Absolute Aphrodisiac

Opens as a sweet woody vanilla with a slightly medicinal aspect to it that dissipates quickly. As it starts to dry down into the heart the vanilla becomes a little floral and the wood a little powdery. The castoreum appears here to my nose as a lovely hint of boozy dried fruit, like those soaking in a bowl before making a Christmas cake, and the creamy amber starts to pull from the base. As it settles into the dry down it develops into a gorgeous ambery, vanilla musk that has a hint of fruity floral. The castoreum brings a beautiful woody and smoky facet to the scent, there’s zero funk for me. I don’t get any leather at all, maybe the slightest hint of suede if my nose goes looking it. The projection is very mild. It has noticeably remained on my skin for hours but I have to wave my wrist at my face to catch a waft of it. But it does an interesting dance in the dry down. At times it’s a soft, smooth creamy vanilla with a hint of wood, then sometimes it’s a sweet fruity vanilla with a smoky wood and sometimes the softest lick of incense tickles my nose. Very nice. The vanilla in the dry down has triggered a scent memory that has been teasing at my brain for the last two days and I finally got it. When I was young, my parents vanilla ice-cream of choice, for a treat after Sunday dinner, came pre-cut in a rectangular slab wrapped in a waxed cardboard. The ice-cream would be dished out and the cardboard wrapper left at the side of the sink to be put into the bin at a later time. Little bits of vanilla ice-cream left on the wrapper would dry up, still clinging to the damp cardboard..and this is what it smelt like. It sounds weird, but I liked it! Absolute Aphrodisiac is a beautiful vanilla and perfect for the cold weather and snow, but it doesn’t get me excited like I want to bathe it in. I will defo enjoy using up the decant but my nose isn’t telling me I need this in my life. Vanilla’s tend to not be my jam, but a perfume that makes my eyes roll to the back of my head might be a yuck to another person, and that’s ok. But I will say it is one of the nicest vanilla forwards I’ve worn so far. And is it an Absolute Aphrodisiac? We all have our own scent memories, developed as we live life, visit places, see people, do things. Things that fire off and excite the amygdala. It’s why our perfume preferences are thankfully so varied, the world would be a boring place if we were all the same. So, for me, it’s a no. I don’t find anything sensual in smelling or wearing this scent. There’s no provocative animalic whiff that is getting me excited. I find it very cozy, snuggly and comforting. Perfect for a Sunday on the sofa. And I’ve been wearing it for two days now and the other half is yet to jump the bones of me, so I do feel a slight pang of disappointment that this didn’t provoke some carnal desire. Who knows, maybe we both got the same Sunday ice-cream when we were kids.

This...is interesting. I definitely do not own another fragrance like it, and I have never smelled anything like this... On paper, I get more of the florals and Vanilla...and it's beautiful!!! On skin, this is very....Root-Beer'ish and dark. Up close...it smells like Floral Root-Beer. In the air from skin, it wafts and gives a faint leathery-vanilla with a kinda clovey tinge to the leather that gives a "Root Beer" vibe? Like the smell of freshly crushed vanilla pods...that leathery vanillic smell....That must be the Castoreum. The sample I had prior to this bottle did not give any of the effects on-skin that this is giving. It was nothing but floral-vanilla with a hint of leather...no castoreum at all. Very intimate fragrance. I've sprayed on 6-7 sprays and the wife has not noticed at all...though I suspect she may if I walk into the room she is in. This may be a good "Workplace Scent" as the bloom and sillage is very small. This feels more like a fragrance I would wear for myself as it has no throw or sillage. First full-wear tomorrow! Update: Full wear of "initio - absolute aphrodisiac" after a few weeks of frag-rest...results: 1. Ample sillage and projection for the first 2 hours then it's a nice sized scent bubble with short trail. 2. Very little leather found...still. Just a "root beer" kinda scent from the leather and castoreum mixing. I do so enjoy it...but I bought this for the "Leather"... 3. Full dry down leaves a scent on the skin that is similar to coffee (according to my wife) Final thoughts: RATING: 8/10 So...this is a beautiful fragrance that is noticeable to only a select type of person. It has very intimate projection and sillage...though it lasts a long time on skin and smells beautiful! The Castoreum gives this more of a "Root Beer" kind of tone and there is very little leather in this for it to be listed as a dominant note. To me, that is a misleading shame. I think that this is a marvelous "Date Night" or "Night at the Grand Ball" type of fragrance where you know you will be getting frisky/close with someone. This is not the type of fragrance you would wear to lure someone in....this is used when you already have them on the hook and want to land them while giving them a beautiful scent to attach to your memory that not many others have/wear. When they do smell a whiff of this on anyone else...they will always think of you.

SCORE: 85/100 Full bottle buy? YES, this is as close as it gets to signature worthy. Blind buy? NO, the animalic vanilla could be polarizing. For the price, sample first. Recommend? YES, if you want to know what deep, dark, sensual vanilla smells like when it's taken seriously by the perfumer. Date night? YES, one of the most seductive fragrances out there. Perfect for winter evenings. Office safe? NO, it's too bold and sensual, and animalic, for the boardroom. Pros: One of the richest, smoothest, and most seductive vanilla fragrances ever created. Cons: Extremely expensive, but just a bit too intense for everyday or professional wear. Absolute Aphrodisiac is aptly named. It's a beautiful, smooth, amber turned into liquid gold. It's warm, smooth, and animalic in such a way that it's absolutely captivating. This makes you magnetic and it makes you feel like the air around you belongs to you. It's one of the best fragrances I've ever smelled, and an animalic vanilla being absolutely perfect wasn't something I ever would've expected. But it plays SO well with the vanilla and woods. ordered a sample of initio absolute aphrodisiac (cause full bottle 90ml is .. a lot💀) this perfume is....... everything you didnt know you want/need until you smell it and then you see your whole bright future. this is it. no wonder its called absolute aphrodisiac. it smells like everything the best, like the autumn/winter walk in the cold night, the air is crisp. then you come home to your mid century penthouse with dark wooden panels and leather furniture and the fireplace is on and the view from your wall/window is incredible. then your partner is there and you are not overthinking what you are cause both of you already got rings on ur finger. you are enjoying the peak of your life and you have everything you want. you look at your lover, the city view, the cosy room, dim lights, and you remember you can indulge in adult activities. you remember you have to wakeup for work, but you are happy-in this economy being employed is privilege. and you are doing a job you like more often than you dislike it. then you drink a nice vanilla latte or bourbon and light a cigarette or a cigar and talk with your other half until your bodies take over to do the talking. nothing is stopping you. everything is as it should be, lagom, but better update: my mother just caught me sniffing the wrist for the past 15 minutes and asked me if im using dr2gs.

🔥 sexy ass dirty vanilla coke vibes, true unisex I personally think. Men and women 30+ if your looking for a sexy ass date night fragrance this is for you. I can see why they chose the name aphrodisiac for this. Not sure where people are getting butthole smell from cause I aint getting it, if your a women and your butthole smells like this your either gonna think im to weird for you or the perfect man for you 🤣 But enough with the Bhole business, this fragrance is beautiful, this is not for eveyone I will say that, but I can see one of them women in the streets and freak in the sheets wearing this, and men that have a party side while being great dad and someone you call daddy in the sheets. Sissy dudes this ain't for you, if you think imagination is the greatest fragrance of all time dont bother your to bitch made and dont even deserve to wear something of this caliber 😆 jk btw, but your probably not gonna like this. Women if you wear fruit salads and flowers and scared to wear something daring this probably aint for you. Winter, cool spring night, and fall this will be magic. For summer during the day personally I wouldnt chose this, but if you get a cool summer night by all means chose this fragrance. 90+°F its a no go for me.

I stopped by Bloomingdale's today. I have a system for trying frags, smell the atomizer, if I'm impressed, I try it on paper, if it's really impressive then I will try it on skin. This one made it to skin almost immediately. Only 3 other fragrances, out of the 200 or so on display, made it to the skin and 2 of those were out of curiosity more than serious interest . On skin AA is absolutely sublime to my nose! How have I never tried this before?? It reminds me of Dolce and Gabbana Velvet Incenso at first (incense, amber, vanilla) enhanced by some animalic undertones. As it dries down, a soft but very noticeable floral accord interlaced with musk radiate off of my skin giving a light soapiness, which shouldn't work with the vanilla and animalic tones, but it does! Everything is blended perfectly and I'm shocked that there are no mentions of incense or resin in the notes. After smelling the atomizer, then paper, then skin, comes buying a decant and if I get most of the way through that and feel the same way, I will be getting a bottle. So far, this is my favorite Initio knocking Rehab out of the top spot. This is too good!

This is most seductive and sensual vanilla I have ever smelled, it’s creamy and decadent so addictive kept sniffing my hand when i tried this for the first time. I wasn’t blown away at first when I tried but later on idk what is so addictive about this that i kept sniffing my hand. There is something an ‘aphrodisiac’ about this . I do smell all the notes and I hate animalic notes but this is so different it just gives it leathery vibe nothing animalic about this It’s like eating vanilla ice cream off your skin This is smooth creamy vanilla with leather and pretty white flowers and some boozy touch incredible smelling concoction Intimate scent profile not loud projecting but longevity is solid easily next day on the clothing Perfect for date situation and Netflix and chill sorta vibe.. basically anytime you want to feel sexy in the night time This is that “s*x in a bottle” Best from Initio, definitely a compliment getter super addictive, can I eat this?🤤 10/10

I'm not going to tell you what notes I smell in this perfume. I'm going to tell you that after two decants, I've finally bought a bottle, and it has dethroned any other vanilla I have in my collection. I'm sorry to my other vanilla babies, but this is now #1. I cannot stop sniffing me when I wear this. Someone below said it smells like "beaver's butthole", which made me laugh, but I can't relate. Although maybe it's the castoreum that makes it smell so deliciously different. Whatever it is, if's full bottle worthy, and made me hunt for a good deal for literally months before I found one. My decants were the newer formulation and they last forever. I wake up the next day still smelling this strong perfume. If any of you remember the Daffy Duck cartoon, you will know what I'm talking about when I say to my new delicious, gorgeous bottle, "I will love him and squeeze him and hug him and caress him, and pet him, and call him George"!!

One of my favourite vanillas on the market, and just an interesting fragrance in general. It lives up to its name as I do find it to be sultry, but there are also times where I find myself wanting to drink the scent too. There is a slight animalic tinge thanks to the castoreum, but it's nothing intrusive or offputting. If the idea of animalic fragrances scare you off, I don't think there's any reason for concern here. I've never got literal beaver from this, but maybe I'm just missing out on the finer things in life. I would say it's more of a personal / intimate scent, as I find it doesn't screech like some of the other vanilla powerhouses out there. That said, I have received compliments on this one in everyday settings, so it may be more noticeable than I'm giving it credit for. I don't have any issues with the performance, as I find it lasts most of the day following application.

There’s a reason this fragrance is called Absolute Aphrodisiac. its doing an amazing 10/10 job for date nights, its a very sexy mysterious, and more.. lasts about 10 hrs so its good. Projection is Strong At the start and then its more moderate and creates a seductive scent bubble. Not for people who want a loud clubbing fragrance because this is more intimate, sensual and addictive. its Sweet but seductive sweet and also have a character to it, I would say this is a little darker scent but perfectly balanced with the other lighter notes, the quality is high and you can feel its a niche perfume. probably one of the best vanilla perfumes ever made . in general works well to many occasions but dates are the best use for it. its perfectly unisex and actually I Would buy this for my Future GF because its so good. this is a 10/10 Perfume.

I find this warm, sensual, a little sexual, and delicious. I know it isn’t a gourmand, but it almost feels like a gourmand, especially after a couple of hours. I prefer this to most gourmands, though, as I find the sexiness of this more sincere-feeling and lived-in than most gourmands. It starts off very sweet, but the castoreum adds subtle depth and sexuality. Four or five hours in, I somehow get a faintly gingerbread vibe from this. It must be the amber and vanilla mixing with the leather somehow. Then finally, around hour six, I get a tiny trace of those white flowers. I don't seem to get much projection from this, but it stays as a very perceptible skin scent for a long time. Absolute Aphrodisiac isn’t breathtaking, IMO, but it’s an absolute pleasure to wear.

The kind of vanilla in absolute aphrodisiac is really a special one. It’s so smooth and soft, but at the same time, you’ll experience these long and smooth (albeit light) wafts of the most gorgeous vanilla. The castoreum and vanilla combination gives the perfume an almost photorealistic vanilla frosting vibe. If anyone knows that smell/taste of the vanilla frosting being insanely sweet and so good, but there’s almost this tiny touch of something a little off or sour or funky? That’s what the castoreum does to the vanilla here and it’s perfect. People complain about moderate projection, but if this perfume was louder, it would be too cloying. 10/10

This is much more complex than what it is listed here !! This vanilla is made as a very complex accord not just "plain vanilla" this is sweet, aromatic, spicy, animalistic, slightly woody, ambery. To me what really was surprising are the spices. This is a woody vanilla like you are smelling a tree that smells like vanilla, if get what i mean. All and all this a beautifull compliment getter, very youthful i would say and suitable for intimate occasions. Longevity: i get over 9 hrs and projection is very close to the skyn although it never fazes away it always stay there and makes you want to smell it again. 9/10, lacks a bit of brilliancy.

I should start off by saying I absolutely love this scent. It's not for everyone since this is a dirty vanilla scent, it blends the softness and smoothness of vanilla with the rawness of animalic notes. I would describe the scent as a provocative, attractive and unique. If this sounds interesting to you, you should definitely try it. However, I have a major gripe with this fragrance, it does not last, to the point where i would consider it unwearable. It doesn't project either but I feel like that is for the better since this type of scent works better when it's intimate. I can not really justify the price considering it's impracticality.

I didn't like it that much as first cuz I smelled pine needles but now I consider it a really nice fragrance and one of the best smelling fragrance ever. In the opening I get kinda a soda vibe like a vanilla coke with rum and then it becomes more sweet and powdery thanks to vanilla and musk. The castoreum it's not that evident so don't believe people who say it smells like beaver or bs like that. Its a dark and not overly sweet vanilla with a little touch of leather and musk with a hint of dark chocolate. I think is a bit more masculine but a woman can still wear it with no problem since it's a really sexy fragrance for both genders

This is such an interesting fragrance to my nose. It smells like 20 different things but then it smells completely unique at the same time. This is the best vanilla centric fragrance I own. Its a smooth, creamy vanilla bean ice cream style vanilla with a slightly spiced ambery feel and a tiny bit of animalics in the background. It is pretty linear, I just get less amber in the dry down compared to the opening. Absolute Aphrodisiac smells like a hot person's skin in my head. It is great for nights and cool weather, I could see this being pulled off in the summer nights when its a little breezy. 9.5/10

Finally got my hands on a sample , and I absolutely ( no pun intended lol) need a bottle ASAP! This smells divine off my skin. And it projects and lasts! Definitely see myself using this a signature scent during colder weather. Update 8/7/21: Copped a tester bottle for an amazing price. Update 10/30/21: Layer this with OFG and thank me later ;). It’s freaking perfect. Now that it’s fall where I live, I can finally use this more on the regular and my lord. It’s so freaking cozy, and sexy, the slight musk makes it mysterious and alluring. I’m so happy I bought a bottle.

So can anyone explain to me why I apparently find the note of BEAVER to smell absolutely divine???? It’s what makes this entire fragrance special. Obviously the vanilla itself smells delicious, but I really think that animalic nuance takes it to an entirely new level. It almost smells dirty but in the best way possible.. completely captivating. This is sooooooo fucking sexy! Pure seduction. The name is literally perfect. Truly truly truly unbelievably addictive smelling.. DEFINITELY one of the best vanilla fragrances I’ve personally tried. Not paying attention to the reviews on Fragrantica anymore. Olfactory experiences are subjective... I experienced a big cloud of vanilla, sweet, airy, not cloying (for me) that later mixed with the smell of tanned leather and a dirty castoreum accent... a big red dot and a small black one on a beige composition of vanilla, soft musk, flowers on a warm canvas. A micro-contrast that sharpens the fragrance... I consider it sweet, not edible. Sensual, subtle, a little bit dirty for a few moments... Longevity 8/10 Sillage 5/10 Cool Seasons Night

I can smell a lot of things here that are NOT listed in the notes. To me, it’s spicy maybe some leather with vanilla in the background. It’s cozy, pleasant, and really nice, so I just had to buy it. BUT the longevity is very poor. I didn’t know that, otherwise, I would have bought a cheaper version. Instead, I bought it in a perfumery where fragrances are very expensive. I tried all Initio perfumes available in my country, and Absolute Aphrodisiac is the best. However, the longevity and projection are a huge disappointment.

Hello my friends 💜 . This is absolute aphrodisiac with the whole meaning of the word. It is my first time that a name of a perfume is so accurate, in my opinion of course. If you find an opportunity try it. It is like a sweet flesh of a lover. The leather with the musc and the vanilla and the amber is so perfectly mixed and balanced that they are all together with no one overcome the other. It's perfectly blended. In my skin reminds a chocolate leather that is so addictive . You have to test it , it is such an experience.

The fragrance opens with warm- deep amber, enriched by a subtle spicy and resinous nuance that takes center stage. Vanilla gently wraps around the amber, adding a pleasant sweetness and softening its depth. Leather appears only as a subtle hint, much like the white florals, which play a supporting role in the background. Castoreum reveals itself closer to the base, lending the scent a touch of animalic boldness and character. The composition feels harmonious, warm, and distinctive!

A very complex vanilla cologne, mixtures of vanilla, with some slight musk and castoreum. I feel that this is the most masculine a vanilla can get and this is why I purchased it. 10/10 comparable to ani but without any citrus or althair but creamier and darker. AA has the beautiful vanilla we all love but adds the masculine qualities with the musk and castoreum that is so rare in vanilla colognes. Full bottle worthy and blind buy worthy. Just make sure that’s what you’re into.

On my skin, on the opening I'm getting cinnamon, incense, cedar, musk. Something sweet and vanilla. I love it but WTH with those top notes I'm getting? The strange thing is that those are my favorite notes. Is this perfume magic?! Becomes very soft and faint on my skin. I get zero funk or barnyard. Sweetly spicy, balsamic vanilla, a whisper of leather, and incense-y, amber-y musk. Leans feminine for me (I am female). Love it, wish it was stronger and lasted longer on my skin.

Sexy. Carnal. Slutty. I dont know how Initio captured a seductive vanilla but damn they killed it. This is Bianco Latte's freaky lil cousin with tattoos & piercings and is the family black sheep 😂 It is frickin eternal too. I sprayed it at lunch time and could smell it on my arm & pillow the next morning. This is one of the most unique vanillas Ive ever smelled. This could interest a non vanilla lover as its so animalic and savory. Its cult following is absolutely justified!

Sex in a bottle. The most seductive, sexiest fragrance I've ever come across. By far the dirtiest (in the most sexual way possible) vanilla scent my nose has encountered. This is the fragrance you pull out when you don't intend to pull out of her. Perfectly unisex fragrance that shines best at night (especially date nights) considering the average projection and performance. Arguably Initio's best creation alongside Side Effect, Musk Therapy, and Narcotic Delight.

A beautiful scent. It is so well well-rounded and balanced. Initially I got a whiff of some therapy oil in the opening (almost like eucalyptus) which gave it that cozy enveloping grounding feel. It started to dry down into the most beautiful sweet (without being overly sweet) woody animalistic vanillin. The smokiness and woodiness in this perfume gives it a sophisticated feel, while vanillin makes it widely likeable & suitable for those enjoying gourmands.

I absolutely love this one. The vanilla, castoreum and leather play an addictive game right out of the bottle. When I applied it I noticed an almost minty smell? Not like wintergreen gum but like a menthol cigarette before you burn it, definitely on part of my skin chemistry but I thought it very interesting. Will be buying again to replace my former fav, FM Promise, this one feels like that but far more simplistic and sultry, albeit a little lighter.

Its very smooth. Nothing rough or slightly animalic here. Just a really smooth, slightly musky vanilla. Its easy to wear. Pretty decent longevity. I put it on at 6:45 this morning and Im still catching wafts of it. It does what its supposed to do. Anyone saying this is barnyardy obviously never smelled it in real life and just say that because it lists castoreum, which I get NONE of. Its If you love vanilla, this is a good one!

It's beyond gorgeous. It's on my purchase list. It's such a gorgeous vanilla and amber. It's one of the most beautiful vanillas I smelled. I don't smell anything animalic at all. It's not a generic vanilla. It has a similar vibe to Diptyque's Duelle. So far, the best vanillas I've tried (and Ive tried over 30) are Duelle, Absolute Aphrodisiac, El Born and Angel's Share. Vanille Fatale is really good too and it's quite famous.

This is a beautiful sensual vanilla leather fragrance. It would work equally as well on a woman as well as a man. I love fragrances like this for evening but as nice as this is, the performance could be better. I don't want subtlety with this kind of scent profile. I have Armani Cuir Noir, BDK Creme de Cuir and the amazing Cuir Beluga which perform much better so I will enjoy my decant but I won't buy a full bottle.

This is addictive. Like sex with a friend that could never be more than just a friend. Imagine smoky leather bathed in milky vanilla with a carnal animalic touch. This scent is a leather couch after its been f’cked on for 3 hours. I want to smell like this at night in a sleezy bar surrounded by the most troubled and sexiest people in society. You need this fragrance like you need full and complete sexual release.

So so beautiful vanilla leathery and chocolatey scent! It’s not a note listed but I smell dark chocolate! This perfume is not too sweet, it’s sexy, mysterious and unique. Love at first sniff! But why it doesn't last? At least on my skin I can barely smell it after 2 hours. 4-5 sprays should last longer! I wish they made a stronger flanker of this. But anyways, this is my favourite perfume from Initio!!! 100/10.

This perfume is absolutely gorgeous! Every time I spray I can’t stop sniffing myself. Vanilla, amber, musk and wood are perfectly blended so it’s comfortable but provocative at the same time. Vanilla here is not childish, too sweet or synthetic, it is just the perfect touch to make it sexy and inviting. I really like the fact that there is not too much of any of the notes, so you don’t really get tired of it.

@Boby1234 The Clone of this has existed for at least the past year...lol. I know it because I bought it. 90% similar to the original, just doesn't project as much in the opening. Lasts as long and trails the same as the original though. But I've only had it for about 2 months...it may get better with age. But right now...it's the most sensuous stanky rootbeer float that i've ever experienced. Perfection...

I smelt this at the scent room in la today and let me tell you about this fragrance It's starts off with a sweet vanilla and it smells kinda like marshmallows, then apparently there's a animalistic note in it, I kinda smelt it and it smelt good in a kinky way idk how to describe it Overall: this is a very warm and sexy vanilla fragrance, maybe I'll get a full bottle soon I give this fragrance a: 9.2/10

The best cinnamon coffee cake you’ve ever smelled! I don’t understand the negative comments, I suppose it’s because everyone’s skin chemistry and preferences are different. But I personally love this one. I’ve been searching for the perfect cinnamon scent for years and finally found it in this one. The vendor at the perfume counter said she hated it, but I love absolutely love it!

This is one of my favorite fragrances from Initio. I smelled it with my brother-in-law, and we both absolutely loved it. I was a bit iffy before smelling it because leather fragrances are hit or miss, but this one is really good. The leather is not overwhelming, and it just smells seductive, warm, and cozy. This is definitely a fragrance I want to add to my collection.

I'm straight but if a guy wore this I would hit on him. This is the most beautiful vanilla of all time and the name could not be more accurate. This fragrance does something to me like nothing else ever could. The light amber, musk, and leather add complexity to this fragrance, but does not necessarily make it more masculine. This is the perfect fragrance for everyone.

Don't let that little castoreum note fool you, this is just pheromones at work here. If you want a dark and captivating vanilla scent that will not only stand out from the normal designer crowd of hypees and fuccboi, this one is going to be it. I've yet to get a full bottle of this one; but when I do this will for sure be in my rotation for those cold, windy nights.

If you enjoy dirty vanilla fragrances this will most likely be for you. It opens with vanilla but on a much deeper level and as it dries down it has a bit of an incense like smell that gives a deep mystique tone to it. It is definitely unisex as I can see both men and women wearing this. I enjoy this scent the most in the winter. Such a sexy and mysterious vibe.

this is beautiful. simple. round vanilla, musky, animalic, slightly soapy almost sweaty sweet scent the scent is cozy, like stepping into your girlfriends room for the first time. as if she was freshly showered and everything was cleaned up just before your arrival. you’ve smelt this scent faintly on her before, but now it fills the entire room. 9/10
