A Drop d'Issey Eau de Parfum Fraiche

Such a good perfume, when I first sprayed it i just thought "Wow another clean perfume how unique🙄" BUT a minute later it became a smooth, rain-fresh scent, I get the "clean" part but for me its best described as "fresh" rather than clean, im used to niche realistic perfumery notes of petrichor and "water" so I wasn't expecting hyper-realistic notes but this could actually pass as a niche perfume, after a bit it smells "steamy" like a shower but not in a generic way of a "after shower clean fragrance" this IS the shower smell, the water, the shampoo bottles, the humidity, if that makes sense, a steamy running shower or a rainy ozonic cold icy atmosphere, i guess in general this is aquatic but in a realistic and gentle way, personally I get super disappointed when a fragrance that is marketed as "aquatic" is sea water/ocean note based instead of rain, water or rivers if that makes sense? So this was truly the aquatic I like, i just wish the green one would be the same but instead of the sea water accord it would be rain. Honestly its not airy but its smooth and ozonic which makes it really feel dewy and atmospheric. Really cold for some reason on me, icy even but so so delicate and naturally fresh and crisp, longevity is good too

So straight off, I don't get anything rain like here at all. It's aquatic and fresh certainly, but not anything that smells like rain. So the opening here is watery fruits, something close to a sweet melon. The lilac is less loud than in the original. This fragrance tickles my nose, I'm not sure what it is, maybe it's ambroxan, I get it much more here than in the original, which I am comparing side by side with this one, but it's nothing bad. The rose is gentle, fresh and petally, there's a light creaminess, emulating the original fragrance but it's not the same creaminess as there. In the end it's still aquatic but creamy too. This one stays a fresh scented moisturiser fragrance, there's no sunscreen like in the original. I want one of these two and I honestly can't decide, I love both. But! I like the opening better of the original and the drydown better of the fraîche... Not that either is bad. The original fragrance is certainly the more original of the two, but this is a beautiful flanker for summer.

My first purchase from the Drop line and my first Fragrantica review (yay!). This is a fantastic addition to my small catalogue of frutiger aero-esque fragrances. Bright aquatic smell with a floral hit and a light after-smell reminiscent of petrichor — all smelling somewhat artificial, which delighted me. The reviews describing the ozonic notes and synthetic-ness are not wrong, however these factors absolutely add to the experience for me. Smells like a watery, blue-green soap bubble paradise that you’d see in a childhood dream. Definitely will be wearing for whatever warm days we have left this year. Edit: After a month or so, it reads as more sharp than it did earlier, and it can be a little headache-inducing. I want to try its greener sister perfume.

I was looking for a fresh fragrance to add to my collection, it’s not my go-to type of perfume but I like to have 1 or 2 bottles; sometimes I want to smell fresh going to the gym or other exercise, climbing into a fresh bed or just to match my hair products! I smelt this in Boots and really liked it and it fit neatly into my collection! I am very fond of Issey for perfecting the “water” notes in perfume. This is not my signature scent but it’s a scent that has its place in my collection. I also like this as a night time fragrance and there are some similarities to it and Replica’s Lazy Sunday Morning which has a more lived in and sweaty allure to this. smells super clean & fresh, almost soapy on me. like stepping into the cold out of a steaming hot shower and sitting soaking wet on your newly washed bed sheets and flipping through a magazine, leaving wet fingerprints on the pages, and smiling at the wildflowers your partner picked for you earlier today. on the drydown there is a more powdery, blooming scent, but i feel like the deep watery freshness is still there, it is not too sweet or closed off imo. reminds me a lot of how i remember rituals' sakura bodywash? a really nice comforting and clean scent, could be unisex. edit: after wearing out a coiple times im a bit disappointed by the longevity, but this does last wayyyy longer on clothes and over vaseline on skin

I love the vibe its simple and clean , but i still dont know the longtively . At first its fresh watery but then it dry down into flower bomb. Edit : Its new type of feminine perfume. Most perfume designed for females are either warm and sweet or masculine. This one is one of the rare perfume that have a light cool fresh scent without being masculine. Like the light blue intense without the chemical scent. you should give this some time , dont judge it by the first note. Its my favorite everyday perfume now . It stays for a long time and has a fresh scent. The silage is not so good but enough for me maybe a 6/10. HEADACHE WARNING. If you wear it for long time But I would replace damask rose with lily of the valley

Soft and tender scent of petrichor. Freshness and powdery notes in harmony. A very nice, comforting skin scent. The lilac note doesn't dominate in this one, the watery elements soften it nicely, like a soft and warm summer rain. If you like Jo Malone Wild Bluebell like me, this is a good option with more notes and generally better value. The drydown resembles my spring-summer signature Ocean di Gioia. But Drop Fraiche is more delicate and "rainy". Maybe not the most memorable scent, but definitely pleasant and aromatherapeutic. My want list got a new member again..

Just tested this at Sephora yesterday,smell fantastic ,fresh and clean.A scent that wont offence anyone and surprisngly it last for more than 6 hour which im little surprise for a freshie . Projection and sillage is good ,you will definitely leave a scent trail of this. I saw some review saying that the smell of the perfume vanished after 30 min which i believe they got noseblind or anosmia due to ambroxan super and it also lean to unisex type of fragrance scent. The smell still noticeable on my skin even after a good shower at night. Will get a full bottle later.

My first review was based on a tester spray and I wrote that this is a skin scent. Now that I have a full bottle I can only correct my first impression. This is much stronger than that! A Drop D'Issey Fraiche has good lasting power and it leaves a heavenly scent trail on clothes and air. It smells blue. I feel I am swimming in beautiful waters, maybe under a waterfall when wearing this. I am piscean, so this is my element. This has the unique Issey Miyake aquatic touch/drop in it and it's my very favorite perfume at the moment. The best aquatic I've ever smelled!

Honestly, I find it even more pleasant and more affordable than When the Rain Stops by Maison Margiela. I’ve always loved Issey Miyake perfumes; for their price and quality, they truly stand out. They’re the kind of fragrances that always fit beautifully into any large collection, perfect for everyday wear. I never regret buying them they’re consistently enjoyable, clean, and uplifting. This Drops line, in particular, feels super creative. The bottles are stunning, and the scents are fresh, modern, and long-lasting. Such an underrated gem in my opinion.

totally feels like 'a drop d'isseys' cooler older brother who wears big t true religions and a blue pair of oakleys. i love the original drop d'issey (even as a man) however i think this may have taken over as my signature scent. smells like a fresh rainstorm is happening while i'm bathing in a freshwater lake with a vodka + elderflower soda in all the best ways. totally unisex in my eyes (or nose) only thing i would change is it lasting a bit longer, this seems a common issue with aquatic/ozonic scents xoxo aluminiumfoiled xoxo ◐ω◑

my favourite and signature scent. she's just so perfect <3 rainy, dewy wateryness, with subtle and delicate lilac, the damask rose giving it a sharp strength. it’s more than just fresh, there’s a groundedness. like a waterfall at dawn, with its water sprinkling onto a blooming lilac tree on which the dew is fresh. unique and pretty bottle, the spray is so fun. love her so much. sometimes when i feel like a little more lilac i will layer it with honore payan's 'lilas' edt (very simple, one-note, photorealistic lilac).

So.. My first real fragrance journey started here and I actually wish it just ended there. I wasn’t happy with it at first therefore I started collecting in search of my new signature scent. And god I’ve been here and there since trying this one.. I decided to just try it again for “fun”, and I just realized what a pleasure it brings. I do not agree this smells like a var freshener or masculine. The sirens are so authentic to me and it’s simple and absolutely beautiful in a clean, elegant way.

This is actually a beautiful smelling fragrance. Like fresh air during a very light rain. It's beautifully refreshing in a delicate way. It has a lotion type smell and watery notes with a little mint. I know mint isn't mentioned in the notes but I definitely get it. The only thing that lets it down is the performance. There's barely a 1 hour scent bubble, and after that first hour it sits very close to the skin. A shame because the general scent is lovely.

I'm a lover of a flower-wood fragrances that has a bit unisex feel, but leaning on female side. It's well blended composition where I can't pin point any note that stands out more than others. Overall it's fresh, aquatic and sweet. I expected to be more autumn fragrance for the rainy notes but everything says summer to me. Like heavy summer rain in the forest with wild flowers. Beautiful though it doesn't last long.

I love this perfume. When I smell it, I am just transported to the future we were promised (Frutiger Aero realm). This perfume is amazing, I've never smelled anything like it. If you like fresh, watery/aquatic, light floral scents, I think you will like this one. This was actually a blind buy, and I was surprised by how much I liked it. Definitely recommend.

This is lovely! If you are a fan of Issey Miyake fragrances than you will probably love this. It has the very distinct freshness that I’ve come to love from Issey. It’s got the aquatic vibes that Issey always gives out! It’s absolutely so beautiful. It is light, airy slightly unisex but much more on the female side. I love it! I got it for a steal too! :)

I think it has enough to be very unisex. A dude can pull this off or if it is used to layer. The aquatic aspect of this is well appointed. I almost smell LV Rain Tea. I'm impressed with this underrated gem. Lasts about 4 hours; expected since it's a fraiche. You can reapply throughout the day without being offensive.

A more feminine voice in comparison to something like AQVA Marine. I've been slowly collecting lilac perfumes and this does not disappoint. I've heard good things about this brand and so far everything is accurate and the scent is lovely. Going on four hours worn.

This is so gorgeous, fresh, clean out of the shower clean girl aesthetic if only it lasted longer it would be 10/10. This is delicate dew drops found on the lush green leaves after the rain. Feminine. Out of all the drops this 1 is my favorite. Love.

A perfume for river nymphs & naiads. I adore it - makes me think of camping, emerging from your tent in the early morning, a low-lying mist soothing the grass before the sun burns through. The lilac/water combination is truly something else.

I absolutely love this fragrance!! A beautiful scent for spring through to autumn...lasts for ages on my skin and remains delightful as the hours pass. I find myself smiling as I keep catching how good I smell. This is a 💜💜💜 for me!

This is an absolutely beautiful scent! It's cool yet cosy and it lasts quite some time on my skin, considering it's an eau fraiche. I got my first bottle of this yesterday and it's immediately become one of my all time favorites.

It does have the same cooling effect as cool water women. Almost the same vibes as the essentielle version so no need to get both. This one does lean more masculine whereas the original and essentielle leans feminine

This is such a unique perfume. Smells like a paradise waterfall. I am in love. The whole A Drop line is just stunning. This is clean and watery. Issey Miyake always deliver stunning creations.

I bought this for my mother, and I wish I had it for myself. It smells sooo lovely. The aquatic with the floral is a wonderful blend. I do think it is a bit overpriced though.

A field of lilacs, near a forest, after a heavy rainfall. Fresh, clean, aquatic, beautiful. Femenine leaning with good performance. A cheapie gem for warm weather months.

This is a perfect freshie, especially for rainy days in summer !! I think it is quite different than the OG which is more nutty/creamy/musky than A Drop D’Issey EDP Fraîche. This one’s more aquatic/fresh/floral and I like it a lot ! That Lilac is truly beautiful , the Rain Notes/Watery Notes are making the Lilac dewy, fresh, cozy and innocent, really like morning dew. I’m picturing a beautiful and colorful garden with hundreds of flowers with various shapes and colors. You’re heading to get your mail, or simply to spend some time in the garden during that perfect fresh and warm summer morning, and your ankles are touching the morning dew as you walk to your chairs to sit back and relax. Then it starts raining, so the greatest idea is to spend the afternoon with some dim lights on, turn on the fan on your living room, open the windows and let the sound of the rain and the subtle breeze of the fan are guiding you through peace and relaxation on that now, warm and humid rainy afternoon. Damask Rose is hiding behind the Lilac but still adds a bit more strength to the floral side of the blend. Dreamwood & Ambrox Super are newbies to my nose, not that common, however, I can put my nose more easily on the Dreamwood, since there remains a pretty clear and noticeable woodsy facet. Ambrox Super is just invisible to me since I can’t put my nose on it, and never knew what it smells like. This fragrance, even if fresh, floral and aquatic, remains a bit more elegant and mature than a fresh floral that a teenager would wear, this has a maturity to it without smelling old. But there’s something that makes the blend less enjoyable for me, a sort of creamy/synthetic aspect that, maybe, comes from the Synthetic notes, this aspect can feel disgusting at times, not even noticeable other times. It is weird... But besides that, the scent is cute and unique, fresh and perfect for summer. I think it is still leaning towards women more than an unisex audience. But can definitely be worn by everyone that wants a perfume that is pretty much an interesting easy grab for summer, especially to feel like a fresh dewy Lilac flower ♡ I am a bit disappointed, I tried it in store a while ago and thought it was perfect, it is now a bit different since then to my nose but doesn’t stink by any means. The lasting power is ok, pretty average, and the sillage is radiating within arm length, or actually just a tad bit more than that, but nothing powerful. I believe reapplying would be necessary after 4 hours of wear. It becomes a skin scent to me, something intimate, a scent that only myself can pick up. And for the price point (even if I payed my 50ml with a HUUUGE discount) it still remains too expensive for these less positive details. I believe this is a scent that you have to, at least, to like more than 90% to truly wear and love it. I give it a 6,5/10, because the scent is creative, original, elegant and fresh. The bottle is magnificent and funny to spray. It would’ve been a 7,5 or an 8 if it wasn’t that expensive and if that weird synthetic and disgusting dewy note that magically appears and disappears.

I first sprayed this and it was just like any other rain scent. In all the ones I've smelled throughout the years, I've never been able to distinguish individual notes, so I ran an experiment of sorts and tried four different ones on at the same time (each wrist and inner arm) to see if I really could smell a difference. Compared to A Drop d'Issey Eau Fraiche here is what I noticed: Clean Reserve Rain- This is most like A Drop, but this one is lighter and softer. A Drop is stronger and projects more. Comparing them side by side, Rain has more green notes, and A Drop has more floral notes. I am unable to distinguish these individually, and they really take a backseat to the aquatic smells- they're not apparent to my nose except when comparing the two. I should also add that A Drop reminds me of at least one other in the H2Eau collection, but unfortunately I don't have any of the samples left to compare. Chanel Chance Eau Fraiche- only when compared to A Drop does the lime really stand out here. It's almost like a lime gelatin than a photorealistic lime MMR When The Rain Stops- this one is definitely more complex- I can notice the soft florals in it which are more prominent than in A Drop. It also dries down to this beautiful earthy fragrance while A Drop is quite linear. Overall, this isn't a bad fragrance, but it's uninspired and not unique. Right now, it has the lowest price than any of the others I've compared them to, so it's worth buying if you don't already have something similar. My favorite is When the Rain Stops for its complexity so I'd definitely recommend that one over A Drop d'Issey Eau Fraiche if the money allows.

Soft dreamy creamy lilacs and clear fresh watery green rainforest...abd Ambrox Super. I love green wet English forest wildflowers without ANY powder and this delivers. I really like it as an at home comfort scent. And it's ALMOST is a daily after shower, heading out the door to face the world signature scent for me. Except for that intense Ambrox Super base note. Its too dialed up and leans masculine. It gives 3-day sexy mens sweaty underarm vibe. I don't wear it in public because it smells like I forgot to put on deodorant, sweated then didn't wash for days then added a realistic fresh nature perfume. Smells good, yes, and appropriate to share with intimate family or a lover. But waaay too close and personal for sharing with the general masses. I want to be friendly, but not THAT friendly if you get my meaning. I'm not inviting random strangers on the bus or at work to imagine they are so close they are literally burying their nose into my underarms and taking a long deep sniff! So yeah, I keep this little gem at home on the weekends.

I was trying a bunch of perfume at an airport duty free store and was just not having it with any of the samples. But Fraiche took me by surprise. The first whiff immediately took me back to the time where I, as a kid, mischievously sprayed a Boss Woman perfume in the air that someone left at my home in the mid-2000s. It's fresh, "woozy"(which I guess is how I associate the aquatic note then), floral, and probably my first time experiencing olfactory sophistication, lol! It's a novelty in a fancy spray bottle. I had a hard time trying to get this scent to work for me for long wear initially. It was a nightmare when I had it on my skin; the floral scent became too cloying and nauseous. Mixing it with lotion made it fade out way too quickly. But spraying on my shirt worked out well, like a wonderful, fresh, elevated laundry smell lingering in the air every now and then.

I got this at the same time as the original (still trying to get Essentielle for cheap) , and surprisingly I think I like this one a little more than the original. It smells exactly like rain on plants in April. A little chill and cool with a slight floral edge. I don't really smell the lilac, but it does smell nice. I find this has a little more vibrancy than the original.It smells like something to wear for fun high energy days out. Where OG smells like something to wear to work or to a coffee shop date, Fraiche smells like a hike or day at a theme park. A shame it's being discontinued. It does smell a touch more masculine than the original, but I say it's a bit of a tomboy smell. It's like Sporty Spice or Sailor Jupiter. It's that girl who doesn't need to be 100% feminine all day to feel like a woman. It's great.

The Lilac is the main note, although the aquatic and the dreamwood notes make it kinda soapy (not necessarily in a bad way, but beware if it's not something you are fond of). For some reasons, lilac notes are hard to come by (as an edp at least) and this perfume does the job if it's what you are searching for. Very easy to wear and appreciate, I can't see it being offensive to anyone although it may smell a bit like a generic floral fragrance. Now for the bottle; while it really does look like a drop, it also *sits* like a drop I guess? It just lays on it's back and you may have to find a small stand to redress it like in the shops. Not a fan 👎

This is like a bright juicy version of the original a Drop d’Issey. There are clear similarities while still being quite distinct. The lilac is the same but where the original is creamy/lotion, here it’s splashy and bright. It really is just a variation on the same concept and I’m super impressed by the execution of the concept. Both fragrances are wearable but interesting, true to their notes but still surprising. This is really nice for summer/warmer weather and I’m glad that I purchased. Longevity is ok, not great, but I find that to be the case with 99% of fragrances so it may be a me problem.

Similar to the green Drop flanker - fresh, but without the green notes. Similar to the OG, but fresher. The creamy, ambroxan DNA of the OG is present but diluted, and I swear I can get a whiff of the aniseedy note present in the OG (even though it's not listed in this pyramid). This one pulls more masculine on me. Slightly toothpasty? I prefer the other two. This is still really nice though, I love most Issey frags, but you probably don't need all three Drops unless you're a die hard collector. I can't smell anything that I recognise as lilac in any of them.

I found it very impressive how they managed to really capture the smell of having a shower. The smell of water, soap, shampoo. It’s incredibly fresh and clean. In the dry down, it starts to get a little more skin-like, as if you applied a very lightly scented body lotion on top of your clean, fresh skin. But the smell lasts a quite long time. It has a hint of florals, but I still find it to be very unisex. Overall a great inoffensive, fresh, water-like perfume, which is neither sweet, nor citrus, nor herbal, nor woody, nor musky. Just simple cleanliness

It smells like a forest after rain that has some lilac blossoms around. Bought it as soon as it came out. It lasts better on my than the original, I can't smell it in the air after a while (2ish hours) but others can. Very much a daytime perfume, not offensive, can be worn to the office. Needs to be reapplied, so bring the bottle with you! Love lilac and woody notes so I'm happy with the purchase and cam find use to it.

Watery, ozonic floral. Definitely more lilac than rose; tbh I do not pick up on the rose note at all. Very reminiscent of rain, so if you like petrichor notes then this one is worth a look. Very fresh and clean, so great for hot days, also totally unisex. Longevity isn’t the greatest at around 3 hours, but it is a freshie so I pretty much expected that. A scent I’m pleased to have in my collection, and would repurchase.

This is so weak! I sprayed 5 sprays on, approached my husband right after to ask for his opinion, and he couldn't even tell I had anything on. This is along the same lines as Armani's Ocean di Gioia, a shampoo-like, fresh out of the shower scent. It doesn't really remind me of the original, which is much more enjoyable (and longlasting) in my opinion. It's nice, don't get me wrong, but I won't be getting a full bottle.

Smells a bit like a powdery shampoo but it is lovely. Fresh, relaxing, feminine and has a "body" if you know what i mean. It is not groundbreaking, but it is pleasant. A good choice for summer. It feels peaceful but i still prefers the original Drop d ́Issey. I imagine a japanese woman wearing it near a lake in the woods. p.s: My husband said it smells very good, in case any of you want a masculine opinion.

It's a fresh musk without being citrus. I like it, not as much as all my other perfumes, but quite well. Everyone else around me loves it though, random people always notice it and I rarely get compliments on some if my other perfumes that I enjoy more. It's a little annoying, but I now wear it when I want something easy going and likeable.

Better than the original, in my opinion. It's softer and not as squeamish. The ambroxan is not that loud, which is good, and the perfume does not make me feel headache, unlike the original. However, it doesn't last as long, either. The original one lasts and lasts on me but this one is ok. The lilac note is still here. But it's fresher.

A Drop d'Issey smells fresh and clean. The scent is aquatic, light and pleasant. I find it perfect for a hot day - it is not cloying or suffocating, plus, it does not irritate other people around be it in an office or somewhere crowded. In colder weather, the floral notes are a bit more noticeable but it is not a disadvantage.

Unique is the word for this one to me. Fresh walk into a clean room type scent. Cotton towels from the dryer but with some humidity. For me a bit of bamboo and cedar mixed with Aquafina. I know it doesn’t have a bamboo note listed but that’s what I pick up on. Will most likely buy the other two in the set of three 🥰

Bought this today. Really good for the summer...I actually like it more than Acqua di Gioia. It is more feminine. Really cute bottle but it doesn't have a proper cap so I suspect it wouldn't be very travel friendly. Also, it doesn't last very long...definitely needs to be reapplied throughout the day.

This is perfect for a rainy spring day, the rain actually amplifies the rain and flowers vibe and makes it last all day. This is my go to for those kind of days, its very light and floral, though I can see how it might not be everyone’s cup of tea as the florals are the main thing here
