My Ju-Ju

Personally, l love the scent! it is unique, it is bold and ready to stand out. l love the fact that new notes emerge during different stages of the day (God knows that l am totally captivated by the hint of powdery and vanilla notes) People might have different opinions, but do remember, its not supposed to be for EVERYONE. If a scent was meant for everyone, you would all smell like dull species :) Ps. l adore the name for the fragrance.

It’s so interesting to see how this perfume smells differently for different folk, on me this is a beautiful billowing gourmande bomb. It lasts for over 12 hours and is both enticing and smooth. Not cloying but huge.

smokey opening, but quickly dries down to a warm, round, soft vanilla. to me the vanilla and tonka bean are the most noticeable, with some musky undertones. it's like a soft but grown-up vanilla.

I’d categorize My Ju-Ju as a nostalgic childhood scent- youthful, almost infantile, fluffy and innocent. It smells like hairspray in the opening and plastic dolls, like the powdery vanillic rubber that childhood toys are made from. Personally, I collect these type scents, but I realize most people don’t want to smell like plastic. I totally see how this was inspired by/ designed for a particular child. I detect mostly lily of the valley and Indult’s famous vanilla after about an hour. Overall I enjoy the composition but have a big problem with the price. There are other more affordable scents that smell like dolls to me. In fact, this scent is really familiar to me. Despite sorting through my mental Rolodex of scent memories, I cannot put my finger on it. I will be lurking in the comments to see if anyone else can pinpoint what it resembles, because it’s driving me crazy! Edit: I think I’m smelling shades of L’Instant Magic by Guerlain, but waaay sweeter. Ju-Ju is a little girl, braiding her doll’s hair, while L’Instant Magic is her grandmother applying baby powder to her granddaughter after a bubble bath.

This is a weird one. I can’t say I like it but it’s not off putting in any way.......just very, very spot on childhood doll plastic rubber smells. It’s actually brilliant if that’s what you’re looking for. I’ve heard of many people saying that scents like Loukhoum or with an almond play-doh note smell like dolls, and I was always like ‘yeah, ok, I can see that’. But this???!! This is the scent of new Barbies circa 1982. It’s playing with Barbies while some cookies are on a tray next to you with lemonade. Extremely nostalgic and quite comforting on the right person.....but definitely synthetic.

This fragrance is obviously well crafted and unique. It has sweet vanilla vibes for sure. The florals and wood elements blend together to form a perfect “doll head” scent. It’s unmistakable. This perfume smells exactly like a brand new, plastic doll - in the old sense, the way they used to smell maybe in the 60’s or 70’s. There’s a bit of bubble gum in there too. I’m not a fan of this doll head note, personally, but if you’re after this, you 100% cannot go wrong. I only have a small sample of this one. I much prefer Tihota in the Indult line.

I got the sample of Juju from the official site while ordering Tihota. First time I smelt it, I was like "Ew!!". But after I wore few times, I like it more now. IMO, this is so french, very powdery, vintage-kind of scent. Not in a bad way, it's nice. Powdery but still have some freshness and sweetness in it. Not a complex scent, very feminine. Just like a very elegant, mature French Woman. It's quite unique for sure, but not my cup of tea. For the price, it's not FBW. But it's a lovely scent. Longevity 6+ Silage is moderate (arm-length)

I really liked this when I first tried it, but now, a year later, not so much. Before, I was able to smell the vanilla and citrus upon spraying, but with time, the rubbery aspect has become increasingly potent, and now that’s all I can smell. After about 30 minutes the vanilla and top note trio become slightly apparent, but other than that it’s just full on rubber. Literally makes my stomach twirl. Oh well. I didn’t use it much to begin with.

I’m getting citrus, vanilla, and some florals...but also some rubber/vinyl/bug spray, as other reviews have mentioned. Smells really synthetic. It’s not terrible, but I don’t want to wear my sample again. When it comes to citrus vanilla type scents, I much prefer Lolita Lempicka Lolitaland (for a fraction of the cost).

I'm not sure about this scent. In a way I love the citrus, florals and vanilla together, but at the same time there's something unpleasant about this scent, something synthetic and almost plastic-like. It's especially pronounced in the opening.

I find the floral aspects overpower everything else, and the hedione give it an odd synthetic edge. Nope, not my juju. I appreciate Feisthauer as a perfumer and own some of her other recent work, but this one makes me a bit dizzy.

I own and love Tihota, so I ordered the Indult sample set. I started with this one. Immediately upon spraying I knew it was an incredibly nostalgic scent. I could not place why it was so familiar, and in an unpleasant way. I came here to figure it out. The reviews that say it is scent of 1980s dolls is spot on. I never played with Barbies, but apparently I had enough exposure to the scent - it's unmistakeable. Maybe it's the same smell of the original Cabbage Patch Kids - I did have those, and remember they had an off-putting powdery plasticky scent. Every once in a while I will get a whiff of Dr. Pepper, but it is fleeting. This is a one-and-done wear test for me.

My first impression after wearing Ju Ju for one day, plus this morning when I put it on an hour ago: unfortunately a pass, even though I really enjoyed the warm vanilla dry down. The opening is play-doh and baby doll heads. Nothing more than rubber and plastic mixed with powder. The dry down is lovely and the only time I could pick up on the citrus notes, oddly. Probably a good thing since I feel this perfume is overpriced. At $220 for 50 ml, it’s in a range where I need to really love it to justify a purchase. There are too many wonderful perfumes to consider, and presently Ju Ju is falling short.

I enjoyed the opening of this but once the florals arrive I get the rubber scent No thanks

Horrible vinyl smell for me. I normally love vanilla citrus but this one is best skipped.

All I get is bug spray. Maybe a little bit of rubber. Going to go wash this off now.

A pleasant powdery vanilla. I though I smelled something green in it, like angelica or immortelle, but it's not listed, so I guess I was wrong. Good longevity. The drydown reminded me slightly of Vanille Orchidee by Van Cleef&Arpels. It does not remind me of Dama Bianca.

It’s a very nice scent.. however, after 2-3 minutes it dries down into a less powerful clone of Van Cleef & Arpels “Orchid Vanille”. Longevity is decent at 6-8 hrs. Projection is modest. If you think you might like it just get there other one. It’s infinitely better

Rubber and pepsi. Not “gross” but makes me feel queasy and i normally love sweet scents. I wonder what it is that makes me smell pepsi, its happened with a few scents lately.

Its reminding me a mix between Vanitas by Profumum Roma and Orchidée Vanille. Its nice!

Bug Spray! With some vanilla plastic in the background. I really dislike it.
