L'Eau d'Issey Eau de Parfum Intense

I’ve been collecting Issey Miyake perfumes for a long time and this new flanker really keeps the feel and DNA of the original L’Eau d’Issey while still having its own twist. They're different enough to justify owning both. It’s easy to wear, light, watery, sweet and a little lush. It’s not super fruity but it gives that same feeling as biting into something juicy and fresh. I read that before he passed away, Issey Miyake gave his approval to the direction of the last few scents, including this one. It might not be super revolutionary but it’s a really lovely perfume, especially if you already love the original. The new caps are now 100% wood so they’re more biodegradable and better for the environment.

I impulse bought this one cuz it smelled good, like love at first smell... Personally, I really like it on my skin. It does not last very long tho. like a decent 2-3 hours :(( Also I think its a bit dependent on skin chemistry,, for me it dries down sweet and slightly aquatic Its understandable that people think it is far from the original, cuz it kinda is. It lacks the freshness or airyness(?) of the original Issey miyake perfume. I dont regret buying it but I also think that maybe I should've bought the other smells instead haha

If it has a weather it would be 23C sunny April afternoon walking in a neighbourhood with many fragrant flowering trees. This has the original l'eau d'issey DNA with a warmer slightly heavier twist. It smells like the few weeks between spring and summer when all the flowers are blooming and the weather is humid and makes you want wish there's a breeze. Perfect floral scent if you want something less icy than the original. Definitely ylang ylang prominent- if you don't like ylang ylang skip this one.

This is such a beach vibe fragrance. Recalls those summer collections that Issey Miyake used to release every year. The ylang-ylang is gorgeous and creamy here. There is a bit of vanilla but not the sickly sweet gourmand kind that permeates the market these days. This vanilla never becomes more noticeable than the ylang-ylang. Personally, I think it's gorgeous. Maybe this is one of those fragrances one either loves or hates, given the polarizing reviews below.

I was unaware that the word Intense has been redefined to mean 'mildly noticeable if you press your nose to your wrist.' Bold choice. The og will forever be one of my favourite fragrances - the colossus of the 90s that could cut through nightclub smoke, and still walk you home in the morning, booming from your skin louder than the bass line. This new 'Intense'? You put it on before leaving, and by the time you’ve found your other shoe, it’s already ghosted you. I mean, it's pleasant, light, marine, even soothing. It doesn’t project, it doesn’t roar. You’ll get pleasant little wafts of marine breeze with a drizzle of vanilla and a polite nod from ylang-ylang. It’s genuinely nice, fresh, and easy to wear. Blindfold me and I’d probably call it 'Ocean Breeze Fusion Aqua Sport Summer Edition' and no one would correct me. Ok, I’ll admit I’m exaggerating a little here. The og edt was positively beastmode in a way that could outlast the night, the hangover, and maybe even the breakup that followed. For an edt, it was legendary. By comparison, this 2025 'Intense' actually has decent longevity for what it is - you’ll still catch whiffs hours later if you pay attention. The problem is the name: slap Intense on the bottle and I’m expecting Thor’s hammer in fragrance form, not a pleasant little marine breeze with a soft vanilla smile.

imagine the original softened with a warm vanilla+ylang, also less sharp . very much a floral green, dont let the accords or ‘this smells like” fool you . & yes this was the last one issey miyake himself approved of before his passing, if you cared about memorabilia

An enchanting, refined sweetness in a watery fragrance. Subtle sillage and good longevity, typical of Japanese perfumes. A quiet elegance, like that of a lady.

People, I do not feel here any flowers neither any vanilla! For me it is pure marine scent. Cold waters of not really salty ocean or sea..northern sea maybe portionally frozen and covered up with ice.. Antarctice. Standing aboard cruise liner, cold wind and snow blows to your face..cold waters and ice are breaking under you.. The same direction with Ungaro Fruit d'Amour turquoise and Anna Sui "Mermaid", but less fruity, more into unisex side. Somewhat also like Davidoff "Cool water ice" and Mexx "Ice touch". This flanker is very far from original...I could never recognize that it is Issey Miyake.

This is kinda weird to my nose I don’t think it’s a flanker to the OG... it can absolutely be a new release it’s think sweet vanillary thick very ylang ylang heavy which I don’t like the combination of Ylang + vanilla... smells very suntan lotion to my nose If you like those scents this is for you

Smells light as water to me. Very aquatic, pleasant.

This is a no for me. It took me the whole day to come to that conclusion because there are aspects of this scent that I do appreciate. Unfortunately, although I loved how it smelled from the bottle, I soon found it extremely overbearing when applied to my skin . On my skin, the top notes smelled like really strong artificially flavored lemon concentrate, before it's diluted with water. There is an aquatic note too that smelled lovely from the bottle but once on my skin smelled like raw egg. This lasted a while but once the floral aspect of the drydown emerged I warmed up a bit to this fragrance. I love ylang ylang. It is very strong and bright here, although for some strange reason it evokes orange blossom, which I like much less than ylang ylang. (Interestingly, I had the same issue with the Eau&Magnolia flanker, where the magnolia came off as orange blossom). Still, I did find the floral notes here overall pleasing. Happily, I didn't get any of the vanilla in the base. This scent is also extremely strong and long lasting, which is a plus - if you like the scent. It is indeed intense!. It's 8 hours since I applied one spray to my wrist and it's still going strong. For me, despite the nice floral middle, the raw egg smell, which unfortunately is also still going strong, is a deal breaker.

First time i smelled this i really liked it, i thought it was very bright and i got that airy initial feeling, as i continued using it started to feel sickeningly sweet to me, i can smell this all the time, if u have no problem with sweet scents u may like this, but for me it is headache inducing.. All though the listed notes are not the same, it is incredibly similar to marc jacobs perfect edt (to my nose at least) and they both had this interesting initial impression about them but then they get really just too much

I pretty much like every perfume but this might be the worst one I've smelt. Don't let the initial sniff from the bottle cap fool you. It's like actually awful. Thought it would be like marine or aquatic or salty with possibly something like lilly of the valley but instead it's the perfume version of throw up with overly sweet notes. Heed my warning.

I am an Issey Miyake pour femme ADDICT. Esp L'eay d'Issey in the EDT and the OMFG EDP versions. So I thought I HAVE to have this "intense" EDP. It must be out of this world. Yes it is...out of this world INTENSELY BAD! This scent lacks any and all of the core L'eau d'Issey DNA. This isn't a flanker and nothing about it even suggests it belongs in the Issey domain. This is a bottle of cheap vanilla crap 💩 that takes a dump on some ylang-ylang. Even the materials used in the hardware are cheap plastic. Where are the signature metal caps? This comes with a faux wood grain plastic piece of 💩. Mr.Miyake is rolling over in his urn and crying at what had become of his legacy. Amandine Clerc-Marie ought be ashamed at what has been wrought here. To add insult to injury this was so hard to find on release I had to go to a duty free shop in Dusseldorf on a trip back to the US. What a total let down and waste if time, distance, and ducats!

Smells like algae and b.o. Just awful, gave me a headache and could not be scrubbed away.

Oh my, here we go again. Me, falling for yet another yellow floral. I don’t know what it is, but when a fragrance truly gets me to the core, it’s always a yellow floral. Every single time. I mentioned in my Pivoine review that it felt disconnected from the Issey DNA, and I stand by that. It didn’t carry the house’s signature lightness, and the abstract, aquatic air. This one, though? Even though the composition technically suggests it breaks from tradition, it still somehow is Issey. It’s different, yes, but it keeps the air and the watery clarity. It feels right. I need to go back, get more samples, and live in its cloud for a few days. But honestly... I think it's love. And it’s scary, because love means commitment - and I never rush into that. But there’s something here, something glowing and so me. Is this love? It might be. Update: I went back and did more sampling. Just a wonderful Issey-characteristic blend. A very unique yellow floral and vanilla under a marine/green/oceanic umbrella (due to the posidonia seaweed). Amazing, and I'm absolutely getting this. I'm officially a Yellow Floral Queen.

Whatever it is, I love possidonia: it makes me think of Aqva Divina metallic salty notes. There are my feelings about sea. Rocks, salt, icy sand. Flowers coming afterwards. Very yellow, almost creamy, as rounded by a vanilla whisper. Makes me dream of freedom. So apparently, for me, freedom might be a cooling, windy, salty floral freshness.

This is a great flanker—it doesn’t smell too similar to the original, but it still carries that signature Issey Miyake DNA we love. It smells sweet as hell, with hints of vanilla and aquatic note

I’m obsessed with ylang-vanilla combo, thats why Scandal Intense (the new released violet bottle) is my absolute fav. Can someone tell me if these two are close?
