Ines de la Fressange 2004

I really need to revisit the back rows of my massive perfume collection more often. I rediscovered her late this morning. This is a lovely fragrance. It's all about the blend with Ines de la Fressange. Upon first spraying she is just very pleasant. None of the ingredients assaulted my nose screaming notice me. I said out loud to myself...I own this and I have not been wearing it? Then the Rose, Peony and Iris notes began to rise in perfect harmony. Hmmmm, something is familiar here. Now IDLF is giving off similar vibes of my beloved Paris by YSL, only the rose is not as sharp, its creamier, like it is warm from an afternoon in the sunshine. Then I catch wafts of Bergamot, Black Current and Neroli once again beautifully blended all working together on one accord, not too juicy, just rich and lush. Grounding this beauty is an ever-present light Musk and Benzoin base which is to my nose is light, nothing to heady, heavy or overdone in the base notes. The base notes are genius and perfectly mixed. I think the base notes might be the hidden gems of the show. I am not picking up much of the Patchouli or Vetiver so the mix is perfection to my nose. This is just a beautiful grounding or anchoring of the top and mid accords. 15 minutes after application I get a scent memory from IDLF of Organza. I really enjoy Organza, but she is always a hit or miss for me depending on my noses mood and sometimes comes off as dated and mature. On the other hand, IDLF is not dated or mature, she is perfect to be worn and enjoyed by all who enjoy Chypre Floral fragrance. She's lovely. Although she has similarities to Organza and Paris she is her own personality and I really want to state she is not a dupe, clone or even close to anything I have in my collection. I'm loving her because lately I have a desire to revel in fragrances that have their own identities, those fragrances that are not widely known or being worn by the masses. She has her own personality, she is stunning, she is easy to wear. There is nothing synthetic or artificial in her composition. Not too loud and definitely not a wall flower. Nice projection, nice sillage. Wears lovely for multiple hours. Stays around much longer than something you might pay triple for. She can be over sprayed for a bolder projection. She also gets noticed in a positive way garnering multiple compliments by both men and women each time I have worn her out. I see her working perfectly in all seasons and being a go to for almost any type of event. She's a beautiful perfume who should have never done time in the back rows of my perfume menagerie! Loving this new find right out of my own collection! Alberto Morillas is a mix master, and in my opinion, IDLF is probably one of his best.

This is such a lovely scent and it was a total blind buy surprise. Ines de la Fressange is a poised floral with its most outstanding notes, to my nose, being rose, iris, peony and muguet with bits of fruity notes rounding out its edges. The fruit notes give the fragrance freshness and originality without making it too sharp as many currant fragrances are, or too sweet and jammy as are many others. The iris is very prominent for me in the drydown, which makes this fragrance more beautiful for me as the hours pass. This is such a perfectly balanced fragrance. No one note dominates so that you smell the delicious sum of its parts rather than any one or two overpowering notes. I shall be wearing this beautiful fragrance often and in any season. Ines de la Fressange 2004 has medium sillage and lasts as a skin scent for a few hours. This is an elegant scent that would be perfect for work or an elegant dinner party.

Roses and powder (I think it's the orris) at the opening which lasts all the way through the life of the fragrance just in varying degrees of softness. I get a bit of sweet benzoin and tart vetiver in the drydown but overall this is all about the flowers for me. Good sillage, average longevity. Definately a feminine fragrance.

This is such a cute & pretty scent. It’s not for me, but I would highly recommend it for younger girls or people who like a light sweet floral scent. It is very pleasant & the notes blend beautifully together. I find it fades quite quickly, so you will just need to apply often if you like a stronger scent! :)

i just got a small bottle of this on a whim. when i was a teen, my friend's posh older sister had this and i remembered admiring her style a lot. i don't think i ever smelled it but i thought the bottle was nice at the time, so i was pretty excited when i came across it. but anyway, i don't know if i recieved something that went bad. the consensus seems to be that this perfume is good stuff and i can't agree so far. while it's just ok on tester paper, it's an awful, thick and very chemical-y mess on me. there is a pleasant warm fruitiness on both skin and paper at first, which is pretty but gone within the first few seconds. i can smell where the rose comes in on the test paper, some of the lily, and maybe a touch of the iris. based on that, it seems wearable, although perhaps not nearly as exciting as i had anticipated. but on me...? i dont know if i had a bad reaction to the musk mixed with everything as to why it's so muddy and synthetic smelling. the patchouli, or at least what i think is it, also quickly becomes very acrid and smoky, overpowering any of the potential rosy accords. not too sure if i ever detected any citrus. but since i tried this on a very hot and sweaty day, i'll shelve her for another day when it's cooler and give it another chance.

i didn't realize there were 2 versions of this, and thought i was getting a sample of the original, but i definitely got this one. i get peony most prominently, unfortunately which almost never works for me. it gets so sour. there is also rose and black currant with maybe a hint of neroli and orange. this is mostly peony and black currant. smells very familiar. not my cup of tea but maybe works for people who like fruity florals and can do peony.

my mummy bought this for herself ,disliked it and gave it to me. sadly as much a loved the pretty bottle,the perfume just smelt 'rancid' on me,so i too gave it away

I found it on ebay, unused, sealed and a bargain. Just got it today, this is pure poetry! I always had a soft spot for Ines de la Fressange, she epitomises class and beauty as no one else to me. This scent is absolutely her- soft, discreet but oozes sophistication and understated refinement. This could well become a contender for my signature. What a happy day!

I bought this fragrance because I was looking for a blackberry scent without the ubiquitous musk. While blackberry is not listed as a note, this smells like summer to me. Soft flowers, blackberries and a little bit of forest (maybe the vetiver?). It didn't have enough blackberry so I still prefer Trish McAvoy #9.

One of the most beautiful fragrances of all time ~ I receive so many compliments!!!!!!! Reminds me of the Catherine Deneuve fragrance back in the 80's ~ the subtlety; the sophistication; the romance. PERFECTION!!!!!!
