L'Eau Bleue d'Issey Pour Homme

Okay, this one is definitely different. Take this review with a grain of salt because I just got it today in the mail and I'm currently wearing fresh out the shower. I like to review stuff after wearing through different weather but I have a word vomit I feel like getting out So my thoughts with this bottle are mixed. The opening to me was very.... Hmmm. Not my style.... But the dry down so far is blooming into something. It opens green, very very green like early morning countryside green and it's looming to a teal thunderstorm. It's evoking an emotion from me that's hard to explain. It reminds me of that feeling you have when it's raining, you're sick but feel comfy and kinda high from all the meds you're on lol. The fragrance does NOT make me sick, or feel sick, it's the emotion of feeling... Pretty zen after cough syrup or something. I definitely get like a blueberry, rainforest under a teal sky vibes from this.. also underwater feelings. I can't say this fragrance is "Very Green" as others have put it. I'm the opening, yes... But it transitions into something like very, mystical blue and green. It feels nostalgic and so hard to put into words. If you're into astrology, it's pretty Piscean. As I just smelled my wrist again it's changed again that quick.... I was about to write that this reminded me of Fahrenheit by Dior a little bit now it's changing into something gorgeous. That's never happened to me while writing a review. It's playing some very delicate notes that are reminiscent of the original Issey Miyake Pour Homme. It's giving a cool wind through those aforementioned blues and greens. Almost soapy bubble bath like.. Omg. Jacques Cavallier is a genius I've never smelled anything like this that I can put my finger on but it's so nostalgic. I sprayed this on about 40 minutes ago and the magic is happening now, Live. This smells poetic as hell. I feel like the fragranceis taking me on a journey somewhere... At first it was bright, sunny, green, clear clouds and warm, then a sudden thunderstorm under a teal sky erupted... The wind is blowing cool through a warm day, very pleasant, the wind isn't very high like it warrants a tornado watch, but pleasant enough to sit on your front porch and enjoy the rain shower. Its not stopping there though, you find a secret cave in the weather. At once all of your thoughts begin to calm and all of your senses are active. You feel like a child again. All of nature's scents, from the rain, to the wind, to the vivid smells of the earth begin to dance together harmoniously. You see and hear leaves flying in the wind. Peace. Meditation. Wow... This is just my first few sprays so I'm sure this bottle is going to show me something else when the juice matures. This is wonderful. I get that heart feeling from this. Not just a pleasant smell. This is very emotive. I read before I bought this some got a melancholy vibe. I don't entirely. I get more of a holistic vibe. I feel joy, love, melancholy, contentment, wonder, sexiness, presence, acceptance. Life. I definitely get that tea vibe too. What a ride.. can't wait to wear this on a rainy, windy day. This juice isn't just a fragrance, it doesn't just "smell good"... This is a message in a bottle. It's saying something profound that words can't describe. Like ... Sentient. Wild

اقتباس ژاپنی حالا که بحث بر سر تخریب محیط زیست و طبیعت در این سال‌ها مدام به گوشمان می‌خورد، اگر قرار بود ۱۰ عطر برای بزرگداشت طبیعت انتخاب کنم قطعا یکی از آنها ایسی میاکه بلو بود، هم به خاطر طبیعی بودن رایحه، منظورم مواد خام طبیعی نیست بلکه منظورم رایحه رئالیستی طبیعت است و هم حس جنگلی و سرسبز عطر. اولین تصویری که این بطری جذاب آبی برایم تداعی کرد دراز کشیدن بر یک تپه کم‌شیب سرسبز پر از گیاه با انبوه درخت‌های کوتاه و کهن سال بود جایی مثل تپه‌هایی که در کردستان و لرستان می‌بینید با درخت‌های بلوط و گون و گلابی‌های وحشی و...، آبی این عطر برای من نظاره‌ی آن آدمی ست که در آن سبز بهاری به آسمان صاف آبی خیره شده و به فکر فرو رفته بدون آنکه بداند به چه فکر می‌کند یا بدون آنکه اصلا بتواند به چیزی فکر کند. این متفاوت‌ترین عطر بلویی است که تا به حال بوییده‌اید، من نمونه‌ی مشابهی برایش پیدا نمی‌کنم شاید در عطرهای سبز نیش بتوانید تشابهاتی پیدا کنید، برای من اقتباسی از آن عطرهای سبز غربی ست با روح شرقی/ژاپنی، دقیقا مثل اقتباس‌های کوروساوا از نمایشنامه‌های شکسپیر، تو گویی شکسپیر ژاپنی بوده است، مکان و زمان آدم‌ها هم ژاپن دوران سامورایی‌ها، تلفیقی از روح غربی و شرقی. لوکا تورین این عطر را گیاهانی از مریخ می‌داند و غیر قابل پوشیدن، اما از نظر من این یک اثر هنری ست با گیاهانی که قرن‌ها در زمین‌هایمان روییده‌اند. عطری‌ست که نبودنش در مجموعه عطربازها گناه کبیره ست. عطرهای بلو معمولا آبزی و شور و فرش و اوزونیک‌اند اما ایسی میاکه بلو در میان عطرهای بلو یک استثناست. یک عطر بی‌نظیر سبز و گیاهی با لکه‌های قهوه‌ای و حسی فرش. این عطر شروعی شفاف و سبز با ته مایه‌ای شیرین (اما محو) دارد که پشت بندش فضایی تلخ، گیاهی، دارویی و کافور مانند خلق می‌کند و بعد از مدتی حالتی اسپایسی زیر آن سبزی شروع به حرکت می‌کند و لکه‌های قهوه‌ای رنگ و چوبی در این زمینه سبز نمایان می‌شوند. با حضور زنجبیل گرمایی دلپذیر شبیه زمانی که وسط تابستون گرم زیر سایه درختانی تنومند در نزدیکی جایی که آب چشمه کوچکی از کنارتان می‌گذرد به دل طبیعت زده‌اید، شما گرمای تابستون را حس می‌کنید اما در آن سایه گرمتان نیست. این عطرِ سکوت نیست، عطر صداهاست، درست مثل همان به دل طبیعت زدن است، از صدای ماشین‌ها و شهر دوری گرفته‌اید اما صدای آن طبیعت، صدای باد که گیاهان را به رقص و نجوا وامی‌دارد، صدای پرندگان که در آسمان نیلگون موج می‌زند به دل اصوات دعوتتان می‌کند. تغییر در این عطر مانند تغییر رنگدانه‌های کملون است، بسیاری فکر می‌کنند اگر یک کملون را بر روی سطحی با رنگی متفاوت قرار دهیم به سرعت تغییر رنگ می‌دهد، اما اینگونه نیست، گاهی شما حتا متوجه روند تغییر رنگ نمی‌شوید، خسته می‌شوید، سرتان را برمی‌گردانید و بعد از مدتی شاید نیم ساعت بعد می‌بینید در جاهایی رنگدانه‌هایی تغییر کرده‌اند کملون سبز نقاط قهوه‌ای پیدا کرده نیم ساعت بعد لکه‌هایی خاکستری، چنان آرام که متوجه روند تغییر رنگ نمی‌شوید، برای همین این عطر برای بعضی‌ها رایحه‌ای خطی از رزماری و زنجبیل است بدون حضور گل‌ها و چوب، اما باید سرتان را برگردانید و گاه‌گداری دوباره نگاه کنید و ببینید در بستر این رزماری جذاب لکه‌ها آرام آرام نمایان و محو و دیگرگون می‌شوند.

I will start by saying that I am a huge fan of Issey Miyake fragrances, so I may be a tiny bit biased; two of IM's frags sit in my top 5 fragrances, both are fragrances designed for cold weather and night wear (not what IM is known for). I own many of the other L'eau D'issey flankers as part of my collection, as I'm a fan of the house, yet I rarely find myself reaching for them. It's very difficult for me to find fragrances for the warmer days, I find most freshies to be unbelievably boring and usually generic, soapy, citrus, musk *yawn*. I received a sample of this as a freebie alongside a decant of Nuit D'issey Bois Arctic. I didn't have very high expectations, even though I know Issey Miyake has made some bangers, I usually stick with the darker frags. I first sprayed this on a warm Friday afternoon in late May of 2024. I had never checked the notes and was waiting for the typical Yuzu, lilly, lotus, musk concoction that most of the L'eau D'issey Pour Homme frags are known for, with some sort of fresh oceanic twist, but it never came. What is this I'm smelling? This doesn't smell very Blue at all! Wow! What an opening: the rosemary is very prominent, there is certainly some citrus present (not yuzu, but lime and some orange ) almost bitter, unapologetically green, the photorealistic juniper accord with cypress and ginger come through with some light lavender undertones. This stuff absolutely transforms in the warm spring air the bitterness fades as the aromatics take over. The oakmoss, cedar, and amber really ground everything as the fragrance transitions from one phase to another. This is an unbelievable composition, one of the most daring frags from Issey Miyake, only rivaled by the likes of Noir Ambré, Polaris, and Or Encens which came over 10+, years later. The quality of this juice is incredible and especially shines in the heat and humidity. A very mature composition, not as playful as the typical L'eau D'issey Pour Homme offerings. Bleue D'issey is elegant, crisp, green, beautiful. It's not blind buy safe, I didn't enjoy it as much initially as I do now. This is one of those fragrances that not everyone will enjoy, but it's absolutely phenomenal quality (almost in the same way many people view Encre Noire a la Extreme). I would recommend this for mature guys, 28+, works so well in the warmer months, but I can see it being used in the early autumn and early spring as well. It becomes too bitter in the cold in my opinion so I would avoid November through early March if you live in cooler regions. Longevity is excellent, easy 8+ hours with good projection in the first 2-3 hours. Masterpiece fragrance, niche quality, sadly discontinued but still available for cheap. 9/10

I first bought this fragrance in 2005 and it was my signature scent at a time when I only owned 5 bottles of cologne total. It wasn't the best scent in my small collection back then but it was the scent I kept going back to. There's something about this frag that draws you in. Bleue D'Issey is a very masculine fragrance which to me smells a lot more green than blue. But talk about a versatile fragrance. It can be worn in any season of the year with ease and it will project well in each of them. I personally like to wear this when it is raining. It's no exaggeration to say that this performs much better than current formulations of the original L'Eau D'Issey. In a typical wearing I can smell this on my skin 10 hours later with sillage going strong for 5 of those 10 hours. On t shirts this will last much longer. There is a complexity about this fragrance that is hard to put into words. It's just a captivating fragrance with an interesting blend of notes that i really love. There is a spiciness that comes in heavy but quickly recedes and supports not dominates (which im thankful for) in the first hour of the scent. During the drydown it becomes a lot more sweet and earthy. It was blended very well and is a quality fragrance from the Miyake House. Bleue is perhaps my favorite scent from the house so far. If you had issues with the cat urine accord in the original, get your nose on this and you may appreciate the nuances of the Issey Miyake style of perfumery. Like Mugler scents Miyake scents are distinctive to their brand. When you smell a scent by Issey Miyake it smells like a scent by Issey Miyake. I like their consistency in that regard. Even when they sell out and go along with the crowd in the names and types of frags they make with words like "Intense" or "Nuit" or "fraiche", you can expect it won't smell like any other designers take on a scent. I truly appreciate that about the house. Bleue is a beautiful scent which has a way of growing on those who smell it. It can be overpowering depending on sprays but overall its a very smooth, manly scent with an edge to it. It would fit at the office or during casual moments and is another skeleton key in the frag game. It just fits any situation. Bleue doesn't smell synthetic and is one of the most impressive scents one can buy under $35. It doesn't get the attention or the respect it deserves. Simply put...This is a gem which stands out in a crowd of commercial fragrances. It doesn't get the appreciation far more inferior scents receive. 8.5/10...A must try...If you like standing out and not smelling like the "masses" while not spending $500 for the privilege you will love this. A walk through a neighborhood farmers market with your friends during a hot summer morning next to a northern coast or lake. The hot summer sun brings out the smell of the dewy rosemary, freshly cut citrus, freshly cut wooden knickknacks, and sea spray. Life is good. Wow. A stunning opening of freshly muddled green rosemary, juicy citrus', and aromatic lemongrass with a wonderful marine leaning cypress backbone very reminiscent of the cypress in "Costa Azzura" by Tom Ford. As it dries down it becomes this wonderful marine woody cypress note surrounded by a medley of clean yet realistic aromatics, woods, and florals. This shit is one of the most underrated/hidden gems I've ever smelled. Everyone and their mother talks about "Nuit D'Issey" or the OG "L'Eau D'Issey Pour Homme" by Issey Miyake, so much so that I glossed over this scent for the past 3 or so years I've been doing this hobby. However, when I found a 2.5 oz bottle of this going for $25 on amazon, I had to pull the trigger and smell it due to the raving reviews. I say this with full confidence: they were right. This is easily my favorite Issey Miyake scent, and I'm excited to bring this into the weekly rotation for these upcoming warmer months. Super natural smelling, especially for the price, and while it may share the cypress note with "Costa Azzura" by Tom Ford, this is a twinge fresher and a bit more casual than CA. Cannot recommend this enough, especially for the price. Super long lasting performance with surprisingly good projection for the profile. 9.7/10. Signature Scent Worthy. Song vibe - Kodachrome by Paul Simon EDIT Now that I’ve worn about 1/3 of my bottle I’ve been able to pick apart this fragrance a bit more. 1) While I do see the shower gel comparisons, if you show me a shower gel that smells like this I’ll buy the whole stock. There is an undeniable clean/soapy backbone to this, but I think that’s just the backbone of most Issey Miyake scents. 2) While the performance is definitely there, as I’ve worn it into work a few times and it lasted til I get home from the gym, but the projection is only for about first 2-3 hours, sometimes 4 if I was working outside. In short: fantastic performance for the price. 3) this is one of the best spring/summer office fragrances due to the inoffensive, fresh nature of the scent and the good performance. It sticks with me and I have gotten a decent amount of compliments from fellow coworkers. All in all, and while I don’t ever promote blind buying, this was one of the best blind buys to date.

I literally got this bottle in yesterday, so more testing is needed. This scent blew me away though. Some described this as smelling like a Christmas tree. Well, I haven't smelled a Christmas tree that's smelled this damned good! I normally don't go for blue scents, but this one is a lot more interesting. It has this blue green profile and does it at an expert level. The rosemary, Cypress, and woods work in perfect harmony with each other. There's also been talk of reformulation, I'll find this out in about 2 weeks. So far, this is a very pleasant surprise. This does lean masculine, but wear whatever the hell you want. Will return after wearing this in the wild more and letting it sit for what hopefully will be a stronger scent. Scent: 10 Projection: 7 Sillage: 6 Longevity: TBD Price: 9.5 (docked due to size of bottle at 75ml) Overall: 8 Update 11/22/2024: Ok, so my love of this hasn't changed, but just got a better understanding of it's performance and I wished it lasted longer. I've really taken a liking to this and wasn't sure if I would. I credit A Gentleman's Journey (from YouTube) for putting this fragrance on my radar. I normally wouldn't give fragrances like this a second thought. But when I smelled this, I wanted more of it lol. Probably my favorite part about this fragrance comes in the mid when this starts to feel a bit powdery. So, in my mind, this came off as a forest scented powder LOL...don't knock it until you try it. Projection is pretty strong the first 30 minutes, then above moderate for the next 1 hour and 30 minutes. It sits closer to the skin after that first 2 hours, but people can get whiffs with you walking past them for the next 4 hours. Silage is just past an arms length the first hour, then gradually pulls in. Longevity is about 6-7 hours and I really wished I got more than that. I'll give me updated rating below. Scent: 10 Projection: 8 Sillage: 7 Longevity: 8 Price: 9.5 (docked due to size of bottle at 75ml) Overall: 8.5

I agree with others who have said that this is a fringe blue scent. I think it lies right at the edge of blue with other herbal-type scents that don't quite land on spices territory but are not quite floral or woody either -- at least for the beginning. Initially, the citrus is strong but short lived. It is a bitter citrus, that is not aggressive, but it isn't mild mannered either. To me, it teeters on unpleasant, but that subdues as the aromatic herbs and plants that are so ingrained into me reveal themselves: rosemary, cypress, lavender, and juniper berries. To me, this smells like my parent's gin & tonics they used to have in the countryhouse by the forest where we had three lone cypress trees: one for each of us siblings. I remember being a curious kid, having finished my Coca Cola and wanting to figure out what was in those goblets full of ice, liquid, and floating dry fruits, where they sipped and sipped and they never seemed to run out of drink, but it being far from my grasp, prevented by a stern word. How was I to know that that is not for children? It is fragrances like this that really remind me how incredible the power of scent is to bring you memories. After this incredible evocation of a very specific memory, the projection fades and becomes a skin scent with woody notes of oakmoss and cedarwood being particularly prominent to me. It lasts a fairly normal time, around 6 or 7 hours before I feel like I would like a reapplication. The perfect length for a long evening of gin & tonic by the fireplace, where simplicity and earnestness are valued for what they are. The fragrance is never too loud, never aggressive - just a reminder of the class and distinction that, to me, that quintessentially gentlemanly gin & tonic brings. I got this fragrance from a local swap, almost blind. Thank you to the man who let me be transported almost 8000 km and 20 years back.

This was literally love at first sniff! What an amazing opening. I immediately get an intense crisp cool woody smell with rich aromatic green herbs. Cypress. Juniper, and spicy florals from beginning to end. Its one of the greatest smells ive ever smelt. So cool, fresh, crisp. The dry down begins to be spicy in a more peppery less herbaceous way while still retaining the cool crisp bite of the cypress and juniper. There is almost a bamboo accord similar to Perry Ellis Platinum (which lists bamboo). The notes create a subtle aquatic note, but fresh water, not salt water. The base holds a dry woody earthy accord of patchouli and oakmoss which isnt dirty and the cedar, sandalwood and ambrette have an amazing dry spicy white musk like note. The sillage is nice and the longevity is good. The top and heart notes fade after 1-2 hours and the base remains for a couple more hours. Id say 4-6 hours total. Nothing suoer long but sometimes, beast mode is just unnecessary. This absolutely makes me feel like im walking in the woods. It smells so organic and natural! Very coniferous and herbal. I have never smelt such a fresh smell. Picture being in a confierous forest up north with cold air and a lake nearby, maybe early spring and you take in the deepest breath. This is that moment captured in a bottle. The blue bottle is not deceiving as some feel. There is a water aquatic note going on but not proiminent. This is truly "Green mixed Blue," a "Teal" fragrance. This is going down as one of my alltime favorite scents ive ever experienced. 10/10, absolute modern masterpiece.

I made a review when I first got this bottle and I just say, this is backup bottle worthy I love this scent and the more I wear it, the more I understand why it's named Bleu'. At first I thought it opened pretty green, idk what happened but now I just smell wafts of teal, deep blues and a faint deep greens. This is so beautiful. Its my dumb reach for warm rainy weather. I plan on buying a few more bottles. Ive worn this both in cool rainy weather and in warm rainy weather and the day feels like it comes to life in a very visceral way. It has this unique charm of smelling very clean, almost bubbly gummy at certain points, AND... Very herbal. Masculine. It just has this aura about it that feels very genuine. It's not very much the type of fragrance that's TRYING to be sexy, or unique, but it just is. It feels like an experience but a deeply grounded one. I would recommend to spray this heavy though. I spray my hands, wrists, pulse points on the arm, back of my neck, two on the shoulder, some in shirt. Creates and amazing scent bubble so I can appreciate this masterpiece. I also plan on experimenting with some Ambroxan with this... I'll make another review when I try it and let you guys know how it vibes, y'all probably going to get sick of me talking about this on here because it's quickly risen as one of my favorite fragrances, ever. That says a lot because I've had everything from Bond No. 9s to Nautica Voyage

My dad got this for my uncle back in the day when I was a kid and it was a gift set so it came with a little soap. My uncle gave me the soap and I remembered liking the scent of the soap back then so I just had to have this in my collection. It's old school green with some new school clean blue aquatic style. On my skin, I get a fresh realistic pine forrest scent in the opening with the herbs like the cypress and there's an oceanic salty scent in it too but it's really in the back and it is mostly green herbs on me which I like. As it drys down, it turns into an oak moss forward scent. It’s got a spring soap clean feel to the scent too. Love wearing it right after a shower. Performance wise, it’s got great projection and longevity. Sadly it's discontinued but it was an innovative scent profile. Lucky to have it in my collection and i’ll be using it sparingly so that I can have it in my collection forever. Edit: I thought this was discontinued but I was wrong. I just got a new bottle and not only does it have the recycling diagram that all the newer bottles have, but it also has Shiseido written on the bottom of the box unlike my older box which has BPI on it. Based on my old box and the new one, seems like they removed two notes. But smell wise, it still smells quite similar and has good projection and longevity. What a relief, this gem is still available.

It's taken me a while after purchasing this to write a review. It's a difficult scent to pin down, even after wearing for a while. I've decided that the "bleu" in Bleu d'Issey refers to a feeling rather than color, or, in fragrance terms, aquatic (which it certainly is not). I agree with other reviewers who mentioned this works well on rainy days rather than hot summer days. I grew up in the Pacific Northwest, and this scent reminds me of endless grey, rainy days, and the protracted undertones of melancholy that distill in one's psyche in such a climate. You were aware that the sun was out, but could never actually see it, weeks on end. When I wear Bleu d'Issey, I bask in this delicious mournfulness, like listening to a Chopin Etude in some remote, minor key. I believe it's the contrast of the sunny citrus notes trying in vain to peak through the heavily coniferous mid and base notes of juniper, cypress, and cedar. The amber, patchouli, and oak moss serve to further darken the already overmatched bright notes, and .... there's your "blue". Not tragic, not depressing. Perhaps peacefully resigned, as we Pacific Northwesterners are, to seasons of existential melancholy. Man, I love it!! It is a difficult scent to pin down, yes, but that's why it's a great scent. You wear this one for yourself.

ABSOLUTELY GORGEOUS! I never really took interest in this fragrance bc it was never really "hyped" as far as I remember, and I also figured it was just a lame attempt at just another blue/shower gel fragrance. Oh how wrong I was! This fragrance is just stunning imo, very fresh, aromatic, woody and slightly floral. I definately get hit with incense, although incense is not in the notes list. It's quite unique, clean and has excellent performance (especially for an edt) this fragrance truley acts much more like an edp vs an edt bc its the sillage and not the diffusivness thats magical here. The ONLY other fragrance I can at all relate this to would be (Hermès L'ombre Des Marveilles) which is actually a bright, "incense/fig" fragrance. I also have L'eau D'issey pour Homme intense, which is also absolutely beautiful, unique and has excellent performance, and the PRICES! These fragrances hit WAYY above their price range. I am super interested in the other offerings in this line, and I certainly recommend either of the before mentioned fragrances by Issey Miyake. This is a 9 outta 10 fragrance imo, bc of its beauty and uniqueness! Excellent pick up and Im super excited to give this a full wear. I first tried l'Eau Bleue d'Issey Pour Homme back in 2007, when it was a fresh release. I was hooked by it as I never were before with a scent. To be honest I didn't care much about perfumes until then. I understand that some people hate it, but I also know that it can smell quite different depending on the person. It can also change over time, although it remains an excellent fragrance many years in the bottle. (Thankfully, as I'm afraid Issey Miyake discontinued it around 2016). Since 2007 I've purchased several (at least 7 or 8 by my accounts), and used this fragrance almost exclusively for several years. On my skin it presents itself as a very bold and unexpected combination of citrus (mainly mandarin, and a bit of lime) and herbs (rosemary, lemongrass, juniper) over base notes of cedar, sandalwood, amber and musk. And it's powerful enough to earn compliments at a dinner party, after a long day in the office and having put it early in the morning. It's very unique, but mature at the same time. Has a lot of character. I got many, many, many compliments while wearing it. During these years I had 3 different girlfriends that kind of demanded that I used no other fragrance. ;P

The common idea that it's not blue at all and should be called a green scent is a bit misguided to me. One has to think back to some of the 80's-90's transition pieces in the vein of Cool Water, Laroche Horizon, Kenzo Homme, New West, and the like. True, the brushstrokes paint a lot of green on the canvas, but the background they're painted on is blue. It's a cliffside garden with cypress and juniper trees cutting into a blue sky over a blue sea. Cool winds blowing through patches of herbs and spices, an almost overwhelming mélange kept in check by the salted breeze. A whiff of rose here and there. There's a faint orange accord but not much citrus or sweet. It's very dry. I'm in 100% agreement on rosemary being intense here in the opening but surprised not to see the anise or ginger rated higher. Although a different scent entirely, this accord hints at another Jacques Cavallier creation, Opium pour homme. There's also a touch of Italian fougère in there, the lavender and anise, but perhaps not obvious. It has a transparent freshness between it all. Air, sky, water, aldehyde, whatever you want to call it. But to me, "Bleue" is a perfectly fine name for this amazing perfume.

That's a love from the first look at the bottle to the first spray. First, the bottle is amazing, from the angular shape to its colour, it's almost a "Mugler" type of bottle. Then, a great spicy-aromatic blend, with hints of citrus and woods. Created in 2004, but smells really modern, it gives me Acqua Di Gio Profondo Lights sometimes. It opens with a strong dose of rosemary, paired with some ginger and nice citrus, especially lime, the rosemary-lime association is so well done, that it almost conveys a "soda" vibe, with the effervescence I get from this combo. At this point it smells like a spice rack surrounded by open juicy citrus. Then it gets woodier, pine-cypress becomes obvious and the citrus fades a bit, this cypress note is really well made and never gets dull or boring in the deep drydown because the rosemary is still there, giving its effervescence and its spiciness, accompanied with some juniper, cedar. If you picture this scent, it is a green fragrance with some blue elements here and there, as if you were in a deep green mossy forest, there is rain pouring and you can hear water streams flowing in the surroundings.

Probably not discontinued according to comments above, which is a good news (tho it's still quite unavailable where I live) The notes are well balanced. They remind me of rosemary, juniper, cypress, cedar and patchouli, but there are some strange ingredients that altogether create a special vintage aura of woody and earthy smell with a herbally medicinal and chilly touch, and little floral or citric allusion.The opening to me is charmingly bitter yet "angular" and "sandy" (and I see a lot people detest this stage). Then it smoothly transits to softer tones with very delicate and proper amount of fresh sweetness. Mellow and solid, saturn and solitary. The drydown is round abd velvety, also less offensive. To me personally, it's a scent that delivers inner peace. One of my favs. It has good projection but introvert characteristics. For fall and spring. The long discontinued fraiche version was menat for summer. One of the kind, a blue juice that's not aquatic but very woody. Once it's gone, a (sub)genre is gone. If there is good price, go and grab one. The blue angular bottle is elegant after all.

I've been holding off collecting this one for a while, having tested it a number of times from discounters. I finally pulled the pin and picked it up yesterday. I like many of the Issey Miyake fragrances and this is no exception. The blast of lemongrass and lime in the opening is strong for me, and then it settles down to an almost exact copy of AdG Profumo. I can't quite put my nose on the very subtle difference in the dry down, but if someone had walked passed me wearing this I wouldn't be able to tell the difference between it and Profumo. Some have described this as an "Old man" style scent, but I love herbaceous notes and the rosemary in Bleue lasts the entire length of the wearing, and makes my eyes roll back in my head in delight. Apparently discontinued, but still very cheap in Australia (picked it up for $24/75ml). I'll grab another bottle as a backup at this price. Not a blind buy, but worthy of testing for half an hour while you do the the rest of your shopping.

This is a fougère, no doubt, but it’s not like the usual ones. It feels modern, clean, and easy to wear. The opening hits with a citrus splash and a super realistic rosemary — like someone dropped fresh herb oil into sweet lemon juice. Herbal, but smooth. Then it cools off. Cypress brings that forest vibe, lavender adds a soft sweetness, and ginger gives it a little sparkle. The herbal/aromatic turns in a cooling fragrance. Everything blends well, nothing sticks out. I can’t feel the lemongrass, probably is mixed with the citrus/aromatic blend. The base holds it steady — woody, calm, and fresh. Remember a little bit vetiver in the dry down but definitely aromatic woods, just a little bit dry. I really love aromatic herbs and I’m in love with this one. I was expecting more blue, but in the end it feels like a herb bouquet, so fresh that you can feel the essential oil exploding in your nose. For the price, it’s a 10/10

Another fragrance from my nephew's collection (a misunderstood gift from me) is there, full, waiting to come to life. I stealthily decide to test it... adorable. L'Eau Bleue d'Issey Pour Homme by Issey Miyake created by Jacques Cavallier launched in 2004. Fragrance presented as masculine but also very pleasant for women who love expiratory / aromatic fragrances. Varied olfactory pyramid, triumph of the Mediterranean scrub. At the juste pulvérisé the citrus notes triumph solemnly to give way to the dry to the bright notes of rosemary that remain present throughout the olfactory experience. When dry down, the aromatic notes, chypre, épices and in fine boises are masterfully blended, the dominant rosemary over the citrus and spicy notes wins over everything. Summer, fresh, Mediterranean fragrance. Aromatic citrus sillage of great effect and duration.

What a beautiful, aromatic, therapeutic, herbacious scent. It is fresh, green and mossy. Blind bought it because someone mentioned strong lemongrass and i love lemongrass but to my nose it is very prominent rosemary. The opening is very fresh rosemary. I can smell the rosemary all the way to the dry down when it gets balsamic and mossy/woody. In "SPA" world, rosemary works uplifting the spirit but i feel very relax and uplifting at the same time everytime i smell this gorgeous scent. I am very happy with this one. Must be great for layering with another fragrances such as Jaipur Homme from Boucheron😍. Price : on sale €16 for 75ml Longevity : 3- 5hrs Sillage : weak it is not a loud fragrance If you love a aromatic fragrance, this one is unique on it's own. Blind buy worthy? Yes it does.

Unique, mysterious and intriguing. It is neither a "sexy" or a "clubbing" or night out type of scent. It's a personal fragrance you wear to create memories for yourself and others. L'Eau Bleue combines the essence of green and blue fragrances created by the master himself of such compositions; Jacques Cavallier. Imagine sitting by the ocean in the evening hours listening to the calm splashes of waves hitting the coast the combined aroma of the ocean, green woods and the nearby campfire. Imagine, just sitting there looking at the stars thinking about your life, and the purpose of it. I'm convinced that's the exact image Cavallier had in mind when he created this masterpiece specifically for those that wear fragrances for personal reasons more than compliments or attention.

Love this fragrance but never wore it and ultimately got rid of it. This is suitable for crisp cool weather. Reminds me of walking through the mountain pines during a cool brisk winter or even fall day. Rosemary is quite prominent along with the cypress and cedar woods. While the bottle is blue this is clearly a green scent. Not a green grass, not an herbal green, not a mossy green, but an evergreen tree green. There's a nice sweetness of tonka or vanilla moreso than amber that helps to balance out the green woody sharpness. Sad they discontinued this. Tom Ford Costa Azzurra Parfum is going to be the closest but at many times the cost. The TF is smoother, a bit more woody(oak vs cedar) than green but otherwise very similar.

This currently holds the title of "my favorite fragrance ever". I'm still new to the fragrance game, so discovering this early on has left me somewhat spoiled. Nothing I've ever smelled is fresher than this. I would agree with others that it's somewhere between a blue and a green fragrance. To me, this fragrance tells the story of blue from the mouths of green things that have become wet. My only complaints are that my bottle doesn't last as long as I'd like, and it doesn't perform strong enough to be worth wearing to work (warehouse environment). Once I get sweaty it dissipates rather quickly. But just to go out on the town, run some errands? I feel like a million bucks.

Another Miyake fragrance that I love. L’Eau Bleue opens with a burst of green rather than the expected blue, but over time, it settles into that classic aromatic profile you’d associate with blue fragrances. There’s a subtle foresty vibe, balanced by a salty touch and hints of masculine woods lingering just around the edges. I usually steer clear of blue scents, but this one is an exception—I really do love it. It might be a niche comparison, but it reminds me of Cerruti 1881 Man which is a Green fragrance, however, L'eau Bleue adds a saltier twist to it. No complaints at all! I’ve always been a fan of Miyake fragrances, and this one earns a solid 8.5/10 from me!

I've had a bottle of this for years and I liked it from the moment I got it. But for some reason I don't reach for it a lot. But this is one of these fragrances that always seems to be better than I remember it every time I do reach for it. Green, aromatic, and long lasting, it's also incredibly versatile. Why don't I wear this more often? Though it's been discontinued, it's still widely available at incredibly cheap prices. Maybe the scent profile isn't a safe blind buy. But given that it's no longer being made and it's still available for less than $40 at discounters, you might just want to grab a bottle now if it sounds like something you'd like.

Gorgeous scent. Honestly, this is a niche-like blue frag. It's somewhere between TF Costa Azurra and Bvlgari Aqva, very aromatic and green. This isn't a beachy or poolside/sporty frag. The vibe is of a humid, cloudy day by the sea right before a storm. There's a gentlemanly energy that throws you back a couple of decades, but it doesn't smell dated or "old" and the fact that there is no sweetness here only adds to that idea, which honestly is a positive thing, setting it apart from the modern aquatics of today. Surprisingly good performance, all seasons. Also, it lends itself to formal occasions aswell, it does bring the classy vibes for sure.

Ginger, Rosemary, Pink pepper, lime.... Basically this is what Is noticeable from this fragrance all the way through. When you first spray it it is quite intense. The bitter ginger note blasts through along with the pepper. A unique experience for sure. It's alsmot too much to handle at first....then as it settles it transforms into this breezy green after rain affect. Fresh but not that citrus fresh, more of a green breezy ozonic walking past a garden after a few hours of rain. Very addictive. Could be for summer and winter, shines well in the fall in the Fall, spring and summer nights., A/C summer days. Absolutely fabulous like no other.....

The perfect, most natural and exotic fragrance for your proposal. I can't see a type of situation where it can't be used, or any temperature where it wouldn't work well. I live in the Brazilian northeast, one of the hottest areas on the planet and even so, at temperatures above 40o Celsius it behaves well. The combination of rosemary, lemon, cypress and cedar makes it full-bodied and at the same time fresh, it lasts more than 12 hours and is clearly perceived from more than 6 feet away! I couldn't find another fragrance that has so much versatility, with so much performance and that wasn't so popular.

VERY deceiving bottle design as the initial blast is a green herbal vibe wanting to grab attention this way but eventually the green aspect allows a polo blue style scent to join in giving L'Eau Bleue d'Issey the staying power it definitely possesses. For the low 30'ish dollar cost this gives impressive performance. I easily got 8 hours and was still sniffing this on my skin. Could wear this anytime for anything. I've seen this on a few youtubers cheapie gem lists and now I understand why. It's quite unique but younger people may not love that herbal opening.

L’Eau Bleue D’Issey opens up with a brisk freshness that aligns itself properly within the realm of aquatic freshness, all while still providing a green herbal tinge. A must own fragrance for any gentlemen who is looking for something unique and non expensive. Performance is in the above average range, but that can always be resolved by spraying a bit more. I will say if you are more into the youthful sweet aquatics like Invictus or Profondo this might throw you off. However this is overall great and somehow underrated. 8.7/10

Slightly sour blue-green aquatic freshie? I dunno! Nice fresh blast of green herbal citrus that develops into a nice spicy floral mid and dries down to a fairly patchouli dominant drydown with amber soft woods and oakmoss. It's quite herbal green yet floral with soft spices and very masculine. As it ages the florals become more dominant from what i remember from the previous bottle 12 years ago. Performance is piss poor on post 2020 bottles. 2 hours projection and skin scent in around 5. So on that it goes from an 8/10 to a 6

My father used to wear this fragrance when I was just a young kid. He passed away from cancer in 2009, but whenever I smell this scent I am instantly brought back to a sunday morning before church with him. When I wear it, I feel we are just a little bit closer. makes my mom happy too. Smells awesome. Very masculine old school feel. unique and herbal. one of the top 3 fragrances that I own. Waiting on a new bottle, the atomizer on his bottle has broken off. 4/5 stars as an unbiased rating, 5/5 for my personal enjoyment.

Bought it as a blind buy. At first, it felt like a very generic male perfumes, they always get to be spicy and screams of a masculine character (another example could be Calvin Klein Men Euphoria Intense, kinda reminded me of it though). So i wasn't satisfied at first, but when green notes (rosemary is very dominant) started to open, that's when i realized i bought a gem, but i would still consider it as a pretty risky blind buy, the opening might not surprise everyone. Performance is okay, just okay

The "Rainy Day" King: 5For me, this isn't a beach scent—it’s the smell of a cold, damp forest after a heavy downpour.There is something about the damp, woody dry down that perfectly matches a rainy afternoon. Considering the price point, the quality of the blend feels almost niche. It doesn’t smell like a "cheap" designer scent; it smells like something you'd find in a high-end boutique. It’s definitely a "grown-man" scent—it demands a bit of confidence to pull off that herbal punch.

There are a lot of notes listed on here that I don't smell so I'll talk about the ones that I do. Lime, lemongrass and juniper berries slap you with a juicy sweetness right off the rip. Only the juniper will last. A bit of patchouli and sandalwood expose themselves in the background. Eventually you're left with a pleasantly smooth, woody base. Hints of oakmoss do peek in at you, too. A truly beautiful cheapie that is anything but cheap. Unfortunately discontinued.

Are you looking to be noticed? Wear this! Is it a lady killer, NO. Is it something that will make someone turn their head? Yeah. Its unique, nothing else out there smells quite the same. Very herbal opening and a extremely masculine fresh dry down. It should be L'Green D'Issey. Beware! It is very very potent for the first hour or so. It has great silage for about another 5 hours and will still be a skin scent by the 10 hour mark. All in all, great fragrance here!

Im really surprised that not many folks are choosing Hermes L'Ombre Des Marveilles as a "Reminds me of" fragrance. These two almost smell one to one imo. Both are stellar, clean and unique if ya don't count the similarities to each-other. Then again, neither fragrance is very popular. Beautiful 8 outta 10 fragrance with good performance, but 6 hours on skin and much longer on clothes. If yall like clean, unique fragrances this is a great blind-buy!

The opening and mid of this fragrance instantly reminded me of something, and I couldn’t figure it out for awhile what it was. I haven’t done chewing tobacco or snus in well over 12 yrs. Then I figured it out, it smells almost exactly like thunder apple snus, if anyone has had that , you’ll know exactly what I mean. I wanted this comment out there because it was so aggravating trying to figure out what it reminded me of, and it was in fact, that.

This can't be so cheap. This deserves a higher price. Very very natural smelling and very realistic for me this is what suppose to be niche perfumery. Fresh, brisk very manly but can't be defined about the age. Isn't modern and isn't old man's scent. Timeless forrest god would wear this. Some creature that lives beyond our understanding but is bound to the nature of this planet. Love from me. Beautiful. Breathtaking. Feral.

These Days when all guys wearing very sweet or Ambroxan heavy fragrances, this is heaven in bottle - super sexy, masculine, green and complicated in best way possible. Sadly this was discontinued and luckily few shops in my country put Issey on Stock, so I immediattely bought a bottle for my husband - I ordered a similar Lanvin Sport for Christmas but its not that sophisticated as Bleu de Issey.

Incredible freshie that's suitable for colder weather, like a gingery botanical tea. There's a natural and warm ginger note that I absolutely love, and I can smell it all the way through. This fragrance is a gem, will definitely be buying more in future as it's super affordable (granted it's not completely sold out after it's discontinuation). Edit: I do really wish it lasted longer though :'(

Clean and utterly masculine, youthful without sweetness. As unique, as it is safe in any setting, except the high heat. It's got a very special, herbaceous, woody freshness about it that I struggle to relate to anything else I've smelled. Yet it is very familiar in it's sheer cleanliness and versatility, it is blue in that way... blue without showergel associations. fantastic designer cheapy!

in my nose this is 2nd scent of heaven after creed SMW . sweetness is fine , rosemary at it's natural way and the woody notes brings a bitter scent which makes it perfect for summer and spring . performance is also great lasts more than 8 hours one of my friends told me it smells like being weightless in green hills or high altitudes in japan . overall this is my beloved one from this house .

What is this cologne, it is underrated I'm also happy that is underrated to be special, this is not a regular perfume such as Sweet it is completely different it is complex one reminds me of French Lover by FM in a simple way. Issey Miyake created this classy masterpiece for the signature scent, and also this cologne is not completely blue it's between green and blue.

In the year 2025 i blind bought a bottle from 2014. Longevity and projection might be lower considering the date of the bottle but the scent is so good and unique. Its really a gem and i dont regret purchasing this . If you can find it, buy it . If you dont like it you would be able to sell because its discontinued. For me, one of my favorite smells !

Standing in a spice garden, after it rains. Your drinking a gin and tonic with lime You just shaved and its dark out. Aldehydic and herbaceous, musky, spicy, and earthy. Amazing scent! Mature and poetic. Inviting and Masculine. Quiet and Reflective. I encourage you to try this! Better yet pick up a bottle before this disappears forever. Hidden gem.

If your reading this and you like woody/herby scent just get it, i mean i wish i discovered this sooner but wow what an amazing frag it last long and project a decent amount it smells very fresh ,clean, woody, herby and honestly i to me it smells exactly like a pine tree and i love it definitely will be getting more

It's such a versatile cologne with good projection and 6 hours of longevity, the scent profile is unique in comparison to the blue cologne of this era since they all give off shower gel vibe, it breaks my heart to know Issey miyake discontinued this gem, I hope they bring it back because it is a very great cologne.
