Just got an 8ml decant of this, so lovely. A fluffy dark rose, green stem and a little spice, a hint of the birch tar. I will probably get a full bottle at some point, as I love rose fragrances.

Accidentally discovered last week at Esxence.. can't wait for it to be available. A deep, dark rose wrapped in a smoky floral accord. A good find!

Intrigued by the recent article on the Fragrantica front page, I just had to sample this. Yes the rose's presence is definitely felt, but to my nose it is not the main character. Neither is carnation. Both floral notes are overtaken by the birch tar note. Still, it's bewitching! Soo dark and mysterious, and thankfully no oud here. I'm glad to have it in my toolkit of perfumes. The potent birch tar note is somewhat enlivened by the blackberry and myrrh, and a velvety rose note does come through, but there's a definite "don't mess with me" seriousness here. It's not loud, but very heavy. Solemn. Over time it does lighten up a bit and get a little more sweet, but barely. Definitely a winter fragrance, and even then, evenings only IMO. It requires the cloak of a cold night to really shine. Or just wear this anytime you want people to feel just a little intimidated by you, but unable to pinpoint why.
