Roya Femme

This perfume surprised me a little from the first spray. Despite the name, this is not a typical sweet floral feminine fragrance. Instead, it opens with an aromatic burst of rosemary, ginger, and cardamom - it makes me think of a more feminine Perfumes de Marly Layton vibe maybe? As it develops, it becomes warmer and spicier. The combination of pepper, nutmeg, and geranium creates a refined character that feels sophisticated rather than loud. There is a subtle floral and earthy touch, but it stays centered around aromatic and spicy nature. The drydown is where Roya Femme truly shines. Smooth sandalwood, earthy patchouli, non sweet vanilla, and ambergris blended well enough so it's a bit difficult to differ them. Vetiver adds a touch of dryness that keeps the sweetness under control and prevents the fragrance from becoming heavy. It flows in grounded way if that makes sense. What I enjoy most about this perfume is its balance. It manages to be fresh, spicy, woody, and slightly sweet all at once. The overall impression is elegant, confident, and surprisingly unisex. It feels more niche-inspired than many fragrances in its price range. Performance is good on my skin, with acceptabke longevity and a noticeable scent trail during the first few hours. Skin scent after 6 hours on me. Roya Femme is definitely worth trying. It may not be a crowd-pleasing fruity floral, but it stands out from many modern releases in my opinion.
