Fusion d'Issey Extrême

(Review of 125ml Bottle) This is quite the chameleon for me, with specific accords that jump on and off my skin a lot within the first couple hours of wear. On first spray, this was RADIANT with glorious cardamom and coconut. Reminds me of eating a bar of kulfi (a sweet frozen treat similar to ice cream). It's both warm, resonant, and almost nutty. A slight tartness cuts through the cream and spice, cracking the coconut open. The open crevice is then filled and nourished by the refreshing mint and lavender notes. These two in particular were incredibly balanced with the coconut accord and gave a cool, crisp, and refreshing edge to the composition, while still letting the coconut shine beautifully off of the skin. These all would rotate in and out of olfactory presence, like I said before at the start of my review... but then, the real star of the show finally appears. This insane mineral accord comes in when the cardamom starts to leave and never disappears. I genuinely have a hard time trying to accurately describe the minerality of this scent, but I could only describe it as "smacking two strange rocks together and taking a whiff of the dust that came off of it." It's incredibly addicting, and alongside the warmth of whatever they're using for the solar note, you get this sun-kissed, golden-tinged sensation on the skin that's continually balanced and cooled by the aforementioned mint and lavender. The drydown isn't super special, but sandalwood and patchouli are very welcome additions to the party next to that gorgeous coconut. The sandalwood accord is a tad synthetic and basic, but it really glows more than usual thanks to that shimmering aspect that coats everything in this fragrance in the rich orange tones of a summer sunset. Patchouli compliments it nicely, adding dirty green foliage to the scene until night comes, and this fragrance finally fades into the comfort of your own skin. I'm a big Issey Miyake fan, so I'm really glad I enjoyed this as much as I did. The mineral note is the bridge from designer into niche to me, as this scent is just so strange! It's not as wearable as it looks, there's almost an otherworldly feel to it. Despite that, I seriously love it, and it's got decent longevity too (7 hours) with sillage that was on the stronger side of moderate. If you enjoy a creamy coconut scent, I could suggest this if you wanted something a bit stranger or different. Just be wary of how coconut projects off your skin - some people get a lotion or sunscreen scent from coconut fragrances!

For the price you can find this for at discounters, this is arguably one of, if not the, best bang-for-your-buck designers for hot weather. Opens with a minty blast of coconut that also has some minerality to it. Similar smell to some sunscreen lotions, but not in an unpleasant way. Cardamom is listed and can be vaguely detected, but I find it to be more of a supporting role to the creamy coconut. The mint is mostly detectable in the first couple of minutes, doesn't last as long as I'd like. Overall, a refreshing opening that brings to mind days on the beach, sweat and natural body oils mixing with sunscreen...while the opening can be appealing, I'd argue it's the least likeable part of the fragrance. The best part is most definitely the dry down, which comes quickly after about 90 minutes. And the dry down, oh my God this dry down. What a sexy, masculine, mature dry down. Not mature as in old man, mature as in not immature. The coconut remains, but does move towards the background as the sandalwood and patchouli take over. Woody, green, slightly powdery, rich, seductive...this dry down is addictive. I very much love the way the coconut comes across in this fragrance as opposed to something like JPG Le Beau. The coconut here never crosses over to sweet, always remaining a creamy, slightly salty, somewhat tropical backbone. Very masculine, more mature and grounded than playful and aggressive. Sillage is average and longevity is above average. A full bottle can be found for about $35 depending on which website you find it at. Overall, wow, what a sleeper hit. I'm surprised more people aren't talking about it. I guess Issey Miyaki needs to cough up more money to the influencers! If you're a grown man with his life together who is looking for a summer fragrance that ISN'T a sugar bomb, check this out - you won't be disappointed!

Got a sample of this in an order today - and I'm very intrigued. I didn't think I'd enjoy the coconut as much as I did. I've been on a bit of a "Blue" journey lately (BdC, Aqva Atlantiqve, Polo Deep Blue, etc), so was expecting much of the same, but this does something very different. On initial spray, I get hit with quite a dense and sweet coconut, with a tiny bit of cardamom. Not very citrusy at all. The density is what sets it apart from actual Blue scents IMO. I was surprised to see others reviewers getting almost no coconut, as I get a decent amount throughout the duration of the scent. It never leans very fresh or citrusy, instead it goes creamy and sweet, with a very soft woodiness to give it body. The result is something invigorating and I think very sexy. In my mind, it conjured a less generic, less sharp Davidoff Cool Water Intense, mixed the tropical / sun lotion aspect of Set Sail St. Barts, with a bit of the added modern "Blue" vibe and sexiness. Overall, it's quite a unique combination. To me, it's also very addicting, I sprayed it on my wrist and kept coming back to smell it during the day - which doesn't happen a lot and I buy a lot of fragrances. I can see myself on vacation at an open air night club with a white shirt and this on - at the same time it has a lot of depth and density that I honestly think it could be worn all year round. Performance-wise, I did feel it radiate off my wrist after 1-2 hours (2 sprays) - but haven't used it enough to draw a conclusion there. First impression, I'd give it an 8.5 / 10.

First of all... Thank you Nathalie Lorson! Another gem! Just blind bought it a couple of hours ago and... this, this is fantastic! Will it be the next Encre Noir? I don't know yet but will definitely buy again after I go through this 100ml bottle. Unique? Definitely something new. It's light but at the same time has a depth, character. Imagine a summer scent with depth, character. Not headache inducing and fresh in a sense of... memory creator. You'll definitely associate this smell with certain memories. It's clean but not as "commercial" as Mont Blanc Explorer Blue which to me lasts longer but smells more common. This is a blueish, ozonic, aquatic a bit (mineral note) summer, perfect for a casual day at the pool or beach fragrance. Really interesting, will definitely rebuy! It has character and a unique freshness, not the laundry, detergent type that you get from most recent releases from other houses. Recommended 9/10. Buy it if you wish for a clean, sophisticated summer scent. EDIT: 3 days later and... more than 4 people told me that it smells like... garlic. My partner, people at the pub where I go for a beer, cashier etc. It seems that to some people it smells like... garlic. And it started to smell like this to me once you get the note.

First day wearing this today but so far so good. Nothing like anything else in my collection. A perfect summer scent but can imagine this working in all but the coldest of winters. To my nose the character is mainly derived of Cardamom, Coconut and Lavender so I can understand how some might find the Cardamom-forward character a bit overwhelming. As can happen with other spices like Saffron, too much Cardamom can risk creating a love it or hate it experience. For me personally, though I find it strong this particular balance of spice/herbal/mineral/citrus accords really works. It has a real sunny-warmth about it yet I can also see this being an easy going Spring and Autumn warmth too. I wish I could detect a bit more sweet Mint among the notes but that's not a deal breaker, it is still great as it is. The projection, from my skin at least, is more on the modest side which I think lends itself better to the heavy, spicy- herbal-mineral character. I have to say I do really like this and the fact that I managed to find a 100ml tester bottle for £30 is an absolute bonus. I was infatuated with Fusion Extreme last winter when it was new and refused to buy it, as my collection is too large, but got to know it from sampling in a department store. The other day it presented itself to me for under 40E and I gave in. It is SUCH a non-binary designer synthetic scent. By that I mean a good mix of references to natural smells plus tangents into the abstract and arty. For that, it fits into the Miyake brand well. It's not pure like Cool Water Intense, which I experience as a soliflore of the flower, "molecule". (If a molecule could be a flower.) Fusion Extreme is a real perfume, despite the beachy notes. Put some thought into your grooming, attire and posture when you wear this. If you are looking for something "natural" and "fresh", this isn't it. And do you enjoy ambroxan? If you like Lorson's gimmick in Perles de Lalique - a rose-floral that smells half garden rose in the sun, half cold and dungeony - you might enjoy Fusion Extreme as well. Miyake did call this "Fusion". If you inhale close to the skin the perfume is cooling in the nasal passage, which is a neat trick considering the notes.

Blind bought this (I know, I know... It's stupid.) and while I love it, Fusion Extreme is so freaking close to Acqua Di Gio EDP that it feels totally redundant in my collection. It was a tester from Jomashop, so I think I paid like $30 or something in that range and it came with a top, so it isn't a big deal, but still. While it definitely smells very similar to ADG EDP, I think it's stronger and seems to last longer on a tester, so this could just possibly supplant that fragrance in my rotation. Also, I don't smell any coconut. That's not to say it isn't there, just that I'm not picking it up. To me, this is a very green and woody ocean fragrance. It's a bit salty and the green note is like a wet patchouli that's still fresh. It's a great mix of notes and if I could pick one or the other, I think I like this a bit better than ADG EDP. It's stronger, seems to last longer, and it's significantly less money.... So yeah, great summer fragrance, but a bit redundant of you already have one of a number of popular blue fragrances that are out there.

This is excellent juice! I've yet to find an Issey Miyake fragrance that I don't like. Off my skin, this feels like coconut water, some metallic notes, and maybe the solar notes is making this airy. It's so much better than I thought it would be. The longevity has been perfect for me, a full day's work so 9+ hours. Projection is about arm's length for the first 2 hours at least and noticeable the rest of the way as it slowly pulls back towards the skin. I'll likely have other fragrances I'll want to sport during the winter, but for the spring, summer, and fall (especially in high heat days) this is a great choice. It's more casual wear, fun, and vacay material than anything serious/formal. I've been mulling on whether to take a chance on the Super Majeure. It appears to be one of the most challenging fragrances IM has created (a real marine/aquatic scent of the ocean, supposedly). So, far, the OG is still at the top of my favorites...that rindy yuzu note is hard to beat. Scent: 9 Projection: 8.5 Longevity: 9 Price: 10 Overall: 9.25

This is nice, what an amazing perfumer Nathalie is. Creamy coconut with a metallic touh and a lush fig+sandalwood in the background. The metallic and solar notes add a touch of sophistication and depth to it. The sillage is ok, not nuclear but projects a good constant scent bubble in my skin. I get the mint in a more sweet than fresh or green facet. The quality feels really, really good. I guess people confuse the metallic notes for synthetic screechiness but then again "synthetic" is such a pointless way to criticize a smell. All perfumes have synthetic elements to them, what really matters is their quality and thats not a problem in this case. This comes off pretty innovative inside the IM collection. I feel the brand gets such a forced hate, from my experience the perfumes have really good quality ingredients and I think that if they marketed these scents in way more expensive bottles and branded them as "niche" a lot of people that hate them would be praising them like crazy.

Superb creation of Nathalie Lorson! So all in all. This is a improved and much better version from the original. I was wearing the original 2 times, and can compare property. Nathalie Lorson ads more depth to fragrance by including fresh peppermint and beautiful green lavender, Wich elevates the all structure. This structure is the same with og Fusion, beautiful creamy sandalwood mixed with some coconut aroma chemical + of course serious doses of ambroxan, but here I find ambroxan used ain't that much. I also appreciate the spicy cardamom adding that addicted effect to the fragrance. Super potent, it stays more than 10+ h on the skin, on the clothes days... It's not worth the average rating by the crazy fool dudes. For me it's a better and improved Fusion d Issey and that why I appreciate so much the talented Nathalie Lorson because she knows how to make great fragrances.

Excellent fragrance. I thought it had worn off skin in about four hours, but I guess I was kind of going in and out of being noseblind to it because I was able to smell it again... and again through the 12 hour mark. It's absolutely heavenly. The scent itself is a 10 out of 10 for me, and the price on discounters is abusurd for a 100 mL bottle. I was concerned about longevity at first, but for me, the performance turned out to be quite solid. It does have some similarity to Paradise Garden, but it's not redundant to own both. It does NOT smell like Cool Water Intense. I've tried to like that one, but it just doesn't work for me and always feels cheap. This one smells expensive and lush. This is coconut done right, without anything overly tropical smelling. Highly recommended for warm weather.

My love for Lorson is now joined by resentment. Once or twice a week I walk into a department store and spray this on my left hand and some great frag on the right. This week the comparison was Bleu de Chanel EDP. First of all, they mixed well wafting up to my nose. Second, an hour in, the Chanel turned, I dunno, a bit funky/icky (that resolved with time, though). The Fusion is perfect, start to finish. HIGH vibrations. This juice wins every time. The resentment is I want to buy this and if I do I give permission to some kind soul to please come slap some sense into me. It's not that good or necessary, really. Come on. I played this silly game with This is Him. It won. Lorson, knock it off, will you? OK, I'll control myself.

Hard to describe this fragrance, it's like citrus spiciness, definitely masculine and to my nose very pleasant even though it's not the type of profile I usually like. It reminds of me hommage a l'homme from lalique but only in the far dry down, and maybe a little Rochas L'homme. Citrus, spice, a little mineralic, maybe slightly aquatic, little sweetness. I don't pick up too much on the coconut but it's there. To me this is unique and I am happy with this blind buy. I think it will go well for spring weather. Longevity is ok at around 5 hours, projection is a little on the weaker side. Overall solid, unique profile at a great price, I'm really starting to like this house.

This is way better than the original for me. Fusion is basically on me a coconut tea like scent, with no longevity (max 4 hours) and close to the skin in 20 minutes, but pleasant. Fusion Extreme is a love, so spicy and no coconut, which is good for me. The warm spicy and woody feeling, is just amazing for me. The cedar and cardamom are what pops-up on my skin in the dry down and bergamot and the mineral/metal notes with a pinch of lavender in the beginning. This pushes way more than Fusion, after 2 hours is still projecting, while Fusion was a skin scent in max 20 minutes. Will test the longevity several times, but will probably buy this when it hits discounters!

I already love the original Fusion Dissey so getting this was a no brainer and im quite impressed, ofc theres some changes. The sweet fig nectar is gone, but it's replaced with a bomb of coconut, accompanied by mint and minerals. Amazing for the Hot weather, it gives better performance in 40 °C heat by maybe an hour compared to the OG. It gives me Beach Vacation Vibes, which makes any leisure even more fun. I do love it, but I really miss the Fig in the OG, so I think I prefer the OG over the Extreme still an amazing option for summer heat

Really clean mint and coconut. Great for hot summer days, but I could see this getting a little overwhelming indoors. If you are going to wear this inside definitely cool it with the number of sprays. That being said it is a really nice coconut scent, but it doesn’t come off as sun lotion like. There is also some mineral and metallic notes that cut through the creaminess of the coconut. I also pick up a lot of the mint in this fragrance it it really helps to give everything a nice refreshing vibe.

Wow well this one really is a mystery scent. Smelling close to the skin I can sort of see what people are referring to here (cocunut and lavender etc). But from the air this is 100% black orchid. Only lighter and more wearable — softened in a beautiful way. From the air this is dark earthy patchouli—the smoky modern kind which seems to be the profile of new release niche scents. What a playful and mysterious fragrance from the genius of Nathalie Lorson. Bravo!

Just got this in and I smell coconut fibres mixed with some green and a burst of lavender that will give it that feminine (for me)/masculine for others feeling. Blended extraordinarily well with the smooth, milky sandalwood finish to hold it all together. Definitely some mineral/solar notes you can catch in the air wiff that make it feel a bit granite quarryish. Avg projection, avg longevity. Bought Arpil 2025 joma 39 usd. Would buy again at a lower price.

I really don’t know how to explain the notes... but is SOOOOO GOOD!!! I was afraid about the opening, I felt that it was close Nadjia Intense or something close Le Beau but it’s not so tropical, it’s bright but much more aromatic than everything. The longevity is average for the kind of perfume and the price in discount is a steal. If you like the kind of perfume, just try this, it is amazing!
