have some kind of grudge? I also got a bit worried that maybe this was a big FU to all of us and he was secretly selling pure horse urine as some kind of statement, and after wearing it a couple of times I'm still not too sure. I wouldn't wear this in public, but I'm impressed that someone would make this. I keep my sample bottle inside a second plastic container, inside a box, just to keep it from filling my room with horse whiz.

Opens with sweetness and stays very floral on my skin with a worn-in leather undertone carried by the tonka. Definitely a little animalic with dried grass, more akin to an open field with horses, no where near a "barn smell" in my opinion. I guess a lot of people's skin it doesn't agree with or they have never actually smelled a flower other than jasmine or rose. Floral scents range and work in all sorts of ways, they are not one-note. The cactus comes through with some bitterness which, ironically considering the name, tames it a little. I'm a fan for something a little unique and out of the box. Could be worn in any weather but maybe see if it works on your skin first. If your pee smells like this, either be thankful or see a doctor, you might be diabetic.

Rodeo Kings and Queens get ready...this one is for you. Or more like, it is you. This is one that one sniff is not going to really do it. You will need a wear to really get it. The initial blast can be off-putting if you have never been around the rodeo ring, the dirt, dust, horses, etc. If you have been there, the first ten minutes will let you know what it is like. That clears off but the leather stays, for me, the whole time. Now the surprising part starts when the leather clears off a bit and there is a sweet, clean floral underneath. And no joke, a spicy greenness comes right through afterwards. I was pleasantly surprised. This one is art like The Cobra & The Canary. Dang, good stuff. This is a cowboy/cowgirl that cleans up nice. Very cool.

And intense 🙈 Edit: after the initial shock I’m getting used to the smell, especially the strong cumin..I get something melon-like in the opening. Like a very ripe honey dew mixed into the smell of hay.. I think it’s part auf that horse poo accord 😁 which is actually quite nice. At first try I found the Dryden to be very vintage -Chypre like. Now I know what the dd reminds me of: Dryad by Papillon P. A dark green mossy forest with a naturalistic fruit note somewhere in that darkness.. both smell a little medicinal to me, but also very magical. Love

Untamable is a unique leather, animalic, floral fragrance. It starts with a spicy-woody cumin and white floral, which resemblance to the touch of new leather accessories or even animal's sweat. I think it was the cumin that make this scent a love or hate and definitely not a safe blindbuy. Untamable dry down is still a dirty white floral and soft-spicy animalic. The white floral in this fragrance shares a vibe to their Fox In The Flowerbed, but the animalic-floral is a little bit darker. However, I can imagine this is what a cowboy's leather pouch or revolver's holster smell like.

This is exactly what it smells like to be a cowboy. Doesn’t sanitize it. Smells like you’ve been to the desert on a horse with no name. And the no name horse just pissed in the red dirt and the sun is baking and you’re so thirsty. Very musky and skunky and nasty. It’s not wearable for me in the slightest but I knew that when I bought it. The fake book packaging looks cool on my vanity and every so often I take it out and spray it on the back of my hand and think about Arthur Morgan. Or James Hetfield when he wanted to be a cowboy in the 90’s. Or Llewelyn Moss when he’s hunting.

the opening is downright insane. it feels like an airier more green version of bull's blood, which is my signature scent, but when you spray it it has this almost citrus-y synthetic smell that is nearly painful. the dry down is a bit nicer, but it does remind me of some generic oud perfume that my arab father would wear. if bull's blood didin't exist i would probably like this more. it's very strange in a different way... and this review sounds disparaging, but i like scents that make me lose my mind, so that's a positive in my book.

This is wonderful. It's a sweet, floral, green, juicy yet heavy animalic scent. The cumin is what could throw some people of, since it's very potent in this fragrance, and quite sweaty smelling. It is super sweet though. A total overdose on tonka beans. This really gives the vibe of the wild west. This is the type of fragrance to wear before watching a western.

untamable lives up to it's name, it paints the picture of the wild west where there's an expansive frontier and a variety of ecosystems, deserts and mountains. it's dry, a bit waxy, a little citrusy and floral. I like it it's really nice, I don't know why everyone in the comments is freaking out saying it smells like piss, shit and donkey balls???

A divisive fragrance. I should start by saying: I ADORE it. But when my husband caught a whiff, he exclaimed that our dog needed a bath. This is a fragrance built for the wearer’s enjoyment, not to necessarily garner compliments from others.

This one is aptly named. Definitely polarizing. Quite possibly the raunchiest fragrance I've come across. But there is something there that keeps my attention. It's like, it smells bad, but in a good way.

Amazingly macho. Starts with urinous and smoky leather. In the drydown (which arrives quite soon ) it surprisingly turns into a richer version of Lagerfeld Classic.

holy overhated. no way this is as bad as the rating suggests. smells like sweet florals and leather to me. pretty pleasant tbh.

this is a very wearable game animalic fragrance quite resinous but great for people who want a cleaner approach to leather

I bought the full sample set, and this is the 5th i try: This is... different. Animalic? Oh yeah. There is also a lot of florals. There's a citrusy and a sweet note as well. Leather builds up and shows me its face after about 20 minutes. I can't recognise any tonka, but i'm pretty sure honey is the sweetness, because i smell a lot of heney (which would fit the theme), and a "cactus" accord is the citrusy part. In my opinion, the picture on the bottle illustrates perfectly what it smells like. It smells like you're standing right in front of someone who's spent all day working in the stables and is eating some kind of cactus sweet, you're wearing some unisex floral fragrance and the smells are mixing. The smell is Very potent, and Very strong. I tried 3 sprays (as i do with all the testers) and it's overpowering all my senses and giving me a little headache after an hour. I can literally taste it in my mouth. The scent calms down after about 2 hours, but is far from subtle at that point. The dry-down is just beautiful. Animalic, soft leather, honey, and floral. It's no longer as citrusy, but there is a little in the background. It's not a directly good smell, but it's definitely Not a bad one either. It's just a complete experience. It's extremely raw, natural, beastly, animalic, and wild. Like a caged tiger trying to break free. But there is beauty, allure, delicateness, and elegance at the same time. I think this is the furthest from a safe blind buy i've ever come across. Wear time: Casual, and for very specific ocations. Time: Fall, winter, and spring. day or night. Who it's for: Masculine leaning, but very much unisex, and not youthful at all. I don't see a 20 year old wearing this. A warning: This doesn't come off. I 3 days 3 showers, half a dozen scrubs, and perfumed lotion later, and i can still pick up the honey... Persona score: 6.25/10. I don't think it's a very wearable scent for me. But i'd love a bottle for the experience. I bet wearing this outside in winter could be amazing. Or, watching an old western while wearing this would immerse me into the movie like never before. And, the right woman (or man if you like them), may just be captivated by a scent like this, and it will draws her in to you. Nobody will smell like you, and she'll remember you. No doubt about that...

Straight outta the gate, it smells like leather. Leather/4H barn at the county fair. I was scared. But my methodology is to try it on my actual skin so I can get a sense of how the scent plays with my skin chemistry, & to tough it out for at least a few hours so I'm not misled by those initial topnotes, which can be deceiving. The barnyard animal smell dissipated fast, but the leather hung around for at least half an hour. I smelled like a shoe store, minus the rubber soles. & then the sweeter scents began to emerge. I was catching a really lovely floral, & a mellow honey/melon scent, braced with just a hint of spice. I love how perfectly gender-balanced it feels, this would smell flawless on any gender presentation. The spice & the leather keep it from being too sweet, but the floral honey drydown keeps it from being too masculine. Ultimately this is not the fragrance for me, leather is just not my thing, but a leather lover who is curious about a very refined floral, or a floral lover who wants to take a chance on leather? This could be just the ticket. Just try not to judge it by first whiff, & give those topnotes a chance to fade a bit before you enter a crowded room. Unless the crowded room is a horse stable or something.

i will say that i am part of the collective that doesn’t get straight urine from untameable. for me the fragrance is dusty and sits at the back of your nose as if you’re sat in your neighbours’s house and they have four cats and a refusal to open a window. animalistic is definitely the better way to describe this fragrance, it’s a very dirty horse fragrance and it’s not to be confused with cowboy. you’re getting the horse, the whole horse and nothing but the horse. imagine wading through a barn on a muggy day: it’s sweaty and heavy and you can’t get a break from it. finally do not mistake the cumin and floral stems for brightness. unfortunately, or fortunately if this is your thing, it’s just dusty and dry. overall not a fragrance for me but i can see why people would like this. perhaps you grew up around horses and worked the stables? maybe you have a more mature nose for being taken back to a time when sitting in a saloon was the only appropriate pass time and daily showering was not possible due to a lack of access to hot water. either way, if this is for you the it’s for YOU. i see the vision but i wouldn’t expect a lot of compliments.

🌵 Notes from the Wild (Side of Austin) 🌵 When I first spritzed this supposed homage to "Untamed" Texas, I was expecting a bold cowboy swagger, maybe even the sweet creak of a saddle under a fiery sunset. What I got instead? Picture a humid back alley in downtown Austin—one where the aroma hits you like a less-than-welcome surprise after a long night out. It opens strong with, let's say, “urban animalic” notes that give a whole new meaning to down to earth. Unique? For sure! If you're patient (and brave), you might get a glimmer of that raw, cowboy spirit by the time it dries down. But beware: it's less rugged horseman and more "Did someone forget to hose down the hitching post?" It’s a scent journey that might lead you to question yourself—and your nose—with each inhale. I can't say I'd wear this in public without a backup bottle of something safer, unless I want to be that person everyone in the room’s side-eyeing while whispering, “Who smells like the alley?”
