Wise Plum

Picked up a traveler when visiting the lovely retail store in Brussels. A very nice owner and pleasure to talk to. Anywho, have worn this now and again since and recently realized I have never reviewed it. Unlike most of my completely blind reviews, I'm fairly familiar with this fragrance. Overall, I enjoy it from time to time for its warmth and length, however, it you do happen across this the opening and the dry down (throughout the day) are two sides to the same core being. The opening is dark fruit sweet, with an undercurrent (no pun intended) funkiness that may make one suspect oud over tobacco. The sweetness is a bit rich for me, but give it 30-40 minutes and you'll get its other side. This dark and warm fuzziness carries the shadow of the sweetness, but now in the background, taking second to what feels like is a slightly off woodsy feel in the most humbling way. I really get no tobacco at all. If so, it is slight. Much like the change from opening to all day is it's projection. I would categorize this more as a skin scent, but the opening is larger and calms to more there upon a whiff. It does give the sense of, let's stay inside and have mulled wine while we enjoy each others sweater cuddles, over go out and play. It's just playful enough to be flirty, but sophisticated enough to do so wisely.
