Power Self

I truly hate the name of this. It sounds like what a transformer autobot or robot would say after it is powered on lol. Would've preferred "Power to Self" which makes more sense, but this is a beautiful scent. Initio was smart to create a different clean, creamy, fully musky scent on the other end of the spectrum. The more floral end, rather than the more soapy like in Initio Musk Therapy although it has floral notes and obvious osmanthus peachy touches. Both do share that creamy texture the musk sits on, from magnolia and possibly sandalwood. Comparing to PDM Delina La Rosee, it does smell similar smelling from the bottle, but ultimately PDM is more aquatic, pink peony/rose, and fruity. On my skin, Power Self is more musk and pink pepper for most of the wear. The rose in it is clean and pink, but the ambroxan combined with the white flowers really neutralize the rose from being too watery. After all, this is a musk first scent. The pink pepper adds a pink sparkly spice and there's this creamy sandalwood similar to the one in BDK Impadia that I get, although not listed, making Power Self perfect for seasons that are cooler and not just warm ones. It is musky, sometimes to the point my nose becomes blind to the scent. However, this is what I wanted Ella K Musc K to be, but that one went too floral in the dry-down after the pretty pink pepper musky opening. Longevity is around 5 hours for me, not that great, but very pretty nonetheless. Update: the opening musk can trigger a headache sometimes.

A wonderful fragrance with a name that might throw you off at first... “Power Self” sounds like something straight out of a high-energy, motivational Video (giving that Jeremy Fragrance vibe you know). But rest assured, this scent is anything but loud or aggressive. Instead, it’s a refined, elegant composition that merges elements of Atomic Rose and Musk Therapy, though it leans a bit more on the Musk Therapy side. Unlike Musk Therapy, this has less citrus and powdery notes, making it smoother and more floral. It’s incredibly soothing, almost meditative. The "power" in Power Self seems to come not from boldness or intensity, but from the deep, refreshing breaths you instinctively take after spraying it. It invites you to slow down, to inhale deeply, and in doing so, it awakens you in a beautifully subtle way. It’s serene yet invigorating, understated yet undeniably present. Very unique in it's own way (in my opinion) and a very nice addition to my Hedonist collection!!! (although if you own Atomic Rose, Musk Therapy and Delina I wouldn't buy it just yet) I'm thrilled to have gotten my hands on it early!!! Absolutely worth every penny. :)

This fragrance deserves so much more love. Imo, it is a beautiful fragrance, it's like an airy rose with hints of berries and pepper. Quite classy and natural and it indeed does make you feel good. It is very long lasting. It remains in the skin for maybe 9-10 hours, in my skin at least. Other people will feel this more than you do. It does leave behind a noticeable soft trail. In its opening it is quite a beast and will fill a whole room. I know it's a Hedonist release, but if the dry down took a bit longer to kick in, it would be a 9.2/10. To me, it's still an 8.8/10, just cause it's really gorgeous, unique and you can tell the materials are very high quality. This is a typical feel-good fragrance. If you want an inoffensive, natural rosy scent that doesn't punch you in the face (looking at you Delina) this is it. It's made to make you feel good with yourself. If you want perfumes just for attention though, look somewhere else.

I have this perfume for a year. I bought it quickly after falling in love with a sample. I really love this perfume but longevity and projection is disappointment. I can't smell it on myself after 1-2 hours. It stays longer on clothes if I stick my nose into my shirt I can smell it. I can't do more than 1-2 sprays because I will choke myself - the opening is quite powerful (pink pepper and something that smells like gasoline). Is this suppose to be a skin scent? I also have Musk Therapy by Initio which is a skin scent and 2 sprays last 12 hours on me, I still can smell Musk Therapy on myself it after a long day. I found myself picking something else in my collection and not Power Self. Recently I started using it as a comfort and bed perfume. Oh well

I really like this. I know it's not the most complex perfume ever created but it's nice and clean smelling and just kinda like fresh out of the bathtub scent. It weirdly reminds me of Chanel Chance Eau Splendide in style. You can smell the Initio in it but it's also very different from what they usually produce. I hate Musk Therapy a lot so this is a good option for Initio for a clean scent. I feel it leans pretty femme. I got a bottle but I Def didn't pay no $410 for it. But for under $200 I thinks it's pleasant. Def not a signature fragrance. But like you'll wear your real perfume tonight. This is for hanging out during the day in spring and summer doing lightweight informal stuff.

this rose is so musky and so beautiful. im really greatful to have received a sample of this. i think this is one of those scents that is a swiss army knife, especially for the women. could be worn as an everyday scent, as it is so soft and pleasant. could be worn at night for a date night - rose and musk, who doesnt love that. it does lean slightly feminine but if you a dude and dgaf give it a shot, its worth it. longevity and projection are also great. i dont think at any point of wearing this, does it become a skin scent. projects outside of arms reach for almost the entirety of the wear. i get a good eight+ hours from it. lastly, i find this on discounters very frequently.

Beautiful light rose based extrait fragrance which is quite long lasting and has a decent sillage, especially within the first two hours. I’m a guy and I own over 200 fragrances. All fragrances are unisex. I wore it for the first time today snd received an immediate compliment. Yes it’s expensive, and maybe a bit overpriced, but it’s an extrait and high quality. It does make me feel good wearing it. Don’t let the negative reviews stop you from trying this. I have Rehab and had Musk Therapy. It’s hard to rank them because all three are good. It comes down to personal preference. This joins the other two as excellent fragrances. It’s great.

This is my most favorite perfume from all the Initio perfumes. To me Power Self is soothing and comforting with the beautiful "White Rose" and "Osmanthus" aroma. It is Musky, White Flowery, Spicy and at the same time so smooth andthe smoothness is more on creamy side not powdery. You can definitely smell pink pepper from the start then it's still prominent but it becomes toned down. As for me, I love pink pepper in the perfumes. It is a very beautiful white rose scent and not boring at all. I would describe it as a modern rose version type of perfume. A must have. It lifts my mood when smelling it. Love, love 🤍

Well, it was made to make you happy and no one else. It is there to be discovered. Hence the name, Power Self. I don't understand why people are surprised it's not a beast mode fragrance (god I hate the term). It's a Hedonist line perfume and also meant to boost your confidence in a different way. They did not lie. It's not for everyone. It has a very good projection for maybe 3-4 hours, then turns into a skin scent, but other people can feel it and lasts for about 9-10 hours. It's a very soothing, natural and airy rose scent. Nothing to do with Delina.

I wasn’t prepared for how much I would like this fragrance! 🤍 * It opens with a rich, spicy rose that immediately commands attention. The opening is quite bold and it fills the room. As it settles, it melts into the skin as the most natural, intimate and beautiful rose I’ve ever encountered. * For me, it has been a bottled mood booster lately. Wearing it feels like being wrapped in cashmere and radiating quiet confidence, even if life’s a little chaotic. Clean but not soapy and soft yet unapologetic. It is very well blended and undeniably potent.

I know Initio advertises Power Self as an unisex perfume (I guess it is good marketing strategy) but this perfume screams feminine. It is so soft, delicate, creamy, not overly sweet and non-offensive for everyday wear in any setting. Rose note is not as strong as in Atomic Rose, it is much softer. This one is on top of my Initio favorites along with Musk Therapy. Good longevity - 2 sprays and I can smell it on myself all day. We all feel perfumes differently, but I cant detect cedarwood in it at all so to me it is not "woody'

Please don’t listen to what people are saying here. This isn’t a reiteration of Delina or Chloe or anything else. This is a clean, creamy blend of white florals, pepper, musk and cotton. It’s zingy and soft at the same time. It smells like hugging someone you love. If you like Musk Therapy, you’ll love this one. There is not a SINGLE TIME I have worn this and not received a compliment on the way I smell. Genuinely baffling how people here are leaving negative reviews without even having smelled it.

This smells like a really nice soft hairspray but in the best way. It leans more feminine but I honestly don’t even mind, it layers so well with other fragrances and that’s the main reason I got it. People shit on the longevity but after a 10 hour shift I could still smell it on my shirt, it wasn’t radiating off of me but I didn’t have to dig my nose into my shirt to smell it. I was lucky enough to find it for $180 on a discounter but there’s no way I’d pay retail price for this.

Wow, this may be the next Initio I will be adding to my collection! Tested with no expectations and at first it seemed like a much familiar rose-wood combo but soon enough it softened, it melted like a butter cookie and revealed a true beauty- clean musky rose/floral, very clean and very feminine. It.may be redundant if you own Delina La Rose but I don't so...contemplating. The name however is truly stupid, there is nothing "power" about this fragrance, it's mellow and fluffy.

I had no idea floral woody musks were so misunderstood. I see ppl incorrectly saying this is floral, when musk is the primary accord, and some (for reasons ill never understand) are saying this isnt unisex when its far more unisex than Musk Therapy, which is by far Initio's best fragrance. Power Self is probably third, after Side Effect. I really dont understand how this is getting such low scores. Wait. Yes I do - bad reviewers.

Just got an official sample of Power Self and got to try it on skin. Power Self is a beautiful creamy fruity floral fragrance, I feel like this would be perfect to wear for a summer afternoon that you know you will be out till dusk. I like this better than Musk Therapy but not as much as Paragon from the same collection. Official notes are: Pink Pepper SFE, Osmanthus NP, White Rose, Magnolia, Ambrox® Super, Musk and Cedarwood.

I’m not an Initio glazer. In fact I dislike most of their lineup. But I must say I love this one. Very safe fresh rose scent. I love it so much that I bought a FB. It sucks that it leans too much feminine. I can’t wear it at all. I traded it away to my friend... well but I still have a sample Initio included with it to enjoy. Still can enjoy what’s left of it...

Love this! Not overpowering-notes line up as they are supposed to. Too many people in my small town are wearing j’adore -I have been looking for a while for replacement to wear to appointments, etc. Something not offensive, but not too boring. Detest the name-pretty bottle-just enough different from slew of perfumes now available at your closest drugstore.

This is HEAVEN. Wow! One of the most beautiful soft perfumes. The scent profile reminds me of Narciso Poudree mixed with Rehab but more beautiful notes. It is so soft, gentle, feminine. The similarity to Rehab is there by the structure of the fragrance, not really the smell - it is powdery, musky, a lot more feminine than Rehab. WOW!!!!!! <3

I absolutely adore this fragrance! Yes, a musky rose perfume isn’t that novel, but I get a really prominent fruity osmanthus note from this that I can’t get from other musky roses. I love osmanthus, so this is a love for me. The rose in this isn’t screechy; I find the rose in PdM Delina and Delina La Rosee to be more sharp.

I love this one. I read the reviews and I was a bit afraid because it was a blind buy, but I don't regret it. Is a very beautiful and well blended mix between musk and roses, with a hint of pepper in the opening😍. For me it seems like a mix between Valaya and Delina.

This is a very underwhelming scent. Nothing original. Nothing to make it stand out. Just, meh. It smells nice. But it smells like any designer cheapy from Sephora. Glad I sampled before investing $410. It’s a shame because I love this house. This was a let down.

I’m really surprised at all the negative reviews. Perhaps it is not worth the price they are asking but it is a gorgeous scent. I don’t get floral, I get musk and wood and a tiny bit of fruit. Can’t compare it to anything that I have smelled before.

Quite disappointed. By the notes it seems like this nice floral fragrance, however it isn't. Sure it is floral but really mid. A fragrances that tries to be too much and fails at it. Good projection with 4-6 hour longevity. 6.3/10

This stuff is so good that I kept revisiting it. I’m happy that I chose this as one of the samples Initio offered when buying their products. Vibrant rose and clean musk. Projects pretty well. Airy and inoffensive.

Smelled this today.. it is REALLY good.. to me it’s like maybe an atomic rose meets musk therapy in that kind of ball park but it is definitely worth picking up when it releases. It’s perfect for spring and summer

I really don't understand the hate. This scent smells heavenly, it's clean - sweet yet elegant, easy to wear. Definitely on my wishlist to purchase soon, very underrated.

This is lovely but it doesn’t resemble any of Delinas or hibiscus mahajad at all!! I can’t smell the pink pepper, this is musky and white flowers. Love it

Luckyscent lists the ingredients as black pepper, osmanthus, white rose, magnolia, ambroxan, musk, sandalwood. I find it completely addictive. Dumb name.

Full Bottle worthy! Smells so awesome when outside heat. Layer it with Valaya Exclusif and Valaya body creme.

I even got a little annoyed. I thought, nope, I’m not about to sit here and pretend this is some mind-blowing, must-buy, never-before-seen masterpiece. But fine, I told myself. Let’s not be impulsive—let’s spray it on the skin. And that’s when I was actually surprised. Yes, it does remind me of Delina and Atomic Rose, but it has a different personality—like a sweet, bubblegum vibe. If I had to sum it up in one word? Cute. Not for winter when you crave something deep and heavy, but perfect for spring and summer, when you’re in the mood for a light, airy dress or silky shirt. Byredo Young Rose, Parfums de Marly Delina La Rosée, and Initio Atomic Rose fans—listen up! Your perfume shelf might be waiting for this bright and playful scent. Now, I’m super curious about the actual notes because they haven’t been officially revealed yet, so let’s take a wild guess. Rose? Obviously. I wouldn’t be surprised if there’s lychee, maybe even strawberries or grapes. Sage? Some marine notes, perhaps? The sweetness makes me think of lychee or strawberries again—or who knows, maybe the perfumer even snuck in a bubblegum accord? Wouldn’t be the first time I’ve smelled almost identical perfumes with completely different listed notes!

This is absolutely neither Delina, nor Valaya. Not in a thousand years. This is a very interesting and sligthly complex musky, ultra clean scent. I am absolutely shocked that not a single soul is mentioning Acne Studios x Frederic Malle. They are definitely cousins in terms of the scent profile. This is not as clean and cloying as that one. It rather has a very peppery opening, followed by the tiniest bit of Atomic Rose DNA (mixed with white flowers) and then white musk dominates it. Try it on your skin before judging it. The performance is surprising as I was still able to feel it on my arm the following day, can't say much about projection, but I bet you this will be the next "clean girl aesthetic" fragrance hit. If it won't, you are missing out. Also, don't know if anyone cares, but the name is centered around the idea that this fragrance is supposed to lift your mood in order to exuberate your true self. Therefore, empower yourself.

A truly unisex perfume. I got turned onto this because my male friend just purchased it and it smelled lovely on him. Men *can* wear florals, and this is proof. It also smelled amazing on me. He gave me a decant and hopefully my husband likes it, but if not I’ll get one for myself lol. Gorgeous, intriguing, and rose-forward but balanced with a fresh woodiness. The pink pepper keeps it interesting and prevents it from being too sweet. I’m blown away by the negative reviews, because this is a beautiful fragrance. I couldn’t stop smelling myself. It felt like it evoked a “higher self” version of me, like my potential. Wore it in 70-75 degree weather and it was perfect. Leaves a light trail and exudes confidence without being loud or obnoxious. I think some people get way too obsessed with “niche” fragrances and how they must smell super different and unique. Like...why not just smell *good*?

I’ll write my modest review. I had a chance to try this fragrance, and it somehow reminds me of Delina La Rosée, where you can distinctly catch either lychee or pear 🍐, along with what seems like magnolia blossom and sandalwood, which adds a subtle powderiness and woodiness when the fragrance settles into the base. In the base, on my skin, the fragrance becomes slightly sweeter than at the opening. At the opening, it’s more fruity-floral, with the fruity notes taking the lead. It’s undoubtedly a beautiful, feminine, spring-summer fragrance! What’s surprising is that it’s quite airy — I wouldn’t say the fragrances in The Hedonist line are usually airy, but this one was a pleasant surprise! Looking at the current note pyramid provided I don’t sense any connection to the actual scent. That’s why I’ll wait for the official release and check the pyramid on the brand’s official website.

I was thoroughly enjoying my sample of this addictive soapy rose while simultaneously looking for a deal and trying to figure out why it smells so familiar to me. Well, today I finally figured out what it’s reminding me of. Pink Dove bar soap and the original Coach The Fragrance. No raspberry here, so there’s that. But, while they are not identical, I certainly do not need this while I still have a nearly full 100ML bottle of Coach on my shelf. Coach also outperforms Power Self for me and has a more elegant dry down that morphs away from soap into an addictive and sensual clean patchouli rose blend. I knew when I first smelled it that it was far from groundbreaking... glad I didn’t spring for this. It’s nice though, if you just want to smell like pink Dove bar soap. A bit overpriced for that though, I’m afraid.

I got this as a tester at a great discount. Otherwise, I may not have purchased. Don't get me wrong, it's nice. It's rose. It's another nice rose perfume. Honestly, the opening is fabulous. Sweet, peppery, floral - almost gave off a clean fruity vibe. Not too strong. Every day wear safe. But the dry down? Disappointing, to say the least. Like I said, it just turns into "another nice rose" perfume. Not as potent as Delina La Rosee. It holds onto the clean scent longer - which is probably why it is getting compared to Valaya. I have not tried Atomic Rose, so I can't compare. For the price point of Initio, this should have been a bit more interesting than just another nice rose, IMO.

Fresh, floral and a little fruity musky vibe with a super light but peppery and woody hint on the end. The scent itself is really nice and would shine in spring/summer. Performance is a little better than expected but still a little overpriced in my opinion. A simpler scent but it’s done very well and I like how it’s blended also the peppery woody vibe really makes this stand out against other similar fragrances.

Tried in store . Clearly all the notes aren’t listed. This is very close to Deline La rose + musk therapy . If you combine both , I did a side by side comparison of both . This Not very unique to the brand . I think they just used in house of supply they already have . It’s such a low effort for a new release . It makes sense because pdm is sister to initio ...I wouldn’t buy this at full price.

Fruity, sweet spicy and juicy floral vibe with plenty of musk going on too meanwhile there is a bit of a creamy fruity feel to my nose. It starts off very peppery , floral and musky then it becomes sweet and fruity with that rose note and musk smoothing things out with a light powdery talc note. Feels super strong at first and very feminine but I like it on me as a guy.

Rosy and white floral with a subtle woody nuance. It has a juicy floral accord that smells quite natural. The base is a smooth musky base. Velvety. Your basic pink meets white floral musk but high quality ingredients. For a western nose, this is decisively feminine. In the middle east, very unisex. Moderate sillage and longevity.

Power Self Initio is a soft, very feminine powdery fragrance , like a marshmallow, gentle and a touch creamy. It’s lovely, but not new to my nose. It reminds me a lot of Micalef’s Note Vanille, which I already have and love. I don’t feel the need to buy Power Self because Note Vanille already gives me that exact comfort.

At first sniff, it was an immediate no for me. All I could smell was pepper. I went back and did a full-day wear, and I like it. It's a bold skin scent. It does have the tartness of Delina, but the musk provides a balance. I don't think it's full bottle worthy, but it's definitely worth a decant.

It's very well blended safe blind-buy perfume with no personality. It smells very familiar, like an expensive shampoo perhaps, or any designer fragrance from early 00s. Can't pinpoint what it reminds me of, but it smells sooo familiar. It's not a bad perfume, it's just not unique.

No idea how this can be described as woody. It is sweet, rose musk with pink pepper. I quite like it, but I already own Pure Extreme which smells very similar after the opening notes have faded. On me, this is stronger than Musk Therapy and I prefer this for that reason.

I only tried 1 spray on skin (because it's very feminine imo) and I thought it was a pretty floral musk. However, I can't shake the feeling that it's been done before. I know I've smelled this before. It must be one of the "smells like" scents, maybe delina or chloe.

Save yourself the money and get Swiss Arabian Musk 07, they’re almost identical on skin! It is a beautiful fragrance that reminds me a lot Delina Exclusif or Delina mixed with Atomic Rose. Quite beautiful but only lasts 2 hours at most.
