Radieux

Reading the brand’s description of Radieux, I came to the scent with very different ideas in mind on what constitutes an ‘innocent’ scent. I imagined the unsophisticated purity of a child that does light chores on the farm, plays out in the flowery meadows of the countryside, and goes to church on Sundays, quiet and reposed. But this one is the child that runs errands for the flower shop and local winery, plays with her dolls in the orchard, and attends mass every Sundays. A very Mediterranean feel, from what I can make of it. One fragrance that Radieux reminds me of is L’Envol by Cartier. Radieux, being dominated by an invigorating honey note embellished with spices and citruses,has a similar feel but without the robust base of guaiac wood and musk found in L’Envol. Smelling this perfume is like smelling a completed olfactive puzzle—it’s the first time I claim to be smelling the whole note pyramid at once, albeit the olfactory shape takes form more like a pointed oval than a pyramid, due to the overall lack of base notes. I didn’t understand what I was smelling at first; it smelled quite cosmetic-y and something like a honey chapstick, but it was just that Radieux is blended absolutely seamlessly like the sunlight which through a prism shows its chromatic radiance. The notes I smell are exactly as listed above. The dry pepper and vetiver serve as a backbone to the lush mélange of cardamom, rich white florals, and honey. The amber and incense respectively provide density and lift. The bergamot is tart and for some reason does not smell like citrus unless very close up. The fragrance achieves a certain degree of clarity that I find common in formulations scant on musk. However, the lack of robust base notes creates another story as time passes... The child has grown up. The dolls now sit in the old trunk in the cabinet as memoirs of the past. A honeyed drink rounds out a hard day of work as a flower shop closes down the street. She returns home to set out her good clothes for tomorrow. Longevity: Light-Medium Works best on Warm & Soft Fabric. + The bottle is very beautiful

missing Spikenard from the notes, quite relevant in my opinion.

@Ruggie the spikenard is mistrantlation, the note in Spanish has more than one translation but the brand confirmed it's tuberose.
