Sylvia

One of my favorite fragrances of all time. Immortal Perfumes was my first experience with a truly indie brand when I first started collecting fragrances, and what a first. Spicy, warm, inviting, there’s a slight sweetness to this that makes it absolutely melt into my skin. Sylvia Plath is my favorite author and her poetry especially speaks to me on a deeply personal level and this scent speaks to that same depth Plath achieves. It’s so hard to find a scent unafraid of being a little dark and spicy in the mainstream market, and I reach for this year round. I also have Boleyn, Capulet, and Frida, and all are gorgeous in their own ways, but this is truly a stand out for me.

Every time I think I’ve found my favorite from Immortal Perfumes, I find another scent of theirs that blows my mind. With Sylvia, Immortal Perfumes truly succeeded in bottling poetry. It’s comforting, yet somber and contemplative. This fragrance irrefutably captures the essence of Plath herself. Wearing Sylvia makes me want to perch myself in front of a window and watch autumn leaves fall from trees. It urges me to explore the perturbation of my mind alongside my past experiences. The depth that this fragrance has parallels introspection and all of the emotions that accompany it.

I started with a sample of the oil and purchased the EDP, this is gorgeous. The fig adds just enough sweetness to the tea and clove to make it more feminine and the EDP is obviously less dense. This a great spicy dark tea scent. Reminds me of a lighter, more feminine Winter of 99.

I love this so much, when first applied it is a bit too spicy to me but not unbearable, and the fig is also quite strong (my friend liked it and said it smelled like bubblegum), but the drydown is a delicious sweet woody scent that's also a little fruity

it's good stuff. spicy/floral. but her pretty stuff is generally pretty great. nice lady, too.

Revisiting this scent after awhile and am reminded of it's unique depth. The clove with a syrupy fig brings about a scent that is made for a thoughtful wearer.

My favorite fragrance from Immortal. It's deep, spicy, and alluring, with an unexpected sweetness that uplifts the darker notes. It fits the namesake of Sylvia Plath very well.
