Highschool class rooms and PE locker rooms. Coming home from a day at the pool during summer break. Asking your best friend if she has a can with her at the end of a school trip in a stuffy bus. Groups of girls in Buffalo Plateau Sneakers, Spaghetti strap tops, oversized Nike bomber jackets and Cargo pants. Some wear cheap plastic chokers that came as a freebee in some girls' magazine. Others opted for a fake Henna Tattoo - also a magazine freebee of course - feeling like Madonna in her Frozen music video. You hear the faint clicking of some 8210 Nokia Phone keys. The girls don't even have to really look at the (ultra tiny) phone screen while they compose their messages. They know the number of clicks it takes for every letter by heart. Through the headphones of one girl's Discman - somehow four girls manage to share two in-ear plugs by holding one up loosely between two ears each - you faintly hear Barbie Girl by Aqua playing, followed by some Backstreet Boys or Nsync. Just seeing the can alone throws me back like this. I can almost smell it. Cheap, sure. All the better. But also fresh and cheeky. What an amazing time, even if anything but easy. And yes, the first impulse - pun intended - is to wish for a relaunch. But this nostalgia is such a Bitter Sweet Symphony... ;) I somewhat doubt I could bare wearing it. Seeing it here for me personally is enough and such an amazing proof to just how powerful scents are in forming and recalling memories. And while a bit of nostalgia is very nice once in a while, better focus on continuously making new great memories with new great scents for the future.

Wow this is so awesome i came across this site! While my older sister was wearing exclamation, samba and date, I was rocking this thing! I was probably around 12 years old, and loved it so much! It was my first "perfume" ever. I was so proud to have it, I felt so adult and I really loved the smell! It was so crisp and clean, fresh and energetic. I would absolutely love to smell this again, but I think maybe the memory of it is more beautiful. However, if they had this, I would for sure grab a bottle now! My big love-rating for this is of course based on my 12 year old self, as thats the memory i got for it :) it brings me such awesome memories, my room smelled like this too! I remember it as quite citrus apple, fresh but also a bit sweet. Fit me perfectly. I brought it for summer vacation at my grandmas house, and i smelled like this at the beach. Just pure awesome memories and I treasure this a lot thanks for the reminder fragrantica :)

There are two fragrances in this world that I sorely wish were never discontinued. Vanilla Fields by Coty is one, 02 by Impulse is the other. While Impulse body sprays are not strictly 'perfumes', the scent of 02 was unlike any other. Citrusy and ozonic, it epitomised the 90's for me. I smell this and I remember the release of CK One, changing rooms at secondary school, a CD compilation of R and B...delightfully young and happily carefree, when us teenage girls showed off our new independence with a slick of clear and sticky-sweet, pineapple-scented Constance Carroll lipgloss and a liberal spray-over with Impulse 02. Even if I was not so nostalgic about 02, I know I would still love it. It is sweet and fresh, citrusy without the tang, and the musky notes disappear in about two seconds. But who cares? It is instant happiness with one spray.

Impulse 02 throwback. Bought back and is on sale in "Savers" in the UK. This is not a drill. I'm on the hunt. I have over 160 bottles of designer and niche fragrances but I've craving this for months. I wanna smell like I did in the 90s when I'd buy "sugar" or "bliss" magazine just to geta can of this and impulse I-D.

Just had a few cans delivered from Savers, and I am now firmly back in my late teens....if only I could actually time travel!!!!! Sooo good to smell this again, and pleased to find that I still love it!

O M G ... they brought it back! But not in my country :( I would absolutely love to smell it again, hope it arrives here too, I would for sure purchase for the memories :D

This whole thing; the scent, the colour, the font, it just epitomises the 90s era. If you live / lived in the UK: think Changing Rooms painting someone's formerly tasteful living room lime green with zebra stripes, new Labour, the Spice girls, that pre-millennial vogue for Far East style (Zen, Feng Shui etc), belly button piercings, Billie Piper. Oh! I remember the misty air full of Impulse in the changing rooms at school too. There would inevitably be the comparisons of who had which Impulse bodyspray. The standard was Vanilla Kisses (not listed here), O2 with its zingy citrus blast, was a bit more hip, a bit more Zen. I remember I lent my can of O2 to someone who really didn't like me, purely out of desperation to get on with that person. She ended up sneakily swapping my full can for her nearly empty one. I didn't say anything and learnt some life lessons: 1. some people will never like you or get on with you, no matter how kind you are. 2. never lend anyone your Impulse bodyspray 3. always mark your Impulse bodyspray can on the bottom with a combination of distinctive nail polish colours so it can easily be identified in a court of law. Sad but true!

I was poking around the bathroom cupboard at my mum's house while visiting and the can of impulse Alive caught my eye. It was a favourite of mine, and has been sitting in the cupboard forgotten for at least 20 years. It's still smells the same and so full of high school memories. I used to spray myself all over and I had a few people tell me they recognized me from the scent trail. I can hardly believe this ancient half full can still smells so amazing. Perfect solution to the scorching hot Australia summer.

I used to love this and when I saw it in Superdrug for £1.20 I couldn’t resist! To me it smells exactly the same, it did take me back to being about 15, but it’s still good, citrusy and fresh! It doesn’t last long, but can’t really complain for the price.

This was the scent of my early teens! I'm so glad this has finally been added to the database. I will never understand why this was discontinued. So fresh, uplifting and carefree. Wish I could smell it again.

This has been relaunched and part of me really wants to get it but another part of me thinks I'll cry. I have a very strong memory of wearing this in the summer holidays when I was about 9 or 10. I can actually see myself walking into the swimming baths, having a great day with my friends, coming out and spraying myself with this. It was the last year or two of my childhood being great, before everything changed 😔 Smelling this would take me right back to then but obviously not properly and I'd be sad about it. I probably will get it though. Scent wise it was fresh, green, appley, not totally childish considering I was a child. I remember it being really popular at the time.

I saw this in Superdrug as a part of a relaunch ‘throwback’ range, and immediately grabbed it! The can isn’t the same sleek (can I use that word when describing a cheap body spray??) and looks cheap (it is, but you know what I mean). Yes it smells like it used to, kind of, but it feels like they’ve added some notes (I’m sure I can smell Free Spirit mixed in) and the green notes which made this scent so unique, have been dumbed down. Maybe my nose has changed since the 90’s too, which would make sense. It’s cheap and nice enough, but not the nostalgic experience I was hoping for.

Oh I'd love to smell this again for the memories. Not sure if it represents something good or bad though. This was one of those 'in' things that we all had to have. It smelt really nice, lemon and lime, refreshing. Although it kind of makes me sad, remembering this narrow range of possessions we all needed to fit in. Certain shoes, bag, stationary, hair bands, lipstick and body spray etc etc. I hope teen girl culture has changed a little.

Just picked this up from savers. Was so excited as this was one of my favourite impulses in the 90s, along with vanilla kisses and zen. It smells almost exact same as the original, but today's one has freesia and the 90s one didn't. It did take me straight back to my teenage years when I smelt it, but like all body mists now it only lasted minutes. So sad as this was long lasting back then☹️

The smell of the girl's changing sheds after phys-ed circa summer of 1997-98 citrusy limey faux note of eternity and a few other 90s classics rolled into a cheap deodorant spray aimed and the late 90s teenage girl. But unfortunately used to mask the smell of sweat. Sorry but not a good memory for me.

Impulse O2 has been re-released! (So has Impulse Air) It's only £1 at Savers, I've just sent my husband to go buy me a bottle! I can't wait to try this, it's supposed to be exactly the same as the original, so fingers crossed it actually is.

The girls used to spray this after lunch when they had been running around playing sport, I dint like the smell of this, it's too warm sweat ish, especially when mixed with actual hot body heat.

That was my first Impulse body mist since 11, it was refreshing, in Australia it is known as "Alive" with this citrusy and fruity scent.

Missed this smell sooo much....... :(
